The Transmission is making a whining nose and smells terribly bad! When driving on the interstate and parkways; after the car reaches 60 -70 miles, the car starts shaking and slows down; almost coming to a complete stop and we have to either get over in the slow lane and/ or sometimes, we have to pull over, off the interstate, because it has came to a complete stop and would not accelerate and/or move forward ! We sat there for an hour waiting for help/ and I called my Granny! When she got there; she checked the oil, added a quart of oil! After sitting there for over an hour; the car accelerated and we drove onto a side road and drove it slowly back to the house! WE took it to Unitires on Charolette ! He told us, the whining noise appeared to be the Transmission ! He repaired the wheel bearing , which stopped some of the shaking; but not all of it!

While driving and starting from a stop, the car loses power momentarily and then jerks forward, causing a dangerous driving condition. --- Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. --- Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, an accident was not caused. --- Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? None. ----

While driving at around 70 mph on the highway the car suddenly lost power and was no longer able to accelerate. This issue persisted for the duration of the drive and has happened now on more than one occasion. There were no warning lights or messages before or after the car stopped accelerating and this very nearly caused and accident when the car wouldn’t accelerate during a lane change even with the gas pedal fully depressed. After a few minutes of no acceleration the car also begins to accelerate suddenly and without warning. I haven taken the car to an auto shop and they were able to pull codes that indicate an issue with the transmission. I have not yet paid for the issue to be fixed and the car is available for inspection upon request.

Vehicle transmission appeared to slip from gear causing vehicle to lose power while in heavy interstate traffic at 70mph, vehicle lost acceleration and began to slow then "bucked" jolting vehicle several times almost suffered rear collision from following cars. Upon stopping to check fluid in transmission, stick read full for hot.

The contact owned a 2012 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while her boyfriend was driving at 40 MPH and passing a side street, another driver traveling in a Subaru failed to yield. As a result, the Subaru collided with the passenger side of the contact's vehicle sending the vehicle careening off the roadway and into a wooded area only coming to a complete stop after colliding with a tree. The air bags did not deploy resulting in the driver sustaining injuries that the contact attributed to the failure. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss by the insurance provider. A police report was filed and injuries were reported. The driver was transported to an area hospital by EMT and treated for bruised ribs and pain in his neck, chest, back, abdomen, and knees. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TRIGGERED AND I BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY LOCAL NISSAN SHOP. THE CAR HAD BEEN RUNNING ROUGH, LOOSING POWER, AND BURNING OIL. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME I NEEDED NEW SPARK PLUGS AND A NEW BOOT. AFTER AGREEING TO PAY THE $500, I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THE SHOP. THE MECHANIC EXPLAINED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED, THAT ACTUALLY I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE. AFTER THE $500 IN WORK HAD BEEN DONE, THE MECHANIC PERFORMED A COMPRESSION TEST. THE TEST INDICATED A BAD ENGINE. SO THE WORK WAS DONE ON A BAD ENGINE. THE CAR HAD ABOUT 100,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS ALWAYS HAD PROPER MAINTENANCE. SO WHY IS IT BAD ALREADY? AND WHY WAS I MISLEAD TO PAY $500 ON A BAD ENGINE? THIS IS NOT RIGHT. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

THE CAR TURNS OFF WHEN STOPPED LIKE AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. BATTERY WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP A WEEK AGO. ALTERNATOR WAS CHECKED AND IS GOOD. I HAVE TO TURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND START IT AGAIN.

Transmission died. For a few weeks, the transmission will randomly have a high whine at about 55mph, sometimes hard shifting or high revving when I feel it should have shifted. A mechanic told me the CVT transmission wasn't good and would eventually need replacement. As I made a left turn, the car started jerking and lunging. The vehicle behind had to stop fast to avoid hitting me. I was almost stranded in the intersection, but was able to limp the car out of traffic. No warning lights. I had the car towed home. I am trying to sell it as is.

WHILE DRIVING MY CAR WILL JUST SHUT OFF. IT ALSO WILL SHUTOFF WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A COUPLE OF SHOPS AND THEIR TEST SAY BAD OXYGEN SENSOR SO I HAD IT REPLACED, BUT THIS HAS NOT FIXED THE ISSUE.

PULLED INTO GAS STATION AND WHEN TRYING TO LEAVE THE CAR WOULDN'T SHIFT INTO GEAR. IT WAS LOCKED INTO PARK AND HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK. SEEN ON CAR COMPLAINTS .COM THAT NISSAN OWNERS HAD CONTACTED NISSAN AND THEY SAID NISSAN WASN'T GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

2012 NISSAN SENTRA STARTED MALFUNCTIONING WITH BATTERY REPLACEMENT ON MARCH 25, 2015 AT HANLEES NISSAN IN DAVIS, CA, WHERE I HAD PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN SEPT 2013 AND WHERE I HAD MOST SERVICE PERFORMED WHILE I OWNED THE VEHICLE. I COMMUTED 1.5 HOURS EACH WAY FOR A NEW JOB IN ROHNERT PARK AND I WAS BECOMING ILL. UNABLE TO LOCATE HOUSING IN THE AREA I WAS UNABLE TO KEEP THE JOB FOR MORE THAN 2 WEEKS. I SUSPECT FOUL PLAY WITH THE DAVIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT. CAR STARTED HAVING A LOUD CLICKING SOUND AT JUST LESS THAN 30MPH. DAVIS SERVICED CAR FOR TWO MORE YEARS. THEY CANNOT PROVIDE A DUPLICATE SALES CONTRACT SAYING IT IS LOST. DAVIS REFERRED ME TO KIM AT FAIRFIELD NISSAN AND SHE TOLD ME IT IS MISSING. THIS DIFFICULTY SHOULD NOT EXIST. I ASKED LIENHOLDER CRB AUTO/MECHANICS BANK TO PROVIDE A COPY AND I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE. I MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO HAVE MY CAR ASSESSED AT NISSAN DAVIS, VACAVILLE, NORTH BAY NISSAN IN PETALUMA (REPLACED CATALYTIC CONVERTER 7-31-17 60, 000 MILES) PROBLEM NOT CORRECTED. VEHICLE NOW DEVELOPED EXTREMELY POOR GAS MILEAGE. I CONTINUED TO GET SICKER. I HAD BEEN ILLEGALLY EVICTED FROM MY RENTAL HOME AT 7172 YOLANO ROAD, DIXON, CA 95620 JUNE 3, 2017 WITH HARSH BULLYING AGAINST LAW IN CONCERT WITH THE SOLANO COUNTY SHERIFF'S (ONGOING INVESTIGATION) I HAD HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO DAVIS PRIOR TO LEAVING THAT ADDRESS. I TOLD THEM I GOT REALLY ILL WHEN DRIVING THE CAR. THEY REFUSED DIAGNOSTIC WORK AND RECOMMENDED CLEANING DETAIL OF CAR AT MY EXPENSE. DID POOR JOB AND HAD TO REPEAT. ONCE HOMELESS, I WAS IN THE CAR, RELOCATED TO MARIN COUNTY AND CONTINUED TO DETERIORATE IN HEALTH. (ER VISITS TO DOCUMENT). MILEAGE HAD BEEN 35-40 MPG DECREASED TO15-20 MPG. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO SF NISSAN ON 10-3-17 AND THEY RESET ALL CODES, COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. CAR IMPOUNDED IN DT SF ON 10-6-17; ROBBED OF IMPOUND $500 CASH AND BELONGINGS ON 10-10-17. PLEASE HELP.

SPOUSE PARKED AND WAITING IN THE CAR AT AIRPORT ARRIVAL CURB AROUND 8:30PM. AS I WAS WALKING TOWARDS THE CAR, I HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION, SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT. THEN I NOTICED THE CAR SUNROOF PIECES SHATTERED ALL OVER. NO CARS PASSING BY. TEMP AROUND 90F. LUCKILY NO PASSENGERS CLOSE BY TO THE CAR. SPOUSE WAS IN SHOCK AND LUCKILY THE SUNROOF COVER WAS CLOSED. I COULD NOT FIND A CAUSE OTHER THAN SUSPECTING THIS IS A VEHICLE MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THE ONLY DAMAGE PART WAS SUNROOF ITSELF. I WAS DRIVING IN THE CENTER LANE OF A 3 LANE HIGHWAY WHEN I HEARD AN EXPLOSION AND FELT SOMETHING HIT ME AND REALIZED BY SUNROOF SHATTERED AND THE GLASS CAME DOWN ON TOP OF ME. I PULLED OVER WHEN I COULD AND COULD NOT FIND A CAUSE FOR THIS. THE ONLY THING DAMAGED WAS THE SUNROOF ITSELF. I DID NOT HAVE THE VISOR CLOSED SO IT COVERED ME IN GLASS PLUS I STILL FEEL THE IMPACT FROM EITHER THE SPRAY OR JUST THE FORCE ON MY RIGHT HEAD,EAR, AND SHOULDER. NO CUTS, JUST SORE. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK AT ABOUT 6:45 AM I HEARD A LOUD NOISE LIKE AN EXPLOSION AND HEARD GLASS CRACKING AND LOOKED AT SUNROOF. IT HAD EXPLODED AND BURST INTO PIECES. I CLOSED THE SUNSHIELD TO PROTECT MYSELF AND PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I CALLED 911 AND A GA STATE PATROL CAME AND INSPECTED THE INCIDENT AND STATED IT LOOKED LIKE A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT WITH NO SIGN OF ANYTHING IMPACTING THE CAR. HE WROTE AN INCIDENT REPORT AND I HAD TO DRIVE ONTO WORK. NISSAN IS LOOKING AT MY CAR LATER TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND I HOPE THEY DO THINGS RIGHT SO I DON'T HAVE TO FIGHT TO GET THIS RESOLVED. *TR

THE PLASTIC PIECE ON DRIVERS FRONT FENDER KEEPS POPPING OUT SO YOU HAVE TO KEEP POPPING IT BACK SO IT'S SECURE ON FRAME AS AFRAID IT WILL FALL OFF IF DON'T. I NOTICED IT AFTER I HAD PARKED. PREVIOUSLY HAD TO HAVE A CLIP PUT ON TO SECURE THE PART. SO THIS IS SECOND TIME IT'S HAPPENED IF SOMEONE HITS ON THAT SIDE WOULD CAUSE DAMAGE FOR SURE

WHEN OPENING THE DOOR THE HANDLE NO LONGER FUNCTIONED. UPON ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEM, A PLASTIC PIECE THAT HAD ALLOWED THE SPRING TO ACTIVATE HAD BROKEN AND THIS WOULD NOT ALLOW THE DOOR TO OPEN VIA THE HANDLE FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR. I WAS HOWEVER ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE EXTERIOR OF THE CAR, ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOW TO OPEN THE CAR DOOR. AFTER A HARSH WINTER AND THE POWER WINDOWN SWTICH BEING REPLACED AS WELL AS THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR I WAS ABLE TO USE MY DOOR PROPERLY AGAIN. THE WORSE THING IS THAT NOT EVEN 3 MONTHS LATER I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN AGAIN, DEALT WITH IT FOR A WHILE, BUT WINTER HAS NOW COME AGAIN AND I STILL CAN NOT OPEN MY DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. I HAVE RIGGED A WIRE LOOP AROUND THE PULLEY SYSTEM AND CREATED A WAY TO OPEN MY DOOR FROM THE INSIDE, BUT I HAD READ MULTIPLE BLOGS THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THE SENTRA. I FIND THIS TO BE CONCERNING AND FEEL THAT NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THESE PARTS AND OFFER LIFETIME REPLACEMENT OF THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. IF I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND MY DOOR WAS MY ONLY EXIT, WOULD NISSAN BE PAYING MY FAMILY FOR MY DEATH?

IT WAS RAINING REALLY HARD ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND I STARTED TO EXPERIENCE DRIPPING FROM THE ROOF OF MY CAR ON THE INSIDE AND DRIPPING FROM THE INSIDE OF MY PASSENGER DOOR. I WAS SITTING IN THE GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT.

ON CHRISTMAS MORNING, I WENT OUT TO THE PARKED CAR TO DISCOVER AN EXPLODED SUNROOF . TEMPERATURE WAS UNUSUALLY MILD THAT DAY, 75 DEGREES RATHER THAN TEENS OR 20S. NOT SURE IF THE EXPLOSION WAS OVERNIGHT OR IN THE MORNING. THERE WAS NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE OR ANY DOWNED BRANCHES NEARBY. GLASS BROKE OUTWARD, NOT INWARD.

BOUGHT VEHICLE NEW, AND ITS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD NOW - THE TRUNK LATCH BREAKS REPEATEDLY LEAVING THE TRUNK UNABLE TO BE CLOSED OR LOCKED. ITS BEEN SERVICED 3 TIMES, WITH NEW PARTS ISSUED AND TESTED AND 'FIXED' EACH TIME, AND SAME ISSUES REPEATS ITSELF. THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED I COUNTED 9 USES BEFORE THE ISSUE REPEATED, THIS MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE WAS ABOUT 2 WEEKS AFTER NEW PARTS ISSUED: IT WAS USED 3 TIMES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND STALLED. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL WHISTLING NOISE EMERGING FROM THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NISSAN OF NORWICH (691 W THAMES ST, NORWICH, CT 06360, (860) 892-6000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THERE WAS METAL IN THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 35185453. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD ASSIST WITH SIXTY PERCENT OF THE REPAIR COSTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.

ABOUT HALF-WAY THROUGH A HIGHWAY ROAD TRIP FROM DALLAS TO HOUSTON, MY VEHICLE BEGAN AUTOMATICALLY DECELERATING FROM 85MPH TO 70MPH ALTHOUGH MY FOOT PRESSED HARD ON THE ACCELERATOR. I ACTIVATED CRUISE CONTROL AT 70MPH, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO DECELERATE ALTHOUGH CRUISE CONTROL WAS ACTIVATED AND DISPLAYED BENEATH THE SPEEDOMETER. WHEN THE CAR'S SPEED DROPPED FROM 70MPH TO 60MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, I TOOK THE NEAREST EXIT IN CENTERVILLE, TEXAS AND STOPPED AT THE GAS STATION TO TURN MY CAR OFF THEN ON AGAIN. THE CAR CONTINUED TO DECELERATE, REACHING ONLY 45MPH AS I ENTERED THE BUSY HIGHWAY YET AGAIN. AFTER 15 MINUTES, THE CAR BEGAN ACCELERATING TO 60MPH. AFTER STRUGGLING WITH THE CAR'S SPEED FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES, EVERYTHING RETURNED TO NORMAL AND THE CAR BEGAN ACCELERATING TO 85MPH ONCE AGAIN.

UPON ACCELERATING THE CAR MAKES A AWFUL CLUNKING NOISE THAT IS NOT ONLY HEARD BUT FELT ON THE FLOOR UNDER YOUR FEET THIS HAPPENS OFTEN. THE DEALER STATED THIS WAS NORMAL. SUMMER 2013 ,WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 60 MPH, SOME TIRE DEBRIS OFF AN 18 WHEELER TRUCK TIRE WAS ON MY LANE,, TO AVOID HITTING IT AND OR THE VEHICLES NEXT TO ME I LOOKED INTO MY REAR VIEW MIRROR TO CHECK FOR CARS BEHIND ME AND MADE A SUDDEN SLOW DOWN, BUT NOT A COMPLETE STOP,,I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL TO GO AROUND THE DEBRIS AND THE ENGINE REVVED UP, BUT THE CAR DID NOT MOVE. IT TOOK THE CVT TRANSMISSION SEVERAL SECONDS TO CATCH UP TO THE ENGINE, BEFORE THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE AGAIN..I TOLD A SERVICE MANAGER AT IPOC NISSAN DEALER IN SAN ANTONIO ABOUT THIS AND HE SEEMED TO BRUSH IT ASIDE, STATING THOSE THINGS HAPPENS WITH CVT'S. WHAT THE DEALER DID FIND WAS AN ENGINE OIL LEAK BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE, YOU CAN'T REALLY SEE THE OIL LEAK, BUT THE FACT THAT DUST COLLECTS AROUND IT INDICATED AND THE REST OF THE UNDERSIDE IS CLEANER. THE DEALER HAD TO REMOVE THE TRANSMISSION, PARTS CONNECTED TO IT,,FRONT AXLE ETC..THE FLYWHEEL TO REPLACE A DEFECTIVE REAR ENGINE MAIN OIL SEAL. THIS WAS AT ABOUT 7000 MILES INTO THIS NEW NISSAN SENTRA. ALSO I HAVE MADE COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS TO NISSAN AND IT'S DEALER OF THE HORRIBLE KNOCKING FROM THE ENGINE (2.0) ON START UPS. AND SOMEWHAT GETS QUIETER AFTER WARM-UP, BUT IS STILL PRESENT AT ABOUT 2000 RPM AND UP.. NISSAN HAS TIME AFTER TIME REFUSES TO ACCEPT THAT THEY HAVE A MECHANICAL PRODUCT DEFECT, INSTEAD THEY CLAIM THE KNOCKING IS COMING FROM THEIR FUEL INJECTORS, TO THE ABS BRAKES SYSTEMS,,TO THE TRUNK LID..THESE ARE THE EXCUSES THEY HAVE TOLD ME. I WOULD NOT LIKE TO PASS ON THESE PROBLEMS TO SOME OTHER PERSON IF I GET RID OF THIS NEW CAR,,WHAT I WOULD LIKE NISSAN TO DO IS MAKE GOOD ON THEIR PRODUCT, THEIR ADVERTISING ON TV, RADIO, AND OTHER MEDIA IS DECEIVING AND NISSAN IS TRYING TO AVOID HAVING TO FIX THEIR PROBLEMS. "CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUES" 2012 NISSAN SENTRA SR 2.0L WITH 103,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND MAINTAINED ADEQUATELY SINCE GETTING THE VEHICLE IN 2013. FOR THE LAST SIX MONTHS, I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING MY VEHICLE LOSS OF ACCELERATION ON ONLY BEING ABLE TO GO 10 MPH MAX WHEN MY VEHICLE GOES INTO LIMP MODE. THIS HAPPENS TO ME ON THE INTERSTATE 64 WESTBOUND FROM RICHMOND, VA TO HARRISBURG, VA GOING UPHILL WHERE I WAS GOING 70 - 75 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE LOSS ACCELERATION AND MY SPEED DROPPED DRAMATICALLY ALMOST CAUSING A WRECK. THIS IS DUE TO BEING IN THE LEFT LANE AND HAVING NOWHERE I COULD PULL OFF THE INTERSTATE READILY AVAILABLE. IT APPEARS NISSAN HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION FROM THEIR 2007 - 2010 SENTRA AND ISSUED AN EXTENDED TEN YEAR - 120,000 MILES WARRANTY. IN THE FIRST INCIDENT, I CAME OUT FROM SEEING A MOVIE AND I COULD NOT GET MY CAR OUT OF PARK. A FRIEND CAME TO TRY TO HELP AND GOT IT INTO NEUTRAL BUT IT WOULD NOT SHIFT ANY FURTHER. WHEN APPROACHING A RED LIGHT AND STOPPING QUICKLY, THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED EVEN THOUGH I WAS GOING 10 MILES PER HOUR AT 1000 RPM, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, OIL LIGHT, BATTERY LIGHT AND SEAT BELT LIGHT ALL TURNED ON. MY NISSAN SENTRA HAS 85,000 MILES ON IT AND MY TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY BROKEN. THE CVT TRANSMISSION THEY PUT IN MY CAR HAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY IN IT FOR KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH IT. I WAS DRIVING WITH MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY WHEN IT STOPPED MOVING AND I HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART IT. WHEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE T AGAIN WOULD NOT MOVE. I FINALLY GOT IT TO MOVE TO WHERE I GOT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY TOLD ME MY TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY BROKEN. I TOOK IT TO NISSAN AND THEY ARE NOT GOING TO HELP MY FIX IT 100% FULLY KNOWING THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION THEY PUT IN THE CAR HAS PROBLEMS. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO GO TO WORK, THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR WOULD REV BUT WOULDN'T GO FASTER. I PURCHASED MY SENTRA NEW IN MARCH 2012. AT THAT TIME, MY GAS MILEAGE WAS NORMAL, AND AS ADVERTISED. WITHIN THE YEAR, I WENT FROM 30MPG AVERAGE TO 27. EVERY YEAR SINCE THEN, IT HAS GRADUALLY GOTTEN WORSE, AND I AM NOW DOWN TO 23MPG, REGARDLESS OF THE TYPE OR GRADE OF GAS I USE. IT'S ACTUALLY WORSE WITH PREMIUM GAS. I HAVE DONE ALL MAINTENANCE ON THE CAR ON TIME, REGULAR OIL CHANGES, ETC. I'VE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES, AND THEY CLAIM TO FIND NO PROBLEMS WITH IT.

While traveling down the interstate doing the normal speed limit, I was forced to pull over to the emergency lane so cars can pass me. My car lost power to the engine without notice. No check system engine lights were not activated during this time. Car and Trucks were having to swerve over in other lanes to keep from rear ending me and causing a major wreck. This happen several weeks ago again with no lights lighting up on dash. I was able to pull over for a few minutes and restart the car and it was back to normal. I looked things up online and took my car into a repair shop to let me know the problem, They stated that they have seen this issue with Nissan vehicles. It is the CVT transmission issue. The loss of power comes from the CVT fluid getting too hot and reduces power to save the CVT transmission, I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra that was Manufactured 6/2012.

I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 2 YEARS. EVERY YEAR, AS IT STARTS TO WARM UP IN THE SPRING, THE SAME PROBLEM RECURS. I HAVE HAD IT TO SEVERAL REPAIR SHOPS, ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT IT CANNOT BE FIXED. AS I AM DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, IT WILL SUDDENLY START TO DECELERATE, AND I MUST PULL OFF THE ROAD AND LET THE CAR SIT, TURNED OFF, FOR 20-40 MINUTES. LAST WEEK, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND WHEN I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER, THEY WANT $3000 TO FIX THE CAR. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE THE FIRST SUMMER AFTER I BOUGHT IT.

While driving on the freeway pulling approximately 70 miles per hour, my car will begin to shake violently, continuously decelerate and my RPMs drop significantly. I am unable to go over 55 miles per hour when this happens. This has happened to me a total of four times now within the last 2 months. I had my car take this one auto repair shop in which my spark plugs were changed out a brand new air intake hose was put in my coils were changed out and everything. Today while driving on the freeway, going 72 mph my car decelerated and would not go above 55. This is a major safety issue considering I drive on the freeway a lot. I just paid $970 to have my car fixed and can't continue to pay to have the car fixed along with still paying a car note and insurance on this car. Well researching transmission issues I came across this page when filing a complaint. I looked to see if there was a recalls on my car and noticed that there is not. The rearview mirror fell off the windshield and was hanging by the wires, which was found when entering the vehicle to drive; when touched, the wires and everything fell the rest off the way off the windshield. Glass from the windshield broke off with the rearview mirror. This was hazardous to be missing while driving and has prevented visibility and impacted safety. A mechanic is repairing the vehicle and has never seen anything like this issue, but upon looking up this specific problem, it appears many Nissan Sentra owners have experienced the same issue.

Our nissan Sentra with 106K miles the car lost nearly all power as my son was turning onto the freeway. He could only drive 16 miles an hour and it was hopping and jumping through a 8 lane freeway/highway intersection while he tried to get into a parking lot off the road. He turned it off, waited 5 minutes, and turned it back on, but it was still slowly hopping and jumping. After another 10 minutes my husband drove it for about 10 minutes and it operated normally. This same behavior happened in 2019 with 82k miles at a large intersection. It suddenly lost power and slowly hopped through the intersection. At 60k the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel quit working. When we asked the Nissan Dealership about it, we were told that was typical and it would slowly lose all the functionality of the steering wheel controls. All the functionality was gone by 70k miles. We have learned that Nissan's transmissions are very problematic and these situations are typical as you get closer to 120k miles. We planned to have this car for several more years. If we sell it and buy a different car we are out several thousand dollars or if we keep it we will likely have to pay for a new transmission also several thousand dollars.

When driving at 70 or above mph for a long distances, speed automatically declines to 60 mph and will not increase. When trying to accelerate, nothing happens. After a few miles, my vehicle then starts to accelerate on its own. The problem is extremely unsafe and frightening, especially with express highway traveling. Ive traveled out of state and the past 6 months when I've moticed this now frequent problem. I informed my mechanic who said it could be my transmission or possibly fuel pump, which are not his areas. He advised talk to NISSAN and stated Nissan is known for faultly transmission s on Sentras. Mines is a 2012 with only 126k of mileage. Was was there no recalls on this? I will now see what Dealer has to say. What can be done to hold Nissan responsible? I 've screenshot an article regarding many complaints on this. Now my transmission seems to have my engine feeling like it is not in drive gear. I am making an appointment w/ NISSAN ASAP.Please respond.

The contact stated she had to leave a window down to be able to manually open the door from the inside. The contact stated she had experienced the failure on multiple occasions. THIS HAPPENS TO ME ON THE INTERSTATE 64 WESTBOUND FROM RICHMOND, VA TO HARRISBURG, VA GOING UPHILL WHERE I WAS GOING 70 - 75 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE LOSS ACCELERATION AND MY SPEED DROPPED DRAMATICALLY ALMOST CAUSING A WRECK. THIS IS DUE TO BEING IN THE LEFT LANE AND HAVING NOWHERE, I COULD PULL OFF THE INTERSTATE READILY AVAILABLE. TO ME, THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN AS THIS IS HAPPENING NOW AFTER BEING DRIVEN FOR 30 MINUTES TO AN HOUR. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MIDAS WHERE I HAD THEM RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON THE CAR TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY CODES ON THE CAR SINCE THERE IS "NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON." THE TECHNICIAN CAME BACK WITH THE FOLLOWING: 'TECH FOUND THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS HAVING INTERNAL PROBLEMS-VEHICLE US NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. TECH FOUND CODE P1722 EST VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL, P0744 AT TR SW FUNCTION, P1778 STEP MOTOR. ALSO, VEHICLE NEEDS FRONT STRUTS AND REAR SHOCKS - NO CONTROL OF STEERING WHEEL.' IT APPEARS NISSAN HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION FROM THEIR 2007 - 2010 SENTRA AND ISSUED AN EXTENDED TEN YEAR - 120,000 MILES WARRANTY. NISSAN NEEDS TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY TO EVERY YEAR THAT NISSAN HAS USED THE CVT TRANSMISSION AS THEY ARE UNRELIABLE AND EVENTUALLY WILL CAUSE A FATAL ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAYS WITH THEIR TRANSMISSION GOING INTO LIMP MODE.WOULD LIKE MY VEHICLE ADDED TO THE CVT EXTENDED WARRANTY - 10 YEARS + 120,000 MILES SINCE MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES AS THE 2007 - 2010 VEHICLES. AFTER A 1.5-2 HOUR DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY, MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 60 MPH. IT DROVE FINE AFTER GETTING HOME AND GETTING SOME REST. NO LIGHTS CAME ON THIS FIRST. SIMILAR EVENT HAPPENED A COUPLE WEEKS LATER - MUCH SHORTER DRIVE APPROX. 20 MINUTES, SLOWER SPEEDS, BUT MAIN INCLINES. NO LIGHTS CAME ON, NO SOUNDS OR SMELLS EITHER. ONCE I WAS IN TOWN DRIVING ON NORMAL ROADS IT WAS FINE AGAIN. THEN I DROVE IT BACK HOME, SAME THING HAPPENED BUT MORE EXTREME. I TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN BOULDER COLORADO. IN DOING SO I FOUND OUT THAT ALL NISSANS HAD A WARRENTY RECALL TO PUT IN A CVT COOLER PART. A FEATURE THAT ALL NISSANS NEED TO INSURE THE POSSIBILTY OF LONG DISTANCE TRAVEL WITHOUT THE TRANSMISSION OVER HEATING AND NOT ACCELERATING PROPERLY. THE DEALERSHIP THEN INFORMED ME THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED IF I HAD BROUGHT IT IN BEFORE IT WAS OVER 60,000 MILES. NOW THAT IT IS HOWEVR, IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY OVER $800 FOR A PART MY CAR SHOULD HAVE COME WITH. I CALLED NISSAN NOTH AMERICA TO FIND RESALUTION, THEY CLOSED THE CASE AND WILL NOT HELP ME. AFTER THE ALIGNMENT WAS DONE I WAS INFORMED THE "SPECS" WERE FINE AND THE TECHNICIAN MENTIONED THIS COULD ALSO BE ROAD CROWN OR TORQUE PULL WHICH IS NORMAL FOR FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES. ?? I ASKED FOR A SECOND LOOK, THIS TIME THE SERVICE MANAGER WENT WITH ME FOR THE TEST DRIVE AND NOTICED THE DRIFTING AND KEPT THE VEHICLE. THEY DID ANOTHER ALIGNMENT (2ND) SPECS OK AND REPLACE THE OEM TIRES WITH A KNOCK- OFF SET.THE VEHICLE IS STILL DRIFTING. I INFORMED NISSAN AT THIS POINT TO SEE IF THEY CAN STEP IN. THEY RECOMMENDED TAKING IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP, THIRD ALIGNMENT. SPECS OK . I CONTINUED MY COMPLAINT WITH THE NISSAN REP. AND THEY HAD A ENGINEER COME OUT TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. FOURTH ALIGNMENT. THIS PROCESS HAS TAKEN TWO AND HALF MONTHS, FOUR ALIGNMENTS, THREE SEPARATE OPINIONS OF THE DRIFTING ISSUE AND OTHER THAN A REPLACEMENT OF A SET OF KNOCK-OFF TIRES THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST.. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT NISSAN IS NOT WILLING TO FIX. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE WOULD EXHIBIT AN ABNORMAL CLICKING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE REAR AXLE BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TRUNK WAS DEFECTIVE AND HAD AN OPEN SPACE ON THE LEFT SIDE WHEN CLOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,834.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THE LOCK ON THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE DUE TO A GAP NEAR THE LOCK. THE REAR SUSPENSION MADE A CLICKING NOISE WHEN THE BRAKE OR THE ACCELERATOR PEDALS WERE DEPRESSED. THERE WAS ALSO A GRINDING NOISE AS THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED PREVENTING THE CONTACT FROM STOPPING THE VEHICLE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AT LEAST THREE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,700.

SEAT BELT CHIME ON VEHICLE DOES NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED IN OWNER'S MANUAL. CHIME IS SUPPOSED TO FUNCTION/SOUND TO LET DRIVER KNOW SEAT BELT IS UNFASTENED BUT DOES NOT WORK. NISSAN SAY THE CHIME IS UNIMPORTANT AND IT IS NO LONGER A FEATURE EVEN THOUGH IT IS ADVERTISED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL TO WORK. I CONSIDER IT AN IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE TO ENSURE MY KIDS BUCKLE UP AND EXPECT IT TO WORK AS ADVERTISED. I WAS TOLD BY THE NISSAN SERVICE TECH'S AND SALES PERSON THAT IT CAN BE REPROGRAMMED BUT NISSAN ARE NOT WILLING TO DO THIS. I FEEL THIS FEATURE SHOULD WORK AS IT IS ADVERTISED AS WORKING AND IT'S AN IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE TO ENSURE DRIVER'S FASTEN THEIR SEAT BELT. NISSAN HAVE ALSO REFUSED TO RESPOND THROUGH EMAIL WITH AN EXPLANATION TO MY INQUIRY THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE. OTHER NISSAN MODELS HAVE THIS FEATURE WORKING. *TR

I JUST PURCHASED A BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT 2012 NISSAN SENTRA IMMEDIATLY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP UPON LEAVING TOLD THEM THE ALIGNMENT WAS OFF THEY SAID TO BRING IT IN AND THEY WOULD REALIGN THE CAR, IN THE MEANTIME WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES THE CAR WANTS TO KEEP GOING AND THROUGHS ITSELF INTO ANOTHER GEAR WHERE IT WOULD LUNG FORWARD, WHICH MEANS I AM HAVING TO PRESS ON THE BRAKES HARDER IN ORDER NOT TO BE THROWN INTO TRAFFIC. I TOOK THE CAR IN AND AT FIRST THEY COULD NOT DUPLICAT THE PROBLEM THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT IS THE TRANSMISSION THAT NEEDS TO BE REPALCED WHY IS IT A BRAND NEW CAR NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION??? NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL EXTEND THE WARRANTY FOR ME REALLY! WOW WHY SHOULD THE WARRANTY BE EXTENDED WHEN I HAVE A BRAND NEW CAR I KEEP ASKING FOR A NEW SENTRA JUST SWITCH IT OUT MAKE LIFE EASY ON US ALL.

THE CAR WHILE TRYING TO MAKE A SOFT STOP SUDDENLY COMES TO AN ABRUPT STOP. WHILE RELEASING THE BRAKE THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPS HARD AND CAUSES THE CAR TO LURCHES FORWARD. THE SYSTEM OF THE CAR SEEMS TO WANT TO STOP THE CAR HARD ON SYSTEMS OWN DECISION.
