The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. In addition, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, the gear shift lever was stuck on drive(D). The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that prior to the failure, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine, with the RPM fluctuating. The contact stated that on another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine. The vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the message "Low Oil Pressure" was displayed. The RPM increased with an abnormal sound coming from the alternator. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired after the most recent failure. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact coasted to the side of the road and failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to Auto ER with Giaco, where a mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with transmission failure. CVT transmission. On my way to work at 7:40 am I was stopped at a light and when it turned green I pressed the gas, but instead of going I heard a bang noise and the car wouldn't go. I tried turning the car off and back on and it still wouldn't go in drive or low. However it will go in reverse. I called my Local dealer at Bayshore Nissan NY. The service writer told me the extended warranty expired Between June and July. My car is a 2017 Nissan Sentra with 54,474 miles. And I’m still making payments until September of this year.

While reverse parking into a single parking space at my apartment complex, the driver-side airbag deployed unexpectedly without any collision or impact. At the time of the incident, the vehicle was moving at a low speed and there were no warning lights, messages, or alerts prior to the airbag deployment. The airbag deployment struck me in the face and right arm, creating an immediate risk of injury. Following the deployment, the vehicle became non-drivable. The vehicle would not accelerate and would not move forward or in reverse when the accelerator pedal was pressed, indicating a possible electronic or powertrain safety system failure. There were no prior incidents, accidents, or modifications to the vehicle before this event. The vehicle was operating normally immediately prior to the airbag deployment. The failure occurred suddenly and without warning. The vehicle and deployed airbag are available for inspection upon request. At the time of this report, the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer. Inspection by insurance and/or authorized service personnel is pending. This unexpected airbag deployment and subsequent loss of vehicle control posed a serious safety risk, both due to the physical injury caused by the airbag and the sudden inability to operate the vehicle.

The contact researched and became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V253000 (Air Bags); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was taken back to the place of residence. A dealer was contacted and referred the contact to the manufacturer to confirm if the VIN was included in the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 103,200.

On 12-30-2021 I was at a red light. A car had hit me from behind, which ended up as lost. I ended up with facial damage that took me half of 2020l2 to heal. Three stitches to my face. When I went to retrieve my items from the car it was unrecognizable. The trunk was in the backseat. Tire damage and no airbags deployed . I was wearing a seat belt that lead to buries on my upper arms and back area.

The airbag sensor shows off x 2, meaning both airbags will not deploy in case of an accident. This started around June 2022. I thought it was a fluke and would eventually turn off on its own. It’s been taken to Sutherlin Nissan here in Orlando, FL for service with the light on, and no mention was ever made of it; I assumed they didn’t think it was a big deal, so I dismissed it. I then heard about airbag recalls affecting Nissans a year older then mine, but since I’m having the same issue, I felt it should be reported. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

I recently purchased this certified pre owned car at garden state Honda in Clifton NJ, and in less than 4 months the transmission gave up. I called them and i was told its not within warranty. I find this unprofessional. Obviously this transmission had been defective and they still sold it without fixing it. The car is sitting at the shop coz the cost to fix is enormous and my son is having a hard time to go to work and school. Please help me how to go about this legally.

I traveled from Texas to Kentucky last year and the transmission went out 4 hours before reaching my destination. My warranty replaced the transmission. Last month I traveled from Kentucky to Texas and again the transmission went out and this time fluid was spilled everywhere 6 hours from reaching my destination.

My CVT transmission is going out, causing my car to struggle to accelerate. This could potentially cause a safety issue if the car just dies randomly or the transmission does blow and I get hit on a busy road or something. Yes the vehicles been inspected by a couple different shops and both said I need a new transmission which is about $5-6k and I’m a single mother of 2 kids (3 y/o and 3 m/o) and have no reliable transportation as of right now so I can’t work.

My mechanic informed me in 2022 that my transmission was going out on my 2017 Nissan Sentra. I took it to Hawk Nissan in St Charles, IL for a 2nd opinion and they informed me that my transmission was not going out. Fast forward to [XXX] after the check engine light came on now all of a sudden I need a cvt transmission for about $6,000. I contacted Nissan as I did in 2022 and now they tell me because the car is way out of the mileage time frame there is nothing they can do. I have a 2017 Nissan Sentra SV Thai is affected by the Stop Lamp Switch recall in 2021. I have had the problem repaired in 6/21 and again in 7/22. The same issue is happening again with the Stop Lamp Switch. The Traction Control Light will light up for no reason whatsoever and stay lit until the car shuts off. The car will end up in a No Start Condition until I wiggle the Stop Lamp Switch. The Stop Lamp Switch has failed for the third time and the recall remedy from Nissan does not work.

My transmission on my 2017 Nissan Sentra failed not once but twice. I got it repaired to the tune of $4500 and then it failed again a year later and they wanted $7000. I am a single mother working very hard and this set me back TREMENDOUSLY! I have been struggling financially to keep a roof over my head because i no longer have a vehicle to get back and forth to work i am at risk of losing my job due to attendance. I was paying a car note at the time and i paid the car off in full only to have this happen to me. I am truly at a loss for words and this is beyond unfair. No one seems to be able to help. It stopped on me in the middle of driving down the expressway. Transmission shuttered and my car lost acceleration. Worst experience of my life.

To Whom it May Concern, I am writing because there has been transmission issues that my 2017 Nissan Sentra SV has been experiencing since I purchased the car brand new on 04/22/2017. I have documentation of me taking it back to Nissan within the first year due to shaking, overheating and a problem accelerating. Nissan has continued to put a bandaid on the cause and has not addressed the real issue in which is the transmission. There are many articles and court documentation of the Nissan CVT Transmission giving people problems in which have bought their cars from 2013-2017/2018. I have taken my car to Nissan and they refuse to address the faulty transmission or pay for any of the repairs. I have documentation over the years from accredited mechanics in which report that the transmission needs. They are trying to charge me over $7,000 for a transmission repair when they are the reason in which it went out to begin with. My car continuted to jerk while driving and stopped while driving in which put myself and others at risk. The dealer acknowledged the recall on CVT transmission and their faulty parts but did not fix it. There was NO warning light or lamos that went off prior to this going out and leaving me stranded on the side of the road. My car was looked at in April of 2024 at Nissan and was told there was no Transmission issues then i come in and all of a sudden they state it needs to be replaced.

The contact was instructed by the mechanic to replace the key fob battery, but the failure persisted. The dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 139,401.

After shifting to drive and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle lost motive power and failed to accelerate above 35 MPH. The contact stated that the check engine and traction control light warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. However, the contact stated that the fuel pump and accelerator pedal sensor were previously replaced, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Intermittent ignition switch failure. Presents as little to no power. Vehicle will not crank over. Minimal lights come on dash board, no digital readout, dim lights inside vehicle. Eventually car starts with no problem after several tries. I have excluded battery, alternator, grounding issues, wiring issues, fuses. This is similar to a recall issued for other Nissan Sentras made in the same year.

The manufacturer installed anti-theft measures that became broken. Nissan’s “immobilizer” system can not tell the difference between false theft and real theft. I read many people were locked out of their vehicles because the only way to unlock the anti theft system is by paying Nissan. Now I’m unable to drive my car sometimes because it may locked me or my battery dies due to the lightning blinking for hours.

I had turned my car on after work and i had a light turn on my dashboard marking “PS” indicating there was an issue with the power steering. I turned off my car and turned it back on the light went away so i began driving home. As I was driving the same light turned on and the car shut off but was still going, I was unable to accelerate but i was able to brake. The steering wheel was locked and unable to be moved. Thankfully the roads were clear otherwise it would have been a terrible accident.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2017 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON PARKING HIS VEHICLE, HIS WORK BUILDING WAS EVACUATED DUE TO FIRE. UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT HIS VEHICLE HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE AND THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED. A FIRE AND POLICE REPORT WERE BOTH FILED; NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AT THE SCENE. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY DETERMINED THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY AN ELECTRICAL DEFECT. THE CONTACT CALLED AN UNKNOWN NISSAN DEALER WHERE THEY REFERRED HIM TO THE INDEPENDENT DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Low beam headlight failed. It is available for inspection. Drove car with only one low beam headlight. Not safe. Yes. Confirmed by independent service center. Had independent mechanic perform a pre-purchase inspection. They advised that my passenger side low beam headlight was out but they they would not be able to repair it quickly because it required removing the front bumper and removing the headlight assembly. Manufacturer, police, insurance not involved. Warning message stated that there was a headlight system error. Here's what I want you to consider. My mechanic advised that the list price for the headlight assembly is $1,100 and the labor to put the headlight in was $300. They said that there is no access to the low beam LED headlight bulb. The assembly had to be replaced. I could afford to pay $1,400 to replace a light bulb, but many people could not afford it and would do without. I only paid $6,500 for this car with 130,000 miles on it. My suggestion is that auto manufacturers should be required to design headlights so that they can be economically maintained. I was able to find an assembly for $342 and install it myself. Not everyone would be able to do that.

The continuously variable transmission (CVT) in my vehicle failed prematurely, leading to significant safety concerns. The car experienced severe jerking, hesitation, and loss of power while driving, especially at highway speeds. Eventually, the transmission stopped functioning properly, making it unsafe to drive. There were no warning lights, messages, or dashboard indicators to alert me of any issues before the failure. A dealership confirmed that the transmission fluid was burnt, contaminated with metal shavings, and the internal components had failed. However, due to the vehicle’s design, the CVT fluid is sealed and inaccessible to consumers for routine checks or maintenance, meaning the issue was undetectable until complete failure occurred. This defect poses a serious risk, as many drivers have reported sudden power loss, delayed acceleration, and unexpected breakdowns in traffic. Nissan has had a history of CVT failures in previous models, leading to warranty extensions, but similar issues persist in newer models without proper acknowledgment. If left unaddressed, this could lead to more drivers experiencing dangerous situations on the road.

The CVT seems to shudder uncontrollably when accelerating from zero and also when driving at 60mph on the interstate. The RPMs fluctuate erratically and spontaneously when traveling at 60mph or higher. Yes, the car can be inspected upon request-it does the shuddering every time it accelerates from zero. My safety and the passengers safety is at risk if the car were to stop functioning while driving on interstate. Yes, the problem has been reproduced by a local service center. No, the problem has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representative. Would like to have the car inspected by the above if it were at no cost to me since it's a Nissan CVT issue. No, warning lamps or messages are on the dash. Problems began to appear in 2021.

The CVT has failed in my car causing multiple issues with jerking, shaking, stuttering. When i was making a left turn, my car hesitated and almost caused an accident because I didnt have the power to pull out when I should have. Now the repair is being quoted over $5k because they are saying I need an all new transmission. No warning lamps, messages have been indicated on my dash

Transmission stalled out when I was on the Rt 30 bypass. I was traveling at 55 miles per hour in rush hour and the car suddenly would not go forward. Causing sudden traffic issues. This is a known problem with 2017 sentras. Exton Nissan sold me this vehicle knowing it's unsafe. I've trying to get in touch with them for a month about this. I'm seeking for them to buy back this unsafe and dangerous car

Called Nissan headquarters in Tennessee on 18 December 23. Many calls to Nissan headquarters latest call on 24 January 24 received claim no. [XXX] . Nissan insists is warranty expired. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 3AM ON MY WAY TO WORK AT 60 MPH AND THE HOOD OF THE CAR RELEASED AND FLEW OPEN AND SLAMMED INTO MY WINDSHIELD WITH HIGH IMPACT. IF NOT FOR THE TIME AND LESS TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD THIS COULD HAVE BEEN TRAGIC. I WAS ABLE TO GUIDE MY WAY ONTO THE SHOULDER AND CALL A TOW TRUCK.

MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN ANOTHER CAR STRUCK THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR BUMPER. THE ENTIRE QUARTER PANEL WAS CAVED IN AND THE BUMPER ALMOST KNOCKED OFF, THE TAIL LIGHT SHATTERED AS WELL. THE ESTIMATED DAMAGE IS OVER 3500.00. THIS SEEMS HIGHLY UNSAFE AS THE CAR IS LITERALLY PLASTIC, WE HAD KNOW WARNING NOR INFORMED THE CAR WAS SO EASILY DAMAGED AND COULD POTENTIALLY TAKE A LIFE OR INJURE A PERSON SEVERELY. SINCE THE CAR WAS PARKED WHEN THE DAMAGE OCCURRED AND IT WAS DONE BY A CAR BACKING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT AT A SLOW RATE OF SPEED WE FEEL UNSAFE IN THIS CAR NOW AND WANT NISSAN TO FIX THIS PROBLEM OR TRADE OUR CAR FOR A STABLE CAR NOT A DEATH TRAP. WE LIVE IN UTAH AND PEOPLE DRIVE LIKE PSYCHOS.

MY CAR HAS STARTED ACTING CONFUSED WITH THE GEAR SHIFTS. IT'S ALMOST LIKE I AM REPEATINGLY PUTTING IT IN DRIVE THEN NEUTRAL THEN SPORTS MODE WHEN I AM NOT DOING ANYTHING JUST TRYING TO DRIVE. THE CAR STRUGGLES TO PICK UP SPEED AND 'GIDDY UP' WHEN I ACCELERATE. IT GETS WORSE WHEN I GO UP HILL OR OVER 40 MPH. I WAS TOLD IT'S VERY DANGEROUS AND NOW HAVE TO GET THE TRANSMISSION LOOKED AT PER THE DIAGNOSIS.

WHEN AT A STANDSTILL OR MOVING AT LOW SPEED, WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IF FULLY DEPRESSED IT INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT STOP ACCELERATING DESPITE THE REMOVAL OF PRESSURE ON SAID ACCELERATOR. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE UNCONTROLLABLY. ONLY BY CONSTANTLY ENGAGING THE ACCELERATOR IN A VIOLENT MANNER DOES THE VEHICLE FINALLY CEASE ACCELERATING. THIS CONDITION HAS CAUSED SOME EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS INCLUDING HAVING TO PLACE THE TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL WHILE BRAKING AND PULLING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY UNTIL THE ACCELERATOR DISENGAGED AND THE ENGINE CEASED RACING AT THE VERY HIGHEST RPM.

WHEN DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET, THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL DISENGAGE ON ITS OWN. WHEN IT DISENGAGES ON ITS OWN, THE VEHICLE SPEED DROPS AS MUCH AS 10 MPH IN 1 TO 2 SECONDS. ALSO WHEN IT DISENGAGES ON ITS OWN, THE TACHOMETER WILL BLIP UP AND DOWN BEFORE THE ENGINE RESTORES THE POWER TO THE WHEELS.

WE PURCHASED A USED 2017 NISSAN SENTRA IN APRIL 2019. IT CURRENTLY HAS 49,000 MILES ON IT, AND FOR THE PAST THREE MONTHS THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH INTERMITTENT SOFT BRAKES. THE PEDAL WILL GO ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. MECHANIC HAD PROBLEMS DIAGNOSING IT BECAUSE IT WAS INTERMITTENT. FINALLY HE REPLICATED THE ISSUE AND FLUSHED AIR OUT OF THE BRAKE LINES. BRAKES WORKED PROPERLY FOR A FEW DAYS, AND THEN ISSUE STARTED UP AGAIN. STILL TRYING TO GET THE MECHANIC TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM.

PERIODICALLY THE ABS LIGHT WILL TURN ON, WHILE DRIVING ON MULTIPLE TYPES OF ROADS, FOR NO REASON AND WILL NOT TURN OFF UNTIL CAR IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. THIS BEGAN APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR AGAIN IN 2019 AND HAS CONTINUALLY GOTTEN WORSE AND WON'T START DAILY. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME MY CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THEREFORE WOULD BE AN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. AT THE TIME THE ISSUE BEGAN MY CAR WAS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD. MY 2017 NISSAN SENTRA WITH 37,000 MILES WILL NOT START. I HAVE THE KEYLESS IGNITION AND WHEN I TRY TO START THE CAR I KEEP GETTING A MESSAGE TO PRESS THE BRAKES. It will be investigated by my insurance company, but this is what happened. I was taking a leisurely drive on a country road. Not much for shoulders and the trees aren't cut back far enough. I was going straight. The vehicle decided to take a 45 degree turn the right. Into the trees then flipping several times before finally coming to rest. The shoulder strap failed to lock, therefore my upper body took quite a beating including broken ribs because the side curtain doesn't cover the armrest. And the console took care of ribs in my right side. Full upper body whiplash. This is an issue unknown to most of the general public. Wish I had known. I have witnesses and police reports. I was driving normally. People who saw me when I drove past their houses said they were surprised to hear the crash. And we're very surprised that I was alive and had managed to ooze out right beside the vehicle. I didn't walk away. There was misdiagnosis at the hospital that the ambulance decided on their own to go to. And I was released. No wheelchair, nothing. No medicine. Just go away. I went to the ER in my hometown. Where the obvious injuries were diagnosed. The public needs to be aware just how dangerous electric steering is. The technology isn't ready. Just like phonebot answering service.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that his daughter was driving the vehicle and had it parked to clean the interior of the vehicle. While placing her hand on the steering wheel, the steering column became loosened. The contact had an independent mechanic arrive at the residence and inspected the vehicle and tightened a loosened linkage to bolt on the steering column. Several days later while the contact’s daughter was driving, the steering wheel loosened. The driver continued to drive until the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The driver's vehicle was then towed to the local dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000. The Vin was not available.

I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUES AS DESCRIBED IN 'SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM OF THE 2014 NISSAN SENTRA 49', WHICH WAS REPORTEDLY SIMILAR TO INVESTIGATION "PE14-014". WHILE DRIVING A RENTAL VEHICLE ON A HIGHWAY (LEFT LANE) AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, ALL OF A SUDDEN IT ACCELERATED AND IT WAS AS IF THE VEHICLE TOOK OVER THE STEERING - I COULD NOT KEEP THE STEERING WHEEL STRAIGHT AND THE CAR STARTED MOVING BETWEEN LANES AND EVENTUALLY I HIT THE GUARDING RAIL BY THE RIGHT LANE AND STOPPED. THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS VERY SCARY BUT I DID NOT HAVE A SCRATCH. I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AGAIN BUT I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED AS I WAS TOO SCARED TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. I THANK MY LUCKY STARS THAT THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES IN EITHER LANE DURING THE ACCIDENT OR I WOULD NOT BE WRITING THIS REPORT TODAY. I BELIEVE THE CAR ONLY HAD ABOUT 1500 KM. The dealerships have to take care of this issue and I need a car to get back and forth. I bought this car brand new in 2017. I need this issue addressed

On Friday October 22, 2021at about 320pm I was driving between the Ca central valley to the San Fernando Valley area over the grapevine. My vehicle began to surge with the rpm's reeving with little to none forward thrust. There were no warning lights, messages, alerts that illuminated. The vehicle seemed to be stuck in a high gear since driving at freeways speeds didn't appear have any issues, however getting up to freeway speed was something else. When I got to my destination in Agoura Hills, I was not able to drive up hill in any forward gear. I will have the vehicle looked at by a certified mechanic or a local dealership. I am aware that there are some Nissan Sentra models have had the same issue and recalls have been made, in reading the cvt recall information I believe my 2017 Sentra has experienced the same issues of the known recall. A search of my VIN only shows the light switch recall.

I was driving on the highway and saw that my RPM was fluctuating a lot even though on cruise control, it was losing its power. It started slowing down and even though cruise control was off, I was indeed in drive and not neutral. when I fully pressed the gas it did absolutely nothing. I was close to home 10 minutes so I had to just put emergency lights on and keep going but at the stop signs and lights sometimes it would stop completely and get stuck at 0 even though i was pressing the gas pedal all the way. Once I was going - it let me go, seemed like it allowed it. Then but never past 25 But anytime I slowed it almost shut off or did shut off. This is a safety issue since I am not able to drive the speed limit. I risk getting rear ended. There were no warning messages on my dash when this happened. I took the car to a mechanic, who stated I needed a new transmission. I bought a transmission and the mechanic replaced it. It was fine for a couple days then started having the same problem. I took it to Nissan to get it diagnosed and they stated that it was due to the transmission. Nissan stated the recall expired so they could not help me

Rpm’s spike up to high levels just to get up to 45/50. I have to let off gas & almost stall out to press gas to try & catch it into higher gear. This happens most the time, but not all. 45/50 but won’t go past 55/60mph, let alone 70-80 on I90/I94. & if it’s really bad then I have to be almost gas to the floor just to maintain any speed once up to 40/45++. Especially higher speeds. & other times O/D kicks in at random times random speeds & then I have to park or EMERGENCY park because reduction of speed won’t stay up, or will not even get to 55/60… I bought this car New March 2017. Maybe 10-20 miles. We had extended warranty. I told them multiple times about the recall & the studdering since a year of owning in 2018. They said they didn’t find anything or that they did the repair. Then during covid we didn’t have funds to have maintenance but about 6 months ago I told them to fix everything do all recalls, do the issues we thought & they agreed & then never did it. Now we aren’t in warranty. We put in 2g of repairs up keep, thought it was low price. But then said ok add in auto start & do the other fluffy stuff. Well… have 9-10 grand left & they wanted to buy it & get us into another 450 car loan. We refused. & repeatedly asked why the recalls & repairs seem to have never been done. & Nissan in crystal lake IL where we have been doing business with for years now claim that the only recall is for the break lights…. & that it’s my fault for doing 60 thousand miles before coming in… during covid… when this has been an issue. Nissan dealership bought, Nissan loan, Nissan warranty. & a solid 6 years at least just to be in a money pit because “no one knows what’s wrong”, it’s the not repairing while I was in warranty telling them the same things. Now I’m not in warranty and they want me to come in to buy a new Nissan from them again, & roll in the remaining balance ️ I don’t feel safe with Nissan, let alone hulling my 2 children at/under 4… plus I use that car to work

PURCHASED MY CAR IN AUG. OF 2017. JAN. 2018 WAS THE FIRST OF 7 TIMES I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. CASE IS AT NISSAN NORTH AMERICA IN ARBITRATION WHERE THEY WANT TO 'COMPENSATE' ME $1500 TO ESSENTIALLY SHUT MY MOUTH. THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT LAG IN THE ACCELERATION NOT ONLY FROM A STANDSTILL , BUT ALSO WHILE IN MOTION TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO HIGHER SPEEDS. THE CAR WILL NOT GO FASTER THAN 55 MPH UP A HILL. WHEN THE CAR IS ON SLIGHT INCLINES THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER IN ATTEMPTING TO CLIMB AND THE ENGINE TACHOMETER READINGS CLIMBS WELL ABOVE THE DESIGNED RPM SPECIFICATIONS. THIS HAPPENS ON LEVEL GROUND. WHEN ACCELERATED FROM 45 MPH TO 55 MPH THE TACHOMETER WOULD APPROACH 6000 RPMS PRIOR TO SWITCHING GEAR. IT DOESN'T OCCUR 100% OF THE TIME, THE VEHICLE CONSISTENTLY REACHES CLOSE TO 6000 RPMS PRIOR TO SHIFTING TO A HIGHER GEAR. AS I DRIVE I ALSO START TO NOTICE A BURNING SMELL. MY CAR IS CONSUMING EXCESSIVE FUEL COMPARED TO ANOTHER 'LOANER' 2019 NISSAN SENTRA SV WHICH HAS THE SAME EXACT SPECIFICS. MY CAR REQUIRES 3 TIMES THE FUEL TO DRIVE A SIMILAR DISTANCE. My 2017 Nissan Sentra S has a very serious problem whenever my RPM reach 3.5 to 4.It starts jerking and I can't accelerate anymore,in one occasion after the jerking stop I couldn't drive no more than 5 miles per hour.i have checked for any visible issues but none. No warning lights come on, I carry a scanner with me OBD2 but it doesn't have any codes. I have gone online to find a solution but I'm coming across hundreds of people with the same issue but no solution.i called the dealer and I was told that since the car is salvaged there is nothing they can do The car still jerking I just to keep it under or at 3rpm but I can never get on the freeway due to this issue

Steering wheel went unsteady. All warning lights went off. Speedometer failed. Unable to shut off the engine and unable to detect key while having the key in place. My safety and others are at risk each time this happens due to not been able to have control of the vehicle speed while having unsteady steering wheel and not knowing of the possibility of breaks failing while trying to drive to a safe place. This has happen about 5-8 times this year. Nissan replaced the IPDM and has continue to failed multiple times after. They have not been able to detect the cause. I have records of each time it has happen and one of those times was while driving on highway. My life and others have been at risk.

I informed the Nissan dealers that the car was not running as smoothly as it should and asked them to check for issue(s) with the fuel filter/fuel system. They acted like they had never heard of a problem with the fuel SYSTEM/PUMP and did not check my car for the fuel system issues requested. Instead they told to use Premium Fuel when I noticed the issue. When the car failed to start Conicelli Nissan finally tested the fuel system they said the Fuel Pump needed to be replaced. and I would have to pay, even though there were known problems and Recalls for Nissan Sentra Fuel Pumps for over 20 years!!! The documentation proves that there have problems with Nissan Sentra FUEL PUMP PREMATURE FAILURES for 21 Years including 2017. The Recall Notice states : "If the Fuel Pump fails, the vehicle may stall without warning, increasing the risk of a CRASH" If you need any other documentation let me know. Over some period of time that I do not remember, months likely, my average fuel mileage started to go down. I started to then notice that I had a faint at first, then stronger, smell of gasoline, after filling up, that would linger for days. It would be inside and outside of my vehicle. I then got a loose fuel cap warning after filling up one day. It wouldn't be immediate but it would come the second time I started my car after filling up. It would keep coming back after each filling up. I just dealt with losing my fuel efficiency and the smell until January 2022, I noticed after a fill up it had actively leaked gasoline. A mechanic looked at my vehicle and says that the gasket at the top of my gas tank was completely flat instead of round and that it was leaking from there and had been for awhile due to the build up off debris he saw.

About 6 months ago I had the brake light switch repaired because my car wouldn’t start due to the brake lights not coming on. So yesterday I’m almost was rear ended due to m break lights not coming on, and then got stranded at midnight , by myself, out of town. Finally I put both of my feet on the break and pushed as hard as I could and it started. Called Nissan in Tracy, CA they stated there’s no fix and to have it towed there if it won’t start. Well what if someone slams into me? They also did not offer to change the switch like the safety recall states they should. This dealership has now put my safety and my children’s safety at risk.

I WAS DRIVING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THE CAR WOULD JUST SLOW DOWN OUT OF NOWHERE ON THE HIGHWAY. I COULDN'T GET THE CAR PAST 80 OR IT WOULD SHAKE. IF I STOPPED THE CAR OR EVEN SLOWED DOWN, (ANYWHERE, STREET OR HIGHWAY) THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE AT ALL. I WOULD BE PUSHING THE PEDAL ON THE FLOOR FOR 10 MINUTES JUST TO GET IT TO 5MPH. IF I WOULD GO UP A SMALL INCLINE, THE CAR WOULD ROLL BACK AND BARELY STOP ( ALMOST RESULTING IN SEVERAL POTENTIALLY FATAL COLLISIONS). AT TIMES MY REVERSE WOULDN'T EVEN WORK IF I COULDN'T PRESS THE GAS AND IF IT DID WORK THEN I COULDN'T DRIVE FROWARD. IT WOULD TAKE ME ALMOST 30 MINUTES TO GET HOME FROM WORK AND MY JOB IS EXACTLY 10 MINUTES IN A STRAIGHT LINE FROM MY HOUSE (ON THE STREET. NO HIGHWAY). IF THAT GIVES ANY PERSPECTIVE. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR AND STARTER ARE GREAT AND THAT THESE THINGS WERE NOT THE REASON WHY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS REMAINED ON. THE CAR IS ONLY 3YRS 11MNTHS OLD. I GET THE STANDARD OIL CHANGE BUT NISSAN HAS DISCONTINUED TO USE CONVENTIONAL OIL. WHICH IS THE RECOMMENDED OIL FOR MY CAR. I ALSO GET THE CAR SERVICED AS NEEDED. My car is an automatic 2017 with 58,000 miles. The car is having trouble shifting gears, trouble accelerating (it jerks and doesn’t speed up), leaks every fluid possible (oil, windshield wiper fluid, coolant), etc. I have taken it to two different mechanics to have a diagnostic performed (one specializing in transmission issues), both which said it was an internal transmission issue. The codes: P0846 - transmission fluid pressure sensor / switch B, C1130 - engine signal 1, and C1116 - stop lamp switch show up. I had an oil change performed and the very next day a leak was under my car (it was oil and a mix of another fluid - probably coolant). I also have had the O2 sensor fixed twice and the check engine light still throws the code that that sensor is not working. My transmission among with other internal systems are failing with only 58,000 miles. My car doesn’t accelerating and not shifting correctly is a danger because it could potentially stop on the middle of the road or highway while driving. Prior to this failure, the check engine light appeared but for the O2 sensor that had been replaced twice previously and a tail light out. Only took it in to get looked at because the jerking and lack of acceleration got so bad it was worrisome. The photo attached of the leak is the day after the oil had been changed. I can submit additional evidence as soon as the other diagnostics are available in writing.

I have called nissan usa and the nissan in newburgh to schedule an appointment for lamp switch recall and have not recieved any calls or communication back. At this point im scared that the lamp switch is affecting my transmission and I'm just getting the runaround from nissan so they don't have to take care of it. My car has episodes where is now doesn't start and I need to get a jump. My car also shifts out of gear while driving which is incredibly dangerous especially since I take the highway to work. Please let me know how to proceed

CONCERN: This is the second time the engine does not shut off. All warning lights go off, unsteady steering wheel and odometer/odograph failed. This is not just a malfunction issue it is a severe safety concern. Back in January of 2023 it happen for the first time and was told Control Unit IPDM, Engine Room needed to be replaced and it was. But once again while driving the steering wheel went unsteady, all warning lights went off, odometer/odograph failed while on the road. This is an extremely safety concern. I bought the car brand new and as of now it has not been in any car accidents.

on acceleration to 60 mph or more noted moments of jerky/hesitation as if shifting gears- evaluation by dealership x2- they noted the same thing....could not fix the problem was told to bring back once engine light comes on or sensor code is generated in their computer system which checks the transmission. Awareness that this is a transmission problem. a month later car fails to increase speed to 50mph going up a small incline...driving over a mountainous pass.....then as got to a straightaway it had to shift down to 20-30 mph due to weather conditions and traffic- then the RPM keep wavering would not be steady at this lower mph....then within 10 miles of this....intown at stop lights RPM would acelerate at complete stop and then it didn't want to move- was able to get up to 10 mph yet could not get through the intersection without the traffic light turning red before I could make it through happen multiple times...once it did this I had to drive with my hazard lights on to warn other drivers......such a safety hazard... let it sit for 2 days then. I was able to drive it 25 miles with the RPM constantly wavering between 1.5 and 3 with the cruise set at 60mph....check engine light came .....towed 100 miles. Now at the car dealer/manufacturer for replacement of the CVT Transmission ....this could have been avoided if 1 month earlier the CVT could have been replaced....5 year old car with less than 100k......it is an automatic car

part 2 of my first complaint about the 2017 Nissan Sentra. There is a bug in my car and I hired 'bug sweeper USA' to find the bug and remove it and they said there isn't a bug and to die. I am frightened and want the bug/transmitter removed, it is against the law in the united states and I want them arrested. I have to trade it up for a better car because I found out that it doesn't have front real drive. This car has terrible blind spots and rear drum breaks. I didn't notice that before it or I wouldn't have bought it. I feel unsafe also because it is terrible going up hills and accelerating. I test drove it on flat roads. I think these cars should be remove from the road and discontinued. I have never bought a car this terribly engineered. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH and coasting to the right around a curve, after completing the maneuver, the accelerator was depressed, the cruise control was set at 48 MPH, and the steering wheel was turned to the left but independently turned all the way to the right. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced a failure with the steering position sensor. The contact let go of the steering when and the vehicle left the road and ran into a pile of leaves. The vehicle struck an unknown object on the ground, the vehicle then went airborne, and the roof of the vehicle struck a tree. The contact stated that the vehicle spun around and ended up in the South bound lane with the passenger’s side quarter panel still on the roadway. The vehicle flipped over approximately six times and ended up on the road where the vehicle came to a stop. The contact recalled seven impacts before the vehicle came to a rest. The seat belt failed to function as intended; the contact struck the driver’s side air bag several times that by the time the vehicle came to a stop, the air bag had deflated. The contact stated that the side curtain air bags deployed, preventing his head from striking the window and exiting the vehicle. All the other air bags were also deployed. The contact was unsure whether there was a warning light illuminated. The contact sustained injuries. The contact had a broken nose, fractured ribs, and a traumatic brain injury. The contact also lost the ability to speak but has since regained partial ability to speak. The contact was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The contact stated that he was neglectfully released from the first hospital he was transferred to but then checked himself back into the ER of another hospital, where most of the injuries were discovered. There were no other passengers in the vehicle. A Police report was filed but was not available. The vehicle was towed to a Copart location in Shreveport, Louisiana. The insurance company was notified of the failures, inspected the vehicle and declared the vehicle a total loss. The contact stated that several days before the accident, the steering wheel and vehicle was vibrating abnormally, and the tires were rotated and that was why the vehicle was being test driven when the failure occurred. The contact stated that the vibration stopped for several days prior to the crash but returned excessively on the day of the crash. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

Approximately 4 years after having the recall repair completed, the traction control warning light was illuminated, and the brake lights failed to illuminate while the brake pedal was depressed. The dealer was contacted and informed of the failure. The dealer confirmed the recall repair was completed, and the VIN was no longer included. The dealer confirmed that the repair had exceeded the 12-month Extended Warranty coverage for additional repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and the manufacturer confirmed that the warranty coverage had been exceeded. The manufacturer opened a case for the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.

I took my car into the dealership for a recall repair and the following day, I started having situations where the I push the pedal down and the car would not initially move but then would "catch" and begin driving again. What is happening now however is that while I am driving, the car appears to shut off (headlights turn off and all of the lights come on the dash) and then all of the lights on the dash go off, headlights turn back on, and then the car "restarts" and continues to drive.

The car experienced sudden lack of power in the middle gears and was unable to accelerate. At the same time it displayed the sliding car icon indicating a brake issue. It came and went for a couple of weeks and then just would not pick up speed in the middle gears. The car is a 6 speed manual. The code thrown was for a manifold control valve failure. We could not get Nissan to schedule a repair so we took it to an independent who had to replace the entire manifold as no service parts were otherwise available. They could find no reason for the sliding car icon to have kept coming on. Even after the manifold replacement it continues to do so at random times. It causes concern over the brakes which is disconcerting at the least. The sudden loss of acceleration while the problem was going on also caused a few scary moments. Nissan was contacted and declined to reimburse us nor did they offer to check the car. This car has been serviced by the dealer exclusively except for the manifold replacement and the service schedule was adhered to. It is a 2017 model and now has under 45,000 miles. It had about 41,000 when the problem occurred. No reason for such an early failure. It is a relatively rare model so no information was available.

My driver door opens while i'm driving, the first time it happened in feb 2023 had i not have my seatbelt on I would have fell out of car. It has happened severals more times, it feels like the lock or the pin is not engaging. Now my front passenger door is starting as well. I contacted Nissan Consumer affairs the woman was arrogant with No concern over my safety, maybe it's a defective door or lock or something and the mgr [XXX] said nissan can't help me, I asked a question if this fell under the NJ lemon law and she said no. I also complained that a dealer will not fix my stop light recall PM971 -21V-135 They put me on a waiting list 1 yr ago, I merely asked if this caused an accident what would happen? She sent me an email stating this I should have my attorney contact them. I never even mentioned an attorney and when I asked for the transcript of our conversation she said she cannot release it to me, I asked if she had one and she said yes.. Why wouldn't they release a convo I had with them, can it be used against them? My Life is Not there concern, I have had nissans for over 40 years with no issues, i have an issue now and they merely shrugged it off. I would like help regarding these matters as Nissan refuses to help with the safety of my being and to save a buck!! Multifunktion Switch/combination switch malfunction. The issue involved the switch malfunctioning, causing the washer pump to stay on, spraying wiper fluid on the windshield and continue running until the pump failed, causing the fuse to short out and blow. This causes complete loss of visibility during the malfunction. This is reported widely with the 2017, 2018, and 2020 Nissan Sentra on various web platforms. The entire combination switch has to be replaced for the malfunction to be corrected.

Pressing on the gas pedal would not accelerate the car. This was intermittent. With cruise control set, the car would no longer maintain the set speed. Both of these occurred repeatedly and while going different speeds. This lasted for 2+ weeks until the dealer was able to find the defect. Nothing was recorded on the car's error messages. The dealership was unable to find the cause and eventually called Nissan's engineering department at corporate. They were aware of the issue in other vehicles that would also stop accelerating and provided a possible solution to the Nissan dealership. The dealer charged us to replace a "brake switch" which was randomly triggering a braking event even though the brake pedal was not touched or engaged.

I called the toll free number for Nissan because the local dealers were unable to repair the issue, adhering to the notice I received, and they weren't helpful. This would cause unsteady driving and also made it feel like the transmission was about to fail. This has happened multiple times. While using and not using cruise control. The brake pedal was depressed however the contact crashed into a curb and then a fire hydrant causing the vehicle to flip. There was smoke and a burning odor present. The contact sustained leg injuries from cracking the front windshield in order to exit the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard where it was deemed a total loss. The contact stated that he received an unknown recall notice and felt that it was related to the failure experienced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. We were able to navigate safely into the shoulder while the power steering, dashboard, and engine were all completely off. No lights or other errors appeared. We took the car to an auto zone where they checked and cleaned the battery from corrosion. Assuming we were fine, we embarked on the three hour journey home on the same highway the next day. We drove the car for about 45 minutes short distances with no errors. As we got ready to return home, we got on the highway again. About 30 minutes into the drive going the same speed, the car shut down again. No warnings or errors like the last time. We took the car to a Nissan dealership in Monroeville, PA. They held the car for a week doing inspections and say that there are no errors. I'm wary of the safety of the vehicle and nervous to drive a car that unexpectedly shuts down on the highway

I"M DOCUMENTING THE SCARY SITUATIONS I'VE EXPERINCED WITH MY 2017 NISSAN SENTRA SR TURBO. ON 7/31/17 THE VEHICLE STARTED TO STALL AT AN INTERSECTION, THEN CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE ENGINE TURNED OFF AND I WAS LEFT WITHOUT ANY ABILITY TO CONTROLL THE CAR. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN TRYING TO MAKE IT BACK HOME IT BARELY MADE IT AT A MAXIMUM SPEED OF 10 MILES/HR. IT HAD TO BE TOWED TO A DEALER FOR SERVICED IT WAS COMPLETELLY UNDRIVABLE. THEY SAID THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I DROVE BACK TO WORK AFTER THE REPAIRS. THAT EVENING LEAVING WORK THE SAME THING HAPPENED. HAD TO CALL AGAIN TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER AGAIN. THE NEXT DAY I GOT A CALL FROM THE SERVICE PERSON TELLING ME THE ALTERNATOR HAD GONE OUT, AND THAT THE PART WOULD TAKE 2 WEEKS TO COME IN. MEANWHILE I CONTACTED NISSAN CORP. TO LE THEM KNOW OF THE SITUATION AND THE OTHER VARIOUS TIMES I'D TO BRINGIN THE CAR IN FOR REPAIRS SINCE I PURCHSED IT BRAND NEW IN 1/14/17 . I TOLD THEM THIS CAR IS PUTTING MY LIFE AND OTHERS IN DANGER AND THAT I BELIVED IT WAS A LEMMON. A FEW DAYS LATER I GOT A CALL TELLING ME THAT MY CASE HAD BEEN MOVED UP IN THEIR PRIORITY LIST, HOWEVER THEY DID'T LET ME KNOW THAT THIS SITUATION WAS HAPPENING TO OTHER CUSTORMERS.
