REAR END LOCKED UP AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. OVER THE YEARS, THE REAR SEALS WOULD CONSTANTLY LEAK AND WERE REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES AND WAS USUALLY BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION DURING OIL CHANGES/INSPECTIONS. I GUESS THEY DIDNT CATCH IT LEAKING AND CAUSED MY REAR END TO LOCK UP WHICH WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. I WAS HEADING TO WORK AROUND 4-5 AM IN THE MORNING AND ALL MY LIGHTS ON MY TRUCK CAME ON KIND OF FELT LIKE I BLEW A TIRE AND STARTED PULLING VERY HARD. I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD RATHER QUICKLY AND HAD IT TOWED. I KNOW PLENTY OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD THIS ISSUES WITH THE EARLY MODEL NISSAN TITANS. BESIDES THAT THOUGH I HAVE BEEN PLEASED WITH MY TITAN. I HAVE OVER 500K MILES ON IT CURRENTLY. FYI THIS HAPPENED YEARS BACK BUT I WAS READING A FORUM THAT WE SHOULD TRY TO GET THIS RECALLED AND IT DID COST ME ALOT TO HAVE THE REAR END FIXED.

TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN STUCK IN 4TH GEAR WHILE IN DRIVE. IT. WILL SWITCH INTO PARK, REVERSE AND NEUTRAL. WHEN THE TRUCK IS PUT ON THE COMPUTER THERE ARE NO ERROR CODES SHOWING THAT WOULD REQUIRE REPAIR THEREFORE NISSAN REFUSES TO SUBMIT ANY DOCUMENTATION HIGHER TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITH THIS STANDARD TRANSMISSION IN ALL OF THEIR VEHICLES. ON A SIDE NOTE, I'VE HAD 2 OTHER NISSANS WITH A CENTRAL VARIABLE TRANSMISSION THAT HAVE ALL DONE THIS AS WELL. I'VE SINCE BEEN ABLE TO GET RID OF THOSE VEHICLES, BUT I AM STUCK WITH THIS ONE.

THE WELD ON THE LEFT REAR SHACKLE THAT HOLDS THE LEAF SPRING IN PLACE RUSTED THROUGH AND THE LEAF SPRING PUSHED UP THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF THE TRUCK BED CAUSING A HOLE. IN MY OPINION BASED ON MY INSPECTION THE WELD FAILED DUE TO RUST. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW IN 2006 AND HAD CORROSION PROTECTION APPLIED. THIS TYPE OF WEAR AND TEAR SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TO A VEHICLE LIKE THIS. I HAVE TAKEN PHOTOS TO DOCUMENT THE DAMAGE. I AM GOING TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN TO REVIEW THE ISSUE.

RIGHT REAR SPRING SHACKLE BROKE AT THE WELDS WHILE DRIVING ALLOWING THE LEAF SPRING TO BE THRUST UP AGAINST THE UNDER SIDE OF THE BED. BY LUCK OR OTHER I WAS TO BE TOWING OUR TRAVEL TRAILER LATER IN THE DAY FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND.A CURSORY SEARCH FOUND A HIGH NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS OF BROKEN SHACKLES IN MODEL YEAR 04-07. SHACKLES APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN UPGRADED IN MODEL YEAR 08. THIS FAILURE COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT TO SELF OR OTHERS HAD THE AXLE SHIFTED RESULTING IN LOSS OF CONTROL.

I HEARD A VERY ABNORMAL CLUNK FROM REAR OF VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING WHICH WAS INITIALLY FOLLOWED BY VERY UNSTABLE VEHICLE DYNAMICS (VEHICLE SWAYED HEAVILY FROM SIDE TO SIDE). I INITIALLY THOUGHT I'D INADVERTENTLY HIT AN OBSTACLE OR POTHOLE IN THE ROAD BUT AT THE NEXT STOP I NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS LEANING HEAVILY ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE (>2" LOWER THAN THE RIGHT). I INSPECTED THE UNDERCARRIAGE BUT COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING WRONG SO CHECKED TIRE PRESSURES (ALL FINE AT ~34-36PSI). NOT BEING ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ISSUE, I ASSUMED IT WAS JUST THE WAY WE'D LOADED THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUED DRIVING (WE WERE MORE THAN 6 HRS FROM HOME). AFTER UNLOADING THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, I REALISED SOMETHING ELSE WAS SERIOUSLY WRONG BECAUSE THE SEVERE LEAN WAS STILL PRESENT. A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH FOR "NISSAN TITAN LEANING" LED ME TO CHECK FOR A BROKEN REAR SHACKLE. INSPECTING THE FLOOR OF THE BED WAS ENOUGH CONFIRMATION THAT THE LEFT HAND REAR SHACKLE HAD INDEED BROKEN (HUGE BULGE IN THE FLOOR OF THE BED WHERE THE LEAF SPRING SLAMMED UP INTO THE BODY). NO LESS THAN 26 SEPARATE REPORTS HAVE BEEN MADE ON THE WWW.TITANTALK.COM FORUM ABOUT THE ISSUE (PHOTOS AND DOCUMENTATION AVAILABLE). I WAS LUCKIER THAN SOME WHERE LEAF SPRINGS BROKE THROUGH THE BED FLOOR COMPLETELY (HAVE PHOTOS TO SUPPORT THIS). THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE A DEFECT AND INSTEAD QUOTED $480 FOR THE REPAIR. I HAVE SINCE CONFIRMED THAT NISSAN REINFORCED THE SHACKLES IN 2008 AND SUPERCEDED THE OLDER DESIGN (DAMNING EVIDENCE IN ITSELF). FOR THE RECORD, THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED WITH MY PREGNANT WIFE, 3 YR OLD SON AND FATHER-IN-LAW AS PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE. IT IS DAUNTING TO CONSIDER HOW MANY DRIVERS AND FAMILIES ARE AT RISK AS A RESULT OF NISSAN'S FAILURE TO REPORT THIS TO THE NHTSA. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A NOISE FROM MY BACKEND AND ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF MY TRUCK. I GOT OUT AND CHECKED TO FIND MY LEAF SPRING BUSTED AND STICKING THROUGH MY TRUCK BED. I CALLED NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA AND THEY ARE UNWILLING TO OFFER ANY HELP BECAUSE OF IT BEING A USED VEHICLE. IT SEEMS IT WOULD BE MORE COST EFFECTIVE TO DO A RECALL NOW UNTIL WAITING UNTIL SOMEONE IS KILLED. I NOTICED A SOUND COMING FROM MY BACKEND. WHEN I GOT HOME I OPENED MY TAILGATE I FOUND THAT MY DRIVER SIDE LEAF SPRING SHACKLE HAD FAILED AND THE LEAF SPRING HAD PUNCTURED MY BED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ONLY TO FIND OUT THE $2000 WARRANTY THROUGH WHEELZ I PURCHASED DID NOT COVER IT. IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON THING YET NISSAN ISN'T DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. *TR

My vehicle, which I bought used with about 140,000 miles on it had cracked exhaust manifolds, which I replaced. Both were cracked and one actually fell to pieces when unbolted. One replacement cracked after about 15,000 miles, but was able to have it braised. Now, at about 180,000 miles they a spewing carbon monoxide into the cab again. This is a serious health and safety issue, and from checking Titan club web sites, it seems to be a widespread issue. I DO NOT DRIVE OFF ROAD OR SUBJECT THE TRUCK TO ABNORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. I THINK IT WAS IN 2009 WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO NISSAN TO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND LIGHT SMOKE OUT OF EXHAUST. RAN DIAGNOSTIC AND FOUND OUT THAT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS BROKE UP AND BROKEN MATERIAL WENT BACK (SUCKBACK) INTO ENGINE AND DAMAGED PISTON RINGS WHICH WAS CAUSING IT TO SMOKE. TOLD ME I NEEDED TO REPLACE ENGINE CAUSE IT WAS PRETTY MUCH NO GOOD. THIS TRUCK WAS 3 YRS. OLD AT THE TIME. WARRANTY WAS OUT AND WAS AND COST ME A FORTUNE TO REPLACE ENGINE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM. I HAD NO IDEA TIL NOW HOW MANY 2006 TITAN OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THIS HAS TO BE RECALLED.

HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO DIFFERENT REPAIR SHOPS AND HAVE BOTH (DRIVERS/PASSENGER SIDE) EXHAUST MANIFOLD ARE CRACKED. HAVE GONE TO NISSAN FOR THE REPAIRS .NISSAN HAS STATED THAT ITS A KNOWN ISSUE ON NISSAN TITANS FOR THE YEARS OF 2004-2007 BUT WON'T REPLACE IT. WAS QUOTED FOR THE REPAIR OF $3,000. ITS JUST OUT OF THE MILES ON THE 80K/8YEAR EMISSIONS WARRANTY, BUT STILL TIME FRAME.

LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS ARE CRACKED. THEY ARE NORMALLY COVERED UNDER THE EMISSIONS WARRANTY OF 8YR/80K MILES. I AM OUT OF WARRANTY BY 4,000 MILES. I PUT 4K MILES EVERY 3 MONTHS AND I HAVE HEARD THE TICKING NOISE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COLD FOR OVER THIS TIME PERIOD. I CONTACTED NISSAN USA FOR LOYAL CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE AND WAS DENIED. These units are being sold at various retailers and deceptively marketed. I purchased one with the warning label defaced. The listing stated it was a bStock item due to cosmetic damage otherwise fully functional. It was only after receiving it did I find the truth of the 2 NHTSA recalls in 2019. https://bigjeffaudio.com/products/open-box-ioxus-12v-group-31-smart-power-bluetooth-car-audio-ultra-capacitor After I brought it to their attention and a little convincing, did they add the disclaimer at the bottom of the listing. To be transparent I purchased the same item, through that specific vendor on eBay. I did capture the listing before they added the disclaimer. Ultimately they refunded the purchase and I sent the item back. The photos explicitly omit the "warning" that has large print ultracapacitor and small print, "follow this link to the the actual warning" Going further the manufacturer went as far as to post a video of an employee throwing the battery, showing that it is completely safe and instructs the viewer to hit up a distributor and go buy one now. It is one thing to inform the customer and quite another to sell to an unsuspecting person.

WIRE HARNESS FOR THE REAR POWER SLIDER (BEHIND THE REAR SEAT) CAUGHT ON FIRE. FIRE MARSHALL SAID IT WAS A FAULTY WIRE HARNESS. CAUGHT OUR CARSEATS AND THE ENTIRE CAB, AND BED ON FIRE. VEHICLE WAS OFF, PARKED AND VACANT WHEN THE FIRE WAS VISIBLE, BUT ONLY FOR 10 MINUTES, SO IT MAY HAVE STARTED WHEN IT ON, AND WASN'T VISIBLE RIGHT AWAY.

THE VEHICLE HAD WARPED FRONT ROTORS FROM DAY OF PURCHASE. THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK FROM SIDE TO SIDE DURING TEST DRIVE AFTER APPLYING THE BAKE AT ABOUT 50 TO 60 MILES PER. I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK TO NISSAN DEALER TO REPLACE THE BRAKES AND ROTORS UNDER WARRANTY THE TRUCK HAD 632 MILES AT THE TIME. THAT WAS IN 2006. JUST RECENTLY I HAD THE BRAKES REPLACED AGAIN THE PADS WERE NOT WORN OUT COMPLETELY BUT THE ROTORS WERE WARPED AT 33,673 MILES. I PAID ANOTHER NISSAN DEALER TO HAVE PADS AND ROTORS REPLACED FOR $600 THAT SEEM TO BE THE MINIMUM CHARGE. *TR

THE BRAKE PEDAL BEGAN TO PULSATE VERY VIOLENTLY PRIOR TO DEPRESSING TO THE FLOOR. A BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD SO THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND SHUT IT OFF. UPON RESTARTING IT, THE BRAKE PEDAL OPERATED AS NORMAL AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS NO LONGER ILLUMINATING ON THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS TYPE OF FAILURE BUT ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THE BRAKING SYSTEM RESETS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 64,700. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23E012000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available for older vehicles. The local dealer was contacted and stated that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

HAD A RECALL ON THE 2004-2006 AIR BAGS AND TOOK TITAN IN TO UNIVERSITY NISSAN IN FLORENCE, AL. WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL COULD NOT BE COMPLETED ON SOME OF THE 2004-2006 TITANS AND THEY WOULD CONTACT NISSAN TO GET A SOLUTION. AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS OF WAITING I CONTACTED NISSAN USA AND THEN UNIVERSITY NISSAN TRIED AGAIN TO REPROGRAM THE AIRBAGS BUT IT STILL WOULD NOT TAKE. NOW I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT NISSAN HAS SUSPENDED THE RECALL UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT THEY CAN PRODUCE A PROGRAM TO FIX THIS RECALL. I KNOW, OTHER OWNERS ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEM AND NOW WHAT CAN BE DONE ? MY NISSAN TITAN IS SUPPOSEDLY NOT INCLUDED IN THE TAKATA RECALL, HOWEVER, THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT IF I WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH, IT MAY NOT DEPLOY OR MAY DEPLOY WITHOUT ANY REASON. I HAVE TALKED TO THE NISSAN DEALER IN HATTIESBURG, MS, BUT THEY SAID IT IS NOT INCLUDED. IF SOMETHING LIKE THIS WOULD HAPPEN, I AM SURE NISSAN WOULD PAY DEARLY. TIRE SIDEWALL SEPARATION. ON 4/25/2009, I PURCHASED 4 NEW TOYO OPEN COUNTRY H/T, P265/70R18 TRUCK TIRES FOR MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN PICKUP TRUCK. ON SUNDAY, 5/3/2010, I NOTICED THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE HAD A SMALL CHUNK OF THE BLACK OUTSIDE SIDEWALL MISSING. UPON INSPECTION, I COULD NOT FIND WHERE ANY TYPE OF DEBRIS HAD HIT THE TIRE, NOR COULD I FIND WHERE ANY OF THE OTHER TIRES HAD BEEN DAMAGED. THE FOLLOWING DAY, I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THEM INSPECT THE DAMAGE. AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE, THE TOTAL VEHICLE MILEAGE WAS 30,586. AS OF THIS DATE, THE MILEAGE IS 40,845. A TOTAL OF 10,259 MILES HAVE BEEN DRIVEN SINCE THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED. AS THE TIRES CAME WITH A 60K MILE DAMAGE WARRANTY, I WAS EXPECTING TO HAVE THE TIRE REPLACED AND TO PAY ANY MILEAGE ADJUSTMENT FEE. THE DEALER INSTEAD INFORMED ME THAT, BECAUSE OF THE TYPE OF DAMAGE, THEY WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT TOYO AND OBTAIN THEIR APPROVAL TO REPLACE THE TIRE. I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. I WAS ON VACATION WITH MY WIFE AND GRANDDAUGHTER THIS PAST WEEK WHEN I NOTICED THE BRAKING ON MY TRUCK FELT WRONG. IT TOOK MUCH FURTHER TO STOP THAN IT SHOULD. IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I PULLED OVER TO A REST AREA AND NOTICED A BURNING SMELL COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. I CHECKED THE FLUIDS AND EVERYTHING LOOKED OK. I WENT TO A GARAGE TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. THE MECHANIC SHOWED ME WHERE THE REAR AXLE SEALS WERE LEAKING DIFFERENTIAL FLUID INTO THE BRAKE DRUMS ON BOTH REAR WHEELS AND SPINNING FLUID INTO THE WHEELS. THEY TOLD ME I NEED TO GET IT OVER TO THE NISSAN DEALER TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY TOLD ME THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH TITANS. THEY CONSIDER IT SAFE. BUT THEY TELL ME I NEED TO GET IT FIXED RIGHT AWAY. THE REAR BRAKES HAVE DIFFERENTIAL FLUID LEAKING INTO THEM. WHICH MEANS I MAY EVEN HAVE TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING DAMAGED! SUNDAY EVENING MY SON WAS DRIVING ONTO AN ENTRANCE RAMP TO I-10 INTERSTATE WHEN THE TRUCK DIED. FUEL GAUGE INDICATED TRUCK HAD FUEL. WOULD NOT START, LEFT ON SIDE OF INTERSTATE UNTIL NEXT DAY. BOUGHT SOME GAS TO PUT INTO TANK WHICH STARTED THE TRUCK. HE DROVE TO FILL TANK ! FUEL GAUGE INACCURATELY DISPLAYS FUEL READING. CALLED NISSAN TO INFORMED THEM OF MY UNDERSTANDING THAT A FUEL SYSTEM RECALL. I WAS TOLD I SERVICED MY TRUCK WITH THIS RECALL WHICH I TOLD CORPORATE I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH MY FUEL SYSTEM. I ALWAYS ASK FOR OLD PARTS BUT WAS NOT PROVIDED. STEERING WHEEL SHAKES WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. A FEW DAYS LATER A LOUD GRINDING NOISE IN THE FRONT END. TOOK THE 2006 TITAN TO SERVICE CENTER AND WAS TOLD NEEDED TOTAL FRONT END BRAKE JOB. THE BRAKE PADS WENT THRU THE ROTORS. A FEW MONTHS LATER THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRUCK FOR SOMETHING ELSE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR THE RECALL AND WAS TOLD THE FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM HAD TO BE REPLACED. TWO TO THREE MONTHS AFTER I JUST HAD IT DONE. I TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT I JUST HAD IT DONE A FEW MONTHS AGO. I ASKED TO SEE THE PROBLEM AND THEY WOULD NOT LET ME IN TO LOOK AT THE PROBLEM MYSELF. THEY JUST NOTED THAT I REFUSED SERVICE. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE SERVICE STATION THAT DID THE WORK (BECAUSE THE DEALER SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED). THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES AT THAT TIME LIKE THE DEALER TOLD ME. NOW 8/21/2014 AT 53000 MILES THE FRONT END BRAKE SYSTEM IS GONE AGAIN. I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP. I HAD TO GO OFF THE ROAD SO I DID NOT HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I OWNED 6 NISSANS AND NEVER HAS THIS KIND OF PROBLEM BEFORE. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY NISSAN IS WAITING UNTIL SOMEONE GETS KILLED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. COMPLETE REAR AXLE FAILURE WITH 105,400 MILES. THIS REAR AXLE WAS BUILT TO WEAK TO HANDLE THE ENGINE HORSE POWER AND THE VEHICLE CANNOT TOW 7,800 LBS. NISSAN FALSELY ADVERTISIE THAT THIS VEHICLE CAN TOW 7,800 LBS. MY VEHICLE NEVER TOWED, IT HAS NO HITHCH THE REAR AXLE COULDN'T WITHSTAND JUST PROPELLING THE VEHICLE FOR 105,000 MILES. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IS JUSTIFIED FOR OWNERS IF THESE VEHICLES AFFECTED WITH THIS KNOWN DESIGN FLAW.

BOTH EXHAUST MANIFOLDS ARE CRACKED. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THIS WAS A RECALL. WHEN I CALLED THEY SAID IT WAS ONLY A WARRANTY ISSUE UP TO 80,000 MILES.BOTH WERE CRACKED WELL BEFORE THE 80,000 MILE. WHILE WAITING ON THE RECALL 80,000 HAS SINCE PASSED. BY DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THAT NISSAN KNEW ABOUT THE DEFECT BUT DID NOT RECALL FIX THE ISSUES. I WOULD THING THAT AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD WOULD NEED TO BE RECALLED AND FIXED. THIS COULD CASE SEVERAL ISSUES SUCH AS THE POSSIBILITY OF EXHAUST FUMES FILLING THE INTERIOR, ALSO WITH THE EXTREME HEAT COMING FROM THE CRACKS COULD EASILY IGNITE A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.

I HAVE TAKEN THIS AVENUE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE PHONE NUMBERS THEY GAVE ME ON MY RECALL NOTICE WENT NO WHERE. IT SEEMED THE 2 NUMBERS I DID CALL WERE NO HELP SO I AM RESORTING TO THE INTERNET PROCESS THEY OFFERED. IN MY NOTIFICATION IT STATES THAT THE NISSAN TITAN/ARMADA'S - 2005-2006 MODELS - THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSER FAN MOTOR HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED OUT OF SPECIFICATIONS, THAT INADEQUATE WATER DRAINAGE ALLOWS MOISTURE TO BUILD-UP LEADING TO INCREASED TEMPERATURES IN THE MOTOR WHICH IN TURN COULD CAUSE WIRING TO MELT THE INSULATION AND OTHER PLASTIC COMPONENTS AND ULTIMATELY RESULT IN A FIRE. NOW THERE SOLUTION IS TO INSTALL A SPECIAL PROTECTOR KIT TO ELIMINATE A POTENTIAL FIRE TO OCCUR. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT IF INDEED THESE HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED OUT OF SPEC'S THEN THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED NOT MODIFIED. I WOULD HOPE THAT THEY WOULD STAND UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND DO THE RIGHT THING, AFTER ALL WE PAID A GOOD SUM OF MONEY FOR THESE VEHICLES AND EXPECT THESE ITEMS WHEN THEY ARRIVE TO BE HANDLED IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER, NOT BY SOME RINKY-DINKY PART INSTALLED TO GET THEM OUT OF THIS PROBLEM THAT HAS RISEN. MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AFTER BEING INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT. THERE IS ONGOING ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH SHORTING OUT BATTERY OVERNIGHT WHEN RADIO IS CONNECTED. NISSAN REMOVED FUSE AND CAN'T LOCATE THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE. CONDENSER FAN HAS GONE OUT.

MY VEHICLE IMPACTED ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM THE REAR AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON. SEVERAL ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS; STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS STOPPED WORKING IN 2008, ABS LIGHT REMAINS ON, BACKUP SENSOR WENT OUT 11-17 AND MOST RECENTLY I STARTED MY VEHICLE ONE MORNING AND SPEAKERS STARTED POPPING REALLY LOUD AND IMMEDIATELY SMELLED OF BURNED WIRES AND JUST TWO DAYS LATER VEHICLE WOULD NOT START, BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DRAINED. AFTER CHARGING WORKED FINE FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS BUT JUST REPEATED THE SAME SITUATION. THIS VEHICLE HAS GAVE ME SO MANY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS STARTING A YEAR AFTER PURCHASE. ALSO NOTICED THAT ONE OF THE A FRAMES WELDED JOINTS IS CRACKED. I AM A CERTIFIED WELDING INSPECTOR AND CAN SAY THAT IT IS A MANUFACTURER DISCONTINUITY. THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WENT OUT YEARS AFTER PURCHASE IN 2006. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE BECAUSE OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. I AM THE ONE AND ONLY OWNER AND PURCHASED IT NEW WITH ONLY 17 MILES ON IT. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD SO MANY ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL ISSUES THAT IM STARTING TO THINK I SHOULD APPLY UNDER LEMON LAW BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO DO THAT.

CONTACTED NISSAN REGARDING ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER BECAUSE WE ARE OUTSIDE OF WARRANTEE? FIND IT ODD THAT SOME VEHICLES ARE BEING COVERED BUT NOT THIS ONE. PREVIOUSLY TO THE AIRBAG LIGHT ISSUE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE DOING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY LOST ALL POWER. THANKFULLY NO VEHICLE BEHIND HIM. HE PULLED OVER INTO BREAKDOWN LANE TRIED TO RESTART VEHICLE WOULDN'T START INITIALLY BUT AFTER 10 MINUTES DID START. I OWN A 2006 NISSAN TITAN WITH 47000 MILES. PARTIAL VIN "1N6BA07A0" WHILE TAKING IT TO THE LOCAL MIDAS SHOP FOR AN OIL CHANGE. THE MECHANIC POINTED OUT A LEAK ON LEFT REAR AXLE SEAL. THEY QUOTED ME WITH $350.00 TO REPLACE THE SEAL. HOWEVER THEY ALSO SUGGESTED TO HAVE THE DEALERSHIP ATTEMPT TO REPLACE UNDER A RECALL/ WARRANTY... THE DEALERSHIP QUOTED $1900.00 TO REPLACE THE WHOLE REAR AXLE UNDER THE GUIDANCE FROM THEIR TECHNICIANS AND IT BEING OVER THE MANUFACTURES WARRANTY AND/OR NO RECALL. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A RIPOFF. RIGHT REAR AXLE SEAL BLEW OUT AND LEAKED DIFFERENTIAL FLUID. DIFFERENTIAL FLUID LEAKING ON REAR BRAKE ROTORS WHICH COULD CAUSE BRAKE FAILURE, WHICH WAS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN TO ME. AT TIME OF FAILURE AT 8000 MILES NO SUSPENSION MODIFICATIONS HAD BEEN DONE TO VEHICLE. ALSO, THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL WILL SLOWLY LEAK AND CAUSE THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL TO LOSE FLUID AND FAIL. I OWN A 2006 NISSAN TITAN P/U AND THROUGH THE YEARS I NOTICED SOME RUST ON MY REAR BUMPER. I DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT CHECK BEFORE MY WARRANTY RAN OUT. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT IT'S FROM THE RUBBER STRIP THAT IS PLACED ON THE BUMPER AND THAT WHEN YOU STEP ON IT TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE BED IT TENDS TO MOVE AND SCRATCH THE BUMPER AND THAT IS WHY YOU HAVE RUST. I TOLD THE MANAGER I BARELY USE THE BUMPER SO HOW CAN THAT BE THE CAUSE. I ASKED IF THIS IS COVERED SINCE IT'S THE FAULT OF THE RUBBER STRIP AND THE WAY IS WAS PLACED ON THE BUMPER, AND HIS ANSWER WAS NO AND THAT THEY WOULD ONLY COVER IT IF IT WAS ROTTED THROUGH. So back in October 2023 ,I noticed a lot of things go wrong at once lime the radiator had to be replaced because it was leaking everywhere. The steering went bad and started leaking. The rear main seal started leaking. The clock spring went bad. there isntons of water always in the passenger floorboard and passenger door. The fuel gauge is all over the place and never reads right. The oil pressure gauge always has been on high. The engine light, air bag light slip light, and abs light have always been on. The right rear window stopped going up and the controls on the drivers door sometimes work and sometimes don't. The Manuel shifter has never worked and I cannot put the transmission in 2,3, or 4th gear from a stand still. Always been weird knocking sound in the suspension

The contact's son owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact stated while his son was driving approximately 35-45 MPH, the vehicle stalled inadvertently. The contact was unsure whether there were any warning lights illuminated. The contact's son was able to restart the vehicle and continued to drive; however, the failure reoccurred several times while driving. The vehicle was taken to Pep Boys and diagnosed the failure as a vehicle dynamic control switch, acceleration, and power train systems failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the instrument cluster had failed. The dealer was not notified of the failures. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in any recalls. The failure mileage was approximately 153,000.

ON 05/22/2015, TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AT OR NEAR POSTED SPEED IN MILD SUNNY WEATHER. THE TRUCK JUST SHUT OFF IN LANE OF TRAFFIC. THERE WAS NO HESITATION, NOISE, ALARM, WARNING LIGHTS JUST SHUT DOWN. THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES. PULLED VEHICLE OVER TO RH SHOULDER AND TRIED TO RESTART IT WITH OUT SUCCESS.ON 05/18/2015, I HAD THE TRUCK SERVICED AND INSPECTED AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN ANTICIPATION OF THIS ROAD TRIP. THE TRUCK PASSED DEALER INSPECTION. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO A NISSAN DEALER SERVICE CENTER AND AFTER SEVERAL DAYS THE DEALER TOLD ME THE ECM HAD FAILED AND SHORTED OUT THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE REPAIR BILL WAS A LITTLE OVER $1400. I AM NOT OBJECTING TO THE COST OF REPAIR....I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE TRUCK JUST STOPPING ON THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT WARNING. IF THIS BREAKDOWN WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OR DRIVING LANES OF A NEARBY FREEWAY, OR ON A STEEP INCLINE WITH TURNS THE RESULTS MAY HAVE BEEN VERY BAD. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE SHORT AND FAILURE OF THE ECM WERE A RESULT OF A LEAK IN THE EXHAUST SYSTEM (SAME ONE THAT PASSED INSPECTION) AND HEAT SHORTED THE WIRING HARNESS. 2006 NISSAN TITAN DIED IN PARKING LOT ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 1ST, STARTED RIGHT UP. ON MONDAY, AUGUST 2ND, DIED IN BANK DRIVE THROUGH, TOOK ABOUT 8-10 MINUTES TO GET STARTED, THEN ONLY "CHUGGED". WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF DRIVE THROUGH LINE AND TO PARKING SPOT. TURNED ENGINE OFF FOR 20 MINUTES, STARTED UP AND WENT BACK TO WORK. AT 5:00 ON THAT DAY, WOULD NOT START. TRIED FOR 30 MINUTES. HUSBAND HAD FRIEND TOW IT HOME AND THEY CHECKED THE SPARK PLUGS AND A FEW THINGS WITH NO LUCK. ON AUGUST, 4TH, HUSBAND TOWED THE TRUCK TO THE CLAY COOLEY NISSAN DEALERSHIP, THEIR TEST SHOWED IT TO BE THE IPDM SENSOR OUT. THIS PART WAS REPLACED AND TRUCK WAS FIXED. THE COST FOR THIS REPAIR WAS $306.16. I HAVE JUST FOUND OUT THAT THIS SENSOR HAS BEEN RECALLED ON TITANS PRODUCED FROM 2004 TO JUNE 2006. THE REAR SEAT SEAT-BELTS OF MY NISSAN TITAN TRUCK WILL TIGHTEN INTO A LOCKED POSITION CAUSING THE PASSENGER TO BECOME IMMOBILIZED AGAINST THE SEAT BACK. THE ONLY WAY TO UNDO THE LOCKED SEAT-BELT IS TO COMPLETELY DISENGAGE IT, AND THEN RE-LOCK IT. HOWEVER, IT'S THEN JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT LOCKS UP AGAIN FORCING THE PASSENGER TO UNLOCK IT. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY HAZARD, BECAUSE THE PASSENGER HAS TO UNDO THEIR SEAT-BELT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION SO THEY CAN MOVE. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY HAVE REPLACED THE SEAT BELTS ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS, AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T FIX THEM. DRIVING CROSS COUNTRY IN NISSAN TITAN. TRUCK FLOOR GOT HOT AT ONE POINT. LATER TRUCK SPUTTERED AND SHUT ITSELF DOWN. I LET IT COOL DOWN AND IT DROVE FINE FOR A WHILE. NEXT DAY ALL OF US IN THE CAR WERE A LITTLE SICK AND NAUSEATED. CAR DROVE FINE THE REST OF THE TRIP AND IT WASN'T UNTIL AFTER WE ARRIVED AT OUR DESTINATION THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT CAME UP. LOOKED UP THE CODES WHICH WERE THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS HAD LOSS EFFICIENCY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEAL FOR A COMPLETE DIAGNOSIS. DEALER CONFIRMED ALL 4 CAT CONVERTERS WERE DEAD AND IT PROBABLY CAUSED BY A LEAK IN THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. FURTHER RESEARCH SHOWS THAT NISSAN TITANS HAVE A HISTORY OF CRACKS IN THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THIS NOT ONLY RUINS THE CAT CONVERTERS BUT EXHAUST FUMES LEAK INTO THE CABIN CAUSING A HEALTH RISK. SHORTLY AFTER A RAINSTORM THIS VEHICLE (NISSAN TITAN 2006) WAS BEING DRIVEN LATE AT NIGHT ON AN UNPAVED COUNTRY ROAD IN THE VICINITY OF WEBSTER PARISH, LA. AS THE ROAD WAS WET AND THE VISIBILITY WAS VERY LIMITED IT WAS BEING DRIVEN NO FASTER THAN ABOUT 20 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THEY RAN INTO A RUT IN THE ROAD WITH THE LEFT FRONT TIRE AND THAT CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. WHEN THE VEHICLE RAN INTO THE RUT IN THE ROAD IT TILTED VERY SLIGHTLY AND THEN RIGHTED ITSELF. THERE WAS NO EXTERIOR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PEOPLE RIDING IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN DRIVEN TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONTACTED NISSAN WHO SAID THAT THE AIRBAGS HAD DEPLOYED PROPERLY AND THEY WOULD NOT PAY ANY PART OF REPLACING THEM OR THE SEAT BELTS. THE NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE ALSO SAID THAT THE VEHICLES' COMPUTER SENT OUT AN 'ERROR CODE' THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ROLLED OVER. ALSO, WHEN WE DISCUSSED THIS ISSUE WITH ANOTHER NISSAN TRAINED AND CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN, WE WERE TOLD THAT 7 OUT OF 10 TITANS HAVE ISSUES WITH THEIR COMPUTERS AND THAT THE SENSOR UNDER THE VEHICLE IS PRONE TO COME LOOSE. IT DOESN'T SEEM LOGICAL THAT A MINOR INCIDENT LIKE THIS COULD CAUSE THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY AND HAVE TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE SEAT BELTS UNLESS THE SYSTEM IN THIS VEHICLE WAS DEFECTIVE. TRAVELING IN HEAVY MORNING TRAFFIC AND THE VEHICLE SIMPLY QUIT IN THE MIDST OF HUNDREDS OF VEHICLES. IT WOULD NOT FULLY RESTART BUT WOULD ONLY ROUGH IDLE A TIME OR TWO. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE IPDM/ECM HAD FAILED. THE PARTS WERE REPLACED AND AS SOON AS I BEGAN LEAVE THE REPAIR FACILITY THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHT CAME ON. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT ONE OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS HAD FAILED...DUE TO RAW FUEL BEING DUMPED INTO IT AS RESULT OF THE FAILURE OF THE IPDM/ECM. A FEW DAYS LATER, AS I WAS RESEARCHING CATALYTIC CONVERTERS ONLINE, I CAME ACROSS A NISSAN RECALL - NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID 10V517000 AND REALIZED THAT THIS WAS THE EXACT SITUATION BUT THAT I HAD NOT RECEIVED NOTICE OF SAID RECALL. I CONTACTED NISSAN REGARDING THIS SITUATION AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPAIRS AND THEY ADVISED THAT I'D HAVE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO ONE OF THEIR DEALERS FOR INSPECTION BEFORE THEY'D CONSIDER REIMBURSING. I DID SO AND THEY DID REIMBURSE FOR THE IPDM/ECM REPAIRS. HOWEVER, WHEN I ASKED ABOUT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILURE...WHICH WAS AN IMMEDIATE RESULT OF THE IPDM/ECM FAILURE, THE DEALER (AND NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS) INDICATED THAT I'D HAVE TO GET AN ESTIMATE & "RESTART" THE PROCESS. WHILE DOING SO, I LEARNED OF NUMEROUS EXAMPLES OF THIS VERY SAME THING HAPPENING WHEN IPDM/ECM FAILS & DUMPS RAW FUEL INTO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I OWN A 4X4 LOADED 2006 TITAN LE WHICH IS MY PRIMARY FAMILY VEHICLE. AROUND 80K, ECM MODULE WENT OUT CAUSING CAR TO STALL OUT AND LOSE ALL POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC (WITH MY KIDS). LUCKY NOT TO BE NAILED BY AN ON-COMING CAR, I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND MODULE WAS REPLACED DUE TO RECALL. ONE WEEK LATER WHILE VACATIONING IN THE MOUNTAINS THE BATTERY RANDOMLY FRIED, WE REPLACED IT. HOWEVER IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING, THE ANTI-THEFT ALARM WOULD RANDOMLY SOUND OFF, THE DVD PLAYER WOULDN'T WORK (HASN'T WORKED SINCE), THE SUNROOF WAS MALFUNCTIONING AND WOULDN'T OPEN AND CLOSE PROPERLY. ONCE WE RETURNED, THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG (EXCEPT THE DVD PLAYER, WHICH NO ONE COULD EXPLAIN). ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE FOUND THAT THE FIRST CATALYTIC CONVERTER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAD BLOWN..FOLLOWED NOT LONG AFTER BY CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND THE DRIVERS SIDE CATALYTIC CONVERTER BAD..DEALERSHIP WANTS $3000 JUST FOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS!!! THE MECHANIC STATED THAT HE COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT THIS HAPPENED GIVEN THE YEAR OF THE TRUCK. UPON FURTHER EXAMINATION HE RECOMMENDED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE BE REPLACED AS WELL, BEFORE IT BROKE ALSO, HE STATED THAT IT WAS VERY THIN METAL. THE REPLACEMENT PART WAS PURCHASED AT THE A DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAVE HAD NUMEROUS INCIDENTS WHERE THIS PART HAS BROKEN CAUSING SIMILAR DAMAGE. Noticed electrical burning smell outside the previous day but could not find the source. In the morning found that the front, passenger door had caught fire and smoldered all night long burning to a crisp. Not sure the cause. The truck was last driven on Friday and sat all weekend until the problem was discovered Monday morning. The truck still runs and as far as I can tell everything except the speaker in the door is working and the passenger power seat which was also slightly burnt.

I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS ON 02/20/2014 AND ASKED FOR A REVIEW OF THE DEFECT AND REPAIR. I DOCUMENTED THE DEFECT AT HANLEES NISSAN PER NISSAN REQUEST AND FORWARDED THE INFORMATION TO THEM. I AM TOLD SINCE THE VEHICLE IS BEYOND THE WARRANTY PERIOD THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ASSIST ME. PROBLEM CONTINUED FOR MOST OF A YEAR BUT DID NOT GENERATE AN ERROR CODE. FINALLY DEVELOPED AN ERROR CODE INDICATING PROBLEM IN FIRST GEAR OF THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY WITH TCM. THIS REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF VALVE BODY INTERNAL TO THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH HAD BEEN CONTAMINATED BY AN UNDETECTABLE RADIATOR TO TRANS COOLER LEAK ALSO REQUIRING THE RADIATOR TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON PROBLEM, FOR WHICH NISSAN HAS DONE NOTHING, OTHER THAN PUTTING A SPECIAL COATING ON BOLTS INTERNAL TO THE TRANSMISSION TO DETECT THE PRESENCE OF COOLANT. DURING THE REPAIR THE MECHANIC NOTED THAT THE REAR AXLE SEALS WERE LEAKING AND RECOMMENDED THAT THEY BE REPAIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE COST TO REPAIR WAS ESTIMATED AT $750.00. WHILE WEB SURFING FOR THE REPAIR PROCESS FOR THE SEALS I RAN ACROSS MANY COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THIS PROBLEM WITH THE NISSAN TITAN INCLUDING MODELS FROM 2004 TO PRESENT (2012). LONG STORY SHORT; I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH NISSAN DEALERSHIP CLOSE TO WHERE I LIVE (STANLEY NISSAN) TO GET A RECALL DONE ON IT AS WELL AS HAVE IT LOOKED AT FOR MY ABS AND SLIP LIGHTS BEING ON CONSTANTLY AS WELL AS MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WHICH WAS ON BEFORE. A FEW DAYS BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT MY TRUCK STARTED DRIVING WEIRD AND DISENGAGING ITSELF OUT OF 4WD AND I WOULD LOSE CONTROL AT TIMES OR MY TRUCK WOULD STOP GOING FORWARD AND WOULD START TRYING TO GO SIDEWAYS, BUT THE RPM'S STILL WENT UP, BUT TRUCK WOULD NOT ACCEL FORWARD. IT ALSO STARTED MAKING A BANGING NOISE IN THE REAR, ALWAYS SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE. DROPPED IT OFF AT DEALERSHIP AND HEARD FROM THEM THE FOLLOWING DAY. SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THAT MY REAR BRAKE SHOES HAD BROKE AND SPUN AROUND IN THE BRAKE HOUSING AND DAMAGED MY BRAKE PADS, CALIPERS, ROTORS AND THEN MADE IT INTO MY REAR AXLE HOUSING AND DAMAGED MY ENTIRE REAR HOUSING AND DIFFERENTIAL. I AM A MECHANIC MYSELF AND THERE IS NO WAY THAT PIECES FROM THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY WOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE IT INSIDE AN ENCLOSED REAR HOUSING ASSEMBLY. THEY TOLD ME I NEED MY ENTIRE REAR AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL REPLACED ALONG WITH OTHER PIECES FOR THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY AND REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS. THEY TRIED TO TELL ME THAT ALL OF THIS WAS CAUSE BY BRAKE SHOES AND MY EMERGENCY BRAKE, WHICH I NEVER USE. THEY ARE QUOTING ME $4,200 FOR THE REPAIRS AND WON'T COVER ME UNDER MY POWERTRAIN WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH I AM STILL UNDER 60,000 MILES AND I CAN'T BE COVERED BY MY PLATINUM PACKAGE EXTENDED WARRANTY AS WELL WHICH COVERS ME UP TO 100,000 MILES. THE SERVICE MAN SAID THE ROTORS WERE NO LONGER COVERED AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY HAVE ROTORS TURNED. I WAS TOLD THE ROTORS WERE GOOD FOR 30,000 MILES. I THINK IT'S STRANGE THAT THE ROTORS NEED TO BE TURNED EVERY 10,000 TO 15,000 MILES. SERVICE MAN ACTED LIKE THIS WAS A COMMAND THING AND THAT IT WAS THE DRIVERS FAULT NOT THE COMPANY'S. I HAD AN ACCIDENT IN MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN IN JULY 08. I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT WHEN THE ENGINE ROARED THE TRUCK QUICKLY MOVED FORWARD AND I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE TRUCK. THE ONLY THING THAT STOPPED THE TRUCK WAS A CEMENT SPINDLE FENCE. I DESTROYED 10 FEET OF FENCE AND MY INSURANCE HAD TO PAY FOR THE DAMAGES. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO NISSAN AND THEY CHECKED IT, BUT THEY STATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, THEY THEN PERFORMED THE 30000 MILE MAINTENANCE FOR APPROX $600. THE NISSAN SERVICE PERSON TOLD ME THAT I MUST HAVE PUSHED THE GAS AND THE BRAKE AT THE SAME TIME TO CAUSE THE ACCIDENT. I THEN TOOK THE TRUCK TO AN OPEN FIELD AND PUSHED THE BRAKE AND THE GAS PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME AND THE TIRES JUST SPUN AND THE TRUCK DID NOT MOVE. I TRIED THE SAME THING IN AN EMPTY PARKING LOT, THE TIRES SPUN AND THE TRUCK DID NOT MOVE. I ENDED UP GETTING RID OF THE TRUCK BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID IF THE TRUCK SPED FORWARD ON ITS OWN AGAIN AND I COULD NOT STOP IT I MIGHT GET HURT OR KILLED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. FIVE MINUTES AFTER THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED SMOKE UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. HE SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE COOLANT WIRES, FUSE BOX WIRES, HARNESS WIRES, AND COOLANT UNIT/COMBO SWITCH WERE MELTED AND FUSED TOGETHER. THE DEALER WILL REPLACE THE COOLING FAN AND THE WIRING HARNESS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 64,000. UPDATED 062909 *BF THE DEALER STATED THE AC CONDENSER FAN MOTOR HOUSING RUSTED CAUSING THE MOTOR TO SEIZE AND OVERHEAT, LEADING TO THE WIRES BURNING OUT AND SHORTENING. 1. I OWN A 2006 NISSAN TITAN CREW CAB SE. AFTER NORMAL DRIVING OF THE VEHICLE FOR 2 YEARS AND 2 MONTHS THE VEHICLE REQUIRES AN ALIGNMENT. THE VEHICLE HAS NO WAY TO ADJUST THE CAMBER. THERE WAS NO CAMBER KIT INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE FROM THE FACTORY. EVERY MANUFACTURER KNOWS THAT PART OF PROPER MAINTENANCE IS REALIGNING THE VEHICLE. 2. I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET TO FIND OUT IF OTHER TITAN OWNERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS BLOGS OF 2006 NISSAN TITANS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR I HAVE FOUND THAT NISSAN FAILED TO PROVIDE THE ABILITY TO ALIGN THE VEHICLE. 3. NISSAN HAS DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. WHEN NISSAN IS CONTACTED THEY INFORM ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO SINCE MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY SINCE I HAVE EXCEEDED THE 36,000 MILES. I DRIVE DAILY ON UNLIT ROADS, AND THIS PROBLEM FREQUENTLY OCCURS. MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN'S AIR CONDITIONING/HEATING CONTROLS RESPONSE TO CHANGE IS SLOW WITH HEADLIGHTS ON (10-15 SECONDS TO MOVE FROM FLOOR TO DEFROST), CAUSING A SAFETY PROBLEM WHEN NEEDING TO DEFROST AT NIGHT. NISSAN INDICATED THIS SAFETY PROBLEM IS THE RESULT OF POOR DESIGN FOR TITANS SINCE THE ENGINEERS CHOSE TO USE THE VARIABLE VOLTAGE FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHT RHEOSTAT TO POWER THE HVAC CONTROLS. THIS 15 SECOND DELAY CAUSES A SAFETY PROBLEM SINCE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT SINCE THE DRIVER MAY BE UNAWARE THAT THE WINDSHIELD IS FOGGED UNTIL ONCOMING TRAFFIC COMES INTO VIEW. WHEN SWITCHING BETWEEN MODES (IN THIS CASE, HEAT TO DEFROST), BY THE TIME AIR BEGINS TO BLOW OVER THE WINDSHIELD, THE TRUCK HAS TRAVELED 1100 FEET WITHOUT ME BEING ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD (AT 50 MPH). THIS HAS MADE ME RUN OFF THE ROAD, OR NEARLY RUN OFF THE ROAD, NUMEROUS TIMES (AT LEAST 10 THAT I REMEMBER). THE ONLY OTHER OPTION IS TO TURN THE INSTRUMENT PANELS TO FULL BRIGHT WHICH BLINDS ME DURING NIGHTTIME DRIVING (JUST AS UNACCEPTABLE AS A FOGGED WINDSHIELD). NISSAN CURRENTLY HAS NO REPAIR FOR THIS MALFUNCTION. *NM

I LIKE THE TRUCK AND IT FUNCTIONS WELL EXCEPT FOR THIS MORE SIMPLISTIC ITEM AND THE DIFFICULTY IN GETTING REPAIR FROM A DEALER THAT I DID NOT PURCHASE THE VEHICLE AND THE NUMBER OF FAILURES OF THE SAME ITEM. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON 5/29/06 FROM VICTORY NISSAN OF RICHMOND. ONE WEEK LATER PROPERTY WAS STOLEN WHEN A SUNROOF WAS INSTALLED. AT THE END OF JUNE, BRAKES FAILED AND PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT STARTED GOING ON INTERMITTENTLY. ALSO, DRIVER SEAT IS CROOKED. DEALER SAID THEY BLED THE BRAKES AND CLUTCH(?). THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC. ALSO, THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE PASSENGER AIR BAG (THEN WHY DOES LIGHT KEEP COMING ON AND STAYING ON?) AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SEAT. LAST NIGHT (8/15/06) MY BRAKES FAILED AGAIN. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER THIS MORNING. I ADVISE THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THESE WERE LIFE SAFETY ISSUES AND SHOULD FALL UNDER THE LEMON LAW. I WAS ADVISED THE LEMON LAW WASN'T THEIR PROBLEM AND I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT NISSAN USA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE VDC [VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL] KEPT SHUTTING OFF. THIS IS A SAFETY FEATURE TO REGULATE MOTION AND SPEED OF THE 4 WHEELS. THE VDC WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON WITH THE VDC DASH BUTTON. THE DEALER STATED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL BEARINGS HAD FAILED AND THE TITAN WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. IT'S BEEN AT THE DEALER WAITING FOR A NEW REAR DIFFERENTIAL FOR 2 WEEKS. THE TRUCK WAS NOT DELIVERED WITH THE POWER FOLDING - AUTO DIM EXTERIOR MIRRORS; THE XM RADIOS DID NOT WORK; BED EXTENDER NOT INSTALLED; GAS TANK WASN'T FULL AS PROMISED. *JB
