The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the passenger’s side air bag warning light remained illuminated. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was not contacted regarding the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 92,000.

12/27/2021 Nissan Headquarters call and a case number 45372007 given on12/21/21 after speaking with a Sandra while at the Nissan repair location in Rivergate/Madison, TN. call from Nathaniel from Nissan Headquarters in Franklin, TN regarding air bag system. Replacement as part of recall warning light complaint and case filed. Air bag warning light came on 12/19/21, diagnostic 12/21/21 air bag control system needed replacement. Clock spring was replaced October 2019, 15 months after recall issues on Takata air bag system and full replacement completed 7/26/2018. Nissan cannot cover costs due to mileage on car. I noted wanting to have this on record that these issues began after the recall on air bags and replacement in 2018. 615-725-7000 12/31/21 car air bag issue repaired then air bag light would pop on 2 more times, once in January 2022 in which they said they forgot to ‘clear codes” and then in February 2022 when other issues surfaced, another part replaced. Then light pops on again 3/15/2022 and I notified the service advisor with Nissan who’d been helping me and took the car in the following week.I have already paid for repairs to the clock spring in October 2019 between $530-$600 and the repair done 12/31/21 totaling over $1000 which includes the diagnostic fee, parts and labor. $1600 is just the bare minimum of what's been paid out.3/30/2022: Nissan Versa 2010 was dropped off again at Nissan of Rivergate/Hayes Nissan due to air bag warning light coming on again. They are running another diagnostic. This has been a continual and consistent issue since the air bag recall and replacement in July 2018. I have paid for the clock spring to be replaced October 2019 and now other parts and many trips to this Nissan for a “fix.” Which now they are saying I may have to possibly pay again. This is unacceptable and seems that there may be other consumers dealing with this issue. Something is wrong with this recall and replacement causing these issues of safety.

Air bag light came back on again. Car is back at Nissan of Rivergate in Madison, TN 2/28/2022 for another parts replacement. This again was never an issue until the air bag recall and replacement of 2018. Your tracking number assigned by NHTSA for this issue is 11448887. Air bag recall and replacement July 2018. Repaired in October 2019 after air bag light came back on: clock spring replaced, I paid out of pocket. 2021 air bag light on again: whole other issue with air bag system, I paid out of pocket again. And I have to let them know to make sure parts are put back correctly. Some areas appear to be cracked near windshield due to the work, but I know that will be hard to prove with them. Air bag light came back on-again January 2022, they initially said it was that they didn't reset the sensors. Took car back, they reset. 2/3/22 air bag light came on again now a new part is being worked on 2/28/22. This has been an issue with the airg bag recall.

Air bag warning light has continued to cause issues/coming on since the recall and replacement of the air bag system in 2018. The air bag warning light has come on in 2019, 2021 and again 2022. All since the air bag recall of Summer 2018. No issues with the air bag system prior to the recall and replacement, but plenty since the replacement. This occurs upon the initial startup of the car.

The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Versa. The contact received a notification for two safety recalls NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 18V401000(AIRBAGS) and 17V449000(AIRBAGS). The contact stated that she was disabled and could not drive the vehicle to a dealer. The first dealer had been notified about the recall and informed her that they could tow her vehicle to the facility; however, she would have to pick up the vehicle once the repair was performed. Another dealer, Dennis Dillon Nissan(8727 W Fairview Ave, Boise, ID 83704) was also notified and gave her the same information. The manufacturer had been notified of the recall and offered no assistance. The contact had not experienced a failure. The recall had yet to be serviced.

There has been a popping and creaking noise when turning the wheel at low speeds to the left, the passenger side of the car has now dropped and the spring, struts and mounts have to be replaced. The same issue that these make and models were recalled for, yet the vin does not have any recalls.

THE PARTICULARS: - BROUGHT MY VEHICLE INTO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP ON 25-JAN-2019 TO HAVE THEM HANDLE WORK RELATED TO THEIR AIR-BAG RECALL - NISSAN ALSO HAD A RECALL PROGRAM RELATIVE TO ITS FRONT-END SUSPENSION SPRINGS, HTTPS://STATIC.NHTSA.GOV/ODI/RCL/2015/RCLRPT-15V573-4667.PDF - ON 21-AUGUST-2018, ONE OF MY SUSPENSION COILS HAD COMPLETELY ERODED AND THE OTHER COIL WAS CLOSE TO FULLY ERODING. THANKFULLY, THE WORN-OUT COILS WERE NOTICED WHILE THE CAR WAS NOT ON ANY ROADWAY. - 8/21/2018 WAS A TUESDAY. THE GEAR/SHIFT SELECTOR WON'T ALWAYS GO INTO PARK, DRIVE OR REVERSE CORRECTLY. WHEN THE CAR IS PUT IN PARK, IT WILL SHOW ON THE SHIFT SELECTOR AND THE DASHBOARD BUT IT'S HARD TO GET THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION, THE KEY WILL GET STUCK. WHEN THE CAR IS PUT IN DRIVE, IT WILL SHOW ON THE SHIFT SELECTOR AND THE DASHBOARD BUT IT WON'T IMMEDIATELY MOVE WHEN THE FOOT IS PUT ON THE GAS PEDAL. THE SHIFT SELECTOR HAS TO CONTINUOUSLY BE PLAYED AROUND UNTIL IT WORKS BUT IT ONLY WORKS ON A TEMPORARY BASIS.

FAN KNOB FOR AC/HEATER AT FIRST WOULD NOT MOVE THEN FELL OFF. MECHANIC SAID THAT THE CONNECTOR IN BACK OF CONTROL HEAD HAD MELTED. THEY SAID THEY WERE SURPRISED IT DIDN'T CATCH THE CAR ON FIRE. I HAD TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR NEW TIRES, TUNE UP, COOLANT FLUSH AND BECAUSE OF THE KNOB FALLING OFF.

THE METAL HEAT SHIELD PLATE SEPARATING MUFFLER AND FUEL TANK (?) IS DETACHED FROM THE BODY OR FRAME BY CORROSION (OF THE SCREWS). IT NOT ONLY MAKE SEVERE RATTLLING NOISE WHENEVER ENGINE RUNS BUT ALSO MAY CAUSE FIRE AND EXPLOSION IF THE PLATE IS COMPLETELY LOST WHILE THE CAR IS DRIVEN ON THE ROAD. THE PLATE IS NOW BARELY HUNG ON THE MUFFLER.

CARS EXHAUST IS MADE OF VERY POOR METAL. JUST AFTER 4 YEARS MUFFLER RUSTED OFF FROM CONNECTION. REPLACED MUFFLER ON 03/25/14 WITH AFTERMARKET ONE. SPRING OF 2015 I NOTICED EXHAUST NOISE BECAME LOUDER AGAIN. AFTER INSPECTION FOUND THAT MID PIPE RUSTED OFF AT CONNECTION TO MUFFLER, AND ANOTHER LEAK IN CAT CONVERTER SECTION OF EXHAUST. MY VERSA HAS 71K MILES AND NEEDS WHOLE NEW EXHAUST. MY MOM HAS SAME VERSA AND SAME PROBLEMS. I DO NOT THINK THAT THIS IS COINCIDENCE IN MANY FORUMS VERSA OWNERS COMPLAIN ABOUT SAME PROBLEMS. LOOKS LIKE NISSAN WENT VERY CHEAP ON MATERIALS FOR THIS MODEL CARS. I HAD MANY OTHER MANUFACTURERS VEHICLES AND NONE HAD SAME ISSUES.

The car was having slow acceleration, horrid loud noises for awhile but no issues were found during checks but parts were replaced to try and troubleshoot but the sound and idle and running issues still persisted. The first sign of severe major issue was when the car was started it jolted forward while still in park in a first start up. Turned off the car and restarted it and it repeated the same action and then I put the car into reverse but it wouldn't reverse. Took the car to my local Firestone and they said it had an internal transmission problem and I should take it back to the dealership. Within the month I went to the dealership in person and explained the issue and they said there wasn't a recall or service call for my car. That I'd have to pay for repairs and my car wasn't under warranty since the extra service plan I purchased already ran out. While coming home from work my car started to shudder and jolt and wasn't accelerating properly. I stopped at a gas station to see if the car smelled odd and to refuel. It started up but repeated jolting shudder and less than a mile down the road the car suddenly slowed by itself and stopped accelerating. I had to hook slide to the side of the road. I put the car in park and accelerated the engine responded. So I turned off the car and restarted put it in drive after multiple tries I got it to finally accelerate. Less than half a mile down the road as the car was going downhill the car started to shutter jolt again before coming to a complete stop at a light. No matter how long I waited it would not drive but would only reverse at that point. I had to contact family to help me push the car to the roadside and called a tow. The car currently sits in the driveway will start up and reverse but when attempting to accelerate sometimes it might drive for a few minutes before refusing to accelerate. I have the 2010 Nissan Versa SL hatchback with the CVT Xtronic transmission.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY THIS EVENING ON SATURDAY DECEMBER 19TH WHEN I AM TRYING TO DOWNSHIFT FROM 6TH AND TRYING GET OFF THE FREEWAY I COULDN'T GOING TO GEAR SO THAT'S WHEN I HAD THE CRUISE UNTIL I CAME TO A STOP SO AFTER TURN THE CAR OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES I PUT IT IN FIRST GEAR AND THEN I PROCEEDED IT AGAIN AND WAS ABLE TO ONLY DRIVE IN FIRST GEAR ON THE WAY HOME

I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK IN THE HIGHWAY I NOTICED THE RPMS GOING HIGH AND REALIZED SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CLUTCH I HEARD A NOISE IN THE TRANSMISSION AND THE CLUTCH WAS SLIPPING I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER IN A SAFE SPOT. MY MECHANIC CAME TO LOOK AT IT AND HE TOLD ME THOSE CARS CAME OUT DEFECTIVE FROM THE DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AFTER THIS HAPPENED AND SEE A LOT OF THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENING TO A LOT OF PEOPLE.

THE TRANSMISSION FAILED OUT OF THE BLUE AT 150,000 MILES. THIS OCCURRED AS THE CAR WAS TURNING FROM A BUSY ROAD INTO A PARKING LOT AND CREATED A HAZARDOUS SITUATION. THERE WAS NO SLIPPING OR LEAKS TO SPEAK OF BEFOREHAND. THE TECH WHO INSPECTED IT SAID THAT THERE WAS AN INTERNAL SEAL LEAK FAILURE. $4100 TO REPLACE IT (MORE THAN THE CAR IS WORTH AT THIS POINT).

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND TURNS OUT THE EVAPORATOR HAD A CRACK IN IT SO PAID NISSAN $1,500 TO REPLACE IT WITH A NON-GENUINE EVAPORATOR PART. THEN ABOUT SIX MONTHS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH HAD AC AT SPEED 4 WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. TOLD THE BLOWER MOTOR WAS BAD AND NEEDED REPLACING AT THE COST OF $1,500 TO DO IT. REFUSED THE WORK AND RAN BLOWER MOTOR ON A/C AT SPEED 3 FOR ABOUT A MONTH THEN AFTER THAT SEEMED TO WORK AT SPEED 4 AS WELL WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON. I THOUGHT IT WAS PROBABLY THE SPEED RHEOSTAT LIKE HAPPENED TO ME ON A FORD I HAD COST OF ITEM $25 AND DID IT MYSELF. THE RHEOSTAT MUST HAVE BEEN STUCK AND BECOME UNSTUCK AND I WOULD HAVE PAID FOR A REPAIR THAT WAS NOT NEEDED AND BEEN SCAMMED. *TR

I PURCHASED THIS CAR USED FROM A DEALERSHIP 11/3/2011, NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER, HAD REMAINDER OF REGULAR VEHICLE WARRANTY LEFT ON IT, NO PROBLEMS UNTIL THE OTHER DAY I THOUGHT IT SOUNDED LOUDER THAN NORMAL, SO WHEN I DROVE IT YESTERDAY IT WAS STILL LOUDER AND I LOOKED UNDERNEATH AND THE MUFFLER IS LOOSE AND THE EXHAUST SOUNDS TERRIBLE. THIS IS TERRIBLE FOR A NOT EVEN THREE YEAR OLD CAR WITH LESS THAN 30,000 MILES ON IT!!! VEHICLE LOST CONTROL EXITING A RIGHT HAND CURVE OF A COUNTY ROAD. THE VEHICLES SPEED AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH IS ESTIMATED AT APPROXIMATELY 55-65 MPH. A POST-CRASH MECHANICAL INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETED. THE INSPECTION REVEALED THE SPLINES ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE STEERING SHAFT HAD BEEN DAMAGED. THIS DAMAGE WAS CONSISTENT IN APPEARANCE WITH THE WHEEL BEING PLACED ON THE SHAFT AND PRESSED VIA THE STEERING WHEEL NUT WHEN THE SPLINES WERE OUT OF ALIGNMENT. THE STEERING WHEEL NUT WAS ABLE TO BE SPUN WITH ONE FINGER DURING THE INSPECTION. BOTH FINDINGS WERE NOT CONSISTENT WITH THE EXPECTED CRASH DAMAGE GIVEN THE CRASH SEQUENCE. AN AIRBAG RECALL HAD BEEN FULFILLED ON THE VEHICLE IN OCTOBER 2019 IN WHICH THE STEERING WHEEL WAS REMOVED. MY FRONT LEFT SUSPENSION COIL JUST BROKE WHILE DRIVING OVER A SEWER COVER ON A SIDE STREET. THE FRONT LEFT END OF MY CAR DROPPED A NOT AND A METAL PIECE OF COIL FLEW OUT FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY CAR WHICH I RECOVERED. I SEE THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAD A RECALL, ALSO NEVER GOT THE AIRBAG RECALLED.

I HAD MY MECHANIC CHECK MY CAR AFTER I HEARD NOISE/VIBRATION COMING FROM THE CAR WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT. IT TURNS OUT THE MUFFLER IS RUSTING FROM THE MANIFOLD BACK: INCLUDING CATALYTIC CONVERTER, CENTER AND REAR MUFFLER, HARDWARE AND GASKETS AND THE HEAT SHIELD NEEDS SECURED. THE CAR IS JUST OVER 50,000 MILES, NOT A LOT AND NISSAN SHOULD BE REPLACING THIS FREE OF CHARGE BUT I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. HEARD NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE. WENT TO DEALERSHIP. CAR IS 4.5 YEARS OLD...NOT EVEN PAID OFF YET BUT ABOUT 4,000 MILES OVER WARRANTY. I WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR ALMOST 31/2 HOURS. THEY HAD TO DISMANTLE MY WHOLE ENGINE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I WAS EVEN CHARGED AN HOUR OF LABOR BECAUSE IT TOOK THEM SO LONG TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE NOISE WAS. FINALLY, THE SERVICE MANAGER, CAME OUT TO SPEAK TO ME. APPARENTLY THEY HAD DISCOVERED "PISTON SLAP" IN TWO OF MY CYLINDERS. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO "FIX" THE PROBLEM OTHER THAN REPLACING THE ENGINE. HE SAID HE DID AN ESTIMATE ON THE PARTS AS BETWEEN THREE TO FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS....PLUS LABOR. THE MANAGER WAS VERY SYMPATHETIC TOWARDS ME AS I CRIED. Fuel pump failed with no notice while traveling on the interstate causing the engine to stop running. I was lucky that I was able to coast off the highway on to the shoulder. This occurred at night on a section of I-10 with a 75 MPH speed limit. If I had not been able to limp off the highway it would have been very dangerous. My Nissan Versa only has 75,000 miles and is well maintained. No warning lights or OBD codes were present before or after the failure. Replacing the fuel pump assembly fixed the problem.

THERE ARE TWO ISSUES INVOLVED. ENGINE STALLING AND TROUBLE STARTING. THE ENGINE STALLED AT LOW SPEED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THERE WERE NO INDICATORS, THE ENGINE JUST CUT OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. AIRBAG RECAL #PM685 PURCHASED NISSAN VERSA 2010 ON 5/24/17 DRIVER SIDE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE FIRST THE PLASTIC COVER OVER LOCK CAME OFF SAME DAY I BROUGHT IT HOME. SECOND DAY THE HANDLE CAME OFF. JOSHUA MOTORS HAD REPLACED HANDLE AND THE COVER OVER THE LOCK HAS FELL OFF AGAIN A SECOND TIME. THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM???? THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND SECURED TO NOT FALL OFF. I WAS DRIVING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AT 10 MPH AND HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND COMING FROM THE PASSENGERS SIDE FRONT WHEEL AREA AND SMELLED BURNING RUBBER. I PULLED OVER AND NOTICED A 360 DEGREE GASH IN THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE SIDEWALL. I TOOK THE TIRE OFF AND NOTICED THE SUSPENSION SPRING WAS BROKEN AND WAS SCRAPING THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE.

I HAVE ORDERED A PAIR OF TIRES FROM DISCOUNT TIRE DIRECT AND AFTER I PUT THEM ON THE CAR, I THOUGHT THEY ARE OK, SO I ORDERED ANOTHER PAIR. FEW MONTHS LATER ONE OF THE TIRES DEVELOPED UN-ROUND SHAPE AND IT WAS TORN FROM THE INSIDE. I HAVE CONTACTED DISCOUNT TIRE DIRECT, AND THEY FORCED ME TO PAY ANOTHER $14, AND I RETURNED THE BAD ONE AND THEY SENT ME ANOTHER ONE SAME MAKE AND MODEL. THIS WEEK I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. ONE OF THE TIRES DEVELOPED THAT UN-ROUND SHAPE AGAIN. BOTH INCIDENTS HAPPENED ON OUR FAMILY CAR WHERE MY LITTLE KIDS ARE INSIDE THE CAR. THATS UNACCEPTABLE; IF ANY OF THESE DEFORMATIONS WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE TIRE TO EXPLODE, THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED UNACCEPTABLE HARM TO MY FAMILY. THIS PRODUCT THREATENS THE WELL BEING OF MY FAMILY. MY 2010 NISSAN VERSA, WITH LESS THAN 10,000 MILES ON IT, HAS STEEL BELTS POPPING OUT THE SIDEWALLS OF THE CONTINENTAL CONTIPRO CONTACT P195/55 R16 TIRES. BOTH FRONT TIRES HAVE BELTS POPPING OUT. THE DEALER (EMPIRE NISSAN) HAS NOT OFFERED AN ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION. I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN WHEN I HEAR A SNAP AND THEN PASSENGER TIRE GETS POPPED AND DEFLATES. AT AN INTERSECTION GOING 10 TO 15 MPH. IT TURNS OUT MY FRONT SPRING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE COLLAPSED AND HAS SNAPPED A PEICE OF SPRING INTO MY TIRES BLOWING IT. I HAVEN'T DRIVEN THIS CAR FOR LONG, AND DRIVE QUITE SAFELY. I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 NISSAN VERSA TO WORK ON MARCH 12, 2013 WHEN I HEARD A GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM MY FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE AREA. I WASN'T FAR FROM WORK SO I DROVE THERE AND CALLED MY MECHANIC. HE PICKED UP MY CAR AND FOUND THAT A COIL SPRING HAD BROKE. HE TOLD ME IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT THAT HE WOULD SUGGEST THAT I REPLACE THE STRUTS AND COIL SPRINGS ON BOTH TIRES. HE GOT THE PARTS IN THE NEXT DAY AND FIXED IT ALL FOR ME. ABOUT A WEEK AGO I READ ABOUT A POSSIBLE DEFECT THAT IS UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR COIL SPRINGS BRAKING AND SLICING TIRES ON THE NISSAN VERSA'S. ALTHOUGH IN MY INSTANCE IT DIDN'T RESULT IN A CAR CRASH I FEEL THAT IT IS IMPORTANT FOR ME TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I DID HAVE A COIL SPRING BRAKE. I ALSO HAD CALLED NISSAN AND HAD TOLD THEM ABOUT IT HAPPENING. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON THE VEHICLE. The vehicle was previously taken to the local dealer and was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V449000 (Air Bags) and 18V044000 (Air Bags). The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The dealer informed the contact that a diagnostic test needed to be performed on the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

IT IS UNCLEAR IF THIS HAPPENED DURING OR AFTER DRIVING, BUT IT WAS DISCOVERED WHEN THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. THE UNLOCK SIGNAL EVEN WHEN THE DOORS ARE UNLOCKED IS NOT BEING SENT TO THE TAILGATE. A FAILURE TO DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE HIGH-QUALITY DOOR LATCH IS NOT A CONSUMER OR CUSTOMER ERROR. ADDITIONALLY, OTHER AUTO COMPANY'S LIKE FORD HAVE RECALLED THEIR DOOR ASSEMBLIES, BECAUSE ANY WEAKNESS IN A DOOR ASSEMBLY CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN WHILE DRIVING AND POSES A RISK TO THE PASSENGERS OR DRIVERS. FORD STATED THAT "SHOULD A CUSTOMER BE ABLE TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR WITH THESE CONDITIONS, THE DOOR MAY APPEAR CLOSED, BUT THE LATCH MAY NOT FULLY ENGAGE THE DOOR STRIKER WITH THE POTENTIAL THAT THE DOOR COULD OPEN WHILE DRIVING, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY." ONCE IN FOR SERVICING, I WAS NOTIFIED THAT IT WOULD NEED A NEW FUEL PUMP BECAUSE THERE WAS A LEAK. I SPOKE TO ANOTHER COMPANY AND THEY SAID IT SEEMED ODD THAT FOR SUCH A NEW CAR, IT WOULD NEED A NEW FUEL PUMP. THEY ALSO SAID THAT HAVING MY SPEED AFFECTED WAS VERY DANGEROUS. MY CAR IS A LITTLE OVER 75,000 MILES. I AM UNSURE WHAT TO DO IN SUCH A SITUATION AND FEEL THAT FOR SAFETY REASONS THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED, ESPECIALLY HAVING READ OF OTHER SUCH ISSUES WITH NISSAN VERSAS ONLINE. *TR

WE BOUGHT THE BASIC MODEL OF THE 2010 NISSAN VERSA. OUR CHIEF COMPLAINT IS THE FACT THERE IS ONLY ONE LOCK AND IT IS ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. I AM DISABLED THEREFORE WHEN I COME BACK FROM THE STORE OR SOME APPOINTMENT ETC OR HAVE MY GRANDCHILDREN OR OTHER CHILDREN FROM THE FAMILY, I HAVE FOUND THAT EITHER SOMEONE HAS PARKED TOO CLOSE TO OPEN THE DOOR ( MANY TIMES AND WHEN YOU ARE IN PAIN THE LAST THING YOU WANT TO DO IN THE RAIN OR 90+ WEATHER IS WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO COME OUT AND MOVE A VEHICLE WHEN YOU HURT TOO BAD TO WALK BACK WHEREVER YOU ARE) OR THE OTHER PROBLEM IS LEAVING CHILDREN UNATTENDED WHILE REACHING THRU TO UNLOCK THE PASSENGER DOOR BECAUSE YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO PHYSICALLY GET IN TO REACH THE OTHER LOCK. YOU DON'T WANT KIDS WALKING ACROSS CLOTH SEATS WITH DIRTY SHOES. WE NEED KEYLOCKS PUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOORS. IT IS A MATTER OF SAFETY IF ANYTHING ELSE. WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY AND YOU CANNOT UNLOCK YOUR CAR DOOR? WE DON'T LIKE POWER LOCKS BECAUSE OF THE GRANDKIDS AND CHILDREN WE HAVE WITH US THEIR AGES. THE TPMS (TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM) LIGHT REFUSES TO GO OFF. THE TIRE PRESSURE IS CORRECT PER MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS AND IT HAS BEEN CHECKED MONTHLY. WHEN THE OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE REACHES 80 DEGREES F., THE LIGHT SHUTS OFF. LIVING IN NEW ENGLAND, THE LIGHT IS ON MOST OF THE TIME. IRONICALLY, 3 MONTHS INTO CAR OWNERSHIP, WE HAD A FLAT TIRE AND THE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS 14,500 MILES ON IT. *TR

2010 NISSAN VERSA. CONSUMER STATES UNINTENDED ACCELERATION *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE EXPERIENCED ENGINE ACCELERATION WHILE HIS FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. THE CONSUMER STATED HE SHIFTED THE GEAR TO NEUTRAL AND THE ENGINE RAN AT AN UNUSUALLY HIGH RPM FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS BEFORE RETURNING TO ITS NORMAL 1000 RPM. THE SECOND TIME THE INCIDENT HAPPENED, THE CONSUMER WAS ATTEMPTING TO MERGE WITH THE TRAFFIC FROM A PARALLEL PARKING SPOT AND WHILE HOLDING THE FOOT BRAKE, HE FELT THE ENGINE STRAINING UNTIL HE SHIFTED THE GEAR TO NEUTRAL WHICH ALLOWED THE ENGINE TO ACCELERATE BRIEFLY AND THEN IT RETURNED TO NORMAL. FINALLY, TWO WEEKS AGO, WHEN THE CONSUMER SHIFTED FROM PARK TO DRIVE, THE ENGINE REVVED UP AND WHEN HE SHIFTED BACK TO NEUTRAL THE RPM'S ROSE TO OVER 3,000 BEFORE SETTLING BACK TO NORMAL. *JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, APPROACHING A STOP SIGNAL. WHEN THE BRAKES WERE ENGAGED THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SKID AND FISHTAIL WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DEFLATED THE AIR PRESSURE IN THE FOUR TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER A SECOND TIME FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURES. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THAT THE BRAKING SYSTEM WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF PURCHASING A NEW VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 275.
