The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the contact became aware that the air bag warning light was blinking off and on. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the air bag spiral cable on the driver’s side to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Approximately one week after the repair, the air bag warning light was again illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer to be diagnosed. The mechanic stated that the air bag module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

ON FEBRUARY 2, 2021 AROUND 0820 ON SOUTH MARINE CORP DRIVE RT.1 (ACROSS EAST AGANA MOBIL GAS STATION) THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG IN MY VEHICLE HAD UNEXPECTLY DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING (VEHICLE IN MOTION) TO WORK; WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I'M HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO NISSAN GUAM FOR THEM TO INVESTIGATE AND THE RESULTS WERE GIVEN TO ME BY SERVICE MANAGER GIBERT A SPIRAL CABLE IN THE STEERING COLUMN GROUNDED, OVERTIME CAUSING A SHORT CIRCUIT IN THE AIRBAG MODULE WHICH ENACTED THE UNEXPECTED DEPLOYMENT AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL. AND BECAUSE THE AIRBAG HAS DEPLOYED WE THERE IS NO RECALL ITEMS TO REPLACE. THE VEHICLE REMAINS IN NISSAN GUAM'S POSSESSION AT THE MOMENT.

ITALKED TO THE DEALER AND TO THE NISSAN CORPORATE OFFICE AND NOBODY WILL HELP. 2012 nissan versa commonly known for defective cvt transmissions I had taken it to costal nissan to get it looked at before for a jerking transmission and the dealership just adjust a brake light switch the problem came back and threw an engine code for input sensor after replacing all my bulbs the problem went away for a couple months but the past 2 months it started slipping jerking stuck in low gears high reving rpms I had the transmission fluid serviced or replaced and it worked good for about a week died in the middle of the road with no throttle response I've only driven this car 5k miles in 8 months of purchase vehicle is available for inspection at any time

There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact released the accelerator pedal and continued to drive; however, the failure reoccurred while driving. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring increasingly while depressing the accelerator pedal and had worsened. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

The vehicle is a 2012 Nissan Versa driven only 81,000+ miles. I was driving the vehicle up a modest incline on Saturday, February 12, 2022. The car started to shudder and felt like it was losing power, as if it were running out of fuel. I pulled off when I turned the next corner and stopped. As I started out again, the check engine light came on, so I drove it to my mechanic. He has informed me that the malfunction code is a transmission failure code, and he is performing more diagnostics related to this code. In doing research, I now know that there is a fundamental failure with the CVT automatic transmissions for this model year of Nissan Versa, typically occurring at 75,000-85,000 miles. I am not eligible for Nissan's $278M settlement of a class action suit for this issue, because claims were only eligible for the first 84 months after purchase and the claim window is now closed. Everything I have read suggests that this is a critical and dangerous problem, because this CVT transmission failure can even result in the car losing all power and coming to a complete stop in traffic. This is a fundamental and life-threatening issue for which I believe Nissan should provide a full recall for the affected vehicles.

I bought a used 2012 Nissan Versa from a third party at a very low mileage (46k miles), and it’s now at 54k, and the CVT is showing issues. Check engine light recently came on and I’ve always went to Nissan technicians and they said they’re surprised at 54k miles I’m even having this kind of an issue. However because of the age of vehicle and warranty expired in 2018 well after I purchased it, Nissan refuses to repair what they’ve seem to have poorly manufactured. I’m a student and cannot afford this kind of repair which was the sole purpose of purchasing a low mileage vehicle to begin with. The car is is in great condition, well taken care of, LOW mileage, but a broken down CVT? This is unacceptable.

IN reference to NHTSA Recall 15V-507 on this vehicle which included a CVT transmission reprogramming ,which I handled by taking vehicle to the dealer on 10/20/2015! The letter I received added this issue as if it were a COURTESY action of Nissan and made NO mention of the CVT transmission having MAJOR ISSUES! As MOST Car Owners, I assumed that this 2015 CVT reprogramming would resolve any PAST or FUTURE issues with it.! I was still concerned that my vehicle was only 3 years & already had 2 recall items! Sadly, I trusted the dealer & once these were handled , I felt good about driving the vehicle, thinking it should go to about 150,000 miles! I have NOW learned that so many of the CVT transmissions were totally failing and lawsuits were being filed because of it. Apparently in 2017, NISSAN admitted it and extended the warranty on CVT transmissions. If I ever received notice of this, I have no printed copy or memory of that! I lived 2 minutes from work in 2012 and retired a year after purchase. I primarily drive locally and short distances and have very low miles on this vehicle. NOW..My 6-week dilemma:*Check engine light came on 7/9/22, right after I got gas! Garage kept, only 52,000 miles on it, routinely serviced and in stellar condition, I am NOW being told that the CVT transmission needs TOTAL replacement. MY CAR however, did PASS NC inspection at a Nissan dealership (with Check Engine light STILL ON) 7/21/22, with them giving a 4200.00 estimate When I said I had no money, they sent me out the door and said they hope I don't break down! NISSAN of North America is going totally by VEHICLE'S AGE, even though I have found reference that the CVT warranty should be 10 years or 120,000! Since 7/9/21, I have been given totally conflicting information on current SAFETY of MY CAR and the best offer given by NISSAN is to reduce my repair cost to $2381.09 for a REBUILT transmission with ONE-YEAR warranty! MY main concern: IS MY CAR SAFE TO DRIVE? I am 64!

THE KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION AND IT IS STUCK. NOTHING HAPPENED TO CAUSE THIS, IT JUST HAPPENED. TOOK IT TO NISSAN AND THEY COULDN'T GET IT OUT. THEY TOOK IT APART FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND SAID THE ENTIRE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY NEEDS REPLACED AND IT IS $865 ESTIMATED REPAIR.

2012 NISSAN VERSA HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. MY MOTHER AND FATHER WERE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND THE CAR KEPT JERKING LAGGED WHEN CHANGING GEAR. MY MOTHER WAS SCARED BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T KNOW IF THE CAR WAS GOING TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY OR JERK WHEN SHE PRESSED THE GAS. NISSAN IS WELL AWARE THAT IT'S CARS HAVE ISSUES AND THEY HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTIES BECAUSE OF A LAWSUIT ON SOME VEHICLES BEFORE 2012 BUT HAVE NOT EXTENDED IT FOR MORE RECENT VEHICLES WHICH ARE HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AGAINST NISSAN REGARDING THIS AND I HAVE RECENTLY JOINED THAT LAWSUIT.

WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ON A BUSY CITY STREET AT 7:00 AM THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED RUNNING AND WOULD NOT RESTART IN THE MIDDLE OF A TRAVEL LANE FOR NO REASON WHAT SO EVER REQUIRING A TOW, WITH OVER HALF A TANK OF GAS, AND PLENTY OF FLUIDS ALL THE WAY AROUND. THE CAR HAS BEEN MAINTAINED SO THE ENGINE SHOULD NOT HAVE CUT OFF LIKE THIS.

BOTH FRONT COIL SPRINGS SNAPPED WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR 1 WEEK. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM.(RECALL #15V573000) THIS RECALL WAS EXPANDED IN 2017 (RECALL # 17V637000) THE RECALL IS FOR CARS SOLD IN NEW YORK STATE, HOWEVER EVEN THOUGH MY VEHICLE WAS SOLD IN NEW YORK STATE, MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE RECALL IS FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF ROAD SALT CORRODING THE SPRINGS, CAUSING THEM TO BREAK. THIS CAR IS DRIVEN IN UPSTATE NEW YORK AND THIS IS LIKELY THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM ON MY VEHICLE. I WOULD REQUEST THAT THIS RECALL BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE VEHICLES MANUFACTURED AT THE SAME TIME AS MY VEHICLE AND SOLD IN NEW YORK STATE.

NHTSA RECALL 17V-637 - HAS ALREADY BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THIS CAR IN THE SNOW IN WILKES-BARRE, PA AND MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD (APPROX 15 MPH), FELT A JOLT ON THE RIGHT SIDE FRONT WHEEL, THEN THE STEERING BECAME VERY DIFFICULT. SHE TOOK THE CAR TO A MECHANIC IN WILKES-BARRE, PA (WHERE SHE HAS BEEN IN COLLEGE FOR THE LAST 2.5 YEARS) AND WAS TOLD THAT BOTH FRONT COIL SPRING HAD RUPTURED IN HER 2012 NISSAN VERSA HATCHBACK. WE HAVE SINCE DISCOVERED THAT THIS EXACT ISSUE ON THIS EXACT VEHICLE IS DAMAGING AND DANGEROUS ENOUGH TO ISSUE THE RECALL REFERRED TO ABOVE. I PROCEEDED TO COMPLETE THE "NISSAN VERSA MODEL YEAR 2012 HATCHBACK FRONT COIL SPRING SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN FORM" WITH ALL THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION AND SENT IT TO NISSAN AMERICA. I WAS CONTACTED AND TOLD THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I REPEATED THE VIN AND THEY ASSURED ME THAT THIS PARTICULAR CAR WAS NOT COVERED IN THIS SAFETY RECALL. I HOPE TO GAIN AT LEAST PARTIAL RELIEF OF THIS $913.54 REPAIR OF A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE IN THIS CAR. I HAVE ATTACHED THE CLAIM FORM AND DOCUMENTATION FOR YOUR REVIEW. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU ABOUT HOW TO PROCEED.

NOISE COMING FROM SPRINGS WHEN GOING OVER ANY BUMPS ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS COLD. DEALER DROVE VEHICLE AT 35000 MILES IN 2014 AND SAID THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE ISSUE. I DROVE FROM DEALER AND WAS ABLE TO REPRODUCE. SAW 2015 RECALL #15V573000 AND TOOK CAR TO DIFFERENT DEALER AND THEY STATE MY VIN IS NOT ON THE RECALL. CAR STILL HAS SAME ISSUE, NISSAN WILL NOT PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION FOR MY CAR TO SHOW THAT COILS ARE NOT THE SAME LOT THAT IS ON RECALL.

RANDOMLY ONE DAY, I WENT TO BRAKE, IT FAILED TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP MY CAR, FREAKING OUT I PUMPED IT AND THEN IT STOPPED BY THE 3RD TRY AND JOLTED. IT HAS SINCE BEEN DOING THAT EVERY DAY. WE'VE REPLACED THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER, THAT DIDN'T WORK, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID IT WAS THE BREAK AND ROTATORS, REPLACED THOSE, THAT ALSO DIDN'T WORK. THERE ARE NO LEAKAGES, THE HOSE IS FINE, AND BRAKE FLUID IS GREAT. I HAVE A ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THEM TO HAVE A TECH RIDE WITH ME TO SEE WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. BUT THIS ISN'T SAFE AND I'VE BEEN DRIVING LIKE THIS FOR 3WEEKS NOW AND FIXED EVERYTHING I WAS TOLD IT COULD BE, WASTING MY MONEY, AND IT'S STILL NOT FIXED. MILES ARE 130,000ISH. I DRIVE IT MAINLY ON THE HIGHWAY TO GET TO WORK, FOR AN HOUR THERE AND BACK.

COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND NO BRAKING WHATSOEVER. FORTUNATELY, STOPPED THE CAR BY USING THE HANDBRAKE. PROPER FUNCTION RETURNED AFTER TURNING OFF AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE.

WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND THE BRAKES DID NOT ENGAGE. PEDAL TO THE FLOOR- NO BRAKES. AFTER THE INITIAL "TO THE FLOOR", I WAS ABLE TO PUMP THE BRAKES TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THIS IS THE SECOND INCIDENT OF BRAKES NOT ENGAGING- THE FIRST HAPPENED AT SIDE-STREET SPEED, AND I WROTE IT OFF AS A FLUKE. VEHICLE HAS AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP IN TWO DAYS.

11587629 does not explain the issue I Reported 2012 Nissan Versa SV made July 2011, purchased Sep. 2011. 2022 45000 miles check engine light. o2, crankshaft position codes. A pig tail connected up stream o2 to crankshaft pos. sensor. Pig tail wires not togather, only taped' These two sensors were not connected to main wire harness.. Nissan new harness and labor $1100.+ , for what they didn't make right when built. How many people have been charged for this repair? That was Nissan's fault.

HOWEVER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DISAPPEARED AFTER A WHILE. THE LIGHT REAPPEARED NOW IN 2020 SHOWING THE SAME FAULTY CODE. THE EXTERIOR SIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORS ARE NOT WIDE ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO SEE MOST VEHICLES INCLUDING LARGE SUV'S ETC, IN THE LANES ON EITHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS MAKES CHANGING LANES VERY DANGEROUS. I'VE NEARLY COLLIDED WITH VEHICLES ALONGSIDE ME A NUMBER OF TIMES TRYING TO CHANGE LANES. THIS WILL BE A CONSTANT PROBLEM UNTIL THE MIRRORS ARE REPLACED OR I REPLACE THE CAR WITH ANOTHER BRAND.THIS ISSUE HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR CAUSING ACCIDENTS AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. WHILE ALL CARS HAVE BLIND SPOTS, THE BLIND SPOTS FOR THIS CAR ARE ESPECIALLY SEVERE AND DANGEROUS DUE TO THE EXTERIOR SIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORS BEING TOO SMALL FOR VEHICLES TO BE SEEN IN. NISSAN IS SOMEWHAT AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE FOR THE 2015 MODEL YEAR, NISSAN HAS ENLARGED THESE EXTERIOR SIDE REARVIEW MIRRORS SO THAT VEHICLES IN LANES ALONGSIDE THE VERSA CAN NOW BE MORE EASILY BE SEEN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I FEEL NISSAN SHOULD HAVE TO RECALL THE 2012-2014 VERSAS AND REPLACE THE EXISTING REVIEW EXTERIOR MIRRORS WITH THE LARGER MIRRORS THAT ARE NOW ON THE 2015-2016 VERSAS.

MY DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WILL NO LONGER OPEN FROM THE INSIDE, IT CAN ONLY OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. I WAS SIMPLY PARKED AND TRYING TO EXIT MY VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF DISCOVERY, AND I HAD TO ROLL DOWN MY WINDOW TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. THERE WAS NO SPECIFIC INCIDENT THAT CAUSED THE HANDLE TO BREAK, AND THERE WAS NO UNUSUAL WEAR & TEAR THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE HANDLE TO BREAK. WE OPENED THE DOOR PANEL TO SEE IF WE COULD FIND OUT WHY THE HANDLE WASN'T WORKING. WE DISCOVERED THE CORD THAT CONNECTS TO THE HANDLE IS BROKEN. CONSIDERING I HAVE NEVER DONE ANYTHING UNUSUAL WITH MY DOOR HANDLE, I FEEL THAT THIS CORD IS A DEFECT AND SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR OTHER DRIVERS AS WELL.

TRANSMISSION RECALL BUT NOTHING SENT TO TELL US TELLING US THAT THERE WAS A RECALL. WE WERE TOLD IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CALL THEM. WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR THE CAR JUST STOPPED GOING FORWARD AND STARTED TO COAST TO A STOP. LUCKILY WE WERE ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BEFORE BEING TAIL ENDED AND POSSIBLY KILLED. AFTER TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALER WE WERE TOLD ALL WAS OK BUT WHEN LEAVING IT WAS APPARENT THE PROBLEM STILL WAS THERE AFTER WE DROVE SOME DISTANCE. TOOK THE CAR BACK IN A COUPLE DAYS AND THEN WE WERE TOLD IT WOULD COST 4200 TO REPAIR BECAUSE IT WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND THERE WERE TO MANY MILES ON THE CAR. TRADED THE CAR IN AT AN ENTERPRISE AFTER TELLING THEM ABOUT OUR TROUBLE; THEY LOOKED UP THE VIN # AND SAID IT WASN'T REPAIRED AS THE RECALL REQUIRED. AFTER THAT I WENT TO CERTIFIED TRANSMISSION AND PAID FOR THEM TO TEST IT AND THEY ALSO SAID I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND THAT THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE CVT. I THEN WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE AND BOUGHT A DIFFERENT CAR AND HAVE ONLY DRIVEN THE NISSAN VERSA A HANDFUL OF TIMES SINCE UNTIL I COULD GET A NEW TRANSMISSION. MY CAR HAD A R1709 RECALL. THIS WAS TO FIX THE AIRBAGS. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO HAD THE REPAIR DONE. THE WAITING TIME I WAS TOLD WOULD BE ABOUT 1 OR 2 HOURS. IT TOOK ABOUT 5 HOURS AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS BECAUSE A NEW INEXPERIENCED MECHANIC WAS WORKING ON IT. WHEN I GOT MY CAR BACK THE LIGHTS TELLING ME THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE AIRBAGS WERE STILL BLINKING. I HAD NO TIME TO GO BACK SINCE THEY HAD JUST WASTED ALL THE TIME I HAD. THE VERY NEXT DAY I REALIZED THAT NOW MY CAR'S HORN DOESN'T WORK EITHER. THIS WAS NEVER A PROBLEM BEFORE. I CALLED TO TELL THEM I BELIEVE THEY MAY HAVE MESSED UP THE WORK THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO. THE DEALERSHIP UPDATED SOFTWARE AND ADJUSTED RANGE SWITCH. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. NOW THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS A SHORT-CIRCUIT NEAR TAIL LIGHT. NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I PURCHASED A 2012 NISSAN VERSA FROM A PRIVATE OWNER FOR MY GRANDSON TO DRIVE AT COLLEGE. A WEEK AFTER THE PURCHASE, MY GRANDSON WAS DRIVING ON I95 AT 55 MPH AND THE ENGINE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN. WHEN I WAS BUYING THIS CAR FROM MCCULSKEY USED I QUESTIONED THE TRANSMISSION. ASKED THAT THEY PUT THIS IN WRITING. THEY REFUSED AND STATED THAT IT WAS FINE. WHILE RESEARCHING MY CAR I FOUND THAT 2007-2010 TRANS HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I SPOKE TO NISSAN COMPANY TO MAKE A COMPLAINT. THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME. RECENTLY THE PS LIGHT IS COMING ON. THE POWER STEARING IS OUT WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON. WHEN YOU SHUT THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON THE POWER STEARING WORKS UNTIL THE LIGHT RETURNS. The contact owns 2012 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling or while driving at various speeds, the driver's side floor was significantly hot, and the contact could feel the heat on her feet. The contact stated that the front driver's side floor carpet was burned, and the metal was visible. Additionally, the contact stated that the front brake pads were wearing prematurely and were replaced several times. The contact stated that while an oil change was being performed at Express Oil, the technician informed the contact that he had burned his hand due to the exhaust and manifold being significantly hot. The contact was referred to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, where the contact was provided an estimate for a diagnostic test and the repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that she would be contacted later. The failure mileage was unknown.

ON SEPT 29TH AT OR AROUND 3:45PM MY FAMILY AND I WERE DRIVING TO A SWIM MEET ON HIGHWAY 60 IN MESA, AZ. ABOUT 5 MILES INTO THE TRIP I HEARD A HISSING SOUND COMING FROM THE AC SYSTEM AND A MINUTE LATER WE HAD NO AC PUMPING THROUGH. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THAT MONDAY (ASSUMING IT WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY) I WAS TOLD A ROCK HAD HIT THE CONDENSER IN SUCH A WAY THAT IT CAUSED THE SYSTEM TO NEED REPAIR AND THAT WAS NOT COVERED. I ASKED IF THIS WAS A COMMON INCIDENT AND WAS TOLD IT HAS OCCURRED BEFORE. IN FACT IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW. THE DEALERSHIP WAS TO CHARGE 700.00 PLUS. I WAS FLABBERGASTED!!! THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO EXPERIENCE HIGH FREQUENCY GAS PEDAL VIBRATION THAT IS FELT ONLY BETWEEN 2500 - 3000 RPM AT ANY SPEED AS LONG AS IN THIS RPM RANGE THE VIBRATION CAN BE ALSO FELT IN THE BRAKE PEDAL WITHOUT APPLYING THE BRAKES IN THE SAME RPM RANGE SINCE THERE IS ONE BRACKET FOR ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE. NO VIBRATION DURING BRAKE APPLICATION. THE DEALER TESTED THE CAR AND STATED THAT ANOTHER NEW 2012 VERSA HAS THE SAME ISSUE AND WILL NOT CONTINUE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM SINCE IT IS A WASTE OF TIME. THE PROBLEM CAUSES UNCOMFORTABLE PULSATION THAT RESULTS LOOSING FEELING IN MY FOOT AT THAT ENGINE SPEED. I HAD BEEN AN ASE CERTIFIED MASTER TECHNICIAN AND I NEVER EXPERIENCE VIBRATION IN THE GAS PEDAL AS AN SYMPTOM IN ANY OF MY COMPLAINTS. The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that occasionally while driving at various speeds, the horn failed to function while needed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who advised the contact to reach out to the local dealer because the failure might be due to a possible air bag failure. The local dealer advised the contact to reach out to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the manufacturer related the failure to an unknown NHTSA Campaign that was possibly associated with the VIN in the past. The failure mileage was approximately 136,000.

After having my transmission replaced with a used CVT transmission on Dec 2021, I went to leave the transmission shop only to have no power. When I gave my vehicle gas, there was no power it would not go forward or backwards. The code repeatedly coming up was P2101. My car was in the shop for 4 months with Williams Transmission in Park Hills, MO 63601. (573) 431-6570. Every time Willie would call & say it’s fixed & I would go try driving g home, again same issue. Finally on March 23, 2022 I was called once again to come pick up my car after hack v another used CVT Transmission put in still the same code P2101 was coming up with the check engine light. It took me 40 mins to go home occasionally getting evcrlation to make it home, it should’ve took no more than 10 mins from his shop to my house.. I paid $3000 to have transmission replaced and still isn’t running correctly. I lose excelaration on highway, county & city tosds. I never know when!! It’s a big issue & major safety issues & concerns

I’ve had problems with this car from day one. All manor like Ac and heater going out that’s OK. All issues I can deal with in time. But Now this can’t handle I’ve had to actually stop driving my vehicle. The check Engine light starts to flash then the car doesn’t want to shift feeping like your about to blow up the car if you go over 20mph. transmission start to jerk and sUpper like your not get fuel or something. It’s been missing up so bad not to mention it’s freakin scary and you terrified you’ve got to pull it over. Turn off the car try again. I’ve had to leave my vehicle at random places multiple times too scared to drive it home. Now I tried to finally look at the problem to see what it might be happening cus nobody else seems to know what the issue is. And I see there several people with the same issue on the 2012 Nissan Versa.

Vehicle is moving in forward direction always even if the gear shift is in Park or Reverse mode. It is scary. It put us lot of stress in terms of physical health, mental health and finance. We nearly met with an accident as vehicle was moving always in forward direction as soon as we moved the car from the parking lot. We towed the vehicle considering our and public safety. Contacted Nissan dealership and consumer affairs team. They went only by the books. Told that there is no recall. They did not seem to care about the safety. They asked me to go ahead and shell out for fixing. The same vehicle stopped in the middle of the road with heavy jerk/forward movement. We were lucky that we did not meet with an accident. We had to tow the vehicle in that case. I had to replace fuel pump at my own cost. With multiple safety concerns on this vehicle, I am surprised that there is no recall on this model. At the least, I was expecting this for my VIN. Request you to help on the recall considering the public safety. With vehicle few thousand dollars worth still, I may need to review and make a choice on disposing this vehicle (not sell) by taking the financial hit. Financial hit in this uncertain situation means a lot to me. It puts pressure. Since I care about public safety, I am reviewing this as the last choice. Nissan does not seem to be worried as there is no recall. Correct option is to have this vehicle recalled. Request you to review and help from safety perspective

Backing up out of a parking space the lights started flashing cruise control air bag horn started blowing whole dash lit up when I straightened the vehicle the horn stopped. Got to my destination backed up a few feet as soon as I turned the wheel and attempted to put it in drive the airbag deployey. I did not hit anything. The airbag deployed for some unknown reason. Fearful car might catch fire very startling called 911 fire dept disabled battery had the vehicle towed and reported the issue to Nissan. I also reported this on Sunday after it happened.

Called ins company set up CV claim because air bag deployed for no apparent reason hit me in the chest possibly due to electrical something malfunctioned.police also came but said I did not need to report anything because I did not hit anything. Called geico had vehicle towed and because air bag deployed they created a claim. Had vehicle towed to firestone but they were closed today adjuster from insurance company coming out tomorrow 892021 to assess damage and repairs needed.

BOTH THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY HOOD LATCHES FAILED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH. THE HOOD FLEW OPEN CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE MENTOR NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHO INSPECTED THE HOOD LATCHES AND INDICATED THAT THE LATCHES WHERE BOUND UP AND THE CONDITION OCCURRED THROUGH NO FAULT OF THE VEHICLE OWNER AND THE CONDITION WAS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS WOULD NOT AUTHORIZE ANY REPAIRS BECAUSE THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM ON THE VERSA, HOWEVER THERE IS A RECALL ON THE ALTIMA FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE BINDING OF THE HOOD LATCH ON MY NISSAN VERSA IS THE SAME CONDITION THAT OCCURRED ON THE ALTIMA. THE COATING APPLIED TO THE HOOD LATCH BY THE LATCH MANUFACTURER CAUSES IT TO BIND OVER TIME AND NOT LATCH PROPERLY.

I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE ABOVE MENTIONED SHOP AND THEY PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT SHOWED ECM NO COMMUNICATION. THEY REPLACED A MAXI FUSE 20A AND REPROGRAMED KEY. ON 23 MARCH 2017, I PICK UP THE CAR FROM THE SHOP, DROVE ABOUT 5 MILES AND CAR SHUTS-DOWN AGAIN. AS OF 9 APRIL 2017, THE CAR IS STILL IN THE SHOP. THEY CAN NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE.

I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT THAT I PURCHASED A NISSAN VERSA ON APRIL 5, 2015. THE NIGHT I DROVE IT HOME I NOTICED A FEW PROBLEMS: FIRST: THE SEAT BELT LIGHT STAYS ON UNLESS BOTH FRONT SEATS ARE BUCKLED EVEN IF THE DRIVE IS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE VEHICLE. THIS IS CAUSE FOR THE VEHICLE TO NOT PASS STATE INSPECTION AND THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM IS TELLING ME THEY TOOK THE CAR TO TWO DIFFERENT NISSAN DEALERSHIPS AND THIS IS PROPER FUNCTION FOR THE NISSAN VERSA. THE MECHANIC FROM THE INSPECTION STATION AND I EACH CALLED NISSAN DEALERSHIPS AS WELL AND EACH OF THE DEALERSHIPS WE SPOKE WITH SAID THIS IS IN FACT INCORRECT AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED. SECOND: THE CAR IS NOT ACCELERATING OR SHIFTING (ATLEAST THAT IS HOW I DESCRIBED IT). I TRIED TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC AND RPM'S MOVED WAY UP BUT THE CAR HESITATED TO MOVE FORWARD ONCE IT STARTED TO MOVE I HAD TO PUT ON THE BRAKES BECAUSE TRAFFIC WAS TOO CLOSE. I DROVE IT TO WEST VIRGINIA WITH MY YOUNG SONS IN TOW AND IT COULD NOT KEEP UP WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC AND CONTINUED TO GET WORSE THE LONGER WE WERE ON THE ROAD OR ON AN INCLINE. THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE 70 AND IT TOOK A LONG TIME TO GET UP TO SPEED. WHEN THERE WAS AN INCLINE (WE WERE IN THE MOUNTAINS) THE RPM'S WOULD GO UP TO 4,000- 4,500 BUT THE CAR WOULD STAY AT 60 MPH AND LOSE SPEED. THE DEALERSHIP CALLED ME AND WAS VERY CONDESCENDING LETTING ME KNOW THEY COULD FIND NO PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. THEY WILL NOT EVEN FIX THE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT EVEN THOUGH I CAN NOT GET MY HARD TAGS FOR THE CAR.

THERE IS A BATTERY LIGHT, BRAKE LIGHT, PS LIGHT AND OIL LIGHT ON THE DASH. I RESEARCHED IT AND EVERYTHING INDICATED A BAD ALTERNATOR. I BOUGHT A NISSAN ALTERNATOR AND PUT IT ON. STILL NEVER TURNED OVER. THE FUEL PUMP RUNS AND I PUT SOME STARTING FLUID INTO THE THROTTLE BODY AND IT STARTED BUT DIED AFTER A FIVE SECONDS. I WAS GETTING READY TO BACK MY VERSA INTO A PARKING SPACE. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, MY VERSA WENT INTO NEUTRAL BUT THE SHIFT STILL SAID D FOR DRIVE, HAD NO ACCELERATION TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY PASSED IT OFF AS NOTHING BECAUSE NOTHING READ ON THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND THEY BASICALLY SAID IN A ROUND ABOUT WAY I'M A WOMAN ARE YOU SURE YOU DIDN'T BUMP IT INTO NEUTRAL? THEN A MONTH LATER HAD IT BACK AS IT DID THE SAME THING BUT THIS TIME I WAS GOING 25 MPH. HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER AGAIN AND THERE WAS NOTHING READING AND RESET THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. HAPPENED AGAIN BUT WAS IN OUR PARKING LOT AND JUST BLEW IT OFF AS THE DEALER WOULD JUST TELL ME NOTHING WAS WRONG. JUST YESTERDAY (6/29) AS I WAS TURNING INTO THE PARK I WORK AT IT SLIPPED BACK INTO NEUTRAL, THEN ALL THE ELECTRICAL WENT OUT, NO POWER STEERING, BUT THE ENGINE WAS STILL GOING, ELECTRICAL CAME BACK ON AND THEN THE CAR DIED AS I WAS GOING ABOUT 20 MPH AND IT QUIT ALL TOGETHER ON ME SHUT DOWN. HAD TO PUSH IT TO A PARKING STALL AND CALL A TOW TO THE DEALER, ONCE AT THE DEALER THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER AND 3 ERRORS FOR FUEL SYSTEM AND 1 ERROR FOR TRANSMISSION CAME UP. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE RPM IDLES HIGH BUT THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS ENGAGED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BRAKES MADE A GRINDING NOISE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000.

I WAS GIVEN THIS CAR AS A RENTAL. I AM AN EXTREMELY SAFE DRIVER WITH A PERFECT DRIVING RECORD. WITHIN 7-8 MINUTES OF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE THERE WAS A CRASH! I DROVE IN ON THE SAME BUSY STREET THAT THE RENTAL CAR WAS LOCATED AND FROM THE STOP LIGHT THE CAR SWITCHED INTO GEAR AUTOMATICALLY AND THE BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK. THIS CAUSE CAUSED ME TO HIT A CAR FROM BEHIND AND SINCE THE BRAKES WEREN'T WORKING I HYDROPLANED INTO THE BACK OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. ONLY ONE AIRBAG WAS DEPLOYED, THE ONE IN THE HORN..NOT ALL SIX. I SUFFERED A SEVERE CONCUSSION AND HAD TO BE HOSPITALIZED OVERNIGHT. LUCKILY, THE PEOPLE IN THE OTHER VEHICLES WERE FINE. I AM NOW UNDER THE CARE OF A NEUROLOGIST WHO IS DOING TESTS TO HELP DETERMINE WHY I GET FREQUENT MIGRAINES AND MY SHORT TERM MEMORY IS VERY LIMITED AS WELL AS MY BALANCE. THE SIDE PANELS ON BOTH FRONT DOORS OF OUR FOUR DOOR SEDAN DO NOT ILLUMINATE, SO AT NIGHT WE CANNOT LOCATE THE UNLOCK/LOCK TABS (OR THE POWER WINDOW TABS). BECAUSE OF THIS OF LACK OF ILLUMINATION, WHENEVER IT IS DARK WE ARE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE UNLOCK TABS, THUS INHIBITING OUR ABILITY TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE IN THE CASE OF EMERGENCY, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT FROM THE VEHICLE QUICKLY AND SAFELY. (PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SIDE PANELS DO LIGHT ON OUR OTHER 2012 VERSA, WHICH IS A HATCHBACK.) I HAVE WRITTEN THREE LETTERS AND SPOKEN TO FOUR NISSAN CUSTOMER RELATIONS REPRESENTATIVES---AND EACH SAYS THAT NISSAN WILL NOT RETRO-FIT THE DOOR PANELS AND THAT WE HAVE TO FIND A SOLUTION TO THIS CONCERN ON OUR OWN. BECAUSE ALL THE DOORS LOCK AUTOMATICALLY ONCE THE CAR IS DRIVEN, I BELIEVE THAT THE UNLOCK/LOCK TABS NEED TO BE ILLUMINATED THAT DRIVER AND PASSENGER CAN QUICKLY SEE THE UNLOCK TABS SO WE CAN GET OUT OF THE CAR. 2012 NISSAN VERSA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO SEVERAL ISSUES WITH VEHICLE AND QUALITY *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEFROSTER WAS A MAJOR CONCERN. IN ORDER TO TURN ON THE DEFROSTER, HE MUST TURN THE KNOB TO DEFROST, BUT ALSO SLIDE THE HORIZONTAL SWITCH UNDERNEATH THE DASH TO DEFROST AS WELL. THEN, HE HAD TO TURN THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE VENTS TOWARD THE GLASS, ALL WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. THE DEFROSTER WORKED FAIR AT BEST. IT ONLY ELIMINATED ABOUT HALF THE FOG ON THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AND NONE ON THE REAR WINDSHIELD AND SIDE WINDOWS. HALF THE TIME, WHEN THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE, THE KEY DID NOT WANT TO COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. HE WOULD HAVE TO JIGGLE THE KEY AND THE SHIFT KNOB TO GET THE KEY OUT. THE AUTO DOOR LOCKS DID NOT UNLOCK WHEN HE PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TURNED OFF IN ORDER FOR THE AUTO DOORS TO UNLOCK. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD EMIT A LOUD BANG, WHEN THE CONSUMER PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE. *JB

THE BRAKES DO NOT BRAKE CONSISTENTLY ALL THE TIME. ON THE EXACT SAME ROADS, WITH THE SAME WEATHER CONDITIONS, AND AT APPROXIMATELY THE SAME SPEEDS; WHEN PUSHING THE BRAKES WITH THE USUAL AMOUNT OF PRESSURE REQUIRED TO STOP BY A CERTAIN DISTANCE, THE BRAKES WILL SOMETIMES NOT FUNCTION AS USUAL REQUIRING YOU TO BRAKE HARD IN ORDER TO STOP IN TIME. THIS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY EVERY TWO WEEKS OR SO. DRIVING CONDITIONS WERE DRY AND THREADWEAR AND TIRE PRESSURE WERE BOTH FINE. WOULD DRIVE 60 MILES PER DAY, FIVE DAYS A WEEK.

THE NISSAN DEALERS SAY THAT THE CHANGE OF SPEED IN THIS CAR CANNOT BE FELT, AND SO DOES THE TV COMMERCIAL. IT ISN'T TRUE. IT IS A DANGER IN THE STREETS. EVERYTIME I GO TO THE EXPRESSWAY I HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE ISN'T A CAR ANY CLOSE TO BE ABLE TO ENTER BECAUSE WHEN YOU TRY TO SPEED A BIT, IT RESTRAIN ITSELF AND I ALREADY GOT SCARED WITH THIS EXPERIENCE. EVEN WHEN YOU ARE IN THE CITY AND YOU TRY TO SPEED A BIT TO CHANGE LANE, YOU CAN FEEL THAT IN MOST OF THE CASES IT WON'T LET YOU DO IT INMEDIATELY. I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS CAR HAVE BEEN APPROVED WITH 5 STARS BY THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT AS THE DEALERS SAY. BESIDES, THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT WON'T GO ALL THE WAY, AND YOU CAN SEE THAT AFTER FEW BLOCKS DRIVING, IT LOOSE A BIT MORE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER, BUT I CANNOT PUT THIS DANGER IN HER HANDS. I HOPE I GET ADVISORS THAT HELP ME TO GET MY MONEY BACK OR TO BE ABLE TO CHANGE THIS CAR AND NOT LOOSING 5000 AS THE NISSAN PROPOSED ME. UNFORTUNATELY I CANNOT AFFORD IT ANYMORE. *TR
