Car unstable while driving all of a sudden will not shift into 2cd gear will not go over 20mph car is 2013 but only has 32,000 miles. Dealer said no recalls warranty only 5 years or 100,000 miles, it is past that period. Online suggest multiple complaints from consumers with cvt transmission, clasa acyion suits etc.thwy want 5550.00 to replace transmission.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while accelerating from a stop, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart on the third attempt; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission (CVT) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. The VIN was not available.

I feel something is wrong when I step on the accelerator and the rpm scale shakes while driving. When I stop and go while waiting for the signal, the rpm does not increase and speed does not increase even though I step on the accelerator to the end. When I visit mechanics, they told me it is a transmission problem.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, the check engine warning light was no longer illuminated. The mechanic performed an oil change. Several weeks later, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power while driving. The contact coasted to the side of the roadway to shut off and restart the vehicle before driving to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the CVT needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the warranty had expired. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.

For ten days my car suddenly loses 90% or more braking power—after moving at above 40 miles per hour for five minutes or more. Incredibly dangerous and no war I g lights and hard to diagnose. We are replacing master cylinder as they were investigated on this year and model. I want them to reopen that investigation and I want compensation.

BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR OCCASIONALLY WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES TO COME TO A STOP. HAD NISSAN PERFORM A BRAKE SYSTEM FLUSH AND STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. THEY ASKED ABOUT CHANGING OUT THE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE WAY THAT THEY ASKED MADE ME BELIEVE THAT THEY MIGHT KNOW OF A PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR AND MAKE OF CAR. I CHECKED UP TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL AND NOTICED AN INVESTIGATION IS IN PROGRESS FOR THIS PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS IN STREET TRAFFIC OR HIGHWAY WHEN TRYING TO SLOW OR STOP THE VEHICLE AND IS INTERMITTENT IN NATURE AND STILL OCCURS AFTER THE BRAKE FLUSH TO REMOVE ANY AIR IN THE SYSTEM.

I WAS GOING 35 MPH AND I TRIED TO SLOW DOWN AS I NOTICED THE CARS INFRONT OF ME WERE AT A COMPLETE STOP AT A RED LIGHT, I PRESSED MY BREAKS AND NOTICED I BARELY EVEN SLOWED DOWN AS I GOT CLOSER TO THE CAR AHEAD OF ME I PUT MY EMERGENCY BREAK ON AND IT MADE MY CAR SLIDE FORWARD FORCING MY CAR INTO THE REAR END OF THE CAR AHEAD OF MINE. The driver side door is stuck in the closed position and will not open. The only way for the driver to get out of the car is to move to the passenger seat and open the passenger side door. To get inside and drive the car, the driver needs to open the passenger side door and move to the driver seat. The condition creates a very dangerous situation for the driver and passengers. The design of the door mechanisms should fail on the OPEN POSITION for safety! I have owned many cars and this is the first time I experienced this dangerous condition. Today, 1/7/2025, I went to the Nissan dealership to repair the door defect. The replacement parts are not available and will be ordered. The repair cost of the Work Order is $825.61. I believe this defect should be recalled to protect other drivers and avoid dangerous situations. .The automatic transmission sensor. When u turn on the right blinker the car starts stalling acting like it's going to die. And it's not right turns it's the actual right blinker. And yes can be inspected. . You need ur signals to communicate with other drivers. So right blinker is very important, not only that the car jerking around in traffic like that is dangerous. . The car was inspected by a mechanic.. .I just bought the car and I noticed it about a month after I bought the car from private owner.

the heat shield fell off my 2013 versa. i understandthis is common versa cars. that shows manufacturing quality control issues that harm the engine. please make sure you report that the heat shield fell off the bottom of my car. it was not secrured properly. the ar only has 57,000 miles on it. in addition the headlights do not work. there must an electrical short that always causes the highbeams to fail.

SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING THE CAR JUST SHUTS OFF. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT ANY WARNING. FIRST TIME WAS TURNING LEFT AT A LIGHT, TOOK OFF AND MIDWAY THROUGH THE TURN CAR SHUT OFF AND LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO A BUS STOP AND NOT GET REAR-ENDED. NOW HAS STOPPED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET ROUGHLY 40 MILES PER HOUR ON THE STREET. CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AND COMES TO A CRAWL, ALMOST GOT REAR-ENDED BUT CAR BEHIND STOPPED IN TIME. STARTED CAR BACK UP AND IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN, THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER IT TURNED OFF AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle hesitated before the loss of motive power. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the #3 cylinder misfired. The coils and spark plugs were replaced however, the failure recurred. Additionally, it was determined that the PCM was faulty and needed to be replaced or reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer and the local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.

YESTERDAY I HAD DROPPED OFF MY CAR AT UNIVERSAL CITY NISSAN FOR THE CVT RECALL REPAIR. WHEN I LEFT AND PROCEEDED TO GET ON THE 101 FREEWAY MY CAR LOST POWER AND WENT FROM 60 MPH TO ABOUT 10 MPH IN FRONT OF A BIG RIG ON THE FREEWAY. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO GET OFF OF THE FREEWAY AT 5MPH AND WENT BACK TO THE DEALER TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED. THEY PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY 4000.00 DOLLARS AS THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AS THEY SAID I COULD DRIVE ANOTHER 50 MILES. I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY AND WANTED TO DOUBLE CHECK WITH MY MECHANIC. I LEFT AND THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED ON A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION ON THE CORNER OF LA BREA AND FOUNTAIN BLVD. I HAD TO KEEP TURNING IT OFF AND RESTARTING IT TO GET IT INTO THE PARKING LOT OF AN URGENT CARE UNTIL I CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO. THE DEALERSHIP IN NO WAY WANTED TO HELP AND SAID MY WARRANTY WAS UP IN FEBRUARY EVEN THOUGH IT ONLY HAS 50,000 MILES ON IT.

CAR SHAKES WHEN ACCELERATING ABOVE 40MPH. ENGINE SOUNDS ROUGH. HAS STALLED A COUPLE OF TIMES WHEN PARKING. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN TO HAVE 2 RECALLS FIXED. A CENTER CONSOLE MOULDING TRIM AND A CVT SOFTWARE UPGRADE. I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD CHECK IT OUT. I WAS TOLD BY THE 1ST DEALERSHIP THAT THERE WERE NO APPARENT PROBLEMS WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE IMMEDIATELY. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP BACK AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR WAS NOT INSPECTED AND THAT THERE WOULD BE A $200 INSPECTION FEE. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. THE CAR IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND OF COURSE THE WARRANTY JUST ENDED IN FEBRUARY 2018. I TOOK THE CAR TO A 2ND DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAILING AND GIVEN AN ESTIMATED PRICE OF A REBUILD AND A NEW TRANSMISSION. CONSUMER AFFAIRS TOLD ME THAT THE CAR NEEDS FURTHER INSPECTION TO DETERMINE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THEY WILL NOT TELL ME IF THEY PLAN ON COVERING THE COST OF THIS INSPECTION. I THOUGH THE CAR WAS ALREADY INSPECTED A COUPLE OF TIMES. I'M GETTING INCONSISTENT CONFLICTING INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT I'M TOLD WAS DONE TO THE CAR AND WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. MEANWHILE THE CAR IS GETTING WORSE AND I STILL HAVE 3 YEARS LEFT ON THE AUTO LOAN. I'VE READ ON SEVERAL WEBSITES THAT OTHER NISSAN VERSA OWNERS ARE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS. I PURCHASED A USED CAR FROM MR. BILL MOTOR CO IN ARLINGTON, TX ON PIONEER PARKWAY. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO OVERHEAT. I CALLED TO INFORM MR. BILL MOTORS AND I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD SEND IT OUT TO BE LOOKED AT AND LET ME KNOW WHEN IT WAS READY FOR PICK UP. IT WAS TAKEN TO DG'S PERFORMANCE ON PIONEER PARKWAY FOR REPAIRS. ABOUT A WEEK LATER THE CAR RESUMED OVERHEATING, I CONTACTED MR. BILL MOTORS AGAIN AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEND THE VEHICLE OUT FOR REPAIR. THEY SENT IT TO LONGHORN TRANSMISSIONS. AS MY DAUGHTER WAS HEADED TO SCHOOL AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED ON I-20 IN ARLINGTON, TX THE CAR STARTS TO OVERHEAT AND STOPS ON HER, SHE COULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR. SHE CALLS LONGHORN AND THEY SEND A TOW TO GET HER. SHE WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT PLACE THE CAP ON THE TRANSMISSION WHEN THEY ADDED FLUID TO IT SO THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. TWO DAYS LATER THE CAR IS HEATING AGAIN. I CONTACT MR. BILL MOTORS AGAIN IN PERSON SO THEY COULD SEE AND WITH A VIDEO OF WHAT THE CAR HAD BEEN DOING, THEY TELL ME THEY WILL WORK ON IT THE NEXT DAY. I COULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR FROM THE LOT, THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND I ROLLED INTO THE STREET. TWO SALES MEN HAD TO PUSH THE CAR UNTO THE PROPERTY FROM THE STREET. TWO DAYS GO BY AND I AM TOLD THAT IT IS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE THAT WILL COST ME $1500 AND TAKE A WEEK TO REPAIR FROM SCOTT AND HE STATES THAT MATT ANOTHER MANAGER IS PRESENT WITH HIM. I CALLED TO DISCUSS STATUS UPDATE, MISSING ITEMS FROM THE CAR TO FIND OUT THEY WERE CHARGING ME $235 FOR THE TOW THAT LONGHORN TRANSMISSION BILLED THEM. I EXPLAINED THAT I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS CHARGE, NOR DO I FEEL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHARGE. THEY DID NOT PUT THE CAP ON THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHARGE AND THAT YOU DO NOT CHARGE ANYONE WITHOUT DISCUSSING THE AMOUNT WITH THE PERSON. I ASKED FOR THE TOTAL COST OF THE REPAIR AND I STATED I WANTED TO SPEAK TO THE REPAIR PLACE. I WAS GIVEN A NUMBER FOR JEFF.

The contact also stated that the vehicle was hesitant to accelerate when driving at various speeds which caused the vehicle to jerk. The brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a passenger-side lower control arm bushing being separated from the control arm. WHILE TRY TO SLOW DOWN AND TAKE MY FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR TO APPLY THE BRAKE MY SHOW GETS CAUGHT ON THE TRIM PIECE NEXT TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. i am getting water in my right tail light bulb so that it is out. i have only 57,000 miles on my car. it is 7 years old. this has no damage to the right tail light. it was just manufactured so it is a damage problem. nobody hit the car there in that area oranything. it just developed to have water in teh light bulb. nissan versa is not a well designed or manufactured car. it falls apart on the buyer. i bought this car new and hardly used it for 7 years. i had another car and used that more. it sat in my driveway falling apart.

I AM WRITING TO SHARE WITH YOU A SAFETY CONCERN I HAVE WITH MY 2013 NISSAN VERSA. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY VEHICLE EXCEPT FOR ONE THING. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAVE ONE POINT OF ENTRY, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE MODEL THAT I HAVE IS THE BASIC MODEL WHERE KEYLESS ENTRY WAS NOT INCLUDE, WHICH IS FINE WITH ME. BUT WHEN I RECEIVED THE VEHICLE, I WENT TO LET MY WIFE IN AND FOUND THAT THERE WASN'T A KEY HOLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE ONLY WAY TO GET INTO THE VEHICLE WAS THROUGH THE DRIVER SIDE WITH A KEY. I WAS CONTENT WITH THAT, SEEING THAT I DID PURCHASE THE BASIC MODEL BUT THEN IT OCCURRED TO ME ONE DAY WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT TO FIND A PARKING SPACE. WHAT IF ANOTHER CAR PARKED VERY CLOSE TO ME ON THE DRIVER SIDE, SO CLOSE WHERE I CAN'T EVEN OPEN THE DOOR. HOW WILL I BE ABLE TO GET IN? My Transmission was replaced in 2016 at 60K miles. 3 years after the car was bought brand new. As of today the car has 114K miles. September 9, 2022 my transmission completely shut down on me. Also the check engine like came on. I have had the car only a year and the problem just came about. Im worried and concerned that the transmission should have not got out this quick for me. And also concerned as to why the original owner had the same transmission problem as me and had to replace after 3 years! I got in my car Sep 9 , 2022 and drove about 20 minutes and the car started jerking forward and the RPMs were going crazy moving so fast. I turned around to head back home, i got on the bridge and was driving about 50/55mph. The car started decreasing in speed all the way to 0. Turned the car off and tried to continue to make my way back home. I had to take back streets home and every time I stopped at a red light or stop sign the car would take a second to drive off after. I brought the car to a mechanic who told me my transmission went out. Since the car transmission was last replaced only 54,000 miles have been put on the car. The fuel for the transmission was dark.

AFTER INSPECTION THEY GAVE ME THE SUCH A SURPRISING CONCLUSION: PROBLEM WITH TAIL LIGHT CAUSED MIS-FUNCTIONING OF TRANSMISSION. AND THE TAILLIGHT WAS FUNCTIONING WELL, NOT DAMAGED. Speed Control, Engine and Transmission issues: After the recall from the manufacture was issued for the the acceleration problems this car still takes long to accelerate and get the car going. ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO OR SO, THE CAR WOULD JERK WHEN TAKING OFF AT 20MPH AND THE RPM NEEDLE WOULD GO UP AND DOWN AS I ACCELERATE TO GO FASTER, I'VE TAKEN THIS CAR FOR OIL CHANGES AND KEPT UP WITH THE RECOMMENDED SERVICES. I WAS IN FULL STOPPED MOTION AT A TURNING RED LIGHT AND AN UNKNOWN PERSON HAD REAR ENDED MY CAR, SHORTLY AFTER I HAD NOTICED THE PASSENGER SEATBELT LIGHT HAD STARTED FLASHING. I AM IN FEAR THAT THE AIRBAG LIGHT MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT HAVE TO DO WITH THE HIT AND RUN, BUT IT JUST STARTED A FEW WEEKS AGO WHILE THE ACCIDENT WAS OVER 2 YEARS AGO. The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle started shuddering and the transmission slipped out of gear. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the residence where an independent mechanic diagnosed that the turbine input sensor circuit B, pressure control solenoids including solenoid B had failed. The output, input, transmission, and primary speed sensors were replaced. Additionally, the CVT transmission fluid was flushed and refilled; however, the failure persisted. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to bring the vehicle to their location for diagnostic test. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.

the undercarriage of my car seems to be falling into pieces. the car has only 57,000 miles on it. it has sat in my driveway for 7 years because i had another nissan, my sentra, which i had for l5 years and it never had undercarriage issues. and i never had all these issues with my sentra that i am having with this versa now that i am free to drive it since i got rid of my sentra after l5 years. the dealer says power control arms pressure forceing grees to be released. and heat shield, repair heat shield ripped off bolts and causing rattling under vehicle. i just paid a $600 bill to that same dealer for that same areas of work not that long ago. why is my nissan falling apart. i had a sentra i had for l5 years and never had trouble with the undercarriage like this. i cant afford these big repair bills. the milage is very low for all these things to go wrong when i never had them go wrong on the sentra for l5 years. did ghosn steal money from versa?

my air conditioning is not working. i believe wires in my care are covered with soy which is an attractant to mice and rats and causes them to climb into my car and eat the wires, causing the car to malfunction. we need to outlaw and ban the use of soy feedstuffs on car wires, this is just ridiculous for allowing this to happen, to make cars a magnet for mice and rats.

ALSO, THE PLASTIC, POORLY MADE, AIR INTAKE AT AND NEAR AIR BREATHER VIBRATE AND CLATTER TERRIBLY! THIS CAR HAS MORE UNDERCARRIAGE AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT NOISE THAN ANY VEHICLE I'VE OWNED. I MIGHT ALSO ADD THE ENGINE HAS VALVE TICK, WHICH DOES NOT SEEM TO SHOW IT'S UGLY HEAD WHEN AT THE DEALERSHIP.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE IDLING, THE VEHICLE FELT AS IF IT WOULD STALL AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO SAFE MODE AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED WITH A NEW TRANSMISSION, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

THIS IS AN EVENT SIMILAR TO ODI RESUME (PE 14-018) OPENED ON 06/24/2014 BY THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION. SIMILAR TO COMPLAINANT, VOQ 10597004, MY FOOT WAS TRAPPED BY THE TRIM PANEL. PANEL IS LOCATED NEXT TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE LOWER CORNER IS POSITIONED SUCH THAT IT IS NEAR THE RIGHT OUTER EDGE OF THE DRIVER'S SHOE. ALSO SIMILAR TO COMPLAINANT 10573057, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO APPLY THE BRAKE, MY SHOE WAS CAUGHT BY THE TRIM PANEL WHICH DELAYED BRAKING ABILITY SEVERAL TIMES. 1. FROM THE BEGINNING, WIND NOISE WAS NOTICEABLE. MANAGEMENT FROM DEALERSHIP CHECKED VEHICLE AND SAID NOISE WAS FROM DESIGN OF SIDE MIRRORS. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY SAID THERE WERE NO BULLETINS AT TIME AND UNTIL THERE WERE THEY COULD DO NOTHING. 2. WINDSHIELD HAS WAVINESS ACROSS ENTIRE LOWER SECTION OF GLASS. I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT IN THE LEFT TURN LANE AND WAS CHANGING RADIO STATIONS. I LOOKED UP AND NOTICED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WAS ALREADY GOING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, SO I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL AND ACCELERATED QUICKLY. AS I APPROACHED THE INTERSECTION (STOP LINE) I ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL, BUT COULD NOT, BECAUSE MY FOOT WAS STUCK. I USED MY RIGHT HAND TO GRAB MY LEG, AND PULLED HARDER, IMMEDIATELY BRAKING HARD, THEN BACKING MY FOOT OF THE BRAKE AS I SQUEALED AND SKIDDED AROUND THE CORNER, ALMOST GOING OVER THE CURB AND CRASHING. AFTER PARKING THE CAR IN A SAFE SPOT, I INSPECTED THE GAS PEDAL AREA TO DETERMINE WHAT HAPPENED. THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT COVERS THE CENTER CONSOLE EXTENDS AROUND TO JUST NEXT TO THE GAS PEDAL. IT ATTACHED WITH A PLASTIC PRESS FIT LOCK SEVERAL INCHES FROM THE EDGE, LEAVING THE EDGE UNSECURED. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW NISSAN VERSA SV ON MAY 11, 2013. ON DECEMBER 1, 2013 I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I COULD FEEL MY STEERING WHEEL PULL TO THE LEFT. THEN THE ENTIRE CAR STARTED SHAKING VIGOROUSLY. MY BACK LEFT TIRE HAD BLOWN OUT. MY CAR ONLY HAD 6,200 MILES ON IT, MY TIRES ARE SUPPOSE TO BE GOOD FOR 60,000 MILES. I TOOK THE NEAREST EXIT AND PARKED IN AN APARTMENT COMPLEX. THANKFULLY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE CAME VERY QUICKLY. THE PERSON WHO ASSISTED ME WAS SHOCKED THAT I WASN'T IN AN ACCIDENT AND NO DAMAGE OCCURRED. WHEN HE TOOK THE TIRE OFF, WE LOOKED FOR DAMAGE TO THE TREAD, A NAIL OR SOMETHING THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE BLOWOUT. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE TREAD.
