My base level 2024 Subaru Impreza , while driving, has a vibration and shake in the drivers side rearview mirror at speeds over 25 mph, making it difficult to see clearly behind my vehicle. Vibration was present as a new vehicle and have reported issue to service advisor at Sport Subaru of Orlando Florida as a new vehicle owner.
Apr 17, 2026
Since new, the image/reflection of the driver side rear view mirror shakes and unsteady at speed. The passenger side rear view mirror is rock steady and stable with a clear image/reflection. This creates a safety issue because the image I see in the mirror is distorted. This is an ongoing issue. It always happens during every drive.

Driver side auto dimming with approach light mirror vibration on highway making road, cars and headlights jump around and causing driver distraction. Notified dealership who told me to contact Subaru of America. Due to safety I went to a dealership and had side mirrors switched to non dimming which lessened vibration.

Driver side mirror shaking, blurry, vibrating on new 2024 Impreza. Makes one motion sick due to vibration while driving. The driver side mirror is shaking/vibrating and blurring out license plates, took it to dealer and while they do notice some shaking while increasing speed they don’t see any reason to fix it even though it mashes driving rather unsafe on highway. It is a little blurry/shakes around 20 mph and gets worse as speed goes up. When I hit 40-60 mph, it is constantly blurred or shaking.

Part 1 Today is January, 28, 2026 How it all started. My appointment was Tuesday, June 10th, 2025 at 10:15 am. During my last oil change, I was informed by Chris that an alignment would be needed to correct the rear passenger wheel showing -2.4 camber. I asked Chris could I go ahead and schedule the service repair now. Chris replied, you will have to schedule the appointment after you leave. Isn’t it strange that I’m already at the dealership and being told a repair is needed, but I can’t schedule the appointment while I’m there, I have to leave to schedule an appointment. So I brought the vehicle back in for the service at a later date, and the wheel in question was not even corrected. When I mentioned this to the lady handling the paperwork, she went and asked someone about it. She came back and pointed to a front wheel that was never in question or out of tolerance and said see they did fix something. My other concern is the fact that when I got a text at 11:23 am like my vehicle was finished, and I saw it in the finished area, I sat a little longer before I went to see if it was ready. When I asked the young lady that checked me in about my car being ready, she said, I was getting your paperwork ready, you just kinda came over here. Well I got a text saying thank you, and my car was parked in the finished area. Then she asks me to sign paperwork that had my name on it, but had a completely different service done, and it was for a Subaru Accent, my car is an Impreza. When I asked about that, she said don’t worry I’m going to reprint everything out, but she was still trying to get me to sign incorrect paperwork. She never reprinted the paperwork, and she just came back and said I just need a signature to release your vehicle back to you. So you want me to sign paperwork that releases a vehicle back to me that doesn’t even have my vehicle on it. The vehicle is out of camber tolerance, which requires an alignment and maybe parts.

SUBARU STRUT ISSUE PART 2 Today is January, 28, 2026 To Whom this may concern, and all parties involved at Peltier Subaru, location 3200 S Southwest Loop 323, Tyler, TX 75701 I regret to inform you that you failed to address my many concerns regarding my vehicle. This caused me to be out of pocket on multiple occasions, with regards to my safety, and my family’s safety when in the vehicle with me. I even drove up there regarding a premature worn tire, to show you the tire and a receipt. I asked about being reimbursed for the tire, and was told I would be reimbursed as soon as finance or human resources was in you guys would take care of it. You haven’t taken care of it, and for that, you now owe more than just one tire. Also, because you never fixed the initial problem, and we agreed that if you fixed the problem I would rescind my negative review. So now my initial review will stand for good, along with all this new information. On Saturday November 22nd, 2025 I had a flat on the way home, but was not far from my house. I was able to use my portable air compressor to put air in the tire, but had to repeat this process about 5 times before making it home because the air was escaping so fast. It also rained that weekend so I didn’t even take the tire until that Tuesday the 25th of November 2025. After taking the tire off and inspecting everything, the evidence was clear that this was caused by the car being out of tolerance and being overlooked by the service department on multiple occasions, even after bringing it to their attention with their own documentation of it. The tire shop in Tatum did not have the tire size I needed, so I drove to henderson and got one for $100 from M AND R ECONOMY TIRES LLC, located at 1000 US HIGHWAY 79 N, HENDERSON, TX 75652, PHONE: [XXX] . Part 3 SUBARU STRUT ISSUE I called the service department at Peltier Subaru and told them what happened and that I should be reimbursed for the tire. I was told that I needed to bring the tire in so that it could be inspected, along with the car to make there wasn’t something else going on. I talked with the service manager and he talked with his manager, who okayed a reimbursement verbally to me which was witnessed by the service manager. They said a check would be mailed from the finance department, which never happened. Supposedly they inspected the vehicle while I was in the lobby, and they found nothing, nothing at all. Basically this was another waste of time and money on my part. I live an hour away, they don’t give you a gas card, or even wash your car, just you have a good day sir, that they really don’t mean. Next I’m due for an oil change, which I scheduled over the phone and I mentioned noise coming from the same area that was fixed, or they never found anything wrong with. I took everything out of my car to pinpoint the noise and make sure it wasn’t a tool or something else moving around in the car. On Friday, December 12th, 2025 I go in for the oil change and for diagnosis of the noise coming from the same area that they strut was already replaced. Turns out it’s the strut again, and they have to order the part, and I’m told my car is fine to drive home till the part comes in and that I don’t need a loner. Now I have to come back on Thursday, December 18th, 2025 to get the strut replaced again.
Jan 28, 2026
PART 4 SUBARU STRUT ISSUE How come no one can tell me what’s actually wrong. Was this a faulty part or was it not installed correctly, who knows, no one can tell me. The strut was loose and I could hear it rattling or jolting on many occasions before I knew that’s what it was. Was it not torqued to specs, installed in hurry, or defective part. They had my car for atleast a week the first time, so why not take the time to fix it right. The fact remains though, the problem was never initially fixed. You again let me drive an unsafe vehicle which caused premature wear on the tire, and god knows what else. On multiple occasions of inspections you said you found nothing or the vehicle was fine, when it wasn’t. This has created anxiety for me when driving my car, and visiting your facility. I don’t feel comfortable or trust this dealership, service department, or any staff there. I can feel the awkwardness with every visit and the bias that has now been created, but I did not create it, all I did was document and report my experience. Let my complaint serve as record and as a reference for any future complaints, investigations, or similar concerns that others may report.

Yokohama Avid (front x2) 4UT76EX1623 and (rear x2) 4UT7EX1723 225/40R18 while the Passenger Front (4UT76EX1623) tire completely blew out the sidewall after third party inspection all 4 tires on my New 2024 Subaru Impreza are failing per the tire technician "after inspection it appears that all four tires show significant premature tire wear on the vehicle". Alignment preformed April 10, 2025 by DCH Subaru of Riverside and again alignment and suspension were checked the day after blowout of tire on July 28,2025 by American Tire Depot " no issue found with the vehicles suspension and alignment is within specs at this time". I was driving on a mountain road approximately 25 MPH when blowout occurred. Significant POP sound heard and vehicle TPS system immediately alerted us that the tire pressure dropped to 0. Tires had been maintaining tire pressure well before the incident. The "significant premature tire wear" is indicated by a noticeable crack that appears around the sidewall of all four tires as well as the steel cord showing significantly along the inner wall of the tire that blew out. This was only visible after removing the flat tire to apply the spare.

Front driver side tire sidewall bubbled at 7900 miles on a 2024 Subaru Impreza on June 22nd. They are the original equipment tires: Yokohama Advan S34P P225/40R18 88V. A sidewall bubble is a sign of a structural failure and indicates the tire will eventually blow out. This can lead to loss of control as well as sending debris towards other road users. No warnings or tire pressure changes occurred. There was no impact, only normal highway driving prior to the damage. The damage was not present prior to 300 mile road trip, but was present upon arrival at our destination. The problem was immediately reported to Capitaland Subaru who the vehicle is leased from. Initially they refused to let me bring it in. Eventually they did get me an appointment for June 30th, and they allegedly inspected the tire at that time. They told me to keep driving on it until the warranty replacement was approved. A warranty case was never opened by the dealer. 17 days later, I received a call from the dealer saying I must open the case with Yokohama myself. The vehicle comes with a sealed kit of owner's documents and booklets including tire warranty information, but it contains Goodyear and Bridgestone warranty info and not Yokohama, which is the OEM tire on Subaru Imprezas. I had no info on my warranty nor a guide on how to submit such a claim. After searching online, I did so and gave the case number to the dealer, but I have not gotten any notification since. It has been well over a month and I've logged over 1300 miles on the damaged tire. The car now has significant vibration coming through the steering wheel as of 7/30/25. Dealer was supposed to provide a loaner but did not. The manager has made no attempt to address the issue. A complaint has been filed with Subaru corporate as well.

Driver Side Mirror vibrates very badly at speeds of about 50mph and up making it difficult to see what is in the mirror. This was dangerous. I pulled off the mirror and glued foam behind it and it now vibrates less and I can see out of the mirror better but it still vibrates and distorts the mirror's image.

My vehicle’s windshield developed an approximately 4-inch crack starting at the base of the glass without any impact point. There is no visible sign of damage or debris strike anywhere near the crack. The crack appeared suddenly and has since extended across the entire height of the windshield. Because the crack originated without any impact, it appears to be a defect in the windshield itself.

I own a 2024 Subaru Impreza purchased new 7 months ago. While driving under normal conditions, a small rock entered through the factory grille and struck the air conditioning condenser. The condenser was punctured, causing refrigerant (likely R-1234yf) to escape directly into the atmosphere. This refrigerant is regulated under the U.S. EPA Clean Air Act, Section 608, due to its environmental impact and potential health risks when inhaled. The sudden, uncontrolled release of refrigerant from a poorly protected component may constitute a violation of federal environmental regulations regarding the proper containment and handling of refrigerants. This leak also poses a health and safety risk to occupants, as the refrigerant can enter the ventilation system and be inhaled by the driver and passengers, potentially causing dizziness or other symptoms. The repair facility quoted over $2,000 for replacement of a condenser that retails for approximately $300. Subaru refused warranty coverage, claiming “road debris” damage. However, the condenser’s exposed position directly behind an inadequately protected grille makes it highly vulnerable to impact from small rocks under normal driving conditions — a foreseeable and preventable hazard. This is not an isolated incident. Multiple Subaru owners have reported similar issues Subaru has previously acknowledged condenser vulnerabilities in other contexts, issuing Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs 15-222-18 and 15-223-18R) addressing condenser assembly issues and Service Program WRB-21 for condenser corrosion in 2017–2018 Foresters. These actions demonstrate that Subaru is aware of condenser weaknesses and has taken corrective measures in the past. Given the safety risks, potential EPA refrigerant handling violations, and recurring nature of this issue across multiple Subaru models and years, I request that NHTSA investigate the grille/condenser design in the 2024 Impreza constitutes a safety defect and regulation failure

I discovered a recall for my car, which makes it unsafe to drive without service and a remedy. Additionally, my car is under warranty. I contacted both the dealership I purchased the car from and the manufacturer for information and a solution. The manufacturer initially denied any recall, even though the recall is stated on the NHTSA website with my car’s VIN. They later stated that the dealership is responsible for remedying the recall. The dealership has told me they are unable to remedy the recall and to contact the manufacturer again. I have yet to receive any remedy or offer of solution from the dealership or the manufacturer.

SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Unnecessary braking in two instances. One happened when Subarus Eyesight system mis identified a road reflector. At least that is what I saw. It happened on a 40 mile an hour highway in a curve with moderate traffic. No one directly behind me. The car had a sudden deceleration and warning. The second time came when approaching freeway speeds on an on ramp. At heavy acceleration approaching 50 miles per hour the car violently slammed on the brakes. A shadow from a tall fir tree crossed the on ramp. Again no one was behind me. It can't be good for my new car.

The contact owns a 2024 Subaru Impreza. The contact stated while driving at approximately 50 MPH, while slowing for traffic ahead, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as needed. The contact pumped the brake pedal until the Forward Collision Avoidance system engaged and stopped the vehicle. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Avoidance warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent, but occurred at various speeds, but always occurred while slowing down with the brake pedal depressed. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

My entire dash went out. Nothing worked. This car has only 3500 miles on it. I got danger signs and it said to stop driving the car. Danger. I also got messages in my e-mail I think from Starlink to stop driving the car and bring it in to service. It was dangerous. Service had it for two weeks. They didn't know what to do. They asked if I did something with wires. I'm a [XXX] woman and4'10". What a question. Then some guy at Subaru said "they'll probably have to put a whole new dash in. Days later I called again.Another guy said they had to call all over America to try and find the part. No one to my knowledge has inspected this. I am working with Subaru Customer Care. I don't want this car. I do not feel safe in it.For something so new these emergency problems should not be happening. I want a cash back or give me another car. They had it for two weeks and gave me no explanation what happened. It is not a safe car. I hope Customer Care will help me. Someone has to. POWER TRAIN
1 complaint
I own a 2024 Subaru Impreza (base trim, FB24 engine). The engine has developed repeated oil leaks into the spark plug wells due to failed spark plug tube seals / valve cover sealing on the same engine. The first occurrence was around 24,000 miles. The dealer found engine oil in the spark plug tubes, diagnosed leaking spark plug tube seals (and/or valve cover gasket), and performed repairs under warranty. At that time, the car was relatively new and maintained on schedule. The second occurrence happened again around 30,000 miles. The dealer again found oil in the spark plug tubes, indicating repeat failure of the same type of seals on this low‑mileage engine. This has already happened twice within approximately 6,000 miles on a 2024 vehicle. Oil in the spark plug tubes can cause misfires, rough running, and potential damage to ignition coils and the catalytic converter. It also raises concerns about stalling or loss of power if the misfires worsen while driving. I am concerned that this may be a systemic defect in the FB‑series engines used in late‑model Subaru vehicles, not normal wear. I am requesting that NHTSA track this issue as a potential safety‑related defect involving engine sealing components (spark plug tube seals / valve cover gaskets) that allow engine oil to leak into the spark plug wells on 2024 Subaru Impreza models at low mileage.

On 12/12/2025, Subaru Orange Coast (Santa Ana, CA) service advisor stated via text: "Breaks feel fine, no issues there," "Tires no issues there," "Struts no leaks or issues," and "Car is ready for pick up." On 12/16/2025, Service Director confirmed: brake rotor defects, weak struts causing tire wear, and replaced both rear struts, tires, and "the other 2" components under warranty/customer satisfaction. CRITICAL SAFETY CONCERN: During a prior service visit, dealership performed tire rotation moving a compromised tire from rear axle to FRONT STEERING AXLE — where failure would cause loss of steering control. On 12/12/2025, technicians REFUSED to rotate tires because "wire was showing" — confirming visual identification of exposed steel cord as safety hazard. Dealership then attempted to SELL me replacement tires (profiting from condition their service created). Despite actual knowledge of exposed steel cord on steering-axle tire, service advisor texted "no issues" and attempted to release vehicle for highway operation. SEQUENCE OF DEALER CONDUCT: Rotated compromised tire to front steering axle (prior visit) Identified exposed steel cord on 12/12/2025 Refused rotation due to safety hazard Attempted to sell replacement tires Represented "no issues" via text Attempted release for public road operation DOCUMENTATION: Demand letter delivered to Subaru of America (tracking: [XXX] , received 12/16/2025). I get ads for Sirius XM that occupy navigation while the vehicle is moving. The ad does not go away on its own, i have to manually dismiss the ad. I've owned the car for one year and i've gotten about 5 of these ads for SiriusXM. I even made a Sirius account and opted out of all in-vehicle messaging and continue to get the ad. It is always while im driving. Nobody can make it stop. I never used Sirius, never signed up for their service. It came with the car and the trial lapsed.

Car braked suddenly and violently while driving slowly (5-10 MPH) in traffic. Foot was on the gas pressing lightly - not on the brake. Braking occurred independently with such force that I thought I had been hit by another vehicle going 30-40 MPH. Hyman Bros. Subaru has not yet returned my calls regarding this incident.

I have not had an accident yet. I bought this vehicle in May and recently drove it at night. This vehicle is a nighmare!!!! The LED steering responsive headlights are absolutely horrible and you cannot drive this vehicle at night using the low beams. If you are on a completely level road, you'll be ok. If you are on a road with at least a slight dip in the road, these headlights face downward in front of you about 30 yards out max. That means you cannot see anything beyond where the beam hits the road. You would have to drive with high beams on constantly and this is an absolute safety hazard to my family and other vehicles and pedestrians. This problem goes back to 2017 and has been recalled up to 2019. There is not a fix for it and why they still installed these lights till today is beyond comprehension. I literally purchased a vehicle that my wife or I cannot drive. All you have to do is google this problem and you'll read a vast amount of complaints from people who have these headlights. Why are you not doing anything to correct this? I ask that somebody help us!! I took my vehicle back to the dealer and all they did was adjust the headlights 6 inches which is comical. You can come and drive my car at night if you think I'm just blowing smoke. Please tell me what you are going to do and don't tell me I have to have an accident first before you will act on this.

The front passenger airbag sensor is faulty. My understanding is that the airbag is set up to be deployed when someone who is at least 65lbs sits on the front seat. I am 85lbs so the sensor should always detect me but it doesn't; it only does so about 10% of the time. Sometimes it turns on and then goes off. In contrast, I always trigger the sensor in my husband's 2023 Subaru Crosstrek.
