I received a recall notice stating that Genesis will "replace the low-pressure fuel pump assembly". I scheduled the appointment for the replacement, however, the dealer informed me that they would inspect the fuel pump part number and if the recall applied then they would order the part number and once they receive the part they will call me to schedule a time to make the repair. The recall notice said it applied to my vehicle and that the remedy was to replace the fuel pump so I don't understand why they told me that they had to inspect it first and then order the part before making the recall repair. This only increases the time that my unsafe vehicle is on the road. Of course their inspection indicated that the fuel pump needed to be replaced since I had received the recall notice saying just that.

While driving my vehicle on multiple circumstances, the vehicle began having acceleration issues. This has happened while merging onto the highways and making turns. When it does this, you literally have to pull off the road because you can’t merge onto the highway at 25 mph without causing an accident. When it starts having acceleration issues, it will lock my speed and shoot my rpm’s to levels where it shouldn’t be, usually between 3-4, sometimes 5-6 while locking my speed between 25-35. It will lock your speed for 10-15 seconds and then it eventually will come to. It does not emit any sensors on the dashboard when it does this. My dealership has had my vehicle before to diagnose this issue, but due to it happening intermittently, it is hard to replicate it because it does not happen every single day. Prior to my dealership picking up my car this last time, it happened 4 times in a week but has happened 3 times since I got it back after they could not replicate the issue.

On a few occasions when stopped. Upon acceleration this vehicle would sputter or stall. On Aug. 29, 2023, while driving on the interstate and attempting to pass on the left lane. My speed was around 70 MPH. This vehicle would not accelerate and stated to come to a complete stop. I was able to pull off the road and restart this vehicle. If I was in the middle lanes. This vehicle would have caused a bad accident. As I drove home this vehicle stalled twice. Attempting to accelerate at a light at an intersection. This vehicle stalled in the middle of the intersection. I again avoided an accident attempting to accelerate and restart the vehicle. I was able to drive this vehicle to the dealership, Aug. 30. Since the dealership would not return my calls. The manager informed me that it was the fuel pump. He also stated that he had other vehicle with this same problem. All the fuel pumps are on back order. Also, the recall several months ago for the seat belts. Those parts are also on back order. In my judgment this vehicle is unsafe to operate. Until this issue is investigated by the government and approved to be safe fot the road.

The fuel pump failed in the car, it is a known problem by the dealer and there were no warnings prior to failure. The dealer verifies it was the pump and it is currently on backorder. The car broke down in the middle of a major intersection in 100 degree weather with our 1 and 2 year old in the car. It is a major safety concern.

After getting routine maintenance done on 5/29/2023 at Courtesy Hyundai in Tampa, my vehicle stalled numerous times when running the A/C. The compressor kicks on, RPM drops and the car violently jerks before shutting off. The system will only restore if I turn the A/C off. So I assumed the issue was due to the A/C putting pressure on the vehicle. I took it back to the same dealership on 6/6/2023 and they performed a fuel sample and said there was bad gas (high water content) in the tank (even though I only use 93 octane gas from a premium gas station, Shell) and stated the fix action would be to drain the fuel and clean the injectors for $850. I declined because I didn't believe that was truly the problem and wanted a second opinion from a different Genesis dealership. About three weeks later, I was merging on the interstate going 65 miles per hour and the vehicle stalled, lost power and came to an immediate stop. Absolutely nothing worked!!! I almost got hit by multiple vehicles. I waited a few minutes before restarting and the vehicle drove like nothing was wrong. However, this problem continued several times as I was trying to get home. I did notice it was having difficulty accelerating after that. I would say this vehicle randomly stalled in moving traffic more than 10 times in a two month period. I was finally able to get a service appointment with Lakeland Genesis on August 4th. After about a week, I was notified the fuel pump is indeed bad and needs to be replaced, which is what I thought initially. The vehicle has not been repaired yet because the part is on backorder with no ETA. So I'm unsure if replacing the fuel pump is the final fix. We are part of an online GV70 forum and it seems many other owners are going through this same issue. This is extremely dangerous and someone is going to be seriously injured or killed because the vehicle stalls with no warning lights, no alerts, no error codes, no nothing.

Vehicle has severe condensation on both headlights (Driver and Passenger) sides. This issue was addressed before and light were replaced by dealership. This is definitely a design defect that allows condensation to accumulate. This has affected proper light projection which would not be adequate for reasonable visibility during dark hours. The amount of liquid(condensation) could potentially cause an electrical failure or spark in the front part of the vehicle. This issue has been broadly discussed in Genesis Forums with no permanent solution in sight.

Moisture issues in headlight assemblies from the factory. That buildup of moisture inside the assemblies is causing visibility issues when the lights are needed.

Been dealing with fogged up headlights from the time I bought my 2022 Genesis gv70 new. I've had at least 4 headlights replaced including recently, June 2025. My warrenty is about up and I was told by the dealership that I would be on my own after this. Problem is obviously not resolved. Lighting is a big safety issue. This should be a recall with a fix in place not a stop gap.

severe condensation in headlights Water build up in headlights can reduce visibility, and cause more electrical issues, malfunctions. Both headlights have been replaced by dealer on separate occasions. My driver side headlight a year and half later is now filled with condensation again. First headlight (driver-side) showed condensation about one year after ownership. The second (passenger side) about eight months later, and now three and a half years later the driver side headlight has condensation again.

Car started bucking and lost power. Turned back into my neighborhood and it only went about 20mph and struggled to get back to my house. Totally shut down and I had it towed to dealership. I had about 1/8 tank of gas and no low fuel warning lights on. Dealership said it was out of gas even though gas showed 27 mikes left. I know for sure it wasn’t out of gas. I don’t feel safe driving this car. I only have 18000 miles on it.

The vehicle is shutting down during regular routine driving. Stops in mid traffic with no warning. It is very dangerous and someone could be fatally injured.

When accelerating from a stop the vehicle will hesitate to go, then begins to buck as if it is trying to go which causes a whiplash motion. The vehicle has also hesitated to go, then bucked then stalled on us during acceleration after a turn. Thankfully, we were on a street that was not busy at the time. The episodes are getting worse and more frequent but the dealership doesn’t seem to want to address the issue even though multiple videos have been sent to the service manager.

I am uncertain what exactly is wrong with my vehicle. As it appear the certified dealer is also not unaware how to resolve the issue. My vehicle has sat at the Lithia Springs, GA Hyundai dealership since approximately August 23, 2022. I requested service on my vehicle because it started stalling, and shutting off while operating the vehicle without warning. This is a major concern as it put the driver and passengers at risk considering the circumstances. The last time I drove my vehicle. It shut off completely while driving on major interstate I-20 in the middle of expressway, surrounded by other vehicles. With much caution, we made it to the side of the highway. Where we restarted my truck and proceeded to make it back to Lithia Springs Hyundai, where we picked up my vehicle just a hour prior to this event. We were assured my vehicle was repaired properly. Later realizing in fact no repairs had been made at all. My vehicle shut off 3 additional time before reaching the dealership. Where we road slowly through traffic with hazard warning lights flashing. My vehicle has sat without repair since it was left that day. This week, I was contacted by a case manager with Genesis and instructed to come pick up my truck, return the loaner vehicle. Drive my truck two hours away to another dealership in Albany Georgia to further assist with just a review of my vehicle. Please let it be known. No repairs has been made to my vehicle. Yet I am being asked to risk my life by driving a knowingly unsafe vehicle. Putting myself, as well as other people lives in danger, for a task that should be handled by the manufacturer. I have been more than patient! Allowing a fair opportunity for Genesis and Lithia Springs Hyundai to come up with a better resolve that doesn’t involve me possibly dying for supporting their brand! This entire experience has impacted my life severely! Causing a enormous amount of stress

On the top trim of the Genesis GV70, with the upgraded sport break and gas pedals the ergonomics for both pedals are horrible. The gas pedal in particular requires a significant amount of force to be depressed from a normal driving position in all drive mode (except the sport modes) resulting in pain and frequent muscle contract episodes while driving- which caused be to pull off on the soft shoulder while driving on the highway as I was unable to continue driving. It has also caused prolonged pain in my Achilles tendon and I’m unable to drive the car without a leg brace, or I may experience severe muscle contract while driving which would prevent me from pressing gas all together. Its only noticeable after at least 3 weeks of constant driving, so its not something new buyers would be able to identify readily. Additionally the lower trims GV70s have different brake and gas pedals which are more ergonomic, and require significantly less force to be depressed so it wont be noticeable on those trims.

I was on 495 southbound and the car lost power, and almost crashed. I had a recall (low-pressure fuel PumP) but the dealer is not taking me because I am not the original owner of the vehicle, I went to Fitzgerald-Hyundai Genesis Subaru of Gaithersburg, and Mr. Brett Davis turned me out. The engine shut off during driving on October 19th and October 21 2023. The Engine sputters and ceased while in traffic then flashed an "Engine Off!" Warning and made a grinding noise stopping. During the incident on October 21st I was in a heavily trafficked road and lost power at about 20 miles an hour, the resulting engine shut down almost got me rear ended by a vehicle moving much faster.

My 2022 GV70 with only 7,025 miles started making a whining/grinding noise. Shortly after the drivetrain failed while driving the vehicle just after exiting a highway. The vehicle while moving forward every few feet would make a loud bang. While trying to reverse the vehicle the drivetrain was locked and vehicle would not move in reverse even in neutral gear. The service center after 2 months of "investigation" has stated the transfer case needs to be replaced but gave no details on what actually failed. Vehicle is still at the service center awaiting an ETA for part and repair. After reading several forums this seems to be on-going issue with failure of the transfer case with Genesis GV70 and possibly others. This is a safety concern and is a known issue impacting multiple vehicles that could lead to accidents. I believe this should be investigated by NHTSA.

2022 Genesis GV 70 Advanced model, All Wheel Drive warning light is illuminated on the dashboard at first at random driving condition (highway / city) and at no particular speed. This occurred intermittently over a two week period progressing to the light illuminates after 5-10 min of driving after both a hot and cold start. When the light comes on, the 4 wheel drive system disengages and provides power to rear wheels only. Upon inspection by Genesis service, the transfer case is in need of replacement. A google search "GV70 AWD warning light" yields details on numerous others with the same problem, generally with less than 5K on the car. Genesis cannot tell me if the car is safe to drive until the part arrives, saying only if I do not feel safe to drive it, don't. The dealer / service dept reported others with the same problem as well and suggest some form of a recall is needed by Genesis. Genesis cannot tell me if the car is safe to drive until the part arrives, saying only if I do not feel safe to drive it, don't which was/is not very helpful nor responsible as a premium vehicle manufacturer.

Feel difficulty for acceleration and could not drive over 30miles on freeway. it was very dangerous in freeway most cars passed over 70 miles and gave warning signs from the back. No warning signs, messages nor symptoms before. Request roadside towing service and received call from local dealer will take 3 weeks to take inspection for diagnosis. Called customer service several times and received answer will call back 3 - 5 days only with no further action.

The car loses power to accelerate in the middle of driving. I have to stop and turn it off and restart the car, then it will become normal for a little while before the same issue repeats again. It is really scary and can be very dangerous driving on a highway.

There were 3 incidents that have happened within a 2 week period driving this vehicle. 1. Driving in the middle of a 5 lane highway in busy traffic, car shut down. It almost caused a crash with me being hit from the back. 2. I was traveling around a deep curve, car stalled and was almost hit from the back by a transfer truck. was very thankful he could stop in time. I could not proceed to go to the right due to embankment. Very frightening. 3. Approaching a light that turned from red to green, car stalled at the light. It just cut off. It seems as if the company has no intentions on getting this problem fixed because it has almost been 3 months now since the recall. Does it take someone to be killed before they make the change to get these vehicles operable?

Random engine stalling creating safety incidents in traffic. Failure to diagnose the problem despite repeated attempts by 2 service depts.The problem became more frequent and severe until the car stalled and could not be restarted. Low pressure fuel pump assembly was replaced and the car is currently okay. This problem has cost me over 6 weeks use of my car and several dangerous traffic incidents.

Three weeks ago while returning to SC from Fl on I95, the engine jolted, stalled momentarily , and would not accelerate to keep up with traffic. I pulled over, turned off the engine, and re-started the engine. It started and sounded normal, as did the car diagnostic screen which showed nothing abnormal. An hour later and engine stalled again ( in traffic) and yet the diagnostic screen continued to show "all normal". Initially I suspected bad gas, but that theory proved wrong when, with a full tank of fresh gas, it stalled and stopped mid-traffic . In all these incidents I was very lucky to not have been hit by distracted driver. The car was towed to my Genesis dealer, and after a perfunctory check they said that using all their diagnostic tools, the car showed ZERO alerts. I refused their answer and insisted that it be test driven by one their staff. After receiving my permission to do so, one poor fellow drove it to his home, but it broke down well before arriving there. At this juncture they finally understood that they had an issue. Here is where it get's interesting, because my tech savvy son surfed several forums such as Reddit, Facebook and Genesis owners site, and discovered many references to fuel pump failures, stalling, near accidents and the like. I don't know how you rate the severity of car safety issues, but I suspect that total engine failure must rate pretty high. All I ask is that you rattle Genesis' cage and ask them how many fuel pump issues/ replacements they have had over the past two years. My hunch is that it is a material percentage. I find it unacceptable that with today's technology, a defect like this which can endanger lives on any road at any speed, is left unchallenged.

Vehicle came to complete stop on two separate occasions randomly twice in August 2023. (Power stayed on, engine stopped) - (Battery and Engine light came on) As of this point it is uncertain what component failed, but the reports of fuel injector/pump being the source of the problem is so common to the point that it's surprising that there hasn't been a nationwide recall. Right now, it's currently with the dealership service department.

Driving down side road about 35-40 MPH with my son, hit a hole in road. Car made a loud boom with immediate signs of problem. (No airbag deploy or warning signs showing on app or on dash) Pulled over to find no issue with tires, body of car or rims of tire. Upon raising hood, found passenger front strut had pushed through engine casing and was hitting top of hood. Fortunately, I was not on a major highway as that could have led to something more serious. (I realize hitting a hole can cause damage but this seems to be a design flaw and I am worried now every time I hit a bump it will trigger this. I get tire/rim damage, but this is pretty significant.) I have an insurance adjuster looking at it now, notified Genesis Corporation and spoke to the Dealer who claims it's an insurance claim. In my research I have found a forum indicating this has happened to others and Genesis hasn't provided a recall or notified users of this as a safety concern. The pictures and description are consistent across the drivers. I just think this is something that needs to be researched before someone gets seriously hurt.

I was driving my vehicle down a pier to the parking entrance for the USS Midway, 610 N Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101, when for no reason my 2022 GV70, AWD, veered sharply (45 degrees) to the right and made violently contact with a cement block on the pier used to moor ships. I believe there was a failure of the right front suspension system. When I got out of the vehicle to inspect the damage I found some broken bushings on the ground. They were split in half. The right wheel was pushed back 18 inches. I collected all the broken parts and had the vehicle towed to Sun Road Collision Center, 7303 Clairmont Blvd, San Diego, CA 92111. I asked them to save all the broken parts of the suspension system. The USS Midway does have a film of the incident. I was trying to get them to release the video to me. I will upload the photos that I took. I was the only one in the vehicle and knew if that concrete block was not there to stop me I would have gone into San Diego Bay and possibly drowned. The damaged parts are at the Collision Center. I asked them if they saw anything unusual to let me know. I have filed a claim and told what I believe happened to my insurance company, USAA. No police report was filed since the incident occurred off the highway. Two members of the Miday safety team came and provided assistance to me until the tow truck arrived. There were no warning signs or any other indication that this accident was going to occur.

Upon uneven roads or light pot holes the front strut tower mount interior completely slips up toward the engine lid. The parts does not tears it completely slips out causing the strut to hit the bonnet. If this happens at high speed it would be catastrophic.

My car hit a curb and the front strut insulator broke through the upper strut mount. The tire was blown but the wheel was undamaged. Repairs were made by a Genesis dealer. Was told it should have been a warranty repair, but the repairing dealer said no. I believe it should be a warranty item as I have heard about similar problem.01

The contact's father-in-law owned a 2022 Genesis GV70. The contact stated while the driver was driving at an undisclosed speed during rainy weather conditions, the driver crashed into a Ford Fusion at an unknown location and there was a third vehicle impacted that crashed into a wall. The driver of the vehicle that crashed into a wall sustained fatal injuries and no further information was available. The driver's seat belt was fastened however it failed to restrain him during the impact. The air bags deployed. The contact stated according to the police report filed, the fatality of their father-in-law was caused by seat belt failure. The contact stated the father-in-law hit their head on the steering wheel causing blunt force trauma on impact to be the cause of death. The vehicle was towed and deemed a total loss. The failure mileage was unknown.

Hello, I am writing to file a complaint regarding the seatbelt mechanism in my Genesis vehicle and to request an investigation into the issue. The seatbelt system in my car rapidly retracts with no slack. This excessive force can potentially cause serious injuries. Unfortunately, my family and I recently experienced a devastating consequence of this issue. On April 9th, 2022, we were involved in a rear-end collision. We would like to get an answer from if aggressive retraction of the seatbelt, could've resulted in the loss of our unborn child. We are heartbroken and concerned about the safety. We would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter, as we believe that addressing this issue could potentially save lives and prevent further tragedies. I was driving and I wasnt merging, no one was in front or behind me and my car had a collision warning and forced me to brake 3 times in a row. I was going 30 miles per hour and it made me brake really quickly, then it went forward, broke again by itself, went and then broke one more time. I had to wait for it to be normal before entering the freeway. Very scary

I experienced a significant safety issue while operating my vehicle. After initiating a turn, the vehicle's acceleration defaulted, causing it to reach speeds of 60 mph in just a few seconds. Started car. Would not accelerate past 30-40 miles an hour even when I pressed the Gas Pedal to the floor. I pulled over and turned the car off. On restart it seems to be fine. The Genesis GV 70 forum is replete with owners having the same issue. This is a 2022 with less than 25,000 miles on the Odometer. There are not many of these cars on the road and probably many owners are unaware that this seems to be a recurring issue on many of these models. I implore the NHTSA to look into this matter quickly before fatal accidents , if they haven’t occurred already, happen.

As I was driving, my vehicle completely stopped in traffic. All vehicle functions became disabled. Even when putting the car in neutral, it would not budge. Had it not been for construction workers helping me, I could have been killed due to the heavy traffic flow.

The contact owns a 2022 Genesis GV70. The contact stated that while his wife was attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle displayed signs of electrical power, but the vehicle failed to start as expected. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V282000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The VIN was included, but parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,000.

The contact owns a 2022 Genesis GV70. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and making a left turn, the vehicle lost motive power and failed to accelerate. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the low-pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,500.

As I was driving on a heavily trafficked freeway, my engine shut off completely slowing down the car to a stop. I had to make an emergency exit, stop the car and restart it. After a restart I was able to keep driving for a few miles. Then it happened again, I got stuck at a roundabout in a dangerous location so I had to contact authorities for help on guiding traffic away. My car would not start and would just sputter when I tried to restart it. I had to get my vehicle towed and it's currently at the dealership with no clear solution. The shop manager tells me he's gotten a few vehicles with the same exact issue and there is no clear solution as no codes come up when this issue is happening. This was very dangerous and I could have gotten into an accident had I not been on the far right lane to make an exit from the freeway.

Car has now lost power several times, including incident trying to cross multi lane road when it lost power and caused other vehicles to slam on brakes to avoid hitting me. The car lost power while merging onto interstate and vehicles had to avoid my car. It’s lost power just driving down the highway with cars swerving around me. I feel very unsafe but I need my car for work.

Just picked up the gv70 from the dealer for stall out issue and TCM replacement. I have taken it 2 times to the dealer for the stalling out issue and since they can't reproduce the issue its a non issue to them. Having a vehicle stall out unexpectedly is not safe. I believe it has to be a fuel issue, have found other owners that have the same issue and it was their fuel pumps. It is currently at the dealer again for this stalling out issue. I cannot upload any documents as they are in the vehicle.

The coolant system on my 2022 Genesis GV70 has repeatedly failed despite multiple repairs. On April 2, Greenway Genesis diagnosed a coolant leak and replaced several components. The problem returned, and I brought the vehicle back on April 29 because the coolant appeared low again and the engine sounded louder than before. On October 25, Holler Hyundai confirmed another coolant leak, this time involving the integrated thermal management system. The recurring coolant loss places my safety at risk because it can lead to engine overheating, sudden power loss, or engine failure while driving. The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by two separate Genesis/Hyundai service centers. However, the root cause has not been identified or corrected, and the manufacturer has not provided a permanent solution. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by authorized dealerships, and repair invoices are available for review. Despite these failures, no coolant warning light or dashboard message ever appeared, which raises concern that a sensor or monitoring component may not be functioning correctly. There were no warnings or messages at any point before or during the coolant loss. The vehicle is currently at Greenway Genesis and is available for inspection. Based on multiple repeated failures and the absence of any warning indicators, there appears to be an unresolved defect that could create a safety hazard while the vehicle is in operation.

We (wife and I) are the owner of a 2022 Genesis GV70. The vehicle has had multiple dangerous incidents affecting steering and driver control. Most recent event (dated 9/11/25): While driving at ~30 mph on city streets, an alarm sounded, the steering suddenly became very stiff, and the word “Emergency” appeared on the dashboard. This condition lasted briefly but made steering extremely difficult. Prior events (approx. six over the past two years): While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle has suddenly begun to swerve side to side with an alarm sounding — even though the lane assist feature was turned off. These incidents occur randomly, without warning, and cannot be reproduced on demand. Each time, she had to fight the steering to maintain control. Dealer inspection: The vehicle was taken to the Genesis dealership after earlier incidents. They found no diagnostic codes and offered no explanation or repair. Safety Concern: This vehicle appears to have a serious safety defect affecting steering control and stability. The unpredictable loss of normal steering or sudden emergency intervention poses a high risk of an accident. I request that NHTSA investigate this issue to determine whether it is part of a wider defect requiring recall or corrective action.

The contact stated that at that point, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed, and determined that an unknown software update was needed. The software update was performed. The contact was then informed that the battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced. The dealer later determined that the battery did not need to be replaced. The contact was informed that, after further diagnostic testing and inspection, the failure was due to an alternator wiring harness failure. The contact was informed that the alternator wiring harness was burned. The contact was informed that it was an unusual failure. The contact was informed that the alternator wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,308.

Vehicle experienced water intrusion through sunroof drainage system during rainfall, causing saturation of interior components and electrical malfunctions. Water accumulated in cup holders, dashboard areas, and saturated headliner materials. Following water exposure, vehicle developed multiple safety-critical electrical failures including: false forward collision avoidance system activation causing unexpected emergency braking with no obstruction present, and improper auto start/stop system engagement during low-speed driving causing vehicle to jerk and stall while in motion. Despite reporting this safety issue immediately, manufacturer Genesis Motor America failed to disclose that this was a known defect covered under Technical Service Bulletin 24-BD-008G. Customer service representatives did not mention existing TSB and refused emergency service appointments, forcing 2-month wait for service scheduling despite life-threatening electrical malfunctions. Customer had to independently discover TSB documentation through research. Only after customer escalated with TSB evidence did Genesis authorize repair. Dealer confirmed drainage system failure and completed repairs per TSB guidelines that manufacturer should have immediately referenced. Genesis's failure to disclose known safety defect and refusal of emergency service created extended exposure to dangerous electrical malfunctions that could result in accidents.

My vehicle has an electrical sensor issue. The Doors do not always open when fob button is pressed. Locks up and does not perform as described by manufacturer. This makes shopping feel a little scary as we have grown accustomed to a car that would open as we approached it. Not sure from day to day whether it will work or not. The Tailgate does not open and after over a dozen visits and at least fifteen days in the shop there is still no resolution to this problem. This means loading and unloading cargo from a side door. Less than ideal. 15 days with three plus visits. The last event occurred about 10 days ago when the air conditioner went out. We have air but no cool air as the ac compressor stoped working. We had the advantage of the car already being scheduled for the door and gate problem now compounded by the AC unit being broke.

I have been getting a number of safety warning lights since about 6 months after buying this car. It is new, under warranty and I am first owner. They were intermittent initially, but have become increasingly frequent and are now associated with a constant warning ping. I have taken the car to FitzGerald Genesis in Clearwater Florida 7 times for this problem. They can reproduce it (and have the codes) but they can not fix it (I took it to Crown Genesis of St. Pete twice for this problem) Genesis has not been interested in repurchasing this car under the lemon law - but offered me 2 car payments to sign a release of liability which I declined. They then called and asked if I could bring the car back for an 8th (really 10th) attempt to fix. They are aware that the safety features are not working (including Adaptive cruise control, lane sensing, forward collision detection, stability control among others) I am in Maine for the summer - but I arranged for a neighbor to drive the car to them. It was in an accident. I am offended that Genesis would ask anyone to drive that car in this unsafe condition. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

"LIMITED SLIP" WARNING AND MULTIPLE DRIVER ASSIST WARNINGS FLASHING ON DIGITAL DASHBOARD. WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR. TOWED TO DEALER SATURDAY MORNING. DEALER HAS NOT LOOKED AT GV70 TO DIAGNOSE IN 7 DAYS. 3 OTHER GENESIS HAD BEEN TOWED TO THE DEALER AS WELL AND WERE SITTING NEXT TO MINE. DEALER IS DOING WHAT THEY CAN BUT NOW HAVE MORE THAN 3X SERVICE FROM RECENTLY CLOSED GENESIS DEALERS IN A 60-70 MILE RADIUS. GENESIS DIFFERENTIAL ISSUES ARE REAL AND UNRESOLVED AND AFFECT A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF GV VEHICLES. GENESIS DEALER ISSUES OF TAKING ON SERVICE FROM CLOSED GENESIS DEALERS, NO APPOINTMENTS FOR MONTHS, NO LOANERS & UNABLE TO REPAIR AND/OR MULTIPLE REPAIRS FOR THE SAME ISSUE ARE REAL AND AFFECT A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF GV OWNERS. In April 2024, I was driving down a side street at about 30 mph. Suddenly there was a slam against the side of the car. I pulled over a block later and found that the passenger side mirror housing had gone into the "closed/locked" position, evidently at speed, dislodging the side mirror. The mirror had then slammed into the car door frame, denting it, and cracking the mirror, causing some of it to shatter away. Thankfully, my car windows were closed or I would likely have had glass shards flying into my car cabin at high speed. There is no damage at all to the mirror housing. I have no explanation for the sudden, fast closing movement other than something that caused it to think it needed to close. I took the car to a Genesis dealer. Without any examination, they told me it "could not be" a flaw in the car; that there must have been an impact. I asked how that could happen with no damage to the mirror housing at a high enough speed to completely dislodge the glued-in and fastened-in mirror and dent the window frame on the car. They had no explanation. I then reported this to Genesis. Their response was I would have to take it to a dealer to be looked at. Neither dealer in the area would sell me a new mirror to self-install and were "squirrely" about when a repair could be made, citing "supply chain" problems getting a replacement mirror. Three weeks ago (late June), while driving on a highway at approximately 70 mph, the same passenger side mirror housing suddenly slammed into the closed position. There was no damage to the car because the mirror was already missing. But this makes me very concerned about replacing the mirror if this intermittent problem is going to recur. I have an appointment at a different dealership scheduled for the end of this month and (along with the open recall and standard service) am asking them to look at this problem again. Pictures provided are of damaged mirror, dented car window frame, and undamaged mirror housing.

The contact owns a 2022 Genesis Supreme Vortex Toy Hauler equipped with Sailun Tires, Tire Line: S637, Tire Size: 235/85/R16, and DOT Number: XXXX that was hitched to a 2006 GMC Sierra. The contact stated while driving at approximately 50 MPH, the front driver's side tire tread had separated off the tire and would not retain air. The failure occurred during a long-distance camping trip and fortunately, the RV had a spare tire. The contact replaced the front driver-side tire with the spare tire. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21T018000 (Tires) however, the tire line was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. Car was coasting into a resteraunt chain drive-thru lane, coming to a slow when the car very quickly excellerated. A quick application of the brakes stopped the rapid acceleration. Neither foot was on the gas, one was resting over the brake pedal in order to stop the car before reaching the car ahead of us. I have OEM floor mats that do not sit on the pedals. I was not using the Paddle shifters. This has happened on more than one occasion in similar conditions.

Lane keeping assist veers out of highway lane when an unlined entrance- exit appears. Vehicle is looking for the right line and swerves out of the lane to find it. Could cause a collision with an incoming vehicle. 2nd part the vehicle shimmies down the highway for the same reason when space between dashed lines appear. Constantly correcting itself. Solution would be a recall to reprogram all Hyundai and Genesis vehicles with lane following to only look at the left lines.

The first incident I had occurred approximately three weeks ago. I began accelerating from a stop light when I felt something jerk. My car began to slow down and it would not accelerate. The car would not go over 20 mph per hour. This incident was extremely dangerous as I was on a highway that has a speed limit of 55 mph. I brought the car to the Genesis dealership. They diagnosed it as a bad fuel pump. I got the car back 3 weeks later (today 09/13/2023) and drove it about 10 miles before I experienced a similar issue. I was stopped at a red light when the car began to shake. The car would not accelerate over 15 mph. I brought the car back to the dealership to be looked at again. I will know more when they reopen tomorrow. These incidents are extremely dangerous especially on highways. I am scared to drive this car again for fear it will happen on the interstate or when I am unable to pull over. The replaced fuel pump did not fix the issue.

This happened twice before I took the car back to the dealer for service. Both times I was driving the vehicle and it suddenly stops accelerating. The car suddenly comes to a stop. I continued pressing the accelerator and the car continued to quickly slow down to a stop. Both times I was in traffic and could have been rear ended or certainly could have caused an accident. The car is currently at the dealer and they have not called me yet to know what they found. I am a member of the GV70 Facebook group and I have seen many other owners who reported the same issue with their vehicle. It truly is terrifying and obviously a safety risk. Some members of the group stated that they were told it was the fuel pump. Genesis needs to get this issue fixed.

The engine lunged several times and then completely died. The car was towed to the dealership and the fuel pump has gone out. There are 7 GV70's sitting there with the same issue. Luckily it stalled in a turning lane and not while driving on the interstate. There is a problem!

I was driving down the interstate at 70 mph when my gas pedal stopped responding and the car was slowing down. Suddenly the car started beeping at me saying the engine was shut off and I needed to put it into park or neutral immediately. This happened a week prior on a 45 mph road and I was able to restart the car with no issues. This time, my car restarted when I got off the highway but immediately shut down again. It is incredibly dangerous to have a car shut down suddenly especially on a highway.

Additionally, while driving 65-70 MPH the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was restarted, but the failure persisted. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer however, the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Gettel Genesis of Lakewood Gettel (5921 FL-64, Bradenton, FL 34208) but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

I have started getting Check limited slip differential pop up on the cluster. This is a known issue and many people have already reported it. There should be a recall on this. Also there are fuel pump issues causing stalling sometimes.

Vehicle lost power while normal driving. This happened multiple times. All dashboard lights turn on, then vehicle shut down/shut off. Had to safely pull over to shift gear into PARK, then restart vehicle. Vehicle acceleration is very poor, the more it does this. Vehicle feels like it’s not being provided fuel. On my app, vehicle show “ALL SYSTEMS NORMAL”. Purchased brand new, only 8500 highway miles.

At 65 miles an hour on the interstate, I suddenly lost control of the accelerator and the car immediately began to lose speed. I pulled into the breakdown lane and came to a stop. I put the car in park and attempted to increase the engine speed by pressing on the accelerator. It was only when I jammed my foot to the floor that the engine responded. I then drove the car carefully to a Genesis dealer where I was told that this happens to the GV 70 when it is in Eco mode. The car is now at the dealer who will attempt to fix it, I hope.

The contact owns a 2022 Genesis GV70. The contact stated that while driving at 10 MPH and attempting to come to a stop, upon depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to come to a stop. As a result, the contact collided with the vehicle in front of him. The contact stated that the FWC system failed to activate prior to the collision. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were displayed on the instrument panel. A police report was filed. The other driver was transported via ambulance to be treated for undisclosed injuries. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and later towed to an independent mechanic, where it remained. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 21,000.

The issue reported has been since day one having the vehicle. The hood shakes excessively, sometimes violently, while driving at highway speeds as well as at non-highway speeds if any significant headwind is present. This flapping creates uneven and unpredictable drag that affects the straight-line tracking of the vehicle under normal driving situations. These characteristics are exacerbated by turns at highway speeds and on surface streets on particularly windy days. As the hood rises, air enters the engine compartment and causes uneven pressure changes and an unpredictable swirling and turbulent flow of air that the vehicle is not designed to handle. These combined forces acting on the vehicle throw the lane assist, cruise control, and lane departure warning systems into fits. On more than one occasion I have had to 'fight' the vehicles inputs to stay on the desired track and to avoid departing the road. Aside from immediate safety concerns, the abnormal stresses imposed on the vehicle, components, and tires are causing wear at an unknown rate and a premature component failure is likely. Napleton Genesis attempted to adjust the hood on two occasions prior to claiming to put a new hood on the vehicle. After yielding no positive results, a remedy was sought by contacting Genesis Motor America. They claimed to not know of similar complaints. After several email and phone conversations the vehicle was sent to Pugi Genesis for another failed adjustment attempt. My suspicions that it is a design flaw relating to the 'Clamshell' design of the hood were confirmed by the contact below, who stated on a recorded line on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, that she received an email from 'the engineers' claiming that they are aware of the issue and that they will not follow up because 'it is fine'. The contact then shifted to drive and the back Over Prevention camera screen activated. There was also an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer stated the battery was low and there was no coolant in the reservoir or radiator. The vehicle was repaired but the failure continued. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer but was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 4,977.

The issue started 1/24/2022 9:30pm when the car steering wheel buttons features where off and 2 warning lights on. All self driving mode assistance where off. I took the car to Nashua Hyundai 140 Daniel Webster Hwy, Nashua, NH 03060 tel 603- 888- 8080, i believe was the week of the 31, and they ordered the 3 parts. They told me it was safe to drive the car. During Saturday 1/21 I drove to NYC to meet my cousins for my uncle funeral. I noticed that the car was slightly accelerating itself without no warning. On 1/22 Sunday returning home from NYC, I notice that I had to put the brakes more frequenty. On 1/27/2023, the 3 electric parts were installed and when leaving the dealer the car was not responding to the acceleration (it won run) and abruptly accelerated. Then at the highway US 3 South it started to reduce speed by itself (55/65 zone). Almost 2 car collide with me at the rear at they had to reduce speed abruptly. I returned to the dealer with the warning lights on. The technician plug the computer deffects detector and the system could not detect the error. The warning signs where off. He drove the car and there found the traction control coming on and off causing the car to accelerate and reduced speed by itself. I thought I was not going to make it as they were a lot of trucks near me when I was trying to drive and return to the dealer. I sworn to protect the public health since 2015, I am fulfilling that duty with this report to avoid preventable accident or death. I believe this car advance AI/ML system are blocking access to detection system to detect errors. Which could endanger findings of significant errors that can cause injuries or death while driving. All repairs documented are at the dealer and inside the car. The car still at the dealer as of today if you need to conduct an inspection 1/30,/2023. Also, the Genesis app is not recording malfunctioning until the dealer connect the system. The location of the sensors for the forward collision, adaptive cruise control and lane departure are located too low in the front grill. During snow conditions ice and snow cover the sensors and they do not operated properly. I purchased my vehicle in August 2021 and last winter as well as today (December 16, 2022 while driving near Chicago I encountered several instances where the above systems did not work properly. I contacted my local dealer as well as the Genesis Motor Vehicle company. The dealer confirmed they had several similar complaints to mine. I was advised by both the local dealer as well as Genesis Motor company to turn the systems off in snowy conditions. Disconnecting the system results in an unsafe situation. The location of the sensors is too close to the pavement. Genesis needs to correct this design flaw.

While having brake hold feature enabled, with the auto start and stop system, the car rocks forward then backward before driving off, which leads to a sensation of whiplash for the driver as well as create a 1-3 unexpected delay in acceleration which almost caused an accident while turning on to a main road from a minor road. As well as lead to unnecessary strain on the neck. It appears to be an issue with the 2 systems (auto start and stop and brake hold) interacting with each other.
