IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS, WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED, THE AIRBAG LIGHT BY THE SPEEDOMETER FLASHES TWICE, STOPS, FLASHES TWICE, THEN STOPS. THIS CONTINUES FOR ABOUT 20-30 SECONDS AFTER THE CAR IS STARTED AND IS RUNNING/IDLING. ONCE THE 20-30 SECONDS HAVE PASSED, THE AIRBAG LIGHT THEN REMAINS PERMANENTLY LIT. IT REMAINS LIT WHILE DRIVING. THE CYCLE STARTS AGAIN ONCE THE CAR IS RESTARTED.

ON THE 8TH OF AUGUST 2017 A FLASHING SIGNAL APPEARED AND I CHECKED MY MANUAL AND IT WAS AN ALERT ABOUT AIRBAG ALERT. I CALLED HILEY MAZDA IN GRAND PRAIRIE TEXAS AND MADE APPOINTMENT. THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $99.99 AND I LEFT BECAUSE THE EVENING NEW SAID THEIR WAS A RECALL FOR AIR BAGS MY YEAR AND MODEL.

THE MAZDA HAS MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH TURBO BOOSTER FUNCTIONING AND MALFUNCTIONING CAUSING AIR POLLUTION ISSUES WITH BILLOWING WHITE SMOKE FR TAILPIPE, MAZDA DOES NOT WARRANTY THIS BY ONGOING ISSUES WITH SOME REPAIRS HAVING TO BE DONE AS EARLY AS 60000 MILES,. MY CAR IS LESS THAN 100000 MILES WITH EXTENSIVE REPAIR REQUIRED TO RESOLVE ISSUE, REPAIRS AS EXPENSIVE AS 3000 DOLLARS. THE SMOKE IS SO THICK IS IMPAIRS THE VISION OF CARS THAT MAYBE BEHIND VEHICLES WITH THIS PROBLEM. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED AND RESOLVED, CAR OWNERS SHOULD BE MADE AWARE WHEN PURCHASING THESE MAZDA OF THIS HEAVILY UNRELIABLE IMPORTANT PART OF THE VEHICLE TO MAKE THE DECISION BEFOREHAND IF THEY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE EXPENSIVE REPAIRS SHOULD THEY OCCUR.

I TOOK MY 2009 MAZDA CX-7 (108,000 MILES) IN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND TO SEE WHY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD COME ON. I WAS INFORMED THE TURBO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THAT I NEEDED TO GET A NEW CAR IMMEDIATELY. THE DEALERSHIP WAS HESITANT TO LET ME LEAVE IN THE CAR AS IT COULD STOP WORKING AT ANY TIME AND BECAUSE I DO A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF HIGHWAY DRIVING THIS IS PARTICULARLY ALARMING. NO REMEDY WAS OFFERED AND I WAS TOLD IT WASN'T WORTH REPAIRING. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE CX-7 AND A DANGER TO THE DRIVER AND OTHER DRIVERS AROUND WHEN THE CARS STOP WORKING DUE TO THE ISSUES WITH THE TURBO. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED IF SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE WITH SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS.

STARTING HEARING A NOISE INITIALLY--NOT SURE WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM BUT THOUGHT IT WAS INTERNAL TO THE ENGINE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY VERIFIED THAT THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO BE REMOVED TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PART. I CAN NOT REMEMBER THE PART NAME BUT IT WAS CLEAR FROM THE DEALER REP THAT MY CAR WAS ONE OF MANY THEY HAVE REPLACED. I SPENT $1244.00 IN REPAIRS ON MY VEHICLE THAT THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED WAS A FACTORY DEFECT ON MY CAR AND MANY OTHERS. JUST NOT RIGHT *JS

IN JANUARY 2012, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM MAZDA INC THAT THE COMPANY WAS EXTENDING THE WARRANTY ON THE TIMING CHAIN TO 70,000 MILES. IN THE LETTER, IT STATED THAT A CERTIFIED MAZDA DEALER COULD INSPECT THE VEHICLE TO DETERMINE IF THE TIMING CHAIN HAS A PROBLEM. ON FEB 24 THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A CERTIFIED MAZDA GARAGE AND WHEN MY HUSBAND WENT TO PICK IT UP, THEY SAID "IT HAS A SLIGHT NOISE BUT NOTHING BIG.THEN THEY ASKED FOR ALL THE RECEIPTS FROM THE OIL CHANGES. NOW, WE BOUGHT THE CAR IN MARCH 2009, THEREFORE WE WOULD HAVE NO RECEIPTS FOR THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF THE CAR WAS WITH ANOTHER OWNER. WE ONLY HAD 3 RECEIPTS B/C MY HUSBAND ROUTINELY CHANGE THE OIL . NOW, THE OTHER THING WAS IN EARLY FEBRUARY, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO NOT START ALL THE TIME. IT WAS TAKEN TO OUR LOCAL GARAGE AND THE REPAIR MAN SAID IT COULD BE A NUMBER OF THINGS, BUT SINCE IT HAS THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE...THAT COULD BE ONE OF THE PROBLEMS THAT CAUSES A CAR NOT TO START. THE DEAL WAS MAZDA WAS NOT GOING TO PAY FOR A NEW TIMING CHAIN B/C WE COULDN'T PRODUCE OIL CHANGE RECEIPTS AND IF THERE WAS SLUDGE IN THE MOTOR "THIS COULD BE WHY". SO ON MARCH 30, THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP CALLED AND SAID FOR $180 THE GASKETS COULD BE PULLED TO SEE IF THERE WAS SLUDGE. WHICH IN ALL THE REPORTS THAT I READ ON THIS WEBSITE, MAJORITY OF ENGINES HAD SLUDGE B/C THE MOTOR BURNS THE OIL TOO HOT. THE OTHER REPAIRS THAT VEHICLE HAD: 2010 -AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR (IT WAS RECALLED) ($900), A NEW STARTER ($300), DEC 2011- RT REAR WHEEL BEARING ($600), FEB '12- NEW BATTERY ($100) WHICH DIDN'T NEED TO BE REPLACED B/C IT WAS PART OF THE TIMING CHAIN PROBLEM.SO ON APRIL 4, WE TRADED THE VEHICLE AND BOUGHT A 2009 HONDA CR-V. MY HUSBAND AND I WILL NEVER BY A MAZDA AGAIN.

WE LEASED A 2009 MAZDA CX-7 (GARAGED AND HIGHWAY DRIVEN ONLY). THERE WAS NEVER A PROBLEM. THE BATTERY DIED. WE CHANGED THE BATTERY. CAR STARTED AND THEN DIED. AFTER ONE MONTH, IT AGAIN HAD BEEN FLAT BEDDED BY MAZDA. THEY DID A CHECK AND TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, BUT THEY FOUND SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THEY HAD A RECALL ON A VALVE WHICH I NEVER RECEIVED IN THE MAIL. THE CAR ONLY HAD 17,000 MILES ON IT. AFTER 3 YEARS, MAZDA CAME BACK AND SAID THEY WOULD COVER UNDER LEASE OR EXTENDED WARRANTY, WHICH I HAD. THEY SAID IT WOULD COST $9,500 TO REPLACE AN ENGINE WITH A 17,000-MILE LEASED CAR AND THEY WOULD NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT. I WANT TO START A LAWSUIT ON THE CAR AS I HAVE HAD MANY LEASES WITHOUT THESE PROBLEMS EVER AND LEASED OVER 10 CARS IN THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS WITH NO PROBLEM. *JS

I BOUGHT THIS USED AROUND JUNE 2010 WITH APPROX. 16000 MILE. I HAD OIL CHANGE AT THE LOCAL GARAGE STATION. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE OIL WAS VERY THICK. SO I HAD IT CHANGED AGAIN WITHIN THREE MONTH. IT WAS RUNNING FINE WITHOUT ANY INDICATION AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I LOST THE POWER AND ENGINE QUIT. I HAD IT TOWED TO GARAGE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT IS BETTER WE HAVE IT CHECKED BY DEALER AS THIS HAS WARRANTY. MAZDA DEALER LOOKED IN TO THIS AND TOLD ME THAT THE TURBO ENGINE IS RUINED DUE TO GUNK IN THE OIL. THEY ASKED ME FOR OIL CHANGE RECORD. I ONLY HAD SINCE I HAD IT . I COULD NOT GET ANY PREVIOUS RECORD. MAZDA AND DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE WARRANTY IS VOID DUE TO NEGLIGENCE TO MAINTAIN. THEY WILL NOT COVER UNDER WARRANTY. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS. I OWN A 2009 MAZDA CX 7 TURBO. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD IT'S PROPER OIL CHANGES BY A SERVICE GARAGE NOT A "QUICK LUBE" PLACE. THE OIL WAS CASTROL GTX 5W-30W, WITH FROM OIL FILTER.THE LONGEST INTERVAL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES WAS 6000 MILES AND THE SHORTEST 4000 MILES. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS 45,664 MILES ON IT AND THE WIFE COMPLAINED ABOUT A HIGH PITCHED NOISE AND LACK OF PERFORMANCE . BROUGHT TO THE MAZDA DEALER, THE DEALER SAID THE TURBO WENT AND THAT MAZDA WILL NOT COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY (60,000 WARRANTY ON DRIVE TRAIN AND TURBO) BECAUSE OF ENGINE SLUDGE !! ARE YOU KIDDING ME...ENGINE SLUDGE, THE PROPER OIL VISCOSITY WAS USED AT PROPER INTERVAL (MAZDA SAYS 7500 BETWEEN OIL CHANGES). NO SIGNS OF OVER HEATING, HIGH ENGINE TEMPS, THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN TO WORK AND BACK (4 MILES AWAY) 2X'S PER DAY 6 DAYS A WEEK. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE ENGINE OIL IS NOT GETTING UP TO TEMP. AND THIS IS CAUSING THE SLUDGE, MAZDA DOES NOT STATE THIS ANYWHERE ANY TIME IN THEIR MANUAL. I FOUND THIS OUT ONLY AFTER RESEARCHING ON LINE....ANYONE ELSE HAVING ISSUES WITH THEIR MAZDA ???? BOTH REAR TAIL LIGHTS LOOKED CLOUDY AND THE RED COLOR OF THE REAR LIGHTS APPEARED WHITE. I REMOVED THE LIGHT BULBS, THINKING THAT MAYBE THEY HAD BURNED OUT. I NOTICED THE LIGHT BULBS HAD MELTED THROUGH THE INTERNAL RED PLASTIC LENS OF THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND LEFT A HOLE ABOUT THE SIZE OF A QUARTER THAT ALLOWS THE WHITE LIGHT FROM THE BULB TO SHINE THROUGH. THE MELTED PLASTIC WAS ALL OVER THE BULBS AND THERE WAS A BURNT PLASTIC ODOR. THE 7743 BULBS WERE BOTH ORIGINAL TO THE CAR FROM MAZDA WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN JULY 2009. I NOTIFIED MAZDA CORPORATE AND THEY HAD ME TAKE IT TO MY DEALER. THEY INSPECTED THE LIGHTS AND SAID MAZDA WAS WILLING TO OFFER A $500 GOODWILL TO REPLACE THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY. THAT WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF $1226.77 WITHOUT LABOR TO HAVE THE DEALER REPLACE THE TAIL LIGHTS. THEY GAVE ME A CASE REF# 1-174187018. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE AND THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TO GET THE LIGHTS REPLACED. THIS IS A PROBLEM WHEN THE LIGHT BULBS BURN THROUGH THE PLASTIC TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY. NORMAL LOW LIGHT BEAM IS CUT OFF BY THE DESIGN OF THE SURROUNDING HOOD AREA OF THE VEHICLE. THIS DESIGN FACTOR CUTS OFF THE PROJECTED BEAM AND LIMITS THE DISTANCE OF CLEAR VISIBILITY. THE PROBLEM WAS DESCRIBED DURING DEALER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD, THAT IS HOW IT WAS DESIGNED. NO ADJUSTMENT OF LIGHT IS POSSIBLE IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE NIGHT LOW BEAM VISIBILITY. APPARENTLY THE DESIGN OF THE TURBO AND THE ENGINE CREATES HOT SPOTS IN THE ENGINE, ESPECIALLY IN THE TURBO. THESE HOT SPOT CREATE SLUDGE BUILD UP WHICH EVENTUALLY EFFECTS THE PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY OF THE ENGINE. THIS MAZDA CX-7 HAS BEEN DRIVEN BY MY DISABLED FINANCE AND USED FOR IN CITY DRIVING IT'S WHOLE LIFE AND ONE DAY A HIGH PITCHED WHINING SOUND DEVELOPED AND THE CAR WAS DELIVERED TO CAPITOL MAZDA FOR AN INSPECTION. UPON GETTING THE RESULTS WE WERE TOLD THAT THE CAR HAD NOT HAD REGULAR SERVICING AT THE DEALER. I AGREED AS I AM AN ENGINEER AND DO MOST SERVICING OF MY FAMILIES VEHICLES. I purchased a car from Best Buy Motors in Spanaway, WA on [XXX]. Three days later I took the car in for an oil change and my mechanic cited safety issues and identified the rear brakes were faulty and deemed them a safety hazard. I repaired the brakes because I did not want to continue driving them under those conditions. My mechanic stated that the dealership was wrong for selling the car with the brake pads so thin and worn. My bill for the brakes and oil change was $778.28. I called the dealership and asked them to pay for the "parts" $388.08. They talked to the mechanic and came back with parts for $119. They could have fixed the brakes for that amount before they sold it to me. My issue is that they had the car on the lot for over 6 weeks and allowed people to test drive the car with faulty rear brakes. That is hazardous to me and to people who are on the road. I still have the rotors and pads that were taken off the car. I showed the old parts to another mechanic and he agreed that it was indeed a safety hazard to be driving with them in that condition. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND TURNED IT ON AND OFF THREE TIMES THEN EVERYTHING CAME BACK ON. THEN LATER IN THE DAY 3/18/2010 AT 7:00 PM THE RADIO DISPLAY AND THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. THIS TIME I JUST KEPT PRESSING THE ON AND OFF BUTTON A COUPLE TIMES THIS DID NOT WORK BUT THEN THE RADIO JUST CAME ON BY ITSELF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER ON 3/19/2010 THE RESULTS AS THE DEALER NOTICE SAYS: UNABLE TO DUPLICATE. COULD NOT FIND ANY POOR CONNECTIONS TO HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. DURING TEST DRIVE. NORMAL OPERATION OBSERVED. PULLED CODES, TWO WERE FOUND FOR HIGH VOLTAGE. NO FREEZE DATA AVAILABLE. CALLED TECH-LINE AND NO KNOWN ISSUES FOR THESE SYMPTOMS OR CODES. SUGGEST INSPECTION OF PCM/BCM/FUSE BLOCK CONNECTIONS AND ALTERNATOR. INSPECT ALTERNATOR, NORMAL OUTPUT, AT 14V. ALL CONNECTIONS GOOD. NO CORROSION FOUND. NO LEAKS FOUND IN THE DRIVER KICK PANEL , OR LOOSE CONNECTIONS. NORMAL OPERATION AND CONDITION AT THIS TIME. *TR

I PURCHASED A NEW VEHICLE AND NOTICED SQUEAKING IN THE REAR WHEELS WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. I TOOK THIS INTO THE DEALER AND WAS FIRST TOLD THAT THIS WAS NORMAL. THEN THE DEALER SANDED DOWN THE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS AND SAID IT WAS OKAY. THE SQUEAKING PERSISTED AND I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER. THEY REPLACED ROTORS AND SAID IT WAS FIXED. THE SQUEAKING STILL CONTINUED. I CONTACTED MANUFACTURER AND THEY DIDNT RESPOND FOR WEEKS. I CONTACTED DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULDNT DO ANYTHING FURTHER. I WENT BACK TO DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD SAND DOWN BRAKE PADS AGAIN. THEY TOOK FOR ANOTHER TEST DRIVE AND IGNORED MY CALLS FOR WEEKS. FINALLY I TOOK TO ANOTHER DEALER PER MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTION AND VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN SHOP FOR A WEEK. *TR
