SEAT BELTS
57 complaints
I am writing to follow up on an ongoing issue with the seat belts in my Hyundai Palisade. I have previously reached out through multiple channels and have been in contact with a representative who has made efforts to assist, which I sincerely appreciate. However, the issue remains unresolved, and I am growing increasingly concerned. This vehicle is our primary family car. My wife relies on it daily to transport our children and my mother-in-law, and the current seat belt issue raises serious safety concerns for all of us. At this point, I do not feel confident that the vehicle provides the level of safety my family depends on. I have inquired about possible solutions, including a potential buyback program or the opportunity to transition into a newer Palisade that does not present these issues. My goal is simply to ensure that my family can travel safely and with peace of mind. I respectfully ask for your assistance in escalating this matter or exploring any available options that would lead to a timely and satisfactory resolution. Your support in addressing this safety concern would mean a great deal to my family and me. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V607000 (Seat Belts); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

5-6 weeks ago my seatbelt began unbuckling itself up to six times in a 25 minute commute. I called Crain Hyundai of Bentonville to schedule the repair as this is a recall issue. I was told since I was experiencing issues I’d be bumped up the list and they were anticipating parts the following week. I called back 2 weeks later after not hearing from them and spoke to a different person who confirmed I was on a list and they just don’t have the parts. I then called the Hyundai customer service line 2 weeks ago and started a case to escalate the issue since the problem is a life safety issue and persistent. I was told by my case manager that after speaking with Crain Hyundai, I am not on a list and they will be escalating the matter. Crain Hyundai claims to have never heard of me, even though they confirmed my phone number back to me after the first call, and confirmed again after the second call. After requesting escalation through Hyundai to a supervisor because the case manager “could not disclose the internal issue” in which I am not on a list. I called Crain myself and the female advisor said there is no list, never was, and they apparently don’t plan to create one either. I asked about trading it in and she said it’s fine, they just can’t resell them and that they have a stock pile of Palisades for this reason. I asked how I can be sure they aren’t hoarding the seatbelts as they come in for their own stock pile to be able to resell them and she just claimed I’d need an appointment to get a seatbelt. I asked about making an appt and she said I could but they won’t call if the part is not in. She claims she has not seen seatbelts come in for months, even though this recall has been around for a long time and I’ve had one belt replaced in 2023 already. Hyundai is not taking this life safety recall seriously at all and I’m concerned there is an opportunity to use up all the new seatbelts on their stockpile rather than current drivers who need them.

When the recall for the seatbelts was first released I went to the dealership and was told my car was not affected which was incorrect. More recently they admitted it was included but it would be at least one year before I would see the repair completed. Now there’s another recall but Hyundai has no remedy!

I own a Hyundai vehicle with an active safety recall related to seatbelt buckle failure. The driver seatbelt buckle does not latch at all. The seatbelt tongue inserts but does not lock, making the seat unusable and unsafe to be driven. This issue matches the recall description for defective seatbelt buckle assemblies that may prevent proper latching. I have contacted multiple Hyundai dealerships and Hyundai corporate. I was informed that the recall remedy is not currently available due to lack of parts and will likely not be available for another 16 weeks. This recall has been open since approximately September 2025, and as of now (March 2026), no repair has been provided. Hyundai has not provided a loaner vehicle or guaranteed transportation solution despite the safety-critical nature of this issue. I was advised to contact dealerships individually to search for parts or loaners, which is not a viable solution. I am concerned about the extended delay in providing a remedy for a critical safety component and the lack of a consistent interim solution for affected owners.

My driver windshield wiper stop working when driving. It was snowing out and it stopped working. Dealership has been notified. Put myself and my children in the car at risk because I was unable to see out the window. There was no warning light that came on, did not smell differently, just stopped working. Nothing has been inspected as it happened less than 24 hrs ago. Dealer has been notified. They said someone will call me back. Have not heard from the device manager yet.

Windshield wipers got crossed in the middle of snowstorm. Drivers side wipers not working properly since. The windshield wipers on my 2022 Palisade are crossing and failing in snow, which is the exact safety defect described in Recall 243. Even though it's listed as closed, the part has failed and it's a safety hazard. Now the cars wipers will not work properly in heavy rain or snow. Reached out to both local dealerships and Hyundai customer care. 1 local dealership refused to take the vehicle. Other local dealership was prepared to charge me to refix despite asking for a goodwill refix. Asked Customer care Hyundai corporate for a goodwill fix override and was not given one upon asking.

2022 Hyundai Palisade had issue with wipers (stopping at 5 inch from designated place), it was reported and repaired previously in 2023 by Hyundai Dealer. However, recently after cold weather, drive side wiper arm was bent inward and passenger side wiper was not working. It is physically impossible for some one to bend wiper arm inwards and provided Hyundai with pictures and Dealer is claiming improper use even when we didn't touch or changed wipers previously. There was a recall previously on this issue but don't remember if my vehicle is part of that recall

To date, the windshield has cracked and required replacement three times. This has happened in August 2023, Sept 2024 & May 2025. The first instance was caused by a small chip resulting from a visible impact. However, the subsequent two replacements occurred without any known cause or visible damage, suggesting a potential defect in the windshield's design or material integrity. This ongoing problem is not only inconvenient and costly, but also raises serious safety concerns. Windshields should not crack spontaneously under normal driving conditions. Is it the quality of the windshield or is this issue part of a larger defect affecting this vehicle model?

Snowing & my drivers side front wiper stopped working. Palssenger side ok. Had to pull over every couple blocks to manually wipe window clear to see to get home. It has been over a week and still does not work.

The sunroof exploded while driving down the road. No other vehicles were within 100m of us. It sounded like a shotgun going off. Immediately pulled over to assess the damage and found almost no glass inside the car. The glass that was surrounding the break was protruding upward as if it had been building pressure from the inside of the car. Vehicle is available for inspection. I was swerving all over the road ducking my head thinking I had been shot at (combat vet). Im guessing the glass that wasn't found inside the car hit the road behind us but no other vehicles were around us at the time. If someone would have been behind us, they would have gotten peppered with broken glass. Dealer has not been notified yet but have seen many reports of the same thing happening to other people online. No one else has inspected the damage at this time. No warnings or messages were given prior to but im sure thats impossible. Temperature today has been between 30 and 40 degrees F. No major or rapid changes within the last few days.

Driving approx. 45 mph through [XXX] when I heard loud boom and glass shattering. After calming down and avoiding a collision I realized my sunroof had essentially exploded and shattered. No impact or foreign debris was visible or noted.I was very scared. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Recall notice was received reporting 3rd row seating unsafe for occupants. There is no remedy at this time and I have 4 children under the age of 8, two of which ride in the 3rd row. Dealership has been reluctant to help with this matter and Hyundai corporate has delayed communication.

While driving to work this morning, 12/31/25, at approximately 0730 my front sunroof exploded. There was no collision, no debris, nothing hit the glass. This put me and my child at risk due to exploding glass. I have attempted to contact dealer to inquire but am waiting on a returned phone call. I have filed a claim with my insurance as well. There was no warning that this was going to occur.
Dec 31, 2025
The sun roof in our 2022 Hyundai Palisade exploded on Friday 28th November whilst we were driving down the highway on I25 to [XXX] . All of my family were in the car and the sunroof exploded outwards for no reason. There were no windows or doors open at that time to create pressure and no rock or item hit the sunroof. As you can see from the photos, there is very little glass inside the car and the majority of it exploded up and out from the car and the shape of the glass pointing upwards, indicates the explosion was from the inside of the car, to the outside. Despite the upheaval in the car , we were able to navigate the car safely off the highway. We were in contact with Hyundai corporate (Case number XXX) and they have denied to accept responsibility for this design issue. We have seen numerous incidences of this online for exploding sunroofs on Hyundai Palisades. Our local Hyundai dealership inspected the sunroof and took record of the broken sunroof but they have denied to accept responsibility. We have filed a claim through Safeco insurance (Claim #XXX) and got the sunroof replaced through insurance. I have sent a case to Safeco for Subrogation for them to reclaim costs for Hyundai. We feel this is a significant design issue and will potentially cause other accidents in the future. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

At about 60,200 miles, my check engine light went off and I took it to the dealer. They told me all my fuel injectors were failing and I had to replace those to include the spark plugs. I understand there is a current class action lawsuit for similar Hyundai vehicles but does not include the Palisade.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked for nine hours unattended in the middle of the night; it caught fire. No warning lights were illuminated before the fire. The vehicle was taken to an unknown local dealer two weeks prior for a recall repair and oil change. While her husband was extinguishing the fire, he sustained burns to his arms and face, but medical attention was not provided. Additionally, part of the home was burned. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. There was no police report filed, no air bag deployment, or crash. The vehicle was towed to a storage facility by the insurance company. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

The engine is burning oil at a rate that is unreasonable. When the oil level is low, there is no oil light indicator to show that the car is low on oil. My safety is being put at risk because the engine could seize up at any moment and may have slow or no acceleration. I caught the low oil problem just in time because i have a child who was aware of what the issue was with the car. I have had normal oil changes. This is a known issue in Hyundai's and these vehicles need to be repaired/replaced. The care will be inspected by a Hyundai dealership.

Upon returning from vacation, we found our moonroof had shattered. The vehicle was sitting in a parking garage at Logan airport in Boston for 7 days, with no evidence of any cause. The entirety of the glass was shattered and bowed up towards the center as if popping under tension. If the sunshade were open, shards of glass would have fallen upon myself and three children in the car. The description appears to match several other similar events described by other owners in previous NHTSA reports as well as online message boards.

As I was driving on the freeway the sun roof spontaneously exploded. Nothing hit the vehicle, there were no cars or trucks around me tossing debris and I was not under an overpass. Temperature was around 55 degrees, it was raining off and on throughput the day, not raining at the time of the incident.

Driving on a highway on 1/13/2023 and suddenly the sunroof exploded! It sounded just like a gunshot when it happened. Nothing at all hit the vehicle or sunroof, just a spontaneous explosion with glass going everywhere. Luckily there were no injuries to the driver from falling glass and we did not go into oncoming traffic on a two lane highway. It was extremely startling! This car only has about 8,000 miles on it, we bought it new in November 2021. I contacted the dealer where it was purchased. Fortunately they saw fit to repair it free of charge to us, and provide us with a loaner car.

SUSPENSION
13 complaints
Rear suspension has continued to have issues. First noticed after about 20,000 miles. A clunk and gurgling sound in rear. Took to local dealership and they didn’t do anything about it. Took again at 35,000 miles and was ignored again. 42,000 the dealership finally listened and replaced rear shock insulation, problem persisted but was a little more muted. 48,860 miles took it to another dealership and they replaced both rear shocks reporting them both as leaky rear shocks. Now at 70,000 all previous symptoms are back and louder than before.
Dec 04, 2025
The shocks on my 2022 Hyundai Palisade are defective. I had both shocks and the absorbers replaced the first time at 44,349 miles on 5/31/25. I had the driver side rear shock and absorber replaced again at 46,567 miles on 7/24/25. I am having the same driver side rear shock replaced again at 48,484 miles on 10/3/25. Defective shocks are a safety hazard by increasing stopping distance and reducing traction in inclement weather conditions. They also cause uneven wear on my tires, which reduces traction, too. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This is a well known problem that Hyundai has failed to correct. I believe they are just making repairs as necessary until the vehicle is no longer under warranty. I have the receipts from the dealer for each repair.

Repeated rear suspension failures on cars with self leveling suspension. I will be having my 4th set installed in 3 years. Rear suspension failure leads to unpredictable cornering and possible accident in and emergency maneuver. Hyundai has stated that there is no issue to warrant a recall or TSB. Child safety lock failure. Child safety locks click on and off continuously for 20 - 40 seconds. After the lock stops doing this, the following message appears on dashboard: "Child safety lock failure". This occurs randomly and can occur while driving or parked. Frequency has increased since it first started occurring.
Oct 23, 2024
Random clicking noise coming from the doors and a relay clicking noise coming from under the glove box followed by a Child Safety Lock Failure error message on the instrument cluster. This results in the doors being able to be opened while the vehicle is in drive
Sep 01, 2024
During normal course of driving, child safety lock begins clicking. At random times for a varied amount of time between 5 seconds to 20 seconds. I can turn off the clicking by turning off the child safety lock. If I turn back on the child safety lock, the clicking may or may not resume. This is being documented on some online forums with others experiencing the same. Our safety has yet to be tested with this issue as my son is harnessed in and is only [XXX] old, but we are about to move into a booster seat. I am concerned he may be grown enough to have better access to the door and its settings with us moving him into his next seat size. The dealer has confirmed the problem and changed the "child lock switch" but the issue returned within a week. Just before turning in the car to the dealership for fixing this (later to be found unsuccessful), the child safety lock failed to a level where it triggered a dashboard warning about it. Since the "switch" has been replaced I have not seen a warning notification on the dashboard. This has been an ongoing issue for a couple of years now. Child window lock button problems. At times when the child window lock button is depressed the car cycles through the locking sound. Happens repeatedly and the only way to turn it off is to turn off the child window lock safety feature.
Oct 12, 2023
Child safety locks fail more frequently than they work. At any given time the locks star making a rapid clicking sound and then a “child safety lock malfunction” message appears on the dash. I have three young children who can reach the window buttons and handles while buckled putting our safety at risk when majority of the time this safety feature malfunctions. This has been on going for months but is getting rapidly more frequent.

1/28/2026 Son was driving in a parking lot when all of a sudden, with no prior warning signs, the steering wheel locked up and he could not turn. Fortunately he was able to stop the vehicle; otherwise, it would have hit into other cars and he could have been injured. And fortunately this did not take place on a freeway. Hyundai service center located DCTS: C168806, C168886, and C240162. Replaced MPDS motor and ECU.

Rear self leveling shocks need to be replaced for the third time in two years.
Oct 01, 2025
Vechicle pulls to the right. This issue was noticed after the right side passenger tire was worn on the outside which normally indicates an alignment issue. Owner replaced all four tires and has a fron end alignment done at the same time. This issue continues and the Hyundai dealer is stating that there is not fix for this issue. Information available online indicates that there is a possible issue where the Steering Torque needs to be set to zero. This is a safety concern as the vechicle will go off the road.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the RPM' increased quickly; however, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the failure persisted. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the transmission. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, who again diagnosed a failure with the transmission, informing the contact that the transmission needed to be replaced again. The vehicle was repaired. I’m Filing a complaint regarding Recall 26V034 (Hyundai Recall 292). The manufacturer and dealership are failing to provide the alternative transportation/rental reimbursement guaranteed in the 'Remedy Not Available' dealer notification filed with the NHTSA. My vehicle is currently grounded at the dealership due to safety concerns regarding the Ejection Mitigation Recall, for which no remedy is yet available. Hyundai's own policy (dated Jan 23, 2026) states that dealers will offer rentals to interested customers until a remedy is available. I grounded my palisade because I felt it was unsafe to put my 3 young children in, got a rental with out own money, and am now being denied rental reimbursement. I have also had other recall work done on my vehicle while it has been grounded, and still i’m denied rental reimbursement.

The airbag light came on and we took it in. The dealership reported that the airbag module has failed. This is a safety concern since this is not a common issue for cars to have unless its an older car, its been in an accident or moisture. We park the car inside a garage overnight every night. The light has been on for a few months and the dealership (Dean Team Hyundai in Ballwin, MO) confirmed the issued was the airbag module.
Oct 27, 2025
The vehicle is equipped with an Occupant Classification System that automatically turns the air bags off for the front passenger seat, if an adult sized passenger is not detected. There is no way to override this. My significant other is a normal sized adult woman. Normally when she is seated directly on the seat, the air bag does not turn off. However, medical issues with her lower back and sciatic joint require her to sit on a padded cushion when traveling. With this cushion on the passenger seat, the air bags turn off. The concern is that if we were to experience a collision, she would not be protected with the air bags. I asked the dealer if they could reprogram this. They advised that they are not equipped to do so, and are also prohibited by law from doing so.

SEATS

The 3rd row power seats do not always recognize something or someone sitting there and will continue to fold down. After seeing the reports of a little girl passing away we wanted to test our 3rd row power seats. We placed a car seat in the 3rd row and it did recognize that and stopped folding. Next, I sat in the seat and my husband pushed the fold button and it kept trying to fold down on me until I pushed back with a good amount of force, a child would not be able to prevent the chair from stopping. Last, we placed a large stuffed animal and buckled it in and hit the power button and it completely folded down on top of it. I have reached out to my local dealership 4/16 and had a service advisor confirm my car to be impacted by this problem. They did offer a loaner car until there was a remedy in place. This issue does not currently show up on a list of recalls however which is very concerning.

In my 2022 Hyundai palisade calligraphy AWD, the third row power fold seats did not stop upon closing while testing it out on water bottles. It completely shut over two gallon jugs of distilled water, as well as a case of water. I believe there are more vehicles that this 3rd row power fold recall should branch over, and is not. So many children and animals are at risk and are not aware.

I tested the 3rd row in my Palisade Calligraphy 2022 after a death of a little girl happened in a 2026 model. I placed a case of water bottles in the seat, where my children have ridden so many times before on trips. Watched the seat go down, not one time did the sensor trigger. The water bottles were crushed. This is terrifying findings. It means its not just Hyundais 2026 problems, this is much bigger of an issue. Please please please look into this.
Mar 27, 2026
The third-row power seat fails to detect obstructions and continues closing under resistance, even when encountering large objects such as a fully loaded backpack. The seat does not stop or reverse, indicating a failure of the obstruction detection / anti-pinch safety feature. This creates a crushing hazard to passengers, including children. A fatal incident involving a similar seat malfunction in the same make and model has been reported. The problem persists whenever the seat is operated, and the malfunction has been documented on video. Although the vehicle has not been inspected by a dealership, Hyundai Consumer Affairs has been provided with video evidence. They have suggested further inspection, but no engineering-level evaluation of this safety issue has been completed. The seat continues to close under resistance and does not stop or reverse. The failure of the seat’s obstruction detection system creates a significant crushing hazard. Although no injury has occurred in my vehicle, the reported fatal incident involving the same defect shows the potential for serious injury or death. Video evidence demonstrating the seat malfunction is available. All correspondence with Hyundai Consumer Affairs documenting attempts to resolve this issue can be provided upon request.

This same incident has happened twice, June of 2025 and more recently March of 2026. My vehicle will essentially have no oil left causing my car to shake while breaking and eventually the car stalls out. The first time this occurred, my vehicle stalled out in the highway and again at a 4 way stop sign. I took it to the Hyundai dealership where an oil change, oil plug and oil filter was replaced. In December of 2025, I noticed oil leaking from my vehicle, where the oil house filter was deemed the issue and was replaced. March of 2026, my car started to shake and eventually stall out again and this prompted me to check my oil levels where there was little to no oil. An oil consumption test was performed and it was noted my car is consuming 0.5 quarts of oil per 1,000 miles. Per Hyundai, this does not meet the oil consumption warranty (1 quart per 1,000 miles) and there is nothing to do for this issue at this time. My concerns are that this issue arises prior to my next recommended oil change. Also, there are no warning signs that prompt me that my oil is actually low; no dashboard warnings or notifications. I really only know this problem is occurring when my vehicle physically shows signs while I am driving. I am frustrated with this as I have to refill oil in between oil changes but also pay for the oil changes. Also, it worries me for the safety of my family while we are driving this vehicle.

While driving, the vehicle intermittently loses engine power without warning. The loss of power occurs at normal driving speeds and during acceleration, creating an unsafe condition in traffic. When the issue occurs, the vehicle hesitates and fails to respond to throttle input, making it unsafe to merge or maintain speed. The condition occurs intermittently and does not consistently trigger warning lights or diagnostic trouble codes. Despite the absence of warning lights or stored codes, the loss of power is clearly felt while driving and presents a serious safety concern. The issue has occurred multiple times and has not been permanently resolved despite prior service visits. The intermittent nature of the failure and lack of codes makes diagnosis difficult, but the problem continues to recur and affects the safe operation of the vehicle. This loss of power creates a risk of stalling or sudden deceleration while driving, increasing the likelihood of a collision, especially in traffic or at intersections. The issue appears related to the engine timing or powertrain system.

I am writing to formally report a significant safety concern involving my 2022 Hyundai Palisade, specifically related to the radiator and coolant system. In November 2024, I experienced issues indicative of a coolant leak, including engine overheating warnings and noticeable coolant odors. Upon investigation, I discovered that Hyundai had issued Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) #23-EM-003H on August 3, 2023, acknowledging that certain 2020–2022 Palisade models may exhibit a slight coolant leak at the radiator. Despite this acknowledgment, Hyundai has not initiated a recall, leaving many consumers, including myself, vulnerable to potential engine damage and safety risks. Furthermore, numerous complaints have been filed by other 2022 Palisade owners reporting similar issues: •One owner reported an engine overheat warning while parked, followed by a strong coolant smell and visible coolant leakage. The dealership diagnosed a cracked radiator. •Another owner experienced coolant odor inside the vehicle and was informed by the dealer of tiny pinholes in the radiator, necessitating a replacement that was delayed due to high demand. These incidents highlight a pattern of radiator failures that pose a risk of engine overheating and potential safety hazards. The lack of a formal recall or widespread notification to owners exacerbates the issue, as many may be unaware of the potential danger. Given the severity and frequency of these problems, I urge the NHTSA to: 1.Initiate a formal investigation into the radiator and coolant system defects in 2020–2022 Hyundai Palisade models. 2.Assess whether Hyundai’s current measures are sufficient to address the safety risks associated with these defects. 3.Consider mandating a recall to ensure affected vehicles are promptly and effectively repaired. I appreciate your attention to this matter and your commitment to vehicle safety.

The vehicle has multiple unresolved safety recalls involving the seatbelt system and the airbag system (ejection mitigation/side curtain airbags). These are critical occupant protection systems that are designed to protect passengers during a crash. There is a risk that seatbelts may not properly restrain occupants and that airbags may not deploy or function correctly. I regularly transport 3–4 children in this vehicle and do not feel it is safe to operate under these conditions. These issues have been confirmed by the manufacturer through official safety recalls. The dealership has acknowledged the recalls; however, at least one recall (airbag/ejection mitigation) currently has no available remedy or timeline for repair. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealership, which confirmed the recalls. I have also been in communication with Hyundai Motor America regarding these issues. The seatbelt buckle does not consistently latch properly. When attempting to fasten the seatbelt, it repeatedly clicks without securing, and at times it does not lock at all, creating a risk that the occupant may not be properly restrained. I contacted both the dealership and Hyundai Motor America to request a safe alternative while waiting for repairs. The dealership offered a loaner vehicle that does not accommodate my family size. Hyundai has not approved rental reimbursement or provided a suitable alternative vehicle. As a result, I do not currently have access to a safe and practical transportation solution while these safety recalls remain unresolved.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

The system that has the issue is the emergency braking system. The brakes of the car have engaged automatically at highway speeds more than 5 times. This has put the safety of the individuals in my car at risk as well as the cars around me because the cars behind me then got way to close because of my vehicle breaking. It is also very jarring for the driver and could make the driver make the driver swerve thinking there is someone getting too close. The emergency braking lights flash on the dash when this happens. I am waiting to get an appointment with the dealer.

This vehicle is equipped with a forward collision alert system, which did not activate and warn me. As a result a traffic accident occurred where I rear-ended a vehicle in front of me. Vehicle sustained 8000 dollars in damages and is currently being repaired. There were no visible notifications, no alarms of any kind prior to impact. Component was not inspected by the manufacturer. In this scenario, a vehicle in front was stopped at a stop sign, started proceeding forward, I followed, but did not notice them stop again, resulting in a rear-end collision. I was traveling under 25mph (which should be sufficient for the system to work), however as stated before, no alerts were activated.

I was driving along the feeder road entering the on-ramp of the highway, going about 45 mph, when I heard a loud explosion coming from inside my vehicle. I was obviously startled and my first thought was maybe my kids left a soda bottle in the car and the pressure caused the bottle to explode. It was then I noticed broken glass all over the interior of my vehicle, as well as on my person. It was a clear, sunny day, about 75 degrees, so no extreme weather. There were no vehicles ahead of me, behind me or on either side of me. When I got to a stopping point, I searched my vehicle thoroughly thinking something must have come through the glass and shattered it. But I found nothing in my vehicle that would have come from outside and caused this to happen. While taking photos of everything, I noticed the glass that was left appeared to be bowed upwards instead of inward. It was then I realized whatever happened did not come from outside of my vehicle. I started looking things up online and realized the "exploding sunroof" was actually a very common issue happening to many other people's vehicles. Why a recall on this serious safety issue has not been issued is baffling. I could have been in an accident due to the startling nature of the incident, I could have been cut with shards of glass. Thank God my children were not in the car with me at the time as most of the glass went to the back seats where they would have been sitting. Prior to this happening there were no issues with my sunroof and no obvious warning signs of its impending explosion. I truly hope a recall is issued soon before someone is seriously injured, or worse.

My wife and I were driving on I-81 south of Front Royal, Virginia on 10 October 2023 when our sunroof shattered. Temperatures were mild at the time and we were traveling at normal highway speeds. Nothing impacted the vehicle and there was no warning before the sunroof broke. This is the second time this has happened in this vehicle, the first time having been repaired under warranty by a local dealer. This time we were fortunate to have the sunshade closed so no glass got in the vehicle and we were not injured unlike last time. My wife held the sunshade closed and we managed to pull over safely. We found a car wash and vacuumed as much of the glass as we could and jury rigged a cover out of cardboard and duct tape so we could proceed on our trip. We are now contacting an attorney.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report a serious safety issue involving my Hyundai Palisade related to brake failure. While driving my Hyundai Palisade, I experienced a situation where pressing the brake pedal resulted in little to no braking response. The vehicle did not slow or stop as expected, creating an extremely dangerous situation and a significant risk of collision. This occurred without warning, and the brake pedal did not provide normal resistance or stopping power. This issue appears to be intermittent, which makes it difficult to predict or reproduce, but it has occurred more than once. Based on my experience and reports from other Hyundai Palisade owners, this may be related to a malfunction of the braking or ABS system. The lack of reliable braking response presents a serious safety hazard to drivers, passengers, and others on the road. I am concerned that this issue could result in a crash, injury, or worse if not addressed promptly. I am requesting that this complaint be formally recorded and that the brake system on Hyundai Palisade vehicles be thoroughly investigated. If applicable, I also request information regarding any known technical service bulletins, software updates, or recalls related to this issue. While driving at normal speed, my 2022 Hyundai Palisade suddenly lost power without warning. Multiple warning icons appeared on the dashboard at the same time. The vehicle immediately slowed down and became unsafe to operate. After pulling over, the vehicle would not restart and had to be towed. This created a dangerous situation on the roadway. I am reporting this because I wonder if other owners may have experienced similar sudden power-loss events with this model year. It was fortunate that I was on a secondary road and not on the highway when this happened because it could have resulted in fatalities.

My 2022 Hyundai Palisade has repeatedly shut off while coming to a stop. The vehicle stalls unexpectedly, dashboard lights illuminate as if the vehicle is being restarted, and the gear sometimes shifts into neutral. I have to manually restart the car to resume driving. This issue has occurred multiple times under normal driving conditions—both when the Idle Stop & Go (ISG) system is enabled and disabled. The frequency of these stalls has increased, and they present a dangerous situation, especially at intersections or during heavy traffic. After researching online, I found that numerous 2020–2022 Palisade owners have reported the same symptoms. Many of them were told by their dealers that an ECU and/or TCU software update was needed. This suggests a broader systemic issue with the vehicle’s powertrain management system, which should warrant further investigation. As of now, no recall has been issued, but this is a recurring issue that poses a risk to driver and passenger safety. Hyundai has not officially acknowledged a recall or permanent fix, but affected vehicles are being patched with software updates at the dealer level.

In April 2022, we purchased a new 2022 Hyundai Palisade from a dealership due to persistent issues with our previous Hyundai Santa Fe, which had ongoing engine problems and recalls. After multiple unsuccessful repairs and software updates on the Santa Fe, we decided to trade it in for the Palisade. Since the purchase, the Palisade has undergone over ten warranty-related repairs. In early 2023, an oil consumption test revealed significant warranty concerns, leading the dealership to keep the vehicle for additional diagnostics. This process lasted nine months and included a full engine replacement. During this time, my husband filed a complaint with Hyundai Corporate, seeking a lemon law buyback or an equivalent trade-in. Hyundai Corporate denied our request, stating that we did not qualify under the lemon law and refusing to buy back or offer a fair trade-in for the vehicle. In June 2024, after nearly a year of repairs, we retrieved the vehicle, only to experience severe issues shortly afterward. The Palisade began jerking and shaking on the highway, and the check engine light came on. The dealership identified a faulty mass air flow sensor and ordered parts for its repair. They assured us it was safe to drive until the repair was completed. However, the next day, the vehicle displayed the same issues. A diagnostic at Auto Zone revealed problems with both the air flow sensor and the fuel injector, indicating unsafe driving conditions. We returned the vehicle to Hyundai College Station, where we received a loaner car while they conducted repairs. During this period, we were informed of a "computer digital data hack" that prevented the dealership from providing documentation of the services performed. When we picked up the Palisade, we were told that only the mass air flow sensor had been repaired, with no work done on the fuel injector or other issues. Currently our vehicle exhibited engine defaults and the engine light came on. It is at Principle Hyundai for repairs

We bought a Hyundai palisade from them. And as a military family we travel and are placed at different duty stations. When we bought the Hyundai palisade, we also got the bill Navarre warranty, it was our fault for not reading every line about the warranty. The Hyundai palisade is a 2022, sadly the brakes started acting like they were not working. We called them and were told that if we use the warranty anywhere other than at that location, we will lose the warranty and since we had been stationed elsewhere since buying the vehicle, we were stuck on what to do. We had to drive the vehicle risking our lives daily, pump the brakes 5-6 times for it to stop. until we could take it back to that location. We took the vehicle in and just as we thought the brakes were bad due to the master cylinder going out. We were given a small rental that the whole family couldn't fit in, we could have gotten a bigger vehicle if we paid the difference. While we waited on them to get the part in. While waiting we were notified that they crashed the vehicle, we are glad they told us, but the damage is done, and the vehicle will lose some of its value. They gave us a small SUV again so small our whole family can't fit in it. We are so upset with Hyundai and Bill Navarre. We have to sit now and reach out to consumer affairs, Hyundai and the BBB as well as the military because none of this is right. It's not right that people buy a vehicle and when something goes wrong due to the auto makers neglect that we have to suffer for it. Just read everything and be aware because Hyundai and the car dealerships don't care about your safety. Social media will be given notice. We took the car in to them on 11/20/2023 and we are not sure what day they wreck the vehicle, but we found out on 11/27/2023. Who is going to give us the difference of what our vehicle is worth and how do we feel safe getting back into an almost new car that the brakes went out in?

Hyundai has failed to remedy recall 235 within a reasonable amount of time, and is misreporting the stats of completed repairs related to this recall. They state that owner notification letters and dealer instructions were mailed May 2023 and that "dealers will install a new fuse and wire extension kit, as necessary, free of charge." Yet, the dealerships I've contacted do not have the replacement parts and have not been able to repair my vehicle despite many inquiries. I have inquired with Hyundai USA about this permanent recall remedy and they have been unable to assist. They refer me back to the dealership, and the dealership refers me back to Hyundai USA with no remedy in site. The quarterly report stats are misleading, as my car and others have had this recall marked as "completed" when in fact only the inspection and interim fix to remove the 40A fuse was completed, not the permanent fix they claimed to have ready in May 2023. All the interim fix did was disable the power supplied to the tow hitch, so brakes and turn signals will not function on trailers, which is a road hazard. This is not a repair, it renders your tow hitch inoperable in a safe manner. While Hyundai USA reported to NHTSA back in May 2023 that they had a permanent fix including a replacement 15A fuse and new wire harness parts available, it is just not accurate. It is over a year since they publicly announced the tow hitch harness recall 235 and more than 5 months since they announced the permanent repair, yet any dealership I contacted was unable to perform the repair and said they were not supplied with the recall replacement parts. No alternative recall remedies have been given either. This recall needs to be remedied in actuality, not just on a piece of paper. So many owners like myself have exhausted means of contacting Hyundai, yet are still left with an unrepaired recall. It is unsafe and deplorable that they are publicly releasing inaccurate recall data in their favor.

The steering wheel on the vehicle would immediately rotate about 10 degrees to the right after starting the vehicle. The steering wheel would then remain in this cocked right position. When driving, the car would pull very hard to the right when letting go of the steering wheel, even following an alignment. This also resulted in the steering wheel being very difficult to turn to the left vs the right. Additionally, this would cause the vehicle to track dangerously close to the right lane lines on the highway when using the lane keep assist feature and forced the driver to consistently pull the steering wheel to the left to track the vehicle straight. I took it to an independent service center for alignment which didn’t correct the issue. I then took it to my local Hyundai dealership for rectification. They recalibrated the steering angle sensor and torque sensor. This corrected the cocked right position of the steering wheel. It improved but did not fully get rid of the right pull and difficulty in turning the steering wheel to the left. I was forced to pay $195 for the steering calibration on a certified pre owned vehicle with just over 10,000 miles on it.

The Lane Departure and Lane Keeping Assist to not operate correctly because the car veers to the right. I have had the car serviced twice within one week of purchasing and there is no fix from the dealer nor Hyundai. This issue was apparent within minutes of first driving the car, there are no warning lights. The alignment is out of spec but cannot be corrected by the dealer. The cause is reported as an issue with the steering angle sensor.

I am reporting a deliberate misrepresentation of vehicle status regarding Recall 292. On April 9, 2026, I brought my vehicle to Bud Clary Auburn Hyundai, for recall services, a safety concern with the 3rd row seat. I was told recall 292 had no remedy. I did not feel comfortable putting my kids back there knowing the airbags are recalled. It was officially grounded due to the side curtain airbag safety defect. The dealership has generated a Repair Order (RO) that falsely claims I departed in the vehicle on that same day. This is a material misrepresentation of fact. The vehicle was not released to me; it remained grounded and in the dealership's physical possession because it was deemed unsafe to drive. Evidence of Falsification: The dealership's claim that I left in the vehicle is physically impossible and contradicts their own actions. I have a written email from the Service Manager acknowledging that a dealership employee personally drove me home on April 9th because the vehicle was grounded. Motivation and Impact: This falsification appears to be a bad-faith attempt to manipulate the "days out of service" count required for eligibility under the Washington State Lemon Law. By documenting a departure that never occurred, the dealer is attempting to "stop the clock" on a safety-related grounding. Reporting inaccurate possession data on a vehicle under a federal safety recall compromises the integrity of the NHTSA’s recall tracking system.

I am writing to report a compliance issue regarding Hyundai Recall 292 (NHTSA 26V-034). My vehicle has been grounded due to the safety risks outlined in this recall (specifically the failure of side curtain airbags to meet ejection mitigation standards for third-row occupants). Despite the vehicle being rendered unusable for safe transport, Hyundai is refusing to provide or reimburse a rental vehicle. This is a direct contradiction to the Reimbursement Plan submitted by Hyundai to the NHTSA on March 2, 2026, which states that the manufacturer will provide owners of affected vehicles reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses incurred to obtain a remedy for the recall condition. Since a final remedy is currently "Not Available," the only interim "remedy" to ensure occupant safety is to provide a rental vehicle. By grounding the vehicle but refusing to cover alternate transportation, Hyundai is effectively forcing owners to continue driving an unsafe vehicle or incur significant financial hardship, which undermines the entire purpose of the safety recall. I request that the NHTSA investigate Hyundai’s refusal to honor its reimbursement commitments for grounded vehicles under Recall 292 and ensure that all affected owners are provided with safe, manufacturer-covered transportation until a permanent fix is installed.

Within months of purchase, I reported to James Wood Hyundai in Decatur that my children were repeatedly becoming unbuckled in the rear bucket seats. I was told the seatbelts were fine yet I continued raising this concern at multiple service visits because the issue persisted. This was an ongoing safety problem not an isolated complaint. Years later, Hyundai issued a recall for this exact defect. I promptly contacted the nearest dealership to schedule repairs and explained that this concern has been documented since shortly after purchase. I was informed repairs would be delayed several weeks because Enterprise fleet vehicles were being prioritized and was told I am the “only person” experiencing this issue a statement that conflicts with a formal safety recall. Enterprise cannot legally rent vehicles with open safety recalls due to safety concerns, yet I am expected to transport my children in a vehicle with known defective rear seatbelts. Now there is another recall regarding passenger safety in the third row with no remedy so my children have no safe seat to use in my car. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
1 complaint
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle shuddered and jerked significantly. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, a message advising of an unknown error was displayed. The contact stated that the check engine warning light started flashing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, and the dealer performed approximately four oil consumption tests and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the engine; however, the engine failures persisted. The contact stated that the vehicle jerked while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the failure was related to the cold weather. The dealer replaced the spark plugs; however, the jerking failure increased while driving, and the vehicle felt as if the vehicle was going to stall. Additionally, the vehicle was experiencing excessive coolant consumption. The contact stated the message "Engine Overheating" was displayed while driving. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road for an hour, and coolant was added to the coolant reservoir. The vehicle was driven to the dealer at slow speeds on the expressway, but the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle could not be serviced, and the contact was advised that the vehicle could be driven to the residence because coolant was added to the vehicle. The vehicle was driven and parked at the residence. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was awaiting a call back. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

The first incident, my SUV failed to start, per Roadside Assistance, I replaced the battery. No diagnostic testing done. On 12/26/25 my SUV STOPPED COLD while driving. Red battery light and other warning indicators on dashboard lit up. Radio went dead; loss of steering assist; loss of vehicle power; dashboard went black and SUV SHUT DOWN. It would not start again. Towed to Hyundai for diagnostic test. I leave my home at 4:30 a.m. every morning driving 30 miles on the beltway to work. Imagine the danger, Stopping Cold on the beltway, in the dark alone with no power for emergency lights to warn approaching traffic of the danger. I travel with my family in my SUV on the beltway daily. I no longer trust this vehicle, and I’ve requested to be reimbursed; my vehicle is my livelihood and it’s my life and the lives of my family each day that I get into this SUV. SUV is paid off. Rockville Hyundai’s finding was a faulty alternator and battery. The original battery was in the SUV with the first incident, still I’m terrified to drive this SUV. I researched possible causes for my SUV performing in this manner and my research yielded, and I quote:  “Electronic troubles with the 2022 Palisade Calligraphy often involve dashboard warning lights, driver-assist malfunctions, instrument cluster failures, and even engine shutdowns, frequently linked to issues like a faulty alternator, low battery voltage, or problems with the instrument cluster itself (Recalls), with some owners reporting dangerous situations like loss of steering assist or vehicle power loss on the highway.” On 1/6/26 on the beltway, the battery light and other warning indicators lit up; radio went dead, all warning indicators on the dashboard lit up; experienced loss of steering assist; and the dashboard went black instantly. I reached home, and parked; lights on the dashboard came back on, and I turned the engine off. On 1/7/26 I drove to Hyundai for another diagnostic test. 1/21/26 SUV still in service.

I went to stop at an intersection, and the car started vibrating, the antilock blocks engaged, but it would not slow the car down, depressing the brakes further would not cause the car to slow down, and I had to swerve off the road to keep from hitting the car in front of me. The power steering seem to be affected because the steering wheel was vibrating, and it was hard to steer it off the road to prevent a collision. The road was smooth, and there did not seem to be any apparent reason for whatever malfunction was going on.

My car was making a rattling noise from the engine and would stutter at a stop and sometimes kick into park or turn off. No warning lights would turn on, on the dash board warning i was low on oil. The back passenger brake light warning light turned on. The Third seat middle seatbelt does not lock. I took into Hyundai to get it serviced and I had to pay for my car to be put on a diagnostic test. I was told I was low on oil. I never had any warning lights go on, on my Dashboard. My motor could have blown out. The only warning light I got was my back light is out. I never had any warning signal go on my dashboard saying my seatbelt doesn’t lock. I had it serviced 2025 and again the same back tail light is out. I have kept my vehicle maintenance up to date. I am going to have to schedule another appointment for my back tail light ( same side) to get repaired

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that when the vehicle it was purchased, the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V633000 (Trailer Hitches) and was repaired. The contact stated that after the recall repair was completed, the radiator suddenly failed, and the vehicle would overheat, and the heater failed to operate as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the radiator had failed and needed to be replaced. The radiator was replaced. After having the repair completed, the vehicle would shake while accelerating and driving at various speeds. The contact stated that failure mostly occurred while the transmission was shifting into 2nd gear. The contact stated that engine was overheating and the coolant reservoir needed to be refilled every day. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Tasca Central Avenue Hyundai (111 S Central Ave, Hartsdale, NY 10530); and it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission was slipping and needed to be repaired. The vehicle was returned to the first dealer who diagnosed that the coolant hose had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact retrieved the vehicle from the dealer, and the transmission warning light was illuminated. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

I am writing to formally submit a complaint regarding multiple ongoing and serious issues with my 2022 Hyundai Palisade. These issues not only diminish the performance and reliability of the vehicle but also raise significant safety and quality concerns. Below are the problems I have encountered: 1.Thermostat and Coolant System Defects: Like many other owners of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade, I have experienced problems with the thermostat and coolant system. My vehicle has exhibited signs of overheating, posing risks to the engine’s longevity and safety. 2.Radiator Leak: I have identified a radiator leak, which is troubling for a relatively new vehicle. This suggests a defect in the materials or assembly, as this should not be occurring under normal operating conditions. 3.Oil Pan and Filter Housing Issues: •The oil pan has developed a crack, which is highly unusual, especially since Hyundai has performed all of my vehicle’s oil changes. This raises concerns about part quality and service handling. •Additionally, I have noticed oil leaking from the oil filter housing. This leak not only raises concerns about engine performance but also indicates a potential flaw in the design or installation of the oil filter system. 4.Faulty Sensors: My vehicle’s sensors frequently activate without any nearby objects or obstacles. These false alerts are a serious distraction while driving and undermine the effectiveness of the car’s safety features. 5.Key Fob Malfunctions: While driving, I have repeatedly encountered the “key not in vehicle” warning, despite the key being present inside the car. This issue is not only an inconvenience but also a potential safety risk if it disrupts the vehicle’s operations unexpectedly. The combination of these defects is unacceptable for a vehicle of this age and reputation. These problems suggest significant flaws in manufacturing, design, or maintenance practices that Hyundai should address immediately.

In Sept. of 2023 I had my routine maintenance on my vehicle, oil change.at Tempe Auto Nation Hyundai. My drivers side 3rd row headrest was not staying up and needed to be replaced. I also mentioned to my extremely rude service agent Jake that my vehicle also had oil dripping coming from under the rear. I allowed him to do the oil change but not the headrest. I transferred location to have my vehicle serviced to Camelback Hyundai. My headrest was replaced by Camelback Hyundai. I also mention the oil leak to my service rep. Steve. I was also told that the vehicle was given an inspection. That I would need tires soon. My vehicle didn’t have 25000 miles on it. I purchased the vehicle new. It was also pulling to the right. The pulling was so bad I purchase 4 new tires. Costing over $700. The next day I took the vehicle to get an alignment, only to find out that my shocks/ struts are completely bad and needed to be replaced. I researched the issue with my Hyundai Palisade to see if there had been any recalls. It appears Hyundai is aware of the issue with the defective shocks. I am very disappointed and angry in the amount of time and money this has cost me because of an issue that The Hyundai Corporation knew was occurring. They knew there was an issue with the headrest and also the shocks. Due to the defective shocks, I had to pay for new tires and alignment for a fairly new vehicle that had not reached 25000 miles and still under warranty. I would not have needed new tires so soon an alignment if Hyundai would have corrected the defective shocks.

The forward safety breaking in this model is going to kill someone, hopefully not me as I am careful to manually disable it every time I start the car. Otherwise it applies the breaks at dangerous moments. Most often it happens when trees overhang the road, sometimes it is overhead road signs. I am not always sure what the cause is but having my breaks applied hard in the middle of merging multi lane highways is most definitively dangerous. I understand that on the 2023 model this can be permanently disabled so I suspect Hyundai is well aware of the problem. This problem has occurred to me at least a dozen times, and as I said I try to be very careful to disable it everyone I start the car.

I was driving down a road with 50mph speed limit when a few of my dash lights began to come on and then go off. Then about 2minutes later, all the dash lights came on, my display screen went black, my power steering wheel froze up. I safely pulled over to a parking lot. Turned the car off. And it wouldn't start back up. I took it to the Jim Click Hyundai in Tucson to get it diagnosed. The alternator was diagnosed as faulty, therefore killing my battery. This is an extremely unsafe circumstance for my 2 year old car to be going through. I cannot believe that this happend. I had to pay for a new battery at the dealership. Now not even 2 months later... my car wouldn't start. I waited 10minutes, it turned on, but it looked like it did a factory reset. I will be contacting the dealership...again. But this must be looked into further. I can't believe a 2 year old car would be having these types of problems.

On January 21, 2024, I was driving the Palisade about 80 miles away from home when I got Engine Overheated message multiple times. The temperature gage would go up and to max then goes down multiple times. Finally it was discovered that the coolant was leaking. The vehicle had about 31,000 miles. It was supposedly inspected when after 30,000 on December 28, 2023. The car was towed to a nearby dealer. Since it was Sunday, I had to rent a car and went home. next day I called the dealer and was told the car would not be checked for another month at least. I was told to find other dealer in the area that can handle the inspection and fix if I wanted the car any sooner. I complained vehemently. I gave up and called other dealers in the area. Finally the same dealer called back and said that they have looked at the car it turned out there is technical bulletin for the issue. I was told to come down and get a loaner. I traveled to that location next day and picked up a loaner as my car is the only car we have. I talked to the dealer where the car was inspected last December and was told that service departments do not loo at TBS unless the owner raises an issue. I do not have access to TBS to check what's out there. This issue should not happen to consumers. Bulletins and recalls should be available publicly to all consumers to be aware of issues. I'm not sure where to go get TBS for my car. I found Hyundai's site for recalls. Nothing else. This should be addressed at the national level. Attached is a file that contains pictures of the coolant reservoir, at the beginning, after adding more coolant, then at end when it became clear coolant level is coming down.

The blind spot view monitor (which displays the blind spot view from the side camera in the cluster when operating the turn signal control) malfunctioned. I rely on this safety feature when changing lanes as an extra precaution, and having the blind spot view suddenly not display when its settings are turned on poses a safety risk. This problem persisted for roughly 24 hours on the date stated. I parked the car, turned it off and on several times, toggled the setting for it on and off but that did not resolve the issue. The vehicle did not have any warning indicting the blind spot view was not functioning properly and there were no other issues present. Oddly, the next evening, after being parked overnight, the blind spot view monitor was back to its proper display. Luckily, I captured a video of the issue which also shows that settings for the blind spot view monitor were on but that it would not display properly. Unfortunately, the dealer was unable to reproduce the problem, but they only drove it for a total of 12 miles in their possession. I'm uncertain what inspection or trouble-shooting they did. I'm reporting this issue since other Palisade owners have also experienced a similar intermittent problem with their blind spot view monitors. They also said it abruptly just starting working again, similar to what I experienced.

I had a "engine overheat" warning while I was parked. I checked and noticed the coolant level was low. So, I added coolant and the warning went away. I thought it was just a one-time thing. After a week, I parked my car while I went to pick up something at the store. My mother was in the car so I left the car running. When I came back, I noticed a very strong smell of coolant and saw the "engine overheat" warning again, the car was blowing hot air. I turned off the car and opened up the hood and saw coolant liquid was all over and also on the floor. I called Hyundai roadside assistance and they picked up the car after 5 hours of waiting. The next day, I called them and was told the radiator was cracked. It's been three days. I'm still waiting for their call.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving 45-65 MPH with the cruise control activated, the Lane Keep Assist and Highway Drive Assist features were inoperable, causing the vehicle to fail to decelerate while turning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no error codes were retrieved. The vehicle was then taken to Ontario Hyundai (1307 Kettering Dr Unit A, Ontario, CA 91761) where it was determined that the after-market rims and tires on the vehicle caused the failure. The contact was advised to take the vehicle back to the original dealer to have the rims and tires replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that they might buy back the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 150.

Was (thankfully) driving on a completely straight 2 lane highway when the collision avoidance system gave an error message to check it. My steering wheel became completely immobilized and couldn't be turned in either direction more than an inch or so. I eventually pulled off to the side of the road and restarted the car, which fixed the problem. I have since set the Memory settings for drivers 1 and 2 to omit using all of the lane minder/collision avoidance features in the hope that if they are just off entirely, the system won't malfunction and cause a wreck. Don't know what I would have done if we were on a curvy road with no breakdown lane nearby or if we were on the interstate.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving in snowy and freezing weather the windshield wipers became inoperable due to an accumulation of snow and ice at the bottom of the windshield. The driver had to open the hood to remove the ice in order to allow the wipers to function. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. Additionally, while driving the odor of antifreeze was present inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who informed that tiny pin holes were present in the radiator and that the radiator needed to be replaced; however, the part was on back order due to high demand. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 10,000.

Two days ago, my husband took our vehicle to the car wash. At the other end of the car wash, it was discovered that the closed panoramic sunroof was completely destroyed during the process. Shards of glass were everywhere. We have contacted Hyundai and they have told my husband there is no class action suit about this problem. Even though it is under warranty, as it is a 2022, they refuse to take responsibility to take care of the damages. I have found through my research, that this was a class action lawsuit, which was closed in 2017, but continues to be a very bad problem for not only Hyundai but many other vehicles using a particular type of glass. we are now unable to get the parts to repair it, as the glass company cannot get a part from Hyundai, and Hyundai refuses to comply comply.

The on-board computer does NOT record any errors & the dealership claims they can’t see the error (apparently the computer doesn’t record/store the errors). I have pictures & videos of the errors & reported to the manufacturer.
