TAKATA RECALL VIN: [XXX] I HAVE REPEATEDLY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP (SUBURBAN AUTO COLLECTION OF TROY - MICHIGAN) SUBURBAN MAZDA OF TROY FOR THE PAST 1-2 YEARS ASKING THEM TO CHECK AND SEE IF OUR VEHICLE IS ON THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL LIST AND THEY HAVE CONFIRMED EVERYTIME THAT IT WAS NOT. I CHECKED THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND CONFIRMED THAT THEIR IS AN ACTIVE RECALL ON THE AIRBAG FOR OUR CX-9. WE WERE NOT CALLED OR INFORMED (AS THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO). WE DID NOT RECEIVE THE PROPER NOTIFICATION FROM TAKATA OR THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP. OUR VEHICLE WAS EITHER APART OF THE RECALL FROM THE START OR IT WAS ADDED LATER WHEN THE RECALL WAS EXPANDED, HOWEVER WE NEVER RECEIVED ANYTHING TELLING US TO HAVE THE AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACED. MY BRAKES STARTED FEELING SPONGY BUT HARD TO PUSH WHEN I WOULD TRY TO COME TO A STOP. IT FELT AT TIMES LIKE MY CAR WASN'T GOING TO STOP. I STOPPED DRIVING IT AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED. AT THAT TIME, I LOST BRAKES COMPLETELY. THE BRAKE PEDDLE GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WHEN PRESSED. HOPEFULLY THE BOOSTER IS A BAD ONE.

I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. IT WORKS FOR AWHILE AND THEN STOPS WORKING. WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL THE BRAKE LIGHT MAY OR MY NOT COME ON AND THAT IS WHILE SITTING STILL OR WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING. I HAVE REPLACED THE SWITCH SEVERAL TIMES.

I WAS TAKING MY DAUGHTER TO HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MORNING WITH MY SON IN THE CAR AS WELL. IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE HIGH SCHOOL, I APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK. MY FOOT WAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WHEN THEY FINALLY CAUGHT BUT I WAS OUT IN THE LINE OF TRAFFIC AND LUCKILY NO ONE HIT ME AND INJURED MY SON OR MYSELF. AFTER REPLACING THE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS THAT DID NOT FIX THE SITUATION, I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH MAZDA CX-9 THAT WAS EVEN INVESTIGATED BY THE NHTSA WITHOUT HAVING A RECALL. HOW DOES SOMETHING SO CRITICAL IN THE SAFETY OF LIVES DOES NOT GENERATE A RECALL THAT THE NHTSA HAS SEEN REPEATED COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE WITHOUT ADVISING OR CARING ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE CONSUMERS AND OTHER DRIVERS. IT IS AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT MAZDA HAS NOT ADDRESSED OR CORRECTED.

HISSING SOUND WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED. PEDAL GETS REALLY HARD TO PUSH THEN IT GOES TO THE FLOOR WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE. IN A PANIC STOP IT FEELS THAT THE CAR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STOP. I AM TOLD THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAS FAILED. THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE IS APPROXIMATELY 138,000 MILES.

The contact owns a 2009 Mazda CX-9. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle made an abnormal sound. The contact stated the brake pads and rotors were replaced; however, the abnormal sound persisted. The contact called and informed the dealer of the issue however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V451000 (Suspension) as a possible solution for the failure; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

I RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT WATER MAY ENTER THE FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM BALL JOINT FITTINGS DURING DRIVING. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED SINCE RECEIVING A NOTICE IN SEPTEMBER 2015. THEY SAID PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND THEY WILL NOTIFY ME WHEN THEY ARE AVAILABLE.

THERE WAS FIRST A WHINING SOUND FROM THE TRANSMISSION ESPECIALLY DURING COASTING. IT PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE MAKING A METALLIC CLUNKING SOUND. DEALER SAYS IT IS A BAD TRANSFER CASE (PTU) WHICH IS NOT COVERED BY SSP92. OTHERWISE THIS REPAIR WOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETED BY MAZDA. REPAIR ESTIMATE IS $1315.

I HAVE MAINTAINED MY 2009 MAZDA CX9 TO DATE AND ONLY HAVE 48,000 MILES. I STARTED HEARING A WEIRD NOISE IN THE FRONT WHEEL (HUMMING) IT GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE . NOW MY MECHANIC TELLS ME THAT THE DIFFERENTIAL IS GOING. THIS HAS TO BE A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT DUE TO THE LOW MILEAGE AND THE UPKEEP OF THIS VEHICLE. ASSISTANCE WITH THIS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. IN ADDITION, I'VE LOOKED ONLINE AND SEE THAT OTHER OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE.

October 2021 purchase 2 Cooper Evolution H/T All-Season 245/60R18. With less than 8k miles, both tires developed deformities/bulging on upper sidewal/tread,line intersect, causing vehicle to shimmy. The dot #'s of both tires are up83 1LE 1021 . Tires have a 60k warranty. Cooper tires issues two safety recalls due to sidewall deformities on this tire model, same plant, but in a different sizes. February 26, 2021 cooper tires has issued yet another safety recall on this exact model tire but in a different size. The 2 cooper evolution HT tires seem to also have sidewall defects. I feel that the bulging tires are a safety hazard due to manufacturing defects. I would like to have my 245/60r18 cooper evolution as well as all of the other sizes of this model tire made by cooper, futher reviewed to the recall list

OIL AND COOLANT MIXED TOGETHER AND CAUSE ENGINE TO DIE WITH A SERVICE CODE OF P0016 WHICH MEANS PER THE DEALER THAT THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND HAD IT SERVICE BY MAZDA DEALERSHIP CONSISTENTLY. THIS IS COMMON ISSUE AND MAZDA MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE COVER THIS ISSUE FOR CUSTOMERS.

I PURCHASED A USED 2009 MAZDA CX-7 IN JUNE 2012. IN MAY 2014 MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE NEAREST AUTO SERVICE STATION WHICH WAS NOT A MAZDA DEALERSHIP AND THE ENGINE STOPPED WHEN THEY TRIED TO TURN IT ON. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A MAZDA DEALERSHIP AND HAD A QUOTE OF $8,000 BECAUSE I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. I PURCHASED A 5 YEAR/100,000MILES WARRANTY WITH AMERICAN GUARDIAN IN 2012 WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR. I FILED A CLAIM WITH AMERICAN GUARDIAN AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ENGINE FAIL FROM LACK OF OIL. I PRESENTED ALL MY OIL CHANGE RECEIPTS WHICH I HAD CHANGED EVERY 3 OR 4 MONTHS OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS. THE AUTO SERVICE COMPANY ALSO SENT OUT THEIR INSURANCE INSPECTOR TO INSPECT THE CAR TO SEE WHAT CAUSED THE ENGINE TO FAIL AND IF THEY WOULD BE LIABLE. THEIR REPORT STATED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN JUMPED WHICH CAUSE THE "CAM SHAFT RETARD" CODE. THE MECHANIC DID SHOW THIS CODE TO ME ON THEIR COMPUTER BEFORE THE CAR WAS TOWED TO MAZDA. I REACHED OUT TO MAZDA USA AND THEY CONCLUDED THAT THEY AGREED WITH AMERICAN GUARDIAN AND CANNOT HELP ME. NOW I'M LEFT WITH AN $8,000 BILL THAT NO ONE WANTS TO COVER. *JS

I WAS IN THE PARKING LOT LOOKING FOR A SPACE WHEN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF! RADIO WAS STILL ON. I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL ON THE VEHICLE EXCEPT FOR "GLIDING" TO THE PARKING SPOT AHEAD OF ME AND BRAKING. RE: MAZDA CORPORATE FILE NUMBER [XXX] I WANT TO MAKE A COMPLAINT THAT MAZDA USA AND FREMONT MAZDA DEALER DECLINED A VALID DEFECT REAR LED TAIL LIGHTS WHEN I EXERCISE IT THROUGH MAZDA FACTORY NEW CAR WARRANTY. I HAVE ALREADY CONTACT MAZDA CORPORATE FOR THIS DEFECT PROBLEM AND WORKED THROUGH THE LOCAL MAZDA DEALER (FREMONT MAZDA) TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. FREMONT MAZDA DISHONESTLY DECLINED THE VALID DEFECT PROBLEM AND WHEN I LATER TRYING TO SHOW THE DEFECT EVIDENCE (PICTURES) TO MAZDA USA, MAZDA USA CORPORATE CHOSE TO IGNORE ME AND CONCURRED WITH THE MAZDA DEALER'S DIAGNOSIS. EACH OF 2009 MAZDA CX-9 LED TAIL LIGHT HAS 12 LED PIXELS. EACH LED TAIL LIGHT HAS A FEW CROOKED LED PIXELS ARE DIM AND AIMED AT THE SKY AND GROUND BUT NOT TO THE TRAFFIC BEHIND. A DRIVER DIRECTLY BEHIND MY CX-9 ONLY CAN SEE ABOUT 2/3 LED PIXELS (8 OUT OF 12) AND THE OTHER LED PIXELS ARE DARK. THE CROOKED LED ARE LIT BUT YOU CAN ONLY SEE THAT DIRECTLY LOOKING DOWN FROM TOP OF THE CAR OR VICE VERSA. I BELIEVE THIS LED TAIL LIGHTS DEFECT IS A VALID SAFETY CONCERN. LED HAS A DISCRETE AND NARROW LIGHT PATTERN COMPARES TO THE INCANDESCENT BULBS. A GOOD SET OF LED TAIL LIGHT SHOULD HAVE ALL ITS PIXELS AIMED TO THE TRAFFIC BEHIND, NOT TO THE SKY AND GROUND. HOWEVER, MAZDA (BOTH THE DEALER AND USA CORPORATE) REFUSED TO TAKE MY CONCERN SERIOUSLY AND REFUSED TO WORK WITH THEIR CONSUMERS. I REASONABLY DOUBT THEY STRATEGICALLY WORK TOGETHER TO REJECT A VALID SAFETY CONCERN THAT MIGHT POTENTIALLY CAUSE MAZDA USA MORE TROUBLE DOWN THE ROAD. POSSIBLY THEY THINK I WILL WALK AWAY QUIETLY JUST BY REJECTING MY REQUEST. I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO PROVIDE THE PICTURES OF THE BAD LED PIXELS UPON REQUEST. The contact owns a 2009 Mazda CX9. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the hot engine temperature warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over and added coolant to the reservoir and waited for the engine to cool down. The warning light remained illuminated. The contact was concerned that the failure was related to the water pump on the vehicle not working as needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS OCCUPIED BY THE OWNER, A PASSENGER (WIFE), AND TWO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGES OF 8. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (OPEN ROAD MAZDA OF MORRISTOWN, 108 RIDGEDALE AVE, MORRISTOWN, NJ 07960) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE COST OF THE SUN ROOF. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO RECALL OR FAILURE BEING INVESTIGATED. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND PROVIDED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 125,000.

SO I WAS BACKING UP FROM A PARKING SPACE ON A SHOPPING CENTER AND MY BRAKE PEDAL ON MY MAZDA CX-9 DID NOT STOP IMMEDIATELY. DUE TO THIS PROBLEM I BUMP IN TO SOME ONE ELSE'S CAR. THE PEDAL HAS TURN SO HARD IT WAS DIFFICULT FOR FRACTIONS OF SECONDS TO KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. AFTER THE INCIDENT WITH HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL. I NOTICE BESIDE BEEN HARD IT STARTED MAKING A SQUEAKY NOICE AND ALSO LIKE AND AIR SOUND UNDER THE DASH BOARD. I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION AGAINS MAZDA FOR THEIR BRAKE BOOSTER ON THIS MODEL AND SURE ENOUGH, THAT'S WHAT IT WAS, I'M JUST SO BLESSED IT HAPPENS IN A PARKING LOT AND NOT ON THE FREEWAY. SO I CALLED MAZDA AND THEY SAID THEY WILL COVER THE PART BUT I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE WORK DONE TO THE VEHICLE. SO I DID A RESEARCH ON PRICING AND I FOUND OUT MAZDA IS CHARGING $269.00 FOR THE WOK DONE, SUPPOSEDLY THEM COVERING THE PART, AND OUTSIDE THAT IS JUST AROUND THE SAME PRICE ELSE WHERE. NOT ONLY THAT THEY DID NOT COVER EVERYTHING MOST LIKELY MY INSURANCE MAY GO UP AND TO ADD TO THE PROBLEM THEY WILL CHARGE ME FOR RENTING A CAR WHILE THEY FIX IT. THERE IS NO HELP WITH A PART THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS IN THE TIME FRAME OF THE YEAR OF THIS VEHICLES. AND IT WAS MANUFACTURE DEFECT.

SUV WOULD GO OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD OR HIGHWAY WHEN TRAVELING A HIGH SPEED. TOOK IT TO DEALER, THEY SAY THAT THEY FOUND OIL & WATER MIX IN THE ENGINE DUE TO WATER PUMP FAILURE, MULTIPLE SYMPTOMS WOULD OCCUR AS DUE TO THIS CONDITION. THIS ISSUE IS VERY SERIES, FIRST YOU GET NO INDICTION OF THE PROBLEM, NOT SURE WHY THE WATER PUMP FAILURE CAUSES WATER TO ENTER THE MOTOR AND MIX WITH OIL, IT MUST BE A MAZDA DESIGN PROBLEM, WHICH THEY SEEM TO KNOW ABOUT AND NEVER ISSUED A RECALL TO GET ALL THE CAR FIXED. IF YOU ARE DRIVING WITH YOUR FAMILY AT 50 MPE IN AN HIGHWAY THE CAR WILL JUST GO OFF AND YOU CAN GET IMPACTED AT THE REAR WITH VERY HORRIBLE CONSEQUENCES. WILL MAZDA ISSUE A RECALL FOR SUCH A SERIES ISSUE?

WHILE TRAVELING @ ABOUT 15 MPH MADE A RIGHT TURN UP A ONE WAY STREET, CAR MADE A LOUD THUMP SOUND AND LURCHED FORWARD. AT WHICH POINT THE CAR STOPPED AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE BACK OR FORWARD. EXITED VEHICLE TO FIND DRIVER SIDE WHEEL BROKE OFF AND MOVED FORWARD IN THE WHEEL WELL. MAZDA ROADSIDE WAS CALLED AND FLATBED SERVICE ARRANGED. CAR IS WELL MAINTAINED AND ONLY HAS 74,000 MILES. MAZDA NEEDS TO ACT QUICKLY ON THIS RECALL ISSUE BECAUSE SOME ONE IS GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KIILLED (DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS)

WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR I NOTED WITH THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE FRONT, WHEELS WHERE SQUEALING AND SKIRTING AS YOU TURN THE CORNER AT LOW SPEED, THEY SEEM TO WEAR QUICKLY AS WELL SINCE I'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE (2012) AND HAVE HAD THEM REPLACED TWICE AND REALIGNED, ALSO THE FOLLOWING YEAR AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, WHEN IT SNOWED FREQUENTLY, THE ABS LIGHT STAYED ON CONSTANTLY AND SEEMED TO FEEL REALLY GRITTY WHILE PUMPING THE BREAKS IN THE SNOW, CAUSING THE CAR NOT TO BREAK EVEN AT LOW SPEEDS, THERE IS A RATTLING EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE THAT BECAME ASSOCIATED AFTER THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON, WHICH IS ON TO THIS DAY ALONG WITH THE TCS LIGHT, THE TRANSFER CASE FAILED AND ALMOST CAUSED A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT IN 2014 AS IT BEGAN TO WHINE AND EVENTUALLY LOCKED UP ON ME AS I DROVE TO WORK, THE MECHANIC REPLACED BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS THINKING THAT IT WAS ALSO A PROBLEM BUT WHEN I TOWED IT BACK TO THEM HE CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS THE TRANSFER CASE, HE REPAIRED IT THIS YEAR BUT MAZDA SAYS ITS LEAKING AGAIN AND IT SMELLS LIKE OIL. MY CAR ONLY HAS A LITTLE OVER 80K MILES AND I'VE RESEARCHED COMPLAINTS ON THE TRANSFER CASE AND MANY PEOPLE SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP. THESE THREE ISSUES MAY BE RELATED TO EACH OTHER IF SOMEONE REALLY TOOK THE TIME TO INVESTIGATE. NO WAY A CAR SHOULD HAVE CONCERNS LIKE THIS CONSISTENTLY UNDER 80K MILES. I WORK ONLY 18 MINUTES FROM MY JOB AND DO NOT TRAVEL THAT MUCH TO WEAR THIS VEHICLE.

THE TACHOMETER OF THE CAR STICKS IN HIGH REVS (1500-2500),ENGINE ON, CAR IN NEUTRAL, FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL, IF THE CAR IS MOVING OVER 20-25MPH (EITHER BY FREE FALLING A HILL OR BEING PULLED) THE TACHOMETER VARIES THE RPM READING TO MATCH SPEED JUST AS IF THE CAR WOULD BE IN 'D' POSITION. I THINK THE ECU HAS A GLITCH OF SOME SORT THAT IGNORES THE GAS PEDAL AND THE SHIFT POSITION IF THE CAR IS MOVING. TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID CAR IS WORKING AS DESIGNED, THAT THE CAR WILL KEEP RPMS TO MATCH SPEED IN TO AVOID A ENGINE SLOWDOWN OR SOMETHING SIMILAR. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE ECU SHOULD BEHAVE AS EXPECTED SO SHOULD THE TACHOMETER READ 600-800 RPM WHEN IDLING, REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED OF THE CAR IF THE TRANSMISSION IS IN NEUTRAL, IF NOT AT ANY TIME THE ECU MAY DECIDE IT SHOULD REV UP THE ENGINE IF THE SPEED SENSOR GOES BAD. *TR
