DRIVER AIR BAG INFLATOR FINAL REPAIR NOTICE - SAFETY RECALL 8215F. I TOOK MY VEHICLE WHEN I RECEIVED THE FIRST NOTICE AND WENT TO JIM FALK MAZDA IN KAHULUI,MAUI,HAWAII AND THEY TOLD ME SORRY WE DON'T HAVE THE PART TO REPLACE YET BUT WILL CALL ME WHEN IT COMES IN AND THAT WAS ABOUT A YEAR AGO.NOW I RECEIVED THE 2ND AND FINAL NOTICE AND I CALLED TWO DAYS AGO TO THE SAME PLACE AND AGAIN THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE GOING TO LOOK INTO IT AND CALL ME BACK. WELL NO CALL BACK YET AND I AM GETTING VERY UPSET THAT THEY DON'T FEEL THAT THIS IS IMPORTANT TO CALL PEOPLE BACK TO FIX THIS IMPORTANT PROBLEM. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 MAZDA, MAZDA6. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT SMELLED BURNT OIL. THE OIL LIGHT NEVER ILLUMINATED BUT THE NEXT MORNING WHEN HE STARTED THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE WAS KNOCKING. HE ADDED OIL TO THE ENGINE AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CAM HAD SLIPPED WHICH CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS SPEAKING WITH WARRANTY PERSONNEL AND THE MANUFACTURER AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 85,000.

DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY FROM CHICAGO TO WISCONSIN I NOTICED A KNOCK IN MY ENGINE THAT TURNED INTO 2 THROWN PISTONS THROUGH MY ENGINE BLOCK. I WORK FOR A CRASH TEST FACILITY. CARS ARE A DAILY COMPONENT IN MY LIFE. THE ENGINE HAD 45,000 MILES ON IT AND MAZDA REJECTED MY WARRANTY CLAIM. I ENDED UP SETTLING WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND TRANSFERRING MY LOAN TO A USED CAR. Very hard shifts from 1st to 3rd gear it's a automatic transmission it's getting worse it will do it at random times and it's getting to the point I'm scared to drive the car. mazda should listen to everyone else's problems with the same transmission it's ridiculous

OVER TIME, THE CLUTCH IN MY MANUAL TRANSMISSION 2004 MAZDA 6 V6 HATCHBACK HAS BEEN GETTING NOISY, DIFFICULT TO MODULATE WITH SURPRISING SLOPPY MOVEMENT IN A SIDEWAYS MOTION WHEN BEING DEPRESSED, AND HAS BEEN GREATLY WORRYING ME. UPON INVESTIGATION, I DISCOVERED CRACKS IN THE FORMED AND WELDED STEEL FRAME THAT HOLDS THE CLUTCH PEDAL WHERE THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY BOLTS TO THE FIREWALL. I'VE ADJUSTED MY CLUTCH LINKAGE, BLED THE HYDRAULIC LINE AND ATTEMPTED TO BEND THE FRAME BACK TO SQUARE, BUT EVENTUALLY THIS FRAME IS GOING TO FAIL AND I WILL BE UNABLE TO PUSH THE CLUTCH AND CHANGE GEARS. IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING, I COULD CRASH AND BE INJURED OR KILLED. IN ADDITION, THE CLUTCH PEDAL FRAME, AS IT BENDS TO THE LEFT WITH EVERY SHIFT, MAKES CONTACT WITH AN ELECTRICAL/CPU BOX MOUNTING FRAME NEXT TO THE CLUTCH, WHICH IS ADDITIONALLY WORRISOME. THIS WELDED STEEL FRAME IS MADE FROM SURPRISINGLY LIGHT GAUGE METAL AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN DESIGNED TO LAST THE LIFE OF THE CAR. THIS IS A GRAVE SAFETY CONCERN FOR ALL MAZDA 6S MADE IN THE FORD AUTO ALLIANCE FACTORY IN FLAT ROCK, MICHIGAN. THIS COMPONENT SHOULD BE RECALLED!

I PURCHASED MY CAR USED IN OCTOBER 2011. MY CAR FREQUENTLY STALLS ON THE HIGHWAY AND I HAVE TO EITHER PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY TO RESTART IT OR PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND RESTART IT WHILE COASTING ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS ALSO HAPPENS AT SLOW SPEEDS BUT IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. MAZDA PUT OUT A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THE THROTTLE BODY IN 2006. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO PURCHASE A REPLACEMENT THROTTLE BODY SINCE JULY 2012 AND HAVE FOUND IT IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THE PART AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THE PART IS ON A NATIONAL BACK ORDER. OBVIOUSLY MAZDA KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PART OR THEY WOULDN'T HAVE PUT A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT. I FEEL MAZDA IS PUTTING LIVES AT RISK BY NOT MAKING THE REPLACEMENT PART AVAILABLE. *TR

ON AUGUST 15, 2012 I STOPPED OFF AT A GAS STATION WENT TO OPEN DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE HANDLE. I THEN HAD TO ESCAPE BY CLIMBING OVER THE CONSOLE TO EXIT THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, GOOD THING I'M A SMALL GIRL AND NOT A BIG GUY TRYING TO CLIMB OUT. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A DOOR HANDLE ON MY CAR FOR APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS, HAVING TO CLIMB THRU THE WINDOW OR PASSENGER DOOR. I FINALLY TAKE TO MECHANIC TO PURCHASE A NEW HANDLE AT $100 AND THEN CHARGED ANOTHER $150 FOR THE LABOR TO FIND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MAZDA AND THE REAL ISSUE ARE THE DOOR LATCHES. I NOW HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY AT ANOTHER $205 AND ANOTHER $100 IN LABOR. THIS ENTIRE TIME I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IN AN UNSAFE VEHICLE THAT IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT I WOULD HAVE SUED MAZDA FOR. THESE ARE FAULTY LATCHES THEY ASSEMBLED ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOORS UNSAFELY LOCKING US INSIDE THE VEHICLE. MAZDA NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE, CORRECT THIS ISSUE, AND REIMBURSE THE OWNERS THAT ARE PAYING FOR THIS FAULTY PART. THIS HAS COST ME OUT OF POCKET OF $550. UNCALLED FOR!!! *TR

I HAVE A 2004 MAZDA 6 WHEN I PARKED AND TRIED TO EXIT THE CAR THE DRIVER DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. IT SEEMS THE DOOR LOCK HAD SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT AND THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OUT OUTSIDE! I TRIED TO UNLOCK THE DOOR WITH THE POWER LOCKS AS WELL AS MANUALLY. EVEN TRYING TO MUSCLE THE LOCK OPEN IT DID NOT WORK! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IF I HAD TO EXIT THE CAR QUICKLY I WOULD HAVE TO CLIMB OVER THE CENTER CONSOLE AND EXIT THROUGH THE PASSENGER DOOR. I HAVE READ THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM ON OTHER MAZDA 6. I WENT TO THE DEALER TO GET A PRICE ON A NEW DOOR LATCH I SPOKE TO A MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD HE JUST FINISHED CHANGING A DOOR LATCH ON A MAZDA 6 THAT THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN! SHOULD WE WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE TO GET HURT IN A CAR THEY CAN'T GET OUT OF BEFORE THIS ISSUE IS FIXED!. *TR

THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ENTER THE VEHICLE THROUGH ANOTHER DOOR BUT ALL OF THE DOORS WERE UNABLE TO BE OPENED. THE CONTACT HAD TO CRAWL THROUGH THE TRUNK IN ORDER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO OPEN ALL DOORS AFTER SEVERAL HOURS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOORS COULD NOT BE UNLOCKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS WHO WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AFTER TWO HOURS. THE MECHANIC ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE DOOR MECHANISMS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING REPAIRS. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

VEHICLE HAS NEEDED 3 BATTERY REPLACEMENTS WITHIN PAST 2 YEARS. LAST INCIDENT WAS WHEN VEHICLE HAD BEEN IDLE FOR 5 DAYS AND NEEDED JUMP STARTING. VEHICLE RAN OK FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS BUT AFTER SITTING IDLE FOR ABOUT 6 HOURS THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AGAIN. THE NEXT DAY AN ATTEMPT TO JUMP START THE VEHICLE FAILED. IN ADDITION, MANY ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS STARTED UP. THE ELECTRIC WINDOWS ROLLED DOWN AND WIPERS TURNED ON BY THEMSELVES. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MAZDA DEALERSHIP. FIRST DIAGNOSIS WAS BAD ALTERNATOR. ALTERNATOR WAS OVERCHARGING. SECOND DIAGNOSIS WAS A FAILED CPM / COMPUTER. DEALERSHIP SAID OVERCHARGING ALTERNATOR SHORTED OUT CPM. ALSO FUSES ETC. HAD BEEN BLOWN OUT. PARTS HAVE BEEN ORDERED BUT VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF THIS NOTE. *KB

I OWN A 2004 MAZDA 6 SPORTS SEDAN WHICH STILL HAS A FACTORY WARRANTY. MY WIFE & I ARE HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE CAR WHICH IS CAUSING A 15 AMP FUSE TO KEEP BLOWING. THIS FUSE CONTROLS THE HORN, BRAKE LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, & CRUISE CONTROL. WE HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME PROBLEM 3 TIMES NOW & ALL THEY SEEM TO DO IS REPLACE THE FUSE WITH A NEW ONE & SEND US ON OUR WAY WITH NO EXPLANATION OF WHY IT IS BLOWING. THEY ADVISE ME THAT THEY HAVE TESTED ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS & CAN'T FIND ANY PROBLEMS. I HAVE A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THIS OCCURRING BECAUSE MY WIFE & I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING THIS FUSE IS BLOWN UNTIL WE EXIT THE VEHICLE & ATTEMPT TO ARM THE ALARM & HEAR NO HORN, OR SOMEONE LETS US KNOW OUR BREAK LIGHTS & TURN SIGNALS ARE NOT WORKING. NOT TO MENTION THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD DRIVING IN STOP & GO TRAFFIC! AFTER EXITING A FREEWAY AND DECELERATING AND BRAKING NORMALLY, I WAITED BEHIND OTHER TRAFFIC FOR THE LIGHT TO CHANGE, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE GEAR SELECTOR IN DRIVE. SUDDENLY, THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED SHARPLY AND MY CAR MOVED FORWARD. I WAS UNABLE TO HOLD THE CAR IN PLACE WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL. I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE SO HARD THAT I SENSED THE PULSING OF THE ABS SYSTEM. THIS WAS COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED, SO BY THE TIME I SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL, MY CAR HAD STRUCK THE REAR OF THE ONE AHEAD. I THEN TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. NO DAMAGE WAS DONE, AND THE OTHER DRIVER AND I AGREED IT WAS A "NON-REPORTABLE" ACCIDENT. AFTER THE INCIDENT, I WAITED ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND RESTARTED THE CAR. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT. MY CAR HAD OPERATED NORMALLY UNDER VARIOUS TRAFFIC CONDITIONS FOR THE PREVIOUS TWO HOURS. I WAS NOT USING THE AIR CONDITIONING AT THE TIME; I WAS RUNNING THE VENTILATOR FAN SYSTEM. IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT I HAD DEPRESSED BOTH BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR TOGETHER, AS I HAD JUST BRAKED NORMALLY AND DID NOT MOVE MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL. (I CHECKED LATER TO SEE IF IT WAS EVEN POSSIBLE TO TOUCH BOTH PEDALS SIMULTANEOUSLY. I COULD NOT, WITHOUT PUTTING MY FOOT AT AN AWKWARD, ANGLED POSITION.) I ALSO CHECKED FOR A JAMMED FLOOR MAT, BUT IT WAS WELL CLEAR OF THE PEDALS. THIS UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION OCCURRED AT CA. 66,000 MI. THERE WAS ONE SUCH PREVIOUS INCIDENT, AT CA. 14,000 MI. THE MAZDA DEALER THAT REGULARLY SERVICES THE VEHICLE INSPECTED THE CAR AND RAN VARIOUS ELECTRONIC, THROTTLE, AND VACUUM TESTS, WITH ADVICE FROM MAZDA'S NATIONAL SERVICE CENTER. NO DEFECTS WERE FOUND. The contact owns a 2004 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the driver’s and passenger’s side headlights were inoperable and failed to illuminate as needed. The contact replaced the bulbs, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the electrical wires had shorted out due defective wire coating. The mechanic attempted to fix the failure by covering the electrical wires, but the failure persisted. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 165,000.

HEADLIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE WELL ON OUR 2004 MAZDA 6 . THEY HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPLACED AND LOOKED AT BY THE DEALER TWICE AND THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. THE LIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT IT IS SERIOUSLY HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT, SO WE CAN ONLY DRIVE THIS CAR IN THE DAYLIGHT. WE ARE AFRAID TO RUN OVER SOMETHING OR SOMEONE, OR GET PULLED OVER BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE, AND WE ARE AFRAID THIS MAY CAUSE A CAR CRASH AS WELL. UNFORTUNATELY, THERE IS JUST NOT ANYTHING THAT WILL FIX IT. THE AUTO DEALER DOESN'T EVEN WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS ANYMORE AND HAVE REJECTED OUR WARRANTY. THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE VEHICLE FAILED. AS A RESULT, I AM UNABLE TO ENTER THE CAR FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. FURTHERMORE, THE REMOTE CONTROL, KEY, INTERIOR LATCH, DOOR HANDLE WILL NOT OPEN THE DOOR. AS A RESULT, I HAVE TO ENTER THE CAR THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND CLIMB OVER THE CENTER CONSOLE. THIS IS A PROBLEM DUE TO BACK SURGERY IN WHICH SCREWS WERE PLACED IN MY LOWER BACK TO STABILIZE TO DISK. BECAUSE THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN, THE DOOR PANEL CAN NOT BE REMOVED AND THUS THERE IS NO ACCESS TO THE FAILED PARTS. NO ONE SEEMS TO WANT TO WORK ON THE PROBLEM. I PURCHASED NEW TIRES AND HAD INSTALLED AT COSTCO ON AUGUST 1ST 2016. I WENT TO HAVE THE TIRES RETORQUED AT COSTCO ON AUGUST 12TH. ON SEPT 1ST I WAS DRIVING NORTHBOUND ON A CITY PARKWAY STREET SO MOSTLY STRAIGHT ROADWAY WITH SOME GENTLE CURVES AT APPROX. 50-55 MILES PER HOUR, WHEN SUDDENLY MY STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO SHAKE, THEN WEAVING LEFT TO RIGHT, I TRIED TO REGAIN CONTROL BY STEERING STRAIGHT AND APPLY BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN BUT THAT JUST MADE IT WORSE AND THE CAR BEGAN SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL ACROSS THE ROADWAY UNTIL IT FINALLY LANDED TO A STOP ON THE BANK OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. SEVERAL PEOPLE STOPPED AT THE SCENE TO MAKE SURE I WAS OK. A COUPLE THAT LIVED NEAR BY SAID THEY HEARD A LOUD BOOM...A POLICE OFFICER ALSO CAME AND STAYED WITH ME WHILE I WAITED FOR THE TOW TRUCK. I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK AND WITHOUT WARNING MY DRIVERS SIDE BACK TIRES BLEW OUT. IT SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE AND THE CORDS WERE SHOWING. I AM CONVINCED THAT THIS IS THE FAULT OF THE MICHELIN TIRE BECAUSE OF THE TREAD WEAR AND THE MILES ON IT. I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING IN THE ROAD NOR WAS THE TIRE PUNCTURED. WHEN THE TIRE BLEW I WAS ON WEST BOUND ON I-70 TO DOWNTOWN INDIANAPOLIS AND WITHOUT WARNING I SPUN AROUND SEVERAL TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF I-70 AND GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT AND HAD TO BE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE FOR NECK AND BACK INJURIES. MY MAZDA 6 RECIEVED 6,000 DOLLARS IN DAMAGE THAT I KNOW OF SO FAR NOT TO MENTION THE PERSON THAT I CRASHED INTO. MY INSURANCE WILL NOT PAY FOR THE TIRE BECAUSE THAT WAS THE REASON FOR THE ACCIDENT. THE V6 MOTOR IN MY MAZDA 6S HAS BEEN LEAKING OIL FOR ALMOST 10 OF THE 12 YEARS I'VE OWNED IT. THE OIL LEAKS OUT OF THE FAULTY SEALS ON THE TIMING CHAIN COVER IN FRONT OF THE PASSENGER, AND THE OIL DROPS ONTO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THIS OIL VAPORIZES AND THAT VAPOR ENTERS THE CABIN IN SLOW SPEED DRIVING AND WHEN STOPPED AT INTERSECTIONS. I COMPLAINED ABOUT A BURNING OIL SMELL MANY TIMES WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, AND THE MAZDA SERVICE TECHS ALWAYS PRETENDED LIKE THEY DIDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEM. YEARS DOWN THE ROAD, I AM FINDING THIS IS A RAMPANT PROBLEM WITH ALL FORD AND MAZDA CARS AND SUVS WITH THIS "DURATEC" 3.0 V6 WHICH WAS MADE BY FORD. IT IS INSTALLED IN MANY FORD, MERCURY AND MAZDA VEHICLES. I CARRY A FIRE EXTINGUISHER WITH ME IN THE EVENT I HAVE AN UNDER HOOD FIRE, AND I'M VERY WORRIED ABOUT MY HEALTH AFTER ALL THESE YEARS OF BREATHING THIS VAPOR. DURING THIS TIME, THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY, AND HAD APPROX. 41,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. NEITHER DEALERSHIP COULD DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ?IN LATE AUGUST 2007, THIS CAR BEGAN TO EXHIBIT CONTINUOUS CLUNKING AND GRINDING NOISES EMANATING FROM THE FRONT SUSPENSION DURING ALL DRIVING SITUATIONS. I INQUIRED ABOUT WHETHER THIS ITEM WAS COVERED UNDER RECALL OR WARRANTY, AND WAS TOLD NO. ?ON SEPTEMBER 26, 2007, I TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL MECHANIC NEAR MY HOME, WHO VERIFIED THE DIAGNOSIS FROM MONTGOMERY MAZDA. THE OIL LEAKS DOWN THE SIDE & BOTTOM OF THE MOTOR & DRIPS (ONLY WHILE DRIVING, NEVER WHILE RESTING) ONTO THE TOP OF ONE OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM'S CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. THE INTENSE HEAT OF THE CONVERTER VAPORIZES THE OIL, THE RESULT OF WHICH ENTERS THE CAR'S CABIN THROUGH THE HVAC SYSTEM. I HAVE BEEN ADDING A QUART OF OIL ALMOST EVERY TWO MONTHS FOR YEARS NOW, BREATHING THIS CARCINOGENIC VAPOR AND WORRYING ABOUT AN ENGINE FIRE FOR THE BETTER PART OF A DECADE NOW. LEADING UP TO DISCOVERING THE LEAK, I HAD REPLACED MY VALVE COVER GASKETS & OIL PAN & GASKETS AT GREAT COST. THE PROPER REPAIR FOR THIS WOULD LIKELY REQUIRE REMOVING MY CAR'S ENGINE & A 12 HOUR REPAIR AT $100 PER HOUR, AND THAT'S JUST THE LABOR. WHEN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM, IT APPEARS IN ONLINE FORUMS TO BE A CONSISTENT PROBLEM FOR HUNDREDS (LIKELY THOUSANDS) OF OWNERS, AND VARIATIONS OF THIS FORD-MADE V6 ENGINE ARE INSTALLED IN A DOZEN FORD AND MAZDA CARS. MAZDA 6I HATCHBACK DEVELOPED SEVERE PULL TO THE RIGHT DURING REGULAR CITY, EVEN DRIVING ON A FLAT SURFACE. A STRONG GRIP AND CONSIDERABLE PULL ON THE STEERING WHEEL WAS NECESSARY TO KEEP THE CAR DRIVING STRAIGHT, AND BECOMES EXHAUSTING TO MAINTAIN ON LONG DRIVES. VEHICLE WAS REALIGNED AT A TIRE SHOP AND TECHNICIANS NOTED FRONT WHEELS WERE SEVERAL DEGREES OUT OF ALIGNMENT. AFTER 50 MILES, THE PULL RECURRED AND GREW MORE SEVERE. REGULAR REALIGNMENTS HAVE NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING AT ANY SPEED. I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE A LARGE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS WITH THE 2003-2005 MAZDA 6. MAZDA EVEN RELEASED A SERVICE BULLETIN: 01-016/06 IN 2006 REGARDING A BAD THROTTLE BODY WITH AA, AB, OR BA MARKINGS. SURE ENOUGH AFTER REMOVING THE THROTTLE BODY, MINE HAD THE AA MARKINGS. FROM THE AMOUNT OF ONLINE COMPLAINTS AND THE FACT THAT A SERVICE BULLETIN WAS RELEASED, THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL. TO TOP IT OFF, CURRENTLY MAZDA HAS AN ISSUE WITH REPLACEMENT THROTTLE BODY'S THAT WILL CAUSE THE CAR TO JERK AND STALL AT ANYTIME. THEY HAVE ADMITTED THAT THE CURRENT NEW STOCK OF THROTTLE BODIES WILL NOT WORK WITH MY VEHICLE. THIS WILL CAUSE PEOPLE TO KEEP DRIVING WITH A BAD THROTTLE BODY SINCE THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT.

MAY 25, 2010 RE: FAILURE OF TRACTION CONTROL MODULE: I HAVE A 2004 MAZDA 6 WAGON THAT I BOUGHT NEW IN THE SPRING OF 2005 FROM THE DEALER. IT IS THE SPRING OF 2010, THEREFORE IT HAS BEEN 5 YEARS. THE MILEAGE IS 32864. THE ABS (ANTI- LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM) LIGHT, THE TCS (TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM) LIGHT, THE BRAKE LIGHT, AND A PICTURE OF A CAR SKIDDING LIGHT, ALL CAME ON TOGETHER. THE MANUAL SAID IF THEY COME ON TOGETHER TO DRIVE SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY TO THE DEALER, SO I DID TO THE SAME DEALER THAT I BOUGHT IT FROM AND WHERE IT HAS BEEN SERVICED CONTINUOUSLY. THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER AND IT TOLD THEM THAT A PART THAT SITS ON TOP OF THE ABS SYSTEM, THE TRACTION CONTROL MODULE, HAD FAILED. IT HAS TO BE ORDERED AND WILL TAKE 2 WEEKS TO ARRIVE AND THE PART COSTS $1600. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE CAR MIGHT HAVE ITS BRAKES FAIL AFTER A WHILE. I AM LETTING YOU KNOW SO THAT YOU CAN TRACK COMPLAINTS LIKE THIS IN CASE THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL, AT WHICH POINT I WOULD BE REIMBURSED. I HAVE A 20 YEAR OLD CAR THAT NEVER HAD AN EXPENSIVE PROBLEM LIKE THAT OCCUR IN TERMS OF A PART FAILING. A LITTLE VOICE TELLS ME THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE PART AND THAT THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. I PAID ABOUT $20,000 FOR THE CAR, AND $1600 FOR A PART PLUS TAX MAKES THAT CLOSE TO 10% OF THE PURCHASE PRICE AND I HAVE NOT YET DRIVEN EVEN 35,000 MILES. WHILE PARKING ON AN INCLINE I ATTEMPTED TO SET THE CARAS PARKING BRAKE. WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, I PULLED THE BRAKE HANDLE FULLY UPWARD WITHOUT HOLDING THE BUTTON. WHEN I RELEASED MY HAND FROM THE PARKING BRAKE, I FOUND THE HANDLE TO STILL BE IN MY HAND BECAUSE IT HAD FALLEN BACK DOWN AS A RESULT OF NEVER ENGAGING. I ATTEMPTED TO SET THE PARKING BRAKE A MINIMUM OF 4 MORE TIMES WITH NO SUCCESS. IN A FINAL ATTEMPT, I PULLED THE HANDLE SWIFTLY AND MUCH MORE FIRMLY UPWARD AT WHICH POINT THE BRAKE FINALLY BECAME SET. I RETESTED THE PARKING BRAKE BY RELEASING IT AND SETTING IT AGAIN WITH SUCCESS. I RECENTLY TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE 11/8/04 BECAUSE THE CAR HAS A HISTORY OF THE PARKING BREAK RELEASING BY ITSELF BUT IT HAS NEVER BEEN TOTALLY UNABLE TO BE SET.
