The vehicle owner received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V474000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

TAKATA RECALL. FOR THE PAST YEAR THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON. IT SEEMS TO OCCUR AT WARMER TEMPERATURES AND GOES AWAY AND COLDER TEMPERATURES. THE CODE THAT COMES BACK IS B2234 AND THIS IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG. I BELIEVE THIS HAS OCCURRED BECAUSE OF THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT THAT WAS DONE ON MY VEHICLE DUE TO THE TAKATA RECALL.

LOUD CLUNK IN THE DRIVE TRAIN. TOOK IT IN AND FOUND THE TRANSFER CASE HAD LEAKED ENOUGH OIL FOR LARGE PARTS TO BE DISLODGED. LOOKED AND FOUND THERE WAS A TSB ON THE ISSUE BUT WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. IN SEARCHING THE INTERNET, I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. MAZDA IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE BUT DOES NOT CONTACT THE OWNERS OF THE CAR. I HAVE AN 07 MAZDA6 THAT I RECENTLY HAD TO REPLACE THE 2 BATTERY CABLES GOING FROM THE POSITIVE TERMINAL TO THE ALTERNATOR AND THE FUSE BOX LOCATED NEXT TO THE BATTERY (IT'S ONE CABLE BUT IT SPLITS IN TWO IF YOU TRACE IT). SEVERAL MONTHS BEFORE I REPLACED IT, I NOTICED QUITE A BIT OF CORROSION ON THE BATTERY TERMINAL. I WOULD CLEAN IT OFF W WATER & BAKING POWDER, BUT IT WOULD COME BACK. THEN MY CAR STARTED HAVING TROUBLE STARTING. I TOOK THE BATT OUT AND CLEANED THE TERMINAL, BUT WHEN I TOOK THE CABLE BRACKET OFF OF THE TERM IT DISINTEGRATED FROM MASSIVE CORROSION. I EVENTUALLY TRACED THE CORROSION SEVERAL INCHES BACK ON THE CABLE WHILE REMOVING THE PROTECTIVE RUBBER HOSING. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO INFORMED ME THEY'D HAVE TO ORDER A NEW WIRING HARNESS AND REPLACE ALL THE CABLES IN THAT BUNDLE (THERE ARE OTHER VARIOUS WIRES THAT ARE ALL "BUNDLED" TOGETHER) AT A COST OF WELL OVER $1000. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO SEPARATED THE CABLES FROM THE BUNDLE, REMOVED AND REPLACED W BETTER QUALITY CABLES. ON ONLINE FORUMS I'VE NOTICED OTHER OWNERS WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. LOOKS LIKE MAZDA USED SUBSTANDARD CABLE FOR THE POSITIVE SIDE. ALSO, HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY DUE TO IT CONSTANTLY BEING DRAINED AND NOT RECHARGED SUFFICIENTLY. CORROSION WAS A DISTINCT BLUE/GREENISH COLOR. MAZDA SHOULD ADDRESS THIS AND REPLACE THESE. THEY DON'T EVEN NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE WIRING HARNESS AS THE DEALER STATED! *TR

STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT, EXTREME VIBRATION, AND CAR PULLED TO THE RIGHT WHEN TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH APPROX MILEAGE WAS 46K WHEN ISSUE STARTED. PROBLEM CONTINUED FOR ABOUT 5 MILES AND THEN STOPPED. ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN TRAVELING APPROX 40 MPH. TOOK VEHICLE TO MANUFACTURER AND THEY FOUND NO ISSUE, JUST STATED THAT IT WAS TIME FOR A 50K MILE SERVICE. GOT THE RECOMMENDED SERVICE. IN JANUARY '10 WHILE DRIVING APPROX 70 MPH ISSUE STARTED AGAIN, BUT WAS A LOT WORSE, APPROX MILEAGE WAS 52K DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT HONOR 50K MILE WARRANTY, TOOK CAR TO REPAIR SHOP, WHEN ARRIVING, ATTEMPTED TO PUT CAR IN REVERSE AND IT WOULD NOT GO. I HAVE HAD MY MAZDA 6 FOR 2 YEARS. TWO DAYS AGO, IT GOT VERY COLD, AND WHEN I DROVE THE NEXT DAY, I HEARD THIS SQUEAKY NOISE FROM THE STEERING COLUMN AND FROM THE SUSPENSION WHEN TURNING. NOT SURE WHAT PROBLEM IS, BUT IT SEEMED THAT ONCE THE ENGINE WAS WARM THE SQUEAKING WAS GONE. I DID CHECK THE POWER STEERING FLUID, AND IT WAS LOW, SO POWER STEERING FLUID WAS ADDED. ALSO ADDED BRAKE FLUID DUE TO IT WAS ALSO LOW. I HEARD PROBLEM SLIGHTLY THE DAY AFTER A LITTLE. HOPEFULLY THE POWER STEERING FLUID WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM. IF IT PERSISTS, I WILL CALL THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE A 2007 MAZDA 6 AND UNFORTUNATELY RECENTLY AFTER I TURNED ON THE SEAT WARMER I SMELLED BURNING LEATHER. I THEN FELT A BURNING SENSATION ON MY THIGH. I QUICKLY MOVED AWAY THEN NOTICED THAT MY SEAT WAS ON FIRE. THE SEAT WARMER BURNT A WHOLE IN THE SEAT. THE THREADS LOOKED LIKE THE BLAZING WICK ON A LIT CANDLE. A RED GLARE WAS SEEN UNDER THE REST OF THE SEAT. I CONTACTED MAZDA AND WAS TOLD THAT ITS THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE, ITS WEAR AND TEAR AND THEREFORE ITS CUSTOMER COST TO REPAIR. THE ASSOCIATE DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO LOOK AT THE DAMAGE. HE SAID THAT HE COULD GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST FOR THE REPAIRS. CUSTOMER PAY. 2007 MAZDA6 WITH "NOISE" IN THE FRONT END, MANY PEOPLE WITH SAME PROBLEM REPORTING ONLINE. THE NOISE, A CLUNKING, HAS BEEN THERE SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW, BUT AT 45K IT BECAME WORSE, WHERE ONE COULD HEAR IT CONSTANTLY UPON TURNING THE WHEEL/BRAKING. LIKE FRONT END WAS FALLING OFF. NOW THE DEALER SAYS IT IS THE ROTATING ARMS IN THE FRONT AND THAT IT IS NOT DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IT THIS WAY WITH THE CONSTANT GROANING WHILE ONE TURNS THE WHEEL. And the man i brought car from said it always did it to him as well.i would explain it as in stopping or speeding up the dashboard lights flicker or goes off, the engine gets real loud and car jerks and shakes and loses power check engine light comes on and AT.and Cars dyes in reverse a few times on me. Auto lots said that it is common and known for electrical problems and engine issues and pieces called camshafts position actuator and transmission range sensor and gears. THE CAR THEN LOST COMPLETE CONTROL AND SWERVED/SPUN ALL THE WAY LEFT (IMAGINE MAKING A COMPLETE LEFT TURN ON THE FREEWAY), INTO THE 3RD LANE. IT CONTINUED GOING IN A COUNTER-CLOCKWISE DIRECTION UNTIL A WHITE VAN RAN INTO MY CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY, STOPPING THE CAR IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION. THE AIR BAGS POPPED, SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM THE CAR. I WAS AMAZINGLY UNHURT FOR THE MOST PART. I TOOK MY HANDS OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND MANAGED TO OPEN THE DRIVER SEAT DOOR TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE FINAL POSITION OF THE CAR WAS FACING EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC. SEVERAL FIREFIGHTERS/PARAMEDICS ARRIVED AND PROCEEDED TO CLEAN UP THE DEBRIS SCATTERED AROUND THE ROADS AND PUSHED THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY. THE CAR INSURANCE COMPANY HIRED FORENSIC ENGINEERS TO RECONSTRUCT THE ACCIDENT AND INSPECT THE CAR FOR DAMAGES. UNFORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NOTHING CONCLUSIVE TO REPORT (ALTHOUGH THE FRONT ROTORS WERE SUSPECT). *TR

I HAVE A 2007 MAZDA6. DRIVING THROUGH RAIN STORM ON I-4 DRIVING SLOWLY FOR ONLY FIVE MINUTES. NEXT DAY REMOTE, ELECTRIC DOORS, BLINKERS, INSIDE LIGHT WOULD NOT WORK. TOOK TO DEALER WHO STATES JUNCTION BOX GOT WATER IN IT AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW DRIVING ON INTERSTATE CAUSE WATER TO GET IN JUNCTION BOX IF IT WAS PROTECTED BY MANUFACTURE. CONSUMER WANTS TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANY RECALL 2007 MAZDA 6 AND IS TRYING TO GET AN OWNERS MANUAL. THE POWER WINDOWS DID NOT WORK USING THE MASTER CONTROL SWITCH. *NJ THE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM, THE TRANSMITTER AND THE SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WERE ALL INOPERATIVE. *JB
