MY MAZDA WAS RECALLED DUE TO AIR BAG INFLATOR THAT COULD EXPLODE RESULTING IN SHARP METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING THE PASSENGER OR OTHER VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. WHEN I CALLED MY MAZDA DEALER TO GET IT IN TO BE FIXED I WAS TOLD THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER AT MAZDA AND THEY COULD NOT GIVE ME AN ETA ON WHEN THEY WOULD GET PARTS IN. HOW CAN MAZDA ALLOW IT'S CUSTOMERS TO CONTINUE DRIVING THEIR CAR WITH NO RECOURSE TO GIVE US A RENTAL CAR IN THE MEANTIME IF THEY CAN'T FIX AN ISSUE THAT I WOULD CONSIDER EXTREMELY SERIOUS AND NEEDING TO BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY? MY WIFE IS PREGNANT AND WE HAVE A TODDLER WHO RIDES IN A CARSEAT IN THE BACKSEAT AND WE NOW FEEL UNSAFE TO DRIVE OUR CAR. I WOULD EXPECT THIS MATTER TO BE TAKEN MUCH MORE SERIOUSLY THAN IT IS. The contact owns a 2010 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated while driving 40–45 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The TPMS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the rear main sub frame was completely rusted. There was a crack detected in the middle of the sub frame. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the rear sub frame was rusted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer informed the contact that it was normal wear and tear, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

I BOUGHT A MAZDA 6 3 DAYS AGO AND I REPLACED THE HEADLIGHT BULB BECAUSE IT WASN'T WORKING. WHEN I OPENED THE COMPARTMENT I NOTICED THAT THE ENTIRE U IT WAS MELTING AND SMELLED VERY HOT. I HAD NO TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS AT THIS POINT AND I REMOVED THE BULB FROM THE ELECTRICAL UNIT. THIS COULD HAVE EASILY CAUGHT ON FIRE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 6. AFTER BEING STOPPED BY A POLICE OFFICER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RED REFLECTOR LENS IN THE TAIL LAMPS WERE MISSING. UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE TAIL LIGHT BULBS WERE EXTREMELY HOT, WHICH CAUSED THE REFLECTORS TO SEPARATE FROM THE TAIL LIGHT HOUSINGS. 2010 mazda 6 i series sedan the entire rear subframe/cradle is rotted along with all the other parts connected to it, the A arm, bumper stops, control arms, rear sway bar the entire rear under carriage. took it to the shop and they said there have been several complaints about this exact issue on several of these cars from 09-13 models. the parts was not painted correctly like the front that was recalled. exposed to all weather elements, the shop wants almost 4k for labor only to fix but the main problem is finding the rear subframe on these cars is almost impossible next to cost a fortune. now i have a yard ornament. junk yard wants to give me 170 bucks for the car but im not doing that. Mazda needs to fix this issue. i would of never know it was rotted out unless i took it to the shop for rear swaying and sagging. its all over the road. very dangerous and will cause a wreck almost certainly. please someone do something about this issue. dont have the money to fix this let alone buy another car.

The rear subframe is compromised; it separated from the body of the car. The vehicle is in my driveway and available for inspection should the need arise. The rear end had felt a bit shaky for a month so I took it to my mechanic, who declared the vehicle "unfit for the road" due to the fact that the subframe was rotted away and detached from the car itself. I was told one big bump is an accident waiting to happen...pieces of the car would go flying and I could be left with zero mobility to evade oncoming traffic. The possibility of projectiles injuring anyone around the car was enough for me to park it. The car has not been inspected by Mazda, the police, or insurance because there was no accident. Since it's not safe to drive, I took the word of my independent mechanic rather than driving it to a dealership. There were no warnings other than a bit of a sway in the rear end, which I originally attributed to its age. I've researched the issue and it seems to be a result of subpar quality with regard to the metal that was used in manufacturing.

Rear sub frame on car rusting out. Never protected from corrosion or rust. Car is currently in shop. Car has rusted out in the joint just behind drivers rear tire. Received notice of recall on the front of car due to salt and weather conditions front sub frame area replaced . Currently multiple cars have same issues Mazda hasnt fixed or issued any repairs for this

My gf went for a basic oil change and the automotive person was shocked to find the rear right cross bar to be suffering from incredible corrosion. He said at this point it is unsafe to drive. We looked into recalls for this make and model and there is one for the front cross bar due to insufficient or improper application of a corrosion spray on the frame. How can they say the front needs to be recalled and not the back? If the dealership didn’t do a good job of covering the appropriate metal frame in corrosion resistant spray any car that has that level should be recalled. This is immensely dangerous

Mazda issued a extended warranty for sticky dash board and supposedly mailed notices to owners. I never received one and dispute the fact they mailed it to all owners. The sticky dash repair should be issued as a recall as it presents a significant safety issue. The sticky dash is so shiny that it reflects sun into driver’s eyes and should be considered a significant safety issue. I request the NHTSA to mandate Mazda to make the sticky dash repair a recalled issue versus allowing them to issue a extended warranty. I never got the notice and the issue existed within the warranty period. In addition, what happens if the issue arises after the warranty period. This sticky dash is a defect in the manufacturing of the vehicle and presents a significant safety issue to drivers as it impacts their road visibility, which may lead to increased accidents. Please have Mazda issue a recall on the sticky dash repair due to the manufacturer’s defect. Thank you.

WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN, I HIT THE BRAKES TO AVOID COLLIDING WITH SOMEONE WHO PULLED IN FRONT OF ME AND THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT WHEEL LOCKED INTO A POSITION TURNED TO THE RIGHT. I HAD IT TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP, WHERE I WAS INFORMED THAT THE CONTROL ARM HAD SEPARATED FROM THE FRAME DUE TO RUST. IT SEEMS THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE IN 2018 FOR CERTAIN STATES, AND WHILE I DO NOT CURRENTLY RESIDE IN ONE OF THE AFFECTED STATES, I USED TO AND MY CAR DID FOR MOST OF ITS LIFE.

WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES AT APPROXIMATELY 30MPH, THERE WAS SHARP JOLT, AND THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT. THE LOW-TRACTION INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO BE SAFELY STEERED. UPON VISUAL INSPECTION, THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE WAS TURNED OUTWARD, WHILE THE FRONT LEFT REMAINED STRAIGHT. A MECHANIC CONFIRMED THAT THE ISSUE WAS CAUSED BY A FULLY CORRODED SUB-FRAME WHICH HAD CRACKED IN HALF.

MY SON WAS DRIVING THE CAR APPROXIMATELY 40MPH ON A STATE ROUTE IN A RURAL AREA AND EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND SHARP PULL TO THE RIGHT WHEN HE WAS TRYING TO BRAKE. THIS NEARLY CAUSED HIM TO HIT A TRUCK. WHEN HE REGAINED CONTROL HE NOTICED THE STEERING WHEEL WAS NOT ALIGNED WHILE GOING STRAIGHT AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO PULL TO THE RIGHT. WHEN HE MANAGED TO MAKE IT HOME WE JACKED IT UP AND REMOVED THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. I NOTICED THAT THE CROSS MEMBER ON THE RIGHT SIDE WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH. THIS WAS THE ONLY NOTICIBLY LARGE AREA OF RUST ON THE CAR. THE CAR IS NOW UNDRIVEABLE.

The contact owns a 2010 Mazda Mazda6 . The contact stated while driving approximately 25 mph and drove over a bump and lost control of the vehicle and crashed into another vehicle. The contact stated the disc off warning light was illuminated. The contact stated no one was injured nor sought medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact was towed to her residence and then to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with the rear structure was corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000. The contact stated that the dealership deemed the vehicle unsafe to bring to the shop and therefore did not perform the necessary repairs in the recall. The dealer notified the contact about that as well as the manufacturer. The contact must arrange a way to tow the vehicle off of their lot.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not safe to drive. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired. Mechanic noted that Mazda’s recall repair only served to keep the car from splitting apart, but it in no way resolved the control arm issue. As a result my car was unexpectedly swerving all over the road and was difficult to control. It was with the control arm still somewhat attached, though extremely loose. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign number 18V631000 (Suspension, structure). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 151,000. Consumer stated there is significant rust on on side, where control arm attaches to steering. Vehicle has been repaired.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AFTER LEAVING CLASS. AFTER BEING ON THE FREEWAY FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, THE CAR STARTS TO POWER DOWN. ALL OF THE CAUTION LIGHTS START TO COME ON (IE: BATTERY LIGHT, TRACTION LIGHT, OIL LIGHT AND MANY OTHERS). AS I GET OFF THE FREEWAY, THE CAR STARTS TO LOSE MORE POWER, THE FUEL ACCELERATION DID NOT WORK AS WELL AND THE STEERING BECAME VERY HARD BECAUSE SOMETHING HAPPENED TO THE POWER STEERING FLUID. THEN AS I START TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT THERE IS SMOKE COMING FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE CLOSED HOOD. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURN OFF THE ACCELERATION, AND POP THE HOOD AND I NOTICED IT IS ON FIRE. THE STICKY MATERIAL HAS GOTTEN SMEARED ONTO THE WINDSHIELD AND IS NOT REMOVABLE, THE MORE YOU TRY TO WIPE IT AWAY SO THE READ CAN BE SEEN THE MORE IT SMEARS BLOCKING MORE AND MORE OF THE VIEW. WHEN THE SUN HITS THE WINDSHIELD THE SMEARS COMPLETELY BLOCK THE BEHIND VIEW AND THE LIGHT REFLECTS OFF OF THE DASH SURFACE, NOW A STICKY SMEARED LIQUID, IT REFLECTS INTO MY EYES WHILE DRIVING CAUSING TEMPORARY BLINDNESS TO THE POINT I HAVE TO SLOW DOWN AND BRAKE SOMETIMES PULLING OFF THE ROAD DUE TO LOST VISABILITY. NO CLEANERS OR CHEMICAL DETERGENTS WERE EVER USED TO CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD, THE DASH MELTED FROM NORMAL HOT SUMMER TEMPS. APPARENTLY MAZDA KNEW OF THIS PROBLEM AND FAILED TO DISCLOSE IT AT PURCHASE, IF THEY DID I WOULD NOT OF BOUGHT IT. IT COSTS 1,500.00 TO FIX AND MAZDA REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. ONCE THIS STICKY SUBSTANCE GETS ON THE WINDSHIELD IT IS PERMANENT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT AND I'M SURE WILL LEAD TO DEATHS.

I FORGOT TO MENTION IN THE PREVIOUS COMPLAINT THAT THE MELTING PASSENGER DASHBOARD IS ACTUALLY NOT A TRUE DASHBOARD, IT IS AN AIRBAG FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER. I HAVE REASON TO BELIEVE THAT THE MELTING, PERMANENT, EXTREMELY STIKY, SEMI LIQUID EXTERIOR OF THE AIRBAG WILL FAIL TO RUPTURE PROPERLY ALLOWING FOR NORMAL DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG. IT MAY RUPTURE TOO EASILY CAUSING DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAG WITH EXCESSIVE FORCE, POSSIBLY BREAKING THE NECK OF A CHILD OR INJURING AN ADULT. IT COULD NOT RUPTURE COMPLETELY CAUSING A LAG IN THE TIME OF DEPLOYMENT AND MAY NOT INFLATE COMPLETELY. IT COULD ALSO POSSIBLY PREVENT DEPLOYMENT COMPLETELY. IN ADDITION TO CAUSING DEFECTS IN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT BLINDNESS OR EYE INJURY AS WELL AS SKIN INJURY CAN OCCUR AT TIME OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT CAUSED BY AN EXPLOSION OF THE STIKY LIQUIDATED AIRBAG SURFACE SPRAYING INTO THE FACE, EYES, AND MOUTH OF PASSENGERS. THE LIQUIFYING AIRBAG SURFACE MIGHT ALSO LEAK INTO INTERNAL AIRBAG COMPONENTS CAUSING MALFUNCTION. FOR MANY YEARS AND I'VE RUN INTO A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH MY CURRENT 2010 MAZDA 6. OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE MASTER CYLINDER MULTIPLE TIMES, WHICH I'M TO UNDERSTAND FROM THE MECHANICS IS "EXTREMELY UNLUCKY", HOWEVER I FEEL THERE IS ANOTHER UNDERLYING ISSUES. ATTACHED IS THE BRIEF TIMELINE OF THE INCIDENTS BASED ON THE PAPERWORK. REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR POWERED DOWN THE CAR HAS 'MUSHY BRAKES' WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL "COLLAPSING" TO THE FLOOR WITH LITTLE APPLIED PRESSURE. AS YOU CAN SEE I HAVE HAD THREE PREVIOUS ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THE PROBLEM ADDRESSED, WHICH WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE ISSUE WAS NOT EVEN CONSIDERED UNTIL A MECHANIC FRIEND OF MINE SUGGESTED THEY LOOK AT THE MASTER CYLINDER AS THE ROOT CAUSE, WHICH WAS LOOKED AT ON INSPECTION #3 THROUGH CHECKING OF CODES AND NOT FINALLY ADDRESSED UNTIL INSPECTION #4. I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A FUNDAMENTAL PARTS PROBLEM THAT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY MAZDA, WHICH COULD HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS LIABILITY CONCERNS FOR THE COMPANY SHOULD THERE BE ANY FURTHER DEFECTIVE PARTS MANUFACTURED AND INSTALLED. I AM COMFORTABLE SAYING THAT AS I HAVE NOT HEARD ONE COMMENT OR STATEMENT FROM GALLO MAZDA ABOUT CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER OR MAZDA CORPORATE ABOUT ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. AS OF THIS DATE, THE CAR IS STILL HAVING THE "MUSHY BRAKE" FEEL, WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL "COLLAPSING" TO THE FLOOR WITH LITTLE PRESSURE AND I BELIEVE THE RECENTLY REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER HAS BEGUN TO FAIL. THE CAR WILL BE RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. I CONSIDER IT UNFAIR AND UNETHICAL TO PAY FOR SAFETY/MANUFACTURING ISSUES THAT MAZDA SHOULD ADDRESS, NOT ME AS THE CUSTOMER.

While im driving the steering is shifting to the right and seems lower on right side. My tires daily need to have air in them because of the uneven weight. While I drive and let go of the gas the car pulls back like an E brake could be stuck not sure though. No accidents at all but it seems like the vehicle is getting weaker and weaker with the uneven weight going down on the tires and steering seems like it's going to crash onto the right without being able to control it.

The wheels were turning in and the steering was really hard to keep straight had to turn the steering wheel almost half around car make Loud screaming noises.tires went flat ..i have 6 grandkids lucky I wasn't going fast the car could of flipped .subframe broke in half on passenger side rusted right out.i got this car from right way dealership in Saginaw Michigan in march of 2019 they never told me or never contacted me that there was a recall for the subframe breaking.could of killed someone!!!!

I purchased this vehicle for my 16 yr old daughter 1 yr ago. The car has a clean carfax and has had no accidents. Upon purchasing the car the headlights continue to burn out. Taking it to a Mazda dealership i learned the headlight assembly unit was melting. I had to purchase 2 used headlight assembly because new from the dealership are 1,000 a piece. 2 used but perfectly working headlights were installed and within a yr the headlights had burned out again. I went to change the bulbs only to learn the headlight assembly were once again burnt. I have to purchase 2 new headlight assembly again but the mechanic can not guarantee that this burning situation won't occur. After calling around to places to find headlight assembly I have come to find out many are burnt. This seems like a real problem considering you need headlights to drive at night. Spending 1,000 everytime my headlights burn out seems 100% unreasonable and the fact that there is cleary a wiring issue within the headlight assembly unit itself seems to be a problem. I have been on multiple forums and this is a common issue. Please fix the problem!!!!!!

SECOND ISSUE: EVERY WINTER WHEN IT GETS COLDER THE CARS ELECTRONIC SYSTEM SEEMS TO RUN MUCH SLOWER AND THE BLUE TOOTH, CD PLAYER, ETC. WILL NOT CONNECT AND THERE HAS BEE THREE INSTANCES WHERE THE CAR WILL MAKE A LOUD POPPING NOISE WHILE IT IS IN MOTION AND THE WHOLE STEREO SYSTEM, BLUE TOOTH, DASHBOARD LIGHTS WILL POWER OFF AND I'LL HAVE TO RESET UP THE BLUE TOOTH.

I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, WHEN I NOTICED THAT MY STEERING WAS NOT WORKING RIGHT. EVERY TIME I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD IT BECAME HARD TO CONTROL. ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2018 I TOOK MY 2010 MAZDA 6I TO A LOCAL MAZDA DEALERSHIP TO GET PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE DONE ON THE VEHICLE, REPLACING THE DRIVE BELT. WHEN THE MAZDA TECH STARTED THE JOB, HE DISCOVERED THAT THE ENTIRE FRONT SUB-FRAME THAT HOLDS THE FRONT END SUSPENSION, STEERING COMPONENTS, MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION WAS RUSTED AND ROTTED OUT WITH SEVERAL HOLES AND FLAKING METAL. THE TECH WAS UNABLE TO PERFORM THE JOB AS HE STATED HE COULD NOT REMOVE THE SUB-FRAME AND KEEP IT IN TACT. THE TECH REPORTED THAT THIS CREATED A HAZARDOUS AND UNSAFE CONDITION AND THAT UNTIL REPAIRED WITH A NEW OR OTHER-WISE IN-TACT SUB-FRAME THE CAR WOULD BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. UPON CHECKING ON-LINE I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS QUICKLY BECOMING A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE MAZDA 6 OF THIS MODEL YEAR (2009 TO 2019). THE SUB-FRAME SHOULD NOT BE THAT ROTTED OUT IN A 2010 VEHICLE WITH 101921 MILES ON IT AND NO RUST ON THE BODY.

I BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING, ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING AT INTERSECTIONS, IT MADE SOME BANG/BUMP NOISES, AND FELT LIKE THE FRONT WHEELS WEREN'T TURNING UNLESS I REALLY CRANKED THE STEERING WHEEL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR AN EVALUATION, AND THEY PROMPTLY PULLED IT OFF THE ROAD, TELLING ME IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. TURNS OUT THE FRONT SUBFRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAD RUSTED OUT SO BADLY THAT IT WAS ALMOST SPLIT INTO TWO PIECES, AND I COULD LITERALLY POKE HOLES THROUGH THE RUSTED AREAS, AFFECTING THE OPERATION OF BOTH THE STEERING AND SUSPENSION. IF THE SUBFRAME HAD INDEED SPLIT, ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC, THE STEERING WOULD'VE FAILED AND I COULD'VE LOST THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL.

HEARD A KNOCK WHILE DRIVING (AS THOUGH HITTING POTHOLE). NEXT DAY STEERING COLUMN FELT LOOSE, BREAKS SEEMED WORN AND SOUND ON SHARP TURNS. LATER THAT DAY WHILE DRIVING IN CITY, WENT OVER A NORMAL DIP IN THE ROAD AND HEARD A CRACK/LOUDER KNOCK. WHEEL TURNED TO THE LEFT, EVEN THOUGH DRIVING STRAIGHT. WHEN APPLYING BRAKES, WHEEL NOW TURNED TO THE RIGHT. PULLED ASIDE AND RAN OVER CURB AS BRAKES WERE NOT AS EFFECTIVE. INITIAL DIAGNOSIS: BRAKES AND BEARINGS NEED REPAIR (ALTHOUGH THESE WERE REPLACED LESS THAN 5 MONTHS AGO). NEXT DIAGNOSIS: SUBFRAME PSG. SIDE COMPLETELY ROTTED AND CRACKED. WILL TAKE A MONTH TO REPAIR [RENTAL PROVIDED]. NOTE- THE PAST 6 MONTHS I'VE HAD OTHER ISSUES INCLUDING: ELECTRICAL (FUSE FOR RADIO/LOCKS/INT LIGHTS KEEPS BREAKING; AFTER 1.5 HOUR DIAGNOSTIC CAUSE STILL UNKNOWN. CHOSE TO REPLACE FUSE AS NEEDED- WEEKLY TO MONTHLY); 3 TIRES HAVE GONE (EVEN THOUGH 2 WERE FAIRLY NEW; NEEDED ALIGNMENT); BRAKES AND BEARINGS TWICE. COULD BE REGULAR WEAR AND TEAR OR COULD BE RELATED.

I WAS ON A CITY STREET TRAVELLING AROUND 35 MPH. WHILE APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT AND APPLYING THE BRAKES THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED PULLING TO THE RIGHT AND ALMOST PULLED THE ENTIRE VEHICLE INTO A DITCH. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP AT THE EDGE OF THE GRASS. I PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER FURTHER TO AVOID TRAFFIC AND NOTICED THE RIGHT TIRE WAS NOW TOUCHING THE WHEEL WELL. BOTH CREATE SAFETY HAZARDS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY YET THE MELTED DASHBOARD HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR OVER TWO YEARS AND I AM STILL AWAITING FROM MAZDA THE SECOND LETTER THEY PROMISED TO SEND ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO REPAIR. THE RUBBER OR PLASTIC THAT IS MELTING IS CONVERTING INTO A GLUE LIKE SUBSTANCE THAT GETS ON MY CLOTH SEATS AND WORST OF ALL, IN MY WINDSHIELD WHICH CAUSES GLARE AND DISRUPTS MY VISION. AS I TRIED TO CLEAN IT IT BEGAN TO SEPARATE AS IF IT WAS TAR. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE PASSENGER IN REGARDS TO THE AIRBAG IS UNDER THIS DASH AND FOR THE DRIVER BEING BLINDED BY THE REFLECTION OF THE MELTING DASHBOARD AS IT IS SHINY. I CHECKED WITH MAZDA AND THE SAID THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR IT AND WOULD NOT COVER ANY COST TO FIX IT. MY VEHICLE IS A 2010 MAZDA 6. I FEEL THE MAZDA SHOULD COVER THIS BECAUSE THEY SOLD A CAR WITH DEFECTIVE MATERIALS THAT CAN COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT CALLED SENTRY WEST MAZDA AT 508-281-8171 (LOCATED AT 940 BOSTON TURNPIKE, SHREWSBURY, MA 01545) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD AND THE STEERING LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE ENTIRE SUB-CARRIAGE WAS COVERED IN RUST & CORROSION, THERE WERE HOLES, PIECES OF METAL FROM THE CAR MISSING AND MAJOR CRACKS ALL UNDERNEATH AND ENCASING THE BRAKES AND OTHER PART OF CAR. WAS TOLD IF I HAD GONE A BIT FASTER ON 95, BOTTOM WOULD HAVE FALLEN LEADING TO SERIOUS ACCIDENT. NOTE: THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS WITH MAZDA6 AND MAZDA HAS DONE NOTHING. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE CAR VEERED TO THE RIGHT CAUSING HER TO GO INTO THE RIGHT LANE AS SHE WAS IN THE LEFT LANE. SHE WAS JUST A FEW MILES AWAY FROM THE EXIT IN WHICH WE LIVE JUST OFF THE INTERSTATE SO SHE WAS ABLE TO LIMP THE CAR HOME. LATER THAT EVENING WHEN I WENT TO LOOK AT IT I NOTICED IMMEDIATELY THAT THE PASSENGER TIRE WAS POINTING OUTWARD A LITTLE BIT. I JACKED THE CAR UP LOOKING TO SEE IF A TIE ROD OR CONTROL ARM HAD BROKE ONLY TO FIND THAT NEITHER HAD BROKE. I LOOKED AT THE FRAME AND SEEN HOW BADLY IT WAS RUSTED AND NOTICED IT ACTUALLY HAD BROKEN APART AND WAS SHIFTED. THIS AREA OF THE SUBFRAME IS DIRECTLY UNDER THE A/C UNIT WHICH DRIPS STRAIGHT DOWN ONTO THE FRAME AREA THAT IS ROTTED. WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY THE REASON THE THE FRAME RUSTED AND BROKE AND SHIFTED CAUSING THE TIRE TO POINT OUTWARD. CALLED MAZDA AND THEY SENT A TOW TRUCK TO RETRIEVE THE CAR. CURRENTLY WAITING ON THEIR INSPECTION AND A CALL FROM MAZDA CORP TO SEE IF THEY WILL BE COVERING THE REPAIR. AFTER READING EVERYONE ELSE'S ISSUES WITH THIS VERY SAME PROBLEM I'M ASSUMING MAZDA WILL TELL ME IT'S OUR PROBLEM. THE CAR IS ONLY 8 YEARS OLD AND I'VE SEEN OTHER'S WHO'S CAR ARE EVEN NEWER AND MAZDA IS TELLING EVERYONE IT'S NOT DEFECTIVE. THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS MADE OF A MATERIAL THAT MELTS DURING HOT SUNNY PERIODS AND TAKES ON A REFLECTIVE SURFACE WHICH ACTS LIKE A MIRROR. WHEN SUNLIGHT HITS THE SURFACE NOT ONLY IS THE SUN REFLECTED OFF THE SURFACE OF THE DASHBOARD BUT IT'S ALSO PROJECTED ONTO THE WINDSHIELD INSTANTLY BLINDING THE DRIVER OF THE RIGHT HALF OF THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD, TURNING THE WHOLE SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD INTO YET ANOTHER MIRROR BOUNCING DIRECT SUNLIGHT INTO THE EYES OF THE DRIVER INSTANTLY BLINDING THEM. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING ON THE NJ TURNPIKE AND THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR LIGHT CAME ON. WITHIN A MINUTE THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT. MY SON TOOK MY CAR TO SCHOOL. HE WAS GOING TO LEAVE AFTER SCHOOL LET OUT, HE WAS GOING TO GIVE HIS FRIEND A RIDE HOME. THIS IS A 6 SPEED CAR. HIS FRIEND GOT IN THE CAR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, MY SON WAS TALKING TO HIS BROTHER, HE WAS NOT IN THE CAR. MY SON HAD PUT THE KEYS ON THE DRIVER SEAT, HIS FRIEND PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND TURNED THE KEY TO ACCESSORIES TO LISTEN TO THE RADIO, THE CAR HAD THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON, AND IT WAS IN FIRST GEAR. WHEN HE TURNED THE KEY TO LISTEN TO THE RADIO THE CAR TOOK OFF!!!! I AM NOT SURE HOW FAST IT WAS GOING BUT IT CRASHED INTO A TREE AND STOPPED. THERE WAS NO DRIVER!! THERE IS A POLICE REPORT ON THIS, AND THERE WERE SEVERAL WITNESSES. MY SON'S FRIEND HIT HIS HEAD ON THE WINDSHIELD AND IT CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD. TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND THEY CLAIM IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY AS IT IS "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR". CALLED MAZDA AND THEY TOO REFUSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM UNDER THE WARRANTY.

LEASED NEW 2010 MAZDA 6 OCTOBER 2009. ABOUT 3 MONTHS LATER, I TURNED THE LUMBAR ADJUSTMENT KNOB, AND A LOUD POP HAPPENS AND THE KNOB STARTS FREEWHEELING. THE LUMBAR KNOB CONNECTION (SHAFT/WHATEVER IT IS) TO THE INTERNALS BROKE. MANY MONTHS LATER, I CALLED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AT THE SAME TIME AS A RECALL CAME OUT. MEDICAL CONDITIONS PREVENTED ME FROM KEEPING THAT APPOINTMENT, SO I CALLED AND CANCELED IT. SO TODAY, 10/07/11 I TOOK IT IN FOR THE RECALL AND THE BROKEN LUMBAR KNOB CONNECTION SO THAT PARTS COULD BE ORDERED TO FIX IT. TURNS OUT THERE WERE 2 OTHER RECALLS TOO, SO THAT WAS ADDED TO THE LIST. ABOUT 2 1/2 HOURS LATER, THE CAR IS BROUGHT UP. THE SERVICE ADVISER SAYS THAT THE TECH SEES THERE ARE AFTERMARKET SEAT COVERS ON THE SEATS, AND THEREFORE WHOEVER PUT THOSE ON, BROKE THE LUMBAR KNOB CONNECTION. (THE AFTERMARKET SEAT COVERS ARE ON THERE BECAUSE THE MATERIAL USED FOR THIS MODELS SEATS IS PRONE TO EXCESSIVE WEAR, AND SINCE THIS IS A LEASE, I DON'T WANT THAT.) I ADVISED THE SERVICE ADVISER AND SERVICE MANAGER THAT THE SEAT COVERS WERE JUST RECENTLY PUT ON, (LAST WEEK OF AUGUST 2011) AND IN NO WAY HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE BROKEN LUMBAR KNOB CONNECTION. THE SERVICE ADVISER SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE TO BRING IT IN ANOTHER TIME FOR THE REGIONAL REP TO LOOK AT IT, TO DETERMINE IF IT WOULD BE FIXED OR NOT. I AGAIN ADVISED, THAT IT HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, AND BESIDES THAT, IT'S JUST NYLON FABRIC THAT'S PUT OVER THE SEAT CUSHIONS. AND THEY WERE NOT EVEN ON WHEN IT HAPPENED. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT'S THE ONLY WAY THAT THE DEALERSHIP CAN GET PAID FOR IT, IS IF THE REP SAYS SO. SO, THE SERVICE MANAGER, SERVICE WRITER, AND TECHNICIAN AT BOB MOORE MAZDA OKC ARE SAYING I'M LYING ABOUT HOW THE LUMBAR KNOB CONNECTION BROKE. ALSO, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO ME, THE TECH HAD REINSTALLED THE SEAT BELT TWISTED. SHOWS THE QUALITY OF SERVICE THERE. *TR
