THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

I THOUGHT A LEAF WAS HANGING FROM BELOW MY CAR WHEN PARKED. IT TURNED OUT THAT THE FLOORBOARD IS COMPLETELY CORRODED THROUGH TO THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP SINCE PURCHASED IN LATE 2006. THEY EXPLAINED THAT IT WOULD COST BETWEEN $2,000 TO $3,000 TO GET REPAIRED. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 9 YEARS AND MUCH OF THIS TIME IT PARKED IN THE GARAGE DURING THE WINTER. I WAS SURE DAMAGE WAS NOT A EXPECTED DETERIORATION BASED ON NORMAL USE. THIS WAS CONFIRMED LATER BY RESEARCHING ON LINE AND SEEING OTHER COMPLAINTS.

MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED A 2007 NISSAN MAXIMA FROM B.M.W AUTO DALLAS LLC. THE VEHICLE WAS ADVERTISED AS HAVING 137,000 MILES. DESPITE OTHER ISSUES WITH THE CAR, THE DECIDING FACTOR FOR THE PURCHASE WAS THE LOW MILES. AFTER PURCHASE, OUR MECHANIC DISCOVERED WHAT HE DESCRIBED AS "SHADY BUSINESS" UNDER THE HOOD AND RECOMMENDED WE CHECK THE VIN THROUGH CARFAX, AUTOCHECK, ETC. WE PURCHASED AN AUTOCHECK VEHICLE REPORT AND DISCOVERED THE ODOMETER WAS ROLLED BACK. FROM 166K IN 2016 TO 112K IN 1018. THE DEALER DID NOT DISCLOSE INFORMATION THAT WOULD HAVE IMPACTED PRICE, AT A MINIMUM AND OUR OVERALL BUYING DECISION. THE MILEAGE FRAUD ALSO IMPACTS THE FUTURE SELLING PRICE OF THE VEHICLE.

TIMING CHAIN AND AND ALL THE PLASTIC GUIDES FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. NEVER KNEW UNTIL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK TO DEALER TO GET CHECKED, COME TO FIND OUT THAT THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY TIMING CHAINS HAVE BOTH FAILED.

THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDS TO BE OVERHAULED DUE TO FAULTY GUIDES. THE ENGINE MAKES A WHINING NOISE AND AUTHORIZED NISSAN DEALER INDICATED IT WAS DUE TO THE TIMING CHAIN.

ON APRIL 3, 2016 I STARTED MY 2007 NISSAN MAXIMA WHICH THE ENGINE SHOOK THEN STALLED AFTER RUNNING FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS. HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER WHICH INFORMED ME THAT THE TIMING JUMP AND BENT VALVES NOW NEEDING A NEW ENGINE. AFTER RESEARCHING FOUND THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR THEIR TIMING CHAIN GUIDE WHICH CAUSES THE TIMING CHAIN TO JUMP AND DAMAGE THE ENGINE. READING HOW DANGEROUS WHEN ANY OF THESE OCCUR WHILE THE VEHICLES ARE IN MOTION, OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLES ARE EXPOSED TO REAR END COLLISIONS AND OTHER ACCIDENTS CAUSED BY THE DRIVER'S INABILITY TO MAINTAIN AN APPROPRIATE SPEED ON THE ROAD. THE FACT THAT THE TIMING CHAIN SYSTEMS ARE PRONE TO PREMATURE FAILURE IS ALSO MATERIAL TO CONSUMERS BECAUSE THERE IS NO SAFE ALTERNATIVE WAY FOR OWNERS OF THE SUBJECT NISSAN VEHICLES TO AVOID THE RISK OF POTENTIAL HARM. AS A RESULT OF ITS FAILURE TO DISCLOSE THE MATERIAL FACT THAT THE TIMING CHAIN SYSTEMS INSTALLED IN THE SUBJECT NISSAN VEHICLES ARE PRONE TO PREMATURE FAILURE, NISSAN HAS RECKLESSLY PLACED THE SAFETY OF OWNERS AND OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLES AT RISK. TRAVELING AT 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY MY NEW TIMING CHAIN FAILED CAUSING "CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE" ON A CAR FOR WHICH I AM DILIGENT ABOUT MAINTENANCE. AGAIN, ALMOST KILLED ON THE HIGHWAY! HAD TO BUY A BRAND NEW ENGINE AT A COST OF $8100!" - 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER OWNER / LEWISTON, MAINE. AS YOU SEE BY THIS ARTICLE HOW DANGEROUS THIS ISSUE WITH NISSAN IS AND THEY ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. NOW MY ENGINE WILL NOT START AND NISSAN REFUSES TO INSTALL AND NEW ENGINE WHEN THEY NOW IT IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT. THIS IS MY SECOND ENGINE IN MY 2007 NISSAN MAXIMA, THE FIRST ONE BLEW WHEN MY DAUGHTER DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE PISTON EXPLODED OUT OF THE BLOCK AND ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE BECAUSE THE TIMING CHAIN FAILED.

I HAD TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION JAN 2018 WITH NO ASSISTANCE FROM NISSAN. NOT EVEN A BREAK ON REPLACEMENT PRICING. 2007 MAXIMA WITH 78000 NOT DRIVEN HARD OR ON THE HIGHWAY FOR VERY LONG UNTIL 2 YEARS AGO. NOW THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION IS WHINING AND FLUCTUATION IN RPM'S. LAST MONTH I WAS PULLING INTO A SHOPPING CENTER ACROSS 3 LANES AND MY CAR ACCELERATED TO 2-3 MILES AND HOUR AND NO FASTER. I WAS THANKFUL I LEFT A LOT OF ROOM OTHERWISE THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A NASTY ACCIDENT. I ONLY HAVE 7000 MILE ON THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION AND IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS WAS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL, THE LADY I SPOKE WITH SEEMS QUITE INDIFFERENT IN OUR CONVERSATION. I'M SURE SHE GETS A LOT OF ANGRY CALLS. I SPOKE WITH A TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP THAT TOLD ME THESE TRANSMISSIONS FAIL ALL OF THE TIME EVEN THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION. PRICE GOUGING AND SELLING BAD PARTS JUST TO INCREASE THEIR PROFIT MARGINS KNOWING NO INTERVENTION WILL HAPPEN.

THE CVT TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED IN AUGUST 2016. THE CAR WAS JERKY AND THEN WOULDN'T GO INTO ANY GEAR ONCE I PULLED IT OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. NISSAN KNEW THERE WERE PROBLEMS WITH THE CVT'S - AND HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FROM 5 YEARS AND 50,000 MILES TO 10 YEARS AND 100,000 MILES. THE CVT IN MY CAR WENT AT 9 YEARS (UNDER THE 10 YEARS) BUT OVER THE 100,000 MILES. SINCE NISSAN KNEW THERE WERE PROBLEMS, THEY SHOULD HAVE RECALLED THE TRANSMISSIONS INSTEAD OF EXTENDING THE WARRANTY. IT COST ME OVER $3,000 - WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN HANDLED WITH A RECALL. NISSAN ALSO STATES THAT THEY WILL LOWER THE COST OF THE REFURBISHED CVT AND THE REPAIRS IF OUT OF WARRANTY - YET THE PRICE WAS $3,119.60.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 140,200.

WHEN DRIVING H THE VEHICLE HAD A LOSS OF POWER WHEN THERE WAS A HILL AND THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS LESS THAN 35 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND HAS BEEN TO A NISSAN MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE RPMS ON THE VEHICLE WILL BOUNCE BETWEEN 2000 TO 4000 RPM OR MORE BUT THE VEHICLE WILL STILL NOT ACCELERATE ANY FURTHER. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ON THE ROAD. THE PROBLEM IS RECURRING AND HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. THE NISSAN MECHANIC SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL THERE WAS A CODE SENSOR TO LOOK AT. WE WERE ALSO INFORMED TO BUY NEW TIRES WITH THE THINKING THAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE WARNING INDICATORS REMAINED ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING CAUTIOUSLY TO HIS RESIDENCE AND UPON ARRIVAL THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE ABS ACTUATOR AND BOTH REAR BRAKE SENSORS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS TAKEN AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC; HOWEVER THEY ADVISED FOR THAT TYPE OF REPAIR THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. AFTER LEAVING HOME & DRIVING 1 MILE THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE TO HIGHWAY SPEED AND HAD DIFFICULTY GOING OVER 30 MPH. AT JUST OVER 40 MPH THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AT OVER 4,500 RPM. NOT WANTING TO RISK DRIVING THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY TO THE NEAREST NISSAN DEALER (20+ MI.), I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A SHOP CLOSER TO HOME. WHEN I DROVE TO THE SHOP IT WAS DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN ANY SPEED OVER 40 MPH AND THE CAR SLOWED TO UNDER 25 MPH GOING UP AN INCLINE. HALF WAY TO THE SHOP, APPROX. 4 MILES, SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS LIT UP ON THE DASH. AT THE SHOP THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THE ABS BRAKE SYSTEM WAS SHOWING A PROBLEM WITH THE RIGHT REAR SENSOR, AFTER TALKING TO THE NISSAN DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR IT WAS DECIDED THAT THE RIGHT REAR ABS SENSOR SHOULD BE REPLACED. THAT WAS DONE BUT IT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. MORE PHONE CALLS WERE MADE AND THE CONSENSUS WAS THAT THE ABS ACTUATOR (CONTROL UNIT) NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE NISSAN DEALER INDICATED THAT ABS BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEMS ARE COMMON WITH THIS VEHICLE. A FAILURE OF SUCH A CRITICAL PART IN THE ABS BRAKE SYSTEM WOULD BE VERY DANGEROUS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.. THIS WAS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR AND THE ABS SYSTEM CONTROL UNIT IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. WITH A VEHICLE WITH JUST OVER 50,000 MILES, IT SEEMS LIKE THERE IS A DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING PROBLEM HERE.

I'M HAVING A HIGH PITCH WHINE COMING ESPECIALLY FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE PITCH GETS LOUDER WITH RPM CHANGES. IT'S CONSTANTLY THERE, AS SOON AS THE CAR IS ON, WHETHER THE CAR IS IDLING, ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING. THIS WHINE COMES FROM THE SPEAKERS, BECAUSE WHEN I DISCONNECTED THE OEM BOSE AMPLIFIER, THE NOISE WAS GONE. I BELIEVE THIS IS KNOWN AS THE "ALTERNATOR WHINE" SO I CHANGED A NEW ALTERNATOR TOLD BY THE DEALER, AND CHANGED TO ANOTHER OEM BOSE AMPLIFIER, BUT THE "WHINE" STILL REMAINS. TOOK MY CAR IN FOR A OIL CHANGE AND AFTER THE OIL CHANGE AND THE CHANGE OF BELTS MY CAR STARTED MAKING A NOISE WHEN THE HEAT OR AIR WAS TURNED ON. 2 MONTHS LATER WHEN I TURNED ON MY AIR CONDITION NO AIR WAS COMING THROUGH. TOOK IT BACK TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY AIR PRESSURE PUMP HAD A LEAK IN IT. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT WITH A 2007 CAR THAT I WOULD HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM THIS SOON!!! NOTHING WAS DONE TO REPAIR MY CAR. I OVER HEARD THE TWO SERVICE GUYS SAY THAT "OH YA, THAT'S GOING TO TAKE A PAYCHECK". NOT KNOWING THAT I WAS STILL LISTENING. I FEEL THAT THEY DID NOT CARE ABOUT ME OR WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH MY CAR ALL THEY WANTED WAS FOR ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. I TOLD THEM THAT MY HUSBAND WAS DEPLOYED AND HAD TWO SMALL CHILDREN THAT HAD ASTHMA AND THE HEAT WOULD TRIGGER THEIR ASTHMA AND ON THIS DAY IT WAS ALREADY 78 DEGREES. ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 19, 2007 I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. AS THE SERVICE ADVISOR CHECKED ME IN I MADE HIM AWARE THAT MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND MY CAR WAS PERIODICALLY STALLING. INSTEAD OF THOROUGHLY CHECKING MY CAR OUT, BEING THAT I EXPLAINED THAT IT WASN'T RUNNING RIGHT, THE ADVISOR SAID THERE WERE A FEW TRANSMISSION CODES BUT THEY JUST RESET THE COMPUTER. I CONTINUE TO DRIVE MY CAR AND IT STILL PERIODICALLY STALLED BUT ON FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 28, 2007 MY CAR BEGAN STALLING AND JERKING SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE TECHNICIAN RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND THE SAME CODES FROM THE PRIOR WEEKS VISIT CAME UP. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NEED TO KEEP MY CAR FOR EXTENSIVE WORK. I WAS AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP GETTING A NEW INTELLI-KEY MADE FOR THE CAR WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK BROKE. I FOUND OUT THIS WOULD BE THE THIRD TIME THIS LOCKING MECHANISM HAS BEEN REPLACED ON THIS CAR ALONE. THE TECHNICIAN TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT AND THE LOCK BROKE AND LOCKED INTO PLACE. HOW MANY TIMES DOES THE SAME PART HAVE TO BREAK ON A NISSAN BEFORE YOU CONSIDER IT TO BE A BAD PART? THE STEERING LOCK WAS RECALLED BEFORE IT LEFT THE FACTORY, REPLACED 2 TIMES OVER THE NEXT 7 YEARS. I'm not sure what happened but all I know is my turns over but will not start. It has new battery, new alternator, both camshaft position sensors replaced. It has been at the mechanic shop for 2 weeks and they can't figure out the program. I have heard that the security system may have locked up on it preventing it from cranking but I am not sure but all I know is I don't have the money to get it towed or fixed now cuz I have already had to pay to get it towed and the shop. I AM NOT SURE IF THE PROBLEM REALLY EXIST. THE RESULTING DIAGNOSIS IS BASED ON A FAINT WHINE DETECTED BY THE TECHNICIAN (WHILE STATIONARY) AND A DEFINITE DETERMINATION CAN ONLY BE MADE BY A PHYSICAL EXAMINATION OF THE TIMING GUIDE. TO DO THIS WOULD REQUIRE REMOVING PARTS. BUT WHEN THOSE PARTS ARE REMOVED THE GUIDE AND CHAIN WILL NEED REPLACING EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT DEFECTIVE. NISSAN HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE PROBLEM DATING BACK TO THE 2004 MODEL AND NO DEFINITIVE DIAGNOSTIC METHOD IS AVAILABLE THAT WILL NOT COST THE OWNER A REPAIR THAT IS SOME TIMES UNNECESSARY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND A NEW TIRE WAS INSTALLED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED HER TO SEND THEM THE FAULTY TIRE. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE TIRES SHOULD BE RECALLED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,900 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,000.

WE OWNED THE CAR FOR LESS THAN ONE MONTH AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS BECAUSE THE GAS CAP WASN'T FULLY CLOSED AND WE WOULD BE CHARGED $100 TO TURN OFF THE SERVICE LIGHT. THE INTELLIGENT KEY IS NOT BEING RECOGNIZED BY THE VEHICLE. ACTS AS IF THE KEY IS NOT WITHIN THE READING RANGE. THIS CAUSES THE DOORS TO STAY LOCKED/UNLOCKED WHEN USING THE FOB. IT STARTED WITH THE CAR NOT GOING OVER 40 MPH THE FIRST FEW MINUTES OF DRIVING AND THEN IT WOULD BE OK. I DIDN'T GET CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY WARNING SIGNS, SO I DROVE IT LIKE THAT FOR 5 MONTHS UNTIL THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING, AND IT WON'T GO OVER 20 MPH. STILL NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE ENGINE TIMING CHAIN WAS OUT ALONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE REPAIR COST WAS OVER $8000. A 12 YEAR-OLD CAR WITH 114,000 MILES IS HEADED TO THE JUNK YARD. HAVING A SECURE ENVIRONMENT IS PARAMOUNT IN CERTAIN NEIGHBORHOODS. WHEN LOCKING THE DOORS IT'S IMPERATIVE NOBODY CAN GAIN ACCESS AT WILL BY WALKING UP TO THE CAR. IF ANYONE CAN SIMPLY OPEN THE DOOR TO GAIN ACCESS, CARJACKING, INJURY, OR EVEN MURDER IS EASIER. IF THE DOORS LOCKED PROPERLY THIS PROVIDES A MORE SECURE ENVIRONMENT FOR THIS TYPE OF SCENARIO. 2. NISSAN KNOWING THERE IS A SECURITY PROBLEM WITH THEIR LOCKING MECHANISM AND NOT RECALLING THEM FOR SAFETY CONCERN IS NEGLIGENT. THIS CAR OBVIOUSLY WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND DOES NOT SHOW UP ON ANY VEHICLE HISTORY REPORT BUT I AM UNABLE TO PROVE IT. THE VALUE OF THE CAR AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE WAS $4,000. THE COVER OVER THE MOON ROOF WAS CLOSED SO THAT PREVENTED ANY GLASS FROM ENTERING AND CUTTING ME. I PULLED OFF AT THE NEXT EXIT TO FIND A GAPPING HOLE, SHATTERED GLASS ON THE ROOF AND MY HEART BEATING RAPIDLY. ONCE I GOT HOME I TAPED THE ROOF AND BY THE TIME I GOT TO THE REPAIR SHOP THE NEXT DAY THE PRESSURE CAUSED THE ROOF TO REOPEN AND CONTINUE TO BREAK. I CONTACTED NISSAN TO SEE IF THIS VEHICLE WAS UNDER RECALL AND THEY SAID NO. THE COST WAS MY EXPENSE. NOW I DO NOT OPEN THE SHADE AT ALL FOR FEAR OF THIS HAPPENING AGAIN RESULTING IN INJURY. I LIVE IN A VERY HOT AND HUMID AND RAINY CLIMATE AND WHEN THIS OCCURED THE TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE 70'S, AND THE TIME OF DAY WAS APPROX 6:45PM. I ASKED THE GLASS COMPANY HAD THEY HAD ANY CUSTOMERS IN WITH THIS PROBLEM AND THEY AFFIRMED. THE MOON ROOF GLASS WAS ORDERED AND SHIPPED DIRECTLY TO THE GLASS COMPANY AND MY CAR WAS OUT OF COMMISSION FOR A FEW DAYS. THE MOON ROOF DOES NOT OPEN AT ALL, IT WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY. IF A SAFETY NOTICE HAD BEEN ATTACHED I MORE THAN LIKELY WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE.

MY ABS/TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM FAILED. DUE TO THE SYSTEM FAILING THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONS. THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT THE RECOMMENDED SPEED. DUE TO THE ABS/TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM FAILING MY VEHICLE DECELERATED QUICKLY CAUSING A UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR ME, MY PASSENGER AND THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME. FORTUNATELY THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME WAS AT A SAFE DISTANCE AND NO ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO SAFE LOCATION BECAUSE THIS MALFUNCTION CAUSES THE TRANSMISSION TO NOT SHIFT FROM A LOW GEAR. I WAS DRIVING NORTH ON E I-94 AT THE POSTED SPEED WHEN THE CALL STARTED TO SLOW DOWN AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 40 MILES PER HOUR. THE SLUGGISH SPEED CONTINUED OFF AND ON UNTIL I REACHED MY DESTINATION. ON MY RETURN TRIP HOME, THE MULTITUDE OF LIGHTS CAME ON DURING THE DRIVE (TCS OFF, BRAKE, ABS, SLIP) AND THE CAR WOULD PERIODICALLY GO BETWEEN SLUGGISH AND REGULAR SPEED. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE CAR WAS DIAGNOSED WITH HAVE A BAD ABS ACTUATOR AND ONE BAD SPEED SENSOR, TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS ABOUT $2400. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED. THE CONTACT WOULD ADD FUEL TO THE VEHICLE BUT THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY ADVISED THAT THE UNIFIED UNIT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.

2007 NISSAN MAXIMA ABS ACTIVATES WITH NORMAL BRAKING. THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN NTB07-016B FOR THIS PROBLEM WHICH IS CLEARLY A DESIGN DEFECT FROM NISSAN. AS I WAS DRIVING AND CATCHING SPEED I NOTICED MY CAR SLIPPED INTO A LOWER GEAR I WOULD HEAR ABS ENGAGING AND IF I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL ABS WOULD BE ACTIVATED. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NO WARRANTY THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST ME $1,200 TO REPLACE THE BEARINGS AND THE SENSORS AS THEY WERE CORRODED DUE TO WATER AND DIRT TRAPPED WHERE THE SENSORS REST. THE SERVICE BULLETIN CLEARLY STATES THAT A PIECE HAS TO BE GRINDED OFF ON KNUCKLE IN ORDER TO ALLOW PROPER DRAINAGE OF WATER AND DIRT. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR TO BE DONE COMING OUT OF CONSUMERS POCKETS DUE TO THE OBVIOUS DESIGN DEFECT FROM NISSAN. THEY SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ONGOING DEFECT AND A RECALL SHOULD BE MANDATED TO CORRECT THIS POTENTIAL HAZARD WHILE DRIVING. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECREASE IN POWER. HE RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND WHEN DEPRESSING IT A SECOND TIME, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT ASSUMED THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF FUEL, YET THE FAILURE CORRECTED ITSELF. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR OFTEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE DEALER ADVISED HIM THAT THE ABS SENSOR WOULD NEED REPLACING. IN ADDITION, BOTH KNUCKLES AND THE HUB WOULD NEED MODIFICATION. THE DEALER DISABLED THE ABS SYSTEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,966.

I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN MAXIMA AND MY CAR SHOT OUT OF A CAR WASH AND ACROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND CRASHED INTO FEDERAL PROPERTY. AFTER THE CAR WAS PUSHED FROM THE DRY OPTION I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TOOK THE CAR OUT OF NEUTRAL, PUT IT INTO DRIVE AND THE CAR TOOK OFF LIKE A ROCKET. I HAD BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKES AND HAD TO USE TWO HANDS TO STEER THE CAR AWAY FROM TRAFFIC. I HAD THE CHOICE OF A LIGHT POLE OR A FENCE ON FEDERAL PROPERTY. I DECIDED ON THE FENCE TO BE THE LEAST DAMAGING. MY GRANDSON WAS IN THE CAR AND IT ALL HAPPENED WITHIN TWO MINUTES. I MADE EYE CONTRACT WITH DRIVERS TO MY LEFT AND RIGHT AND HONKED MY HORN AND EVERYONE AROUND SAW I WAS HAVING A PROBLEM AND THEY STOPPED. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR...THIS BEING THE LATEST. SINCE BUYING THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD REPLACED BECAUSE IT WARPED, THE RADIO REPLACED, THE CHROME RAILS ON TOP OF THE CAR REPLACED AND NOW I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE BECAUSE I WAS HEARING A "CHIRPING" NOISE. I THEN GOT A CALL BACK AND WAS TOLD THAT THE COMPRESSOR HAD GONE BAD. BUT IT GETS BETTER AS RIGHT AFTER THAT I WAS TOLD THAT NISSAN GOT A BAD BATCH OF COMPRESSORS AND THEY CAN'T GET A NEW ONE FOR ME. BUT IT STILL GETS BETTER...I WAS THEN TOLD THAT IF I DON'T REPLACE THE COMPRESSOR (AT A COST OF OVER 1K) THEN IT WILL FAIL AND DAMAGE THE BELTS, WHICH WILL CAUSE THE POWER STEERING TO FAIL AS WELL AS DAMAGING THE CONDENSER. I PURCHASED A NEW 2007 NISSAN QUEST AND HAD THE REMOTE START OPTION INSTALLED, WHICH WAS AN AUDIOVOX AS-9076 WHEN INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, I FOUND THAT WITH THE REMOTE START PACKAGE INSTALLED, IT WAS POSSIBLE TO USE THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTONS ON THE DOORS TO START THE VEHICLE WITHOUT THE KEY. MY CONCERN HERE IS THAT MY WIFE COMES HOME AND GETS OUT OF THE CAR TO GET MY SON OUT OF THE BACK AND MY ONE YEAR OLD SON COULD LOCK AND START THE CAR WITHOUT THE KEYS, IF MY WIFE LEFT HER PURSE ON THE FRONT SEAT WHILE SHE GOT HIM, THE ONLY THING SHE COULD DO WOULD BE TO CALL THE POLICE, AS I DOUBT SHE WOULD BE ABLE TO BREAK THE WINDOW. THE MOST DANGEROUS SCENARIO I CAN THINK OF WOULD BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HOTTEST DAY OF THE SUMMER OR SOMETHING WHICH COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY TO A CHILD, OR A HEART ATTACK TO HIS MOTHER. I HAVE HAD THE REMOTE START SYSTEM DISABLED AND WE HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER TO "CORRECT" THE PROBLEM, THEY TRIED ONCE AND SAID THEY COULD NOT CORRECT IT, SO I LEFT IT DISABLED UNTIL EITHER REMOVED OR CORRECTED, BUT IF SOMEONE ELSE HAD THE SAME OPTION INSTALLED AND DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE BUTTONS, I BELIEVE THAT IT COULD BE JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT HAPPENS TO AN INNOCENT CHILD, WHICH I WOULD HOPE CAN BE AVOIDED. I HAVE ALREADY CONTACTED NISSAN, THE DEALERSHIP, AND AUDIOVOX WITH MY CONCERNS AS WELL, BUT NO ONE SEEMS TO BELIEVE THIS DANGER EXISTS, OR MERITS ANY SERIOUS ATTENTION.
