.Transmission failed do to coolant in transmission. .got stuck in traffic and couldn’t go anywhere .this is a known problem with these vehicles .vehicle has been inspected by owner who is a mechanic .there were no warning signs

THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING A LITTLE LET FOR US WHEN I START FROM THE STOP SIGN OR FROM A DEAD STOP WHEN THE ENGINE IS COOL AND I 1ST STOP IT RUNS FINE FOR THE 1ST MINUTE OR 2 BUT THEN AS I'M DRIVING ALL OF SUDDEN IT START SLIPPING REAL BAD IF I'M IN REGULAR DRIVE WOULD YOU OVERDRIVE ON WHICH IN 5TH GEAR CANNOT GO ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER 55 MILES AN HOUR AND JUST THAT SLIPPING REAL BAD UNLESS I PUT IT IN 4TH GEAR BY TAKING THE OVERDRIVE OFF DANIEL RIDE OKAY FOR A WHILE BUT IT'S SOON AS I GO TO A STOP SIGN OR I STOPPED THE VEHICLE TAKING OFF IT'S SLIP SO BAD IT ALMOST IS NOT MOVE AT ALL ONCE YOU GET SOME MOVING AND RUNS NOT TOO BAD BUT THE LONGER I DRIVE IT TO WHERE SHE GETS UNTIL I SHUT IT OFF COOLED OFF AND THEN IT WORKS AGAIN FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES

THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT GEARS DUE TO COOLANT IN THE TRANSMISSION. THIS HAS ESSENTIALLY RUINED THE TRANSMISSION DUE TO THE RADIATOR FAILING AND ALLOWING COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION VIA THE TRANSMISSION FLUID COOLANT LINES THAT RUN THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF THE RADIATOR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE "OVERHEATED" WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE VEHICLE FAILED START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE RADIATOR FAILED AND CAUSED COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID TO MIX. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FAILED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE ALHAMBRA NISSAN DEALER IN ALHAMBRA, CA FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE, THE CONTACT WAS ALSO ADVISED TO HAVE A TRANSMISSION OIL CHANGE. THE TECHNICIAN PERFORMED AN OIL CHANGE ON THE TRANSMISSION AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED EIGHT DAYS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE ALHAMBRA NISSAN DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND THE RADIATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SERVICED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OLD IN AGE AND OUT OF WARRANTY. I PAID OFF MY PATHFINDER LAST YEAR. JUST ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO AFTER LEAVING A FRIENDS HOUSE THE TRUCK STARTED TURNING ON ALL THE DASH BOARD LIGHTS, I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. I DROVE IT VERY SLOWLY HOME NOT EVEN A MILE AWAY, I TURNED IT OFF AND NEXT DAY..MY SURPRISE IT DIDN'T TURN ON TO TAKE TO THE MECHANIC. I CALLED THE TOW TRUCK TO TAKE IT IN TO NISSAN DEALER AND THEY FOUND THAT THE RADIATOR FLUID MIXED WITH TRANSMISSION OIL AND MESSED UP THE MODULE TOO. THEY WHERE ORIGINALLY CHARGING ME 7200 DOLLARS TO FIX. I BROUGHT IT BACK HOME AND AFTER WHEN I WAS ABLE TO PAY WITH CREDIT I TOOK IT IN TO FIX. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS CONTAMINATION OF RADIATOR FLUID IN THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY IN PARK, THERE WAS ENGINE OIL LEAKING UNDERNEATH THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE REBUILT TRANSMISSION AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. The contact stated that the fuel gauge displayed a full tank, then suddenly displayed that the fuel was empty, improperly displaying the fuel level. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who determined that the fuel level sensor was high causing the fuel pump to fail. The contact was informed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.

ALL 4 OF MY CATALYTIC CONVERTERS HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED (OR NEED TO BE REPLACED - I'VE ALREADY REPLACED BANK 1. NOW BANK 2 IS BAD) IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS OR SO AND NOW MY RADIATOR IS LEAKING INTO MY TRANSMISSION. I DISCOVERED THERE WAS A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT ON THE RADIATOR/TRANSMISSION ISSUE, BUT I'M OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. WITH RESPECT TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS, I OCCASIONALLY SMELL EXHAUST, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS STAY ON. WITH THE TRANSMISSION, IT STARTED OUT AS GEAR SLIPPING, CAUSING ROUGH DRIVING (WHICH THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME WAS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER). THEN, IT STARTED RUNNING SLOW OUT OF FIRST GEAR AND HARD SHIFTING. I TOOK IT TO A TRANSMISSION PLACE THAT PULLED TRANSMISSION CODES AND WHEN THEY DROPPED THE PAN, THE FLUID LOOKED LIKE A MILKSHAKE. THE ROUGH DRIVING/GEARS SLIPPING DIDN'T MATTER - IT COULD BE ON THE HIGHWAY OR IN THE CITY. I DON'T KNOW THE EXACT DATE IN 2018 THAT I HAD THE ISSUE, BUT I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE FOR A YEAR.

I WAS DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEED WHEN THE CAR SHUDDERED AS IF GOING OVER ROUGH PAVEMENT. THE ENGINE STARTED RACING, BUT THE CAR GRADUALLY LOST FORWARD PROPULSION. I STEERED TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND STOPPED. AFTER A MINUTE, THE CAR REGAINED JUST ENOUGH FORWARD MOTION TO GET ME TO THE NEXT EXIT, ACROSS AN INTERSECTION (WHERE THE LIGHT JUST HAPPENED TO BE GREEN, THANK GOODNESS), AND INTO THE PARKING LOT OF A LARGE GROCERY STORE BEFORE THE VEHICLE LOST ALL PROPULSION. WE PUSHED THE CAR THE LAST FEW FEET INTO A PARKING SPOT. IT WAS TOWED TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THE NEXT DAY THAT THE TRANSMISSION WARMER HAD FAILED, ALLOWING RADIATOR COOLANT TO LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH RUINED THE TRANSMISSION. THE REPAIR WOULD COST $6000. I CANNOT PUT ANOTHER $6000 INTO A 13-YEAR-OLD VEHICLE, EVEN THOUGH I'VE ONLY HAD IT FOR FIVE MONTHS, SO NOW I'VE LOST THE MONEY I PUT INTO IT AND WILL HAVE TO START OVER WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE.

RADIATOR FAILED CAUSING LEAK OF RADIATOR FLUID INTO TRANSMISSION CAUSING VEHICLE TO BE TOWED TO AUTO SHOP. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY AND THEN WOULD ALL OF THE SUDDEN NO LONGER ACCELERATE. MECHANICS, (GOT 3 ESTIMATES) ALL SAID SAME THING; THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH THESE PATHFINDERS. MY COST IS ABOUT 6,500. I HAD JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE FOR 8,500 ABOUT 3 WEEKS PRIOR.

I've ran out of gas twice my indicator the gas tank gauge does not show that the vehicle is empty it shows it's full and then I run out of gas on the side of the road almost get hit by cars trying to get to gas station to get more gas in the middle of traffic very dangerous have my daughter with me trying to push my vehicle out of the way so I don't get hit apparently it's a recall that says mine was done but it's not done because it's still having problems I am the third owner of mine so I think it was mislabeled as completed if that's the case then how do I know any of these recalls have been done properly

WHEN GAS GAUGE NEARS 1/4 FULL THE NEEDLE EITHER STICKS OR DROPS TO EMPTY. THE GAUGE DOES NOT RETURN TO FULL FOR SEVERAL TRIPS OR DAYS. NISSAN HAS HAD RECALLS FOR THIS BUT INDICATES MY VIN # IS NOT ON THEIR LIST. THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING IS EXACTLY AS IT IS DESCRIBED ON THE RECALL. I HAVE COMPENSATED FOR THIS BY KEEPING TRACK OF MY MILEAGE SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2014.

MY TIMING CHAIN ON MY PATHFINDER HAS BEEN DEFECTIVE. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN NOISY BUT A FEW WEEKS AGO IT REALLY STARTED GETTING LOUD WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION AROUND . I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A SHOP AS TEETH WERE FALLING OFF THE 'CHAIN' INTO THE OIL. THEY SAY IT IS A KNOWN THING WITH 2005-2010 PATHFINDERS .

AT APPROXIMATELY 135000 MILES MY PATHFINDER BEGAN MAKING A A GRINDING SOUND WHEN I TURNED MY STEERING WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE ACTUAL STEERING WHEEL WAS LOOSE AND COULD BE MOVED BACK AND FORTH. WITHIN A FEW DAYS I BEGAN HAVING GREAT DIFFICULTY WHEN MAKING TURNS WHILE DRIVING. I HAD MY HUSBAND CHECK THE STEERING FLUID, WHICH WAS AT THE RECOMMENDED LEVEL. I THEN TOOK MY PATHFINDER TO THE MECHANIC TO BE INSPECTED AND FIND THE ROOT OF THE STEERING PROBLEM. I WAS INFORMED THAT MY STEERING COLUMN WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE NISSAN FRONTIER AND XTERRA HAS RECALLS FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE FOR THE SAME YEAR, BUT NOT THE PATHFINDER. I HAVE 3 CHILDREN WHO TRAVEL REGULARLY WITH ME IN MY VEHICLE. I WAS INFORMED BY THE MECHANIC, THAT EVENTUALLY I WOULD LOSE ALL STEERING CAPABILITY IF THE STEERING COLUMN IN NOT REPLACED I FIND THIS TO BE GROSS NEGLIGENCE ON BEHALF OF NISSAN. MANY COMPLAINTS FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE HAVE BEEN MADE, AND YET NO RECALL?! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, WHICH COULD PUT NOT ONLY MINE, BUT MY CHILDREN'S LIVES AT RISK. THE REPLACEMENT COST IS AROUND $1500. I HOPE NISSAN DOES THE RIGHT THING AND ISSUES A RECALL SOON.

THE VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT NEW IN 2006. THE STEERING ISSUE WAS FIRST REPORTED ON 9/14/06 TO A NISSAN TECHNICIAN. I NOTICED WHEN STOPPING THE VEHICLE A SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THE TECHNICIAN WAS NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. ON 6/03/09, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER NISSAN DEALERSHIP TECHNICIAN FOR ADDITIONAL WORK AND AGAIN THE TECHNICIAN WAS ASKED TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED ON 8/2/13, AT A DIFFERENT NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND AGAIN THE TECHNICIAN WAS NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE THE SQUEAKING NOISE OR WHY THE STEERING COLUMN WAS LOOSE. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT ALL THREE SERVICES MENTIONED ABOVE WERE COMPLETED AT NISSAN DEALERSHIPS AND THE SERVICES WERE WITHIN THE WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE. IN LATE SUMMER 2014, I NOTICED THE STEERING COLUMN BEING VERY LOOSE. ON 09/11/14, I ALERTED A NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT AGAIN OF THE PROBLEM. AT THIS TIME, THE VEHICLE WAS 3,000 MILES OUTSIDE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE STEERING COLUMN ISSUE CONTINUED AND ON 11/7/14, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR MORE STEERING COLUMN TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN CONCLUDED THAT THE VEHICLE?S POWER STEERING RACK IS BREAKING APART. I SOUGHT A SECOND OPINION AND THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN CONCLUDED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY IS FAILING. AFTER EIGHT YEARS OF INQUIRY THE ISSUE IS NOW DIAGNOSED. STEERING COLUMN - IT IS TOO LOOSE AND WHEN TURNING TO THE FAR RIGHT OR LEFT IT MAKES A CLACKING NOISE. IF NHTSA, DETERMINES THAT MY VEHICLE?S ISSUES FALL UNDER THE STEERING COLUMN & PASSENGER AIR BAG FASTENER CAMPAIGN #10V-115, THEN I WOULD LIKE FOR A LOCAL DEALER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE AT NO CHARGE TO ME. LATELY, MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS BEEN STALLING OR SHUTTING DOWN WHILE I AM DRIVING MY VEHICLE. I OWN A 06 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THERE IS A FUEL SENSOR RECALL ON THE 06 PATHFINDERS. THIS SENSOR ESTIMATES HOW MUCH GAS YOU HAVE LEFT IN THE TANK. APPROXIMATELY AT 1/2 TANK, THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE SHOW THE FUEL ON EMPTY. FOR SOME REASON MY PATHFINDER IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I WAS TOLD BY NISSAN THAT NOT ALL 06 PATHFINDERS WERE PART OF THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I WANT TO FILE A COMPLAINT BASED ON MY RECENT EXPERIENCES WITH NISSAN. I OWN A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN DECEMBER OF 2005. A FEW YEARS AGO, NISSAN ISSUED A VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR THE FUEL SENDING UNIT ON A NUMBER OF THEIR VEHICLES INCLUDING THE 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. HOWEVER, THE CAMPAIGN ONLY RECALLED FUEL SENDING UNITS ON 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDERS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN JAN AND MARCH OF 2006. NISSAN THEN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR OTHER 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDERS THAT INCLUDING MY VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THE WARRANTY EXTENSION ONLY LASTED ABOUT A YEAR AFTER IT CAME OUT. DURING THAT EXTENDED WARRANTY TIME, MY NISSAN PATHFINDER'S FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS ACTING UP (THIS IS THE DEVICE THAT TELLS YOUR FUEL GAUGE AND TRIP COMPUTER HOW CLOSE YOU ARE TO EMPTY). HOWEVER THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP COULD NOT REPLICATE THE FAULT SO I WAS OUT OF LUCK AS THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD WORK OFF AND ON. OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS, THE FUEL GAUGE HAS CONTINUED TO ACT UP AND READ THE WRONG AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE. LAST WEEK, THE ISSUE PERSISTED LONG ENOUGH FOR ME TO GET IT TO A DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE ISSUE WAS WITH THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. I was hit on the drivers side, where the front drivers door stops and the back door begins. The other drivers was estimated at going 50-60 mph. My car spun and rolled over 360 degrees. None of the airbags deployed. The sheriff, ambulance, firefighters all told me to report it. The car was totaled at the scene so unfortunately no inspections were able to be made. There were not warning lights previous to the accident.

IN 2012, SOON AFTER WE PURCHASED OUR USED 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER, WE KNEW IT WAS A MISTAKE. NOT ONLY DID THE FUEL INDICATOR NOT WORK (NOTICED THE DAY WE DROVE IT OFF THE LOT) THE SUV JUST DIDN'T FEEL RIGHT WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED IN 100 DEGREE WEATHER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS BECAUSE THE FUEL INDICATOR SAYS I HAVE FUEL, BUT THE LIGHT WOULD IMMEDIATELY COME ON, AND THE CAR WOULD CUT OFF & LOCK UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT! FAST FORWARD TO LAST YEAR, 2015, WE STARTED EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WHEN SHIFTING INTO AND OUT OF PARK/DRIVE/REVERSE. THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND SOMETIMES WOULDN'T EVEN CHANGE GEARS, JUST KEEP REVVING UP THE ENGINE AND NOT GOING ANYWHERE. IT HAS LEFT MY CHILDREN AND ME STRANDED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS SINCE THEN. FINALLY, ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, THE PATHFINDER DECIDED TO NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK AT ALL AFTER CRANKED. TODAY, 9/14/16, THE TRANSMISSION LEFT ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF HEAVY 5 O'CLOCK TRAFFIC. I BARELY HAD IT PULLED OFF THE ROAD WHEN I ALMOST GOT REAR-ENDED! THE TRANSMISSION WON'T CHANGE GEARS, WON'T PROPEL THE CAR FORWARD (OR BACKWARDS) AND THE SHOP SAID IT NEEDED A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION, AND MAYBE A NEW RADIATOR! I AM A STUDENT AND MY HUSBAND IS IN LAW ENFORCEMENT - WE CERTAINLY DON'T HAVE AN EXTRA $4,000 LYING AROUND FOR REPAIRS TO A VEHICLE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED! THE TRANSMISSION OF MY PATHFINDER WENT BAD BECAUSE OF DEFECTIVE RADIATOR. IT MIXED TRANSMISSION OIL AND ANTIFREEZE IN THE TRANSMISSION. IT WILL COST ME 6K+ TO REPAIR. I READ A LOT OF PEOPLE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND I WANT NISSAN TO FIX IT.

I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 75 IN ATLANTA, GA AT THE BEGINNING OF RUSH-HOUR WHEN MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY STARTED JERKING. THIS IS A 6 LANE HIGHWAY AND I WAS RIDING IN THE CENTER LANE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO WORK MY WAY TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER, I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE BECAUSE MY TRANSMISSION WAS UNRESPONSIVE. I HAD TO HIT THE ACCELERATOR REALLY HARD TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF 18 WHEELERS AND OTHER FAST MOVING VEHICLES. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE WAY OF ON-COMING TRAFFIC WITHOUT INCIDENT. I HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO TOWN CENTER NISSAN, WHICH IS WHERE I TAKE IT FOR REGULAR SERVICING AND WAS INFORMED ON FRIDAY 1/24/14 THAT THE TRANSMISSION 'WAS SHOT.' NOT WILLING TO TAKE THEIR WORD FOR IT, MY HUSBAND AND I VISITED AN AAMCO TRANSMISSION LOCATION AND WAS TOLD BY THE TECHNICIAN THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AGAINST NISSAN DUE TO RADIATOR FLUID LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION. HE STATED THAT HE HAD SERVICED 8 - 9 PATHFINDERS WITH THE PROBLEM. MY HUSBAND CONTACTED NISSAN CORP AND THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT OUR DISCOVERY. NISSAN INITIALLY DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY, BUT STATED THAT THEY WOULD INVESTIGATE. WE WERE CONTACTED BY NISSAN CORP YESTERDAY INFORMING US THAT OUR PROBLEM WAS NOT DUE TO CROSS-CONTAMINATION, BUT DUE TO AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID, IN OTHER WORDS, IT IS OUR FAULT. WHAT IS MOST INTERESTING IS THAT THIS IS OUR REGULAR SERVICE SITE, SO ANY ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO US BY THEM. THAT IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN PAYING THEM FOR. THEY HAVE QUOTED US $4500.00 TO REPLACE THE DAMAGED TRANSMISSION. THEY ALSO MADE A POINT OF STRESSING THE FACT THAT THEY WOULD NOT HAVE ADDRESSED IT ANYWAY DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE HAVE OVER 100,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE WOULD BEGIN TO SHAKE AND LOSE POWER AT EXACTLY 43 MILES PER HOUR. TO ADJUST, YOU WOULD HAVE TO RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL, SLOW DOWN AND THEN PRESS THE GAS PEDAL AGAIN TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. CLEARLY THIS CAUSES HIGHWAY ISSUES WHEN ENTERING OR EXITING ON RAMPS OR STREETS THAT HAVE A POSTING OF 40 TO 45MPH. NOT HAVING THE POWER TO ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE, PUTS NOT ONLY MY FAMILY AT RISK, BUT THOSE AROUND US AS WELL! 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. CONSUMER REQUESTS THAT WARRANTIES BE APPLICABLE TO HIS VEHICLE *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS OPERATING SPORADICALLY. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THE VEHICLE WAS OVER THE WARRANTY MILES. THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A WARRANTY NOTIFICATION IN THE MAIL WHICH STATED HIS VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN 80,000 MILES OR LESS WARRANTY. ON MARCH 24, 2008 THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BECAUSE THERE WAS AN ODOR OF ANTI-FREEZE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THEY DETERMINED THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE RADIATOR AND IT WAS FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. IN APRIL 2008, THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TWICE, BECAUSE HE CONTINUED TO SMELL ANTI-FREEZE. THEY CHECKED THE VEHICLE BOTH TIMES, BUT DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE RADIATOR AND COULD NOT FIND ANY LEAKS.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. A FEW MONTHS LATER, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESTART SO IT WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED. YOU SEE BACK IN APRIL 14, 2010 I WAS INFORMED BY NALLEY NISSAN OF DECATUR GA. THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACED ON MY 2006 PATHFINDER, AND THAT THEY COULD DO THE JOB FOR $1,200 -$1,500 AT THE TIME MY VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 80,000 MILES OR LESS YET WHEN I HAD WORK DONE AT NALLEY NISSAN ON APRIL 14, 2010 THE MILEAGE WAS DOCUMENTED AS BY NALLEY NISSAN AS BEING 125,000 IN AN ATTEMPT AS NOT TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE UNDER THE MANUFACTURES WARRANTY FREE OF COST. IT IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE HAD 125,000 MILES ON 4/15/10, AND 81,254 MILES ON 5/24/10 NOT TO MENTION THAT AS OF SEPT 24, 2010 MY READING IS 86,000 MILES. THEN 2 DAYS AGO, DROVE THE CAR BACK TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AT 112K MILES WHERE THEY TOLD ME MY RADIATOR CRACKED WHICH LEAD TO FLUID GOING INTO THE TRANSMISSION - A WIDELY KNOWN NISSAN PROBLEM. 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER 103K MILES. WE NOTICED VEHICLE WOULD SHUDDER UPON ACCELERATION AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH AND AGAIN AT 50 MPH. ALSO AT TIMES THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP LIKE IT COULDN'T SHIFT TO THE NEXT GEAR. IF WE SLOWED DOWN TO 50 AND RE-ACCELERATED TO 55 MPH, THE SHUDDERING BECAME A SEVERE VIBRATION. WE TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SINCE WE HAD RECENTLY A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH OUR LOCAL NISSAN DEALER IN FIXING ANOTHER PROBLEM (TIMING CHAIN). THE MECHANIC DROPPED THE TRANSMISSION PAN AND FOUND THE RADIATOR WAS LEAKING COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. MECHANIC STATED WE WERE VERY LUCKY TO HAVE CAUGHT THIS RIGHT AWAY AS IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A LOT OF OTHER PROBLEMS TOO LENGTHY TO MENTION HERE. MECHANIC REPLACED RADIATOR AND DID A TRANNY FLUSH BUT I'M NOT SURE OUR PROBLEMS ARE OVER. I OWN A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER, FIRST MY FUEL SENSOR FAILED, AND NOW AT APPROX 92,000 MILES MY VEHICLE HAS THIS HORRIBLE VIBRATION AT 45MPH AND 60 MPH. AFTER THINKING IT WAS MY TIRES OFF BALANCE AND HAVING THEM SERVICED AND AN ALIGNMENT DONE, I DECIDED TO DO SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND CALLED MY NISSAN SERVICE DEPT. NOW THERE IS A TERRIBLE LEAK AND A NOISE THAT IS SO BAD. I TOOK IT INTO A LOCAL SHOP AND IT IS THE TIMING CHAIN. I WENT TO PICK UP MY OLDEST DAUGHTER FROM TRACK PRACTICE AND PLACED MY 4 YEAR OLD IN HER CAR SEAT TO START DRIVING. ALLOWING THE CAR TO WARM UP, I PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND PROCEEDED UP THE HILL IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN I NOTICED THAT MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ABOVE 20 MPH. TRAFFIC WAS HEAVY AT THE TIME. THINKING THAT I DID NOT WARM THE CAR UP ENOUGH I PROCEEDED ON MY WAY UP HILLS AT A SNAILS PACE TO RETRIEVE MY OLDEST DAUGHTER FROM HIGH SCHOOL. ONCE I MADE IT TO THE HIGH SCHOOL I FIGURED THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING SIGNIFICANTLY WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND JUST WANTED TO GET THE VEHICLE HOME. I HAD TO CONTEND WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC TRYING TO CROSS A LARGE AND BUSY ROAD WITH A VEHICLE THAT ONLY ACCELERATED TO 20 MILES AN HOUR AND AT SOME TIME ACTUALLY STOPPED WITHOUT WARNING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. SOON AFTER PURCHASE WHEN I WAS TRAVELING BETWEEN 45 AND 55 MILES PER HOUR IT WOULD FEEL AS IF THE WHEELS HAD LOCKED UP BUT THE CAR WAS STILL MOVING. NOW IT ACTUALLY LOSES SPEED UNTIL IT FALLS DOWN TO ABOUT 30 AND THEN IT WILL KICK BACK INTO GEAR AND I CAN SPEED UP AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. TOOK IT THE DEALER WHEN I FIRST STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS A YEAR AGO AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, THE TRANSMISSION STARTED VIBRATING AND THEN WOULD NOT MOVE, I TOOK TO LOCAL TRANSMISSION SHOP, THEY ADVISED THERE WAS A PROBLEM IN THE RADIATOR CAUSING DAMAGE TO TRANSMISSION, I TOOK TO NISSAN DEALER THEY ADVISED THAT NISSAN HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 80,000 MILES DUE TO THE RADIATOR, HOWEVER NISSAN HAD NOT SENT ANY INFORMATION REGARDING A PROBLEM ARE EXTENDING THE WARRANTY. IF I HAD KNOWN THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH RADIATOR, I WOULD HAVE HAD IT CHECKED PRIOR TO THE 80,000 MILES. THEN NISSAN SENDS LETTER THAT THEY ARE EXTENDING WARRANTY TO 100,000 MILES WITH A 3,000 DOLLAR DEDUCTIBLE. IF I HAD RECEIVED A LETTER EARLIER FROM NISSAN ABOUT THE PROBLEM, I WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE NISSAN TO A DEALER PRIOR TO THE 80,000 MILES. AT TIMES THE TRANSMISSION WOULD STALL OUT WHEN MAKING A TURN, WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT; FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO ON COMING TRAFFIC. THE CAR ALSO HAS A FUEL GAUGE WHICH GIVES A FALSE READING AT ALL TIMES TO THE ACTUAL AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE TANK DUE TO A FAULTY SENDING UNIT. SO NOW I AM STUCK WITH A BILL FOR 3,000 DOLLARS. ONE YEAR LATER AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION MODULE SYSTEM HAD FAILED. THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A LEAK OF COOLING FLUID INTO THE RADIATOR SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 107,000.

UNKNOWN. Every time I drive above 50 mph the car vibrates hard and it’s audible. It feels like the engine. I had it checked out by two mechanics but they couldn’t figure it out. I had my wheels balanced, bought new tires at the mechanic suggestion. That hasn’t helped. I’m not sure if this is safe to drive and it doesn’t make me feel safe. This has been going on for months. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY OR THE CITY STREET, THE CAR STARTED TO JERK AND THEN SUDDENLY CUT OFF AND LOSE POWER. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST FIVE TIMES AT NORMAL HIGHWAY AND FREEWAY SPEEDS IN A STRAIGHT FORWARD MOTION. WHILE ON THE FREEWAY, I WAS ABLE TO GLIDE OVER TO STOP THE CAR AND RESTART IT. THE CAR STARTS RIGHT BACK UP AND IS DRIVABLE.THE LAST TIME WAS ON THE CITY STREET, I WAS GOING ABOUT 35-40MPH AND THE CAR AGAIN JERKS AND THE ENGINE CUTS OFF AND LOOSES POWER. HOWEVER, THIS TIME THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP PREVENTING ME TO GET OVER. I HAD TO STOP THE CAR BY BREAKING DIRECTLY IN THE LANE NEARLY CAUSING CARS TO SLAM INTO ME. THE REPAIRS FOR THIS INCIDENT ARE HIGH THE NISSAN DEALER I TOOK IT TO QUOTED ME $4,591.43 TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND THE RADIATOR AND THAT IS WITH THE WARRANTY THEY CLAIM THEY HAVE ON IT. THE DEALER ALSO TOLD ME ANY OTHER DAMAGE CAUSED BY THIS FAULTY RADIATOR WOULD NOT BE COVERED AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS TO ANY OTHER COMPONENTS AS WELL THEY TOLD THEY ME MIGHT BE AN ADDITIONAL $2,000 SO NEARLY $7,000. WHEN I PURCHASED MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER FROM A DEALER IN 2012. VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND DEEMED SAFE TO DRIVE. I NOTICED MY TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR STAYED ON ALL THE TIME. SHE THEN HAD IT LOOKED AT BY HER TRANSMISSION EXPERT AND HE DISCOVERED COOLANT AND FLUID INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION. ONLY THEN WAS IT LINKED TO ALL OTHER OCCURRENCES THAT FALL BACK ON NISSAN. I READ ONLINE THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR FAILING RADIATORS AND TRANSMISSIONS. IT WAS NEVER BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION WHEN PURCHASING THE VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH THIS WAS DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE DISPUTE. WITH IT BEING OUT OF DATE FOR ANY COVERAGES UNDER THE LAWSUIT. I HAD MULTIPLE POSTING PREVIOUSLY ON MY 2006 BRAND NEW NISSAN PATHFINDER. FIRST PROBLEM WAS WITH THE ECM WHICH WAS LATER FIXED FOR ABOUT $2000, LATER NISSAN REIMBURSED. AS LITHIA SPRING GA. NISSAN DEALERSHIP HAD MY SUV TO FIX THE ECM, ON DAY OF PICK UP, 2 FRONT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WERE DEFECTIVE EVIDENCE BY A LOUD HOLLOW NOISE WHICH THE DEALERSHIP DENIED. FEW MONTHS LATER I WAS NOTIFIED BY NISSAN MANUFACTURERS TO TAKE MY SUV FOR A RECALLED MAINTENANCE ON RADIATOR ASSEMBLE ISSUES. I TOOK MY SUV TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP WITH MY NOTICED, THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO COMPLETE THE RECALLED MAINTENANCE AND CLAIMED THAT MY SUV HAD A HIGHER MILEAGE THAN WHAT THE MANUFACTURERS ARE RECALLING. TWO WEEKS LATER MY SUV WENT INTO A CLOUD OF SMOKE WITH A ROOTING EGGS ODOR AND AS I TOWED THE CAR TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP, I WAS CHARGE $98 TO COMPLETE DIAGNOSTIC AND I WAS INFORMED THE VALVES BODY, THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR AND MY TRANSMISSION NEED A REPLACEMENT FOR THE TOTAL OF OFFER $5000. I MANAGED TO COMPLETE PAYMENT ON THE CAR, I HAD JUST CANCELLED THE REGISTRATION ON MY SUV. I STILL NEED HELP TO GET MY SUV RUNNING AGAIN. AT THE TIME OF PURCHASED I DROVE OF WITH ONLY 20 MILES IN MY SUV. IT IS UN-ACCEPTABLE THAT NISSAN AND NISSAN DEALERSHIP AROUND THE NATION WOULD NOT STAND OUT TO TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITIES TO THEIR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS; RATHER, TO TRY TO CLEAN OUT THE POCKETS OF NISSAN OWNERS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY LOOSE AND BEGAN TO SHAKE WITH AN EXCESSIVE VIBRATION. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY TWO DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE STEERING COLUMN WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR A THIRD OPINION AND THEY ADVISED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL SPIRAL CABLE KIT WOULD NEED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. I PURCHASED MY "CERTIFIED PRE-OWN" 2006 PATHFINDER WITH ONLY 37,000 MILES ON IT AND I PROPERLY MAINTAINED IT. DECEMBER 2010 I NOTICED THAT MY TRUCK WOULD LOSE POWER AND SPUTTER WHILE DRIVING AT A SPEED BETWEEN 40 TO 60 MPH, AND THAT IT WOULD ALSO "TREMBLE OR SHAKE" WHILE SHIFTING GEARS. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT SERVICED AND TUNED UP. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE RADIATOR WAS LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE BOTH REPLACED. I COULDN'T SEE STRAIGHT! I ASKED THE SERVICE TECH WHY IN THE HELL I WOULD NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION ON A VEHICLE WITH JUST OVER 100,000 MILES AND THAT I'M STILL PAYING FOR NO LESS. THE TECH SUGGESTED THAT THE TRANSMISSION COULD BE "SAVED" AND I WOULD STILL HAVE TO BUY A NEW RADIATOR AND OTHER PARTS. HE INFORMED ME THAT HE'S HAD A NUMBER OF PATHFINDER OWNERS COMING TO HIS SHOP ABOUT THIS VERY PROBLEM, AND INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN. I FOUND THE LAWSUIT ON THE WEB AGAINST NISSAN AND SINCE CONTACTED THE ATTORNEY AND JOINED IN THE LAW SUIT. UP UNTIL THE MOMENT I HAD THIS PROBLEM I WAS A LOYAL NISSAN OWNER, EVEN BACK TO THE DAYS WHEN MY FATHER OWNED A DATSUN AND IT BECAME MY FIRST CAR. CAR BEGAN TO MAKE A KNOCKING AND "WHOOM, WHOOM" SOUND THAT GOT LOUDER AND LOUDER. WHEN I MERGED ONTO THE HIGHWAY (ON MY WAY TO AN UNRELATED NISSAN SERVICE APPT.) ALL OF A SUDDEN IT FELT AS THOUGH I HAD A FLAT TIRE. THEN I LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR. I LOST THE USE OF MY BRAKES AND COULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. I MANAGED TO PULL THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY (ON THE LEFT IN THE GRASSY MEDIAN) AND MY LEFT FRONT WHEEL FLEW OFF MY CAR. I STILL COULD NOT STOP THE CAR AS MY BRAKES HAD BECOME DISENGAGED WHEN THE WHEEL CAME LOOSE. MERCIFULLY MY RIM DIGGING INTO THE DIRT IN THE MEDIAN FINALLY CAUSED THE CAR TO COME TO A STOP. AUTO FAILED TO START OR IF STARTED FAILED TO RUN WITH COMPUTER COORDINATED POWER PRODUCTION. ENGINE MISFIRING AND POWERLESS AND IMMOBILE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. GARAGE SAID THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL OF THESE FAILURES ON NISSAN AUTOS AND EXPECT A RECALL TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE PART FAILING WITH INCREASING REGULARITY. IPDM FAILURE DIAGNOSTIC IS COMPLETE ENGINE POWER FAILURE AND STOP AFTER EXTREMELY ROUGH IDLING, EVEN WHEN ACCELERATOR ENGAGED. THE PROBLEM IS WITHOUT WARNING, INSTANT AND ERRATIC ONSET WITH NO PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE PROTOCOL. THIS IS A PART FAILURE WHICH WILL STRAND THE DRIVER WHEREVER IT HAPPENS UNTIL THE PART (IPDM) IS REPLACED , AFTER WHICH THE VARIOUS COMPUTERS ON THE CAR WILL PERFORM AS NORMAL AND AUTO FUNCTIONS NORMALLY. THIS PART SHOULD BE IMPROVED, RECALLED AND REINSTALLED WITH DEFECT FREE REPLACEMENT TO AVOID FURTHER DAMAGE AND STRANDING OF OTHER NISSAN DRIVERS. NISSAN HAS NOT RECALLED THE PART AS YET BUT THE REPAIR COST ME $910 FOR DIAGNOSES AND REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE AND FAILED IPDM ON THE 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER AND PERHAPS OTHER NISSAN VEHICLES. THE RECORDS OF NISSAN SHOULD SHOW THE SPIKE IN ORDERS FOR THIS PART AS OTHER VEHICLES FAIL TO FUNCTION DUE TO FAILURE OF THE IPDM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED SHE WAS DRIVING AT 50 MPH WHEN THE HEATER AND DEFROSTER FAILED. THE WINDOWS HAD TO REMAIN OPEN IN ORDER TO KEEP THE WINDOWS FROM FOGGING. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD EXHIBIT AN UNUSUAL INCREASE IN ENGINE RPMS INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THAT RADIATOR FLUID LEAKED INTO THE INNER COOLING SYSTEM AND INTO THE TRANSMISSION, CAUSING THE HEATER FAILURE. THE MECHANIC PERFORMED A TRANSMISSION FLUSH AND REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION FILTER AND RADIATOR. WITHIN FIVE MONTHS, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. ADDITIONALLY, THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE WOULD SPORADICALLY READ INACCURATE FUEL LEVELS, CAUSING HER TO RUN OUT OF FUEL TWICE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: AUXILLARY TANK) BUT WAS UNABLE TO CONFIRM IF HER VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED WITH THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 118,000.

IN NOVEMBER 2008 I PURCHASED MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER SE FROM A PRIVATE OWNER. THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 42,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. AFTER HAVING IT INSPECTED, I WAS TOLD IT WAS IN GREAT SHAPE AND FOR 1 YEAR I DROVE IT WITH NO SIGNIFICANT PROBLEMS. IN NOVEMBER 2009, THE GAS GAGUE BEGAN REGISTERING EMPTY WHEN IT WAS ON A QUARTER TANK. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL SENSOR ($400) WHICH RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SAME MAKE/MODEL AND FOR THAT EXACT PROBLEM JUST 3 MONTHES AFTER I HAD MINE REPAIRED, BUT BECAUSE MY VIN# WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST, I WAS TOLD MY MONEY WOULD NOT BE REFUNDED . NOT LONG AFTER THIS INCIDENT WITH 58,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE, I STARTED HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT EVEN THOUGH MY TRANSMISSION IS COVERED UP TO 60,000 MILES, BECAUSE THE PROBLEM ORIGINATED FROM A FAULTY SEAL ON MY RADIATOR (ONLY COVERED UNTIL 36,000 MILES) THAT LEAKED ANTIFREEZE INTO MY TRANSMISSION, MY TRANSMISSION REPAIRS WERE MY RESPONSIBILITY. I CALL NISSAN CORP. TO REPORT THE PROBLEM AND THE REPRESENTATIVE INFORMED ME THAT NISSAN HAS RECEIVED MULTIPLE COMPLAINT CALLS FORM OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SAME VEHICLE. THE MOTOR WAS STILL RUNNING, BUT THE ACCELERATOR WOULD NOT WORK. I HAD TO COAST OFF OF THE ROAD. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. ABOUT A MONTH AGO MY WIFE WENT TO FILL UP OUR 2006 PATHFINDER AND WHEN SHE FINISHED THE GAS GAUGE SHOWED ONLY HALF FILL. SHE WENT TO ANOTHER GAS STATION TRIED TO FILL IT UP BUT IT ONLY TOOK ANOTHER DOLLAR. THE NEXT DAY I CALLED UP NISSAN WHO SAID IT WAS THE SENDING UNIT IN THE GAS TANK AND WOULD BE APX $600 TO FIX. I SAW OTHER LOGS OF XTERRAS HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND THERE WAS A RECALL. OUR CAR WAS JUST PAST THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY. IF THIS WERE THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR I'D PAY TO GET IT FIXED. I PURCHASED AN AFTER-MARKET ENGINE COLD AIR INTAKE FOR MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. APPROXIMATELY A MONTH AFTER I INSTALLED THE INTAKE A PIECE OF METAL FROM THE INTAKE BROKE OF AND GOT LODGED IN THE THROTTLE OF MY VEHICLE DURING A TRIP TO LOS ANGELES, CA. THE METAL PIECE CAUSED MY CAR'S ENGINE TO STALL THE DIE COMPLETELY ON THE FREEWAY WITHIN A MATTER OF SECONDS. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY GET MY VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A MECHANIC IN BARSTOW, CA WHO REMOVED THE METAL DEBRIS FROM THE THROTTLE. THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THE METAL HAD BROKEN LOOSE FROM INSIDE THE INTAKE. WHEN I REMOVED THE INTAKE AND EXAMINED THE INSIDE I FOUND MORE PIECES OF METAL READY TO BREAK FREE. THE METAL FRAGMENTS WERE LEFT HANGING AND CLEANED UP AFTER THE METAL WAS CUT AND THE O2 SENSOR FITTING WAS WELDED ON. *TR

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER ON 12/24/08. ROAD CONDITION WAS WET WITH SOME SLUSH. THE TRACTION LIGHT (SLIP) AND LOW TIRE INDICATORS WERE ON AS THIS WAS AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH FLAGPOLE NISSAN IN ONEONTA NY AND THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS. ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE WAS A SLIGHT SUDDEN ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE WITH A COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKES. THE VEHICLE FISHTAILED THEN EVENTUALLY ROLLED OVER TWO TIMES. SHE WAS DRIVING AT APPROX 45 MPH. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER 2 LANES OF TRAFFIC, BEING STOPPED BY SEVERAL TREES, SO IN ADDITION TO ROLLOVER DAMAGE, SEVERE FRONT END DAMAGE RESULTED, THE IMPACT INTO THE TREES SEVERE ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE FRONT END TO BEND, SO ONE FRONT WHEEL POINTS LEFT WHILE THE OTHER POINTS RIGHT. SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED FULLY, DASHBOARD AIRBAGS DID NOT. THE AIRBAGS WERE REPAIRED BY THE DEALER A FEW MONTHS AGO WHEN THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, BUT THERE REPAIR ONLY CORRECTED THE WARNING LIGHT BUT ITS OPERATION WAS STILL FLAWED. THIS CAN BE PROVED AS AFTER THE ACCIDENT, MY MECHANIC ACCESSED THE CODES STORED AND FOUND NUMEROUS FAULTS, SOME BEING AIR BAG CONTROL UNIT FAILURE AND CRASH ZONE COMM. AND UNIT FAILURE, AMONG OTHER RELATED TROUBLE CODES. ALSO AT THE REPAIR SHOP, THE ENGINE STARTED LIKE A TOP, NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ON AND THE BRAKES HAD FULL POWER (THERE WAS NO BRAKE FLUID LEAK). MY WIFE HAD INJURIES TO HER HEAD, (FROM HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL), NECK, BACK AND LEG INJURIES AND WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. *TR

LOOKED UP PROBLEM ONLINE. HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH SAME PROBLEM IN PATHFINDERS AND X-TERRAS. NO WARRANTY COVERAGE. I HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY. MY 2006 PATHFINDER HAS 71K ON IT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. UPON PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SHE STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATOR NEEDLE REMAINS ON THE EMPTY SYMBOL, EVEN WHEN FUEL IS IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER TWO WEEKS LATER TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THE DEALER INFORMED HER THAT THE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS A SHORT IN THE CLUSTER AND THE PART HAD TO BE ORDERED FROM PUERTO RICO. THE PART ARRIVED A WEEK AND A HALF LATER AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE CLUSTER. ONE WEEK LATER, THE ODOMETER BEGAN TO DISPLAY THE INCORRECT MILEAGE. THE ODOMETER WAS LATER REPAIRED. TWO WEEKS LATER, THE VEHICLE BEGAN MAKING A LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE AS SOON AS IT WAS STARTED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS THE TENSION BELT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BELT, BUT LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE PART WAS DEFECTIVE. THE BELT WAS REPLACED AGAIN, BUT THE DEALER WAS UNSURE IF THE REPLACEMENT PART WOULD BE DEFECTIVE AS WELL. THE VIN, ENGINE SIZE, NUMBER OF CYLINDERS, SPEED, AND POWERTRAIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,566 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 693.

FOR ALL THOSE REPORTING THE SWAYING ASSOCIATED WITH THE 1996 NISSAN PATHFINDER, I HAVE A NISSAN TERRANO WHICH LOOKS VERY MUCH LIKE THE PATHFINDER. I EXPERIENCED SIMILAR SWAYING FROM THE REAR OF MY VEHICLE AT SPEEDS OF ABOUT 40 MPH. I HAVE TRIED EVERY MECHANIC I KNOW, CHANGED MY SHOCKS, AND YOU NAME IT...LATELY, I WOULD HEAR A THUMP IN THE REAR WHEN I PULLED OFF FROM STOP POSITION. THE THUMP ALSO HAPPENS WHEN I RUN OVER A SHORT SPEED BUMP. WHEN I CAME HOME ONE EVENING, I WENT UNDER THE VEHICLE TO CONDUCT A VISUAL INSPECTION TO SEE IF I WILL FIND ANYTHING. LO AND BEHOLD, I FOUND OUT THAT THE BUSHINGS OF THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS ARE WORN OUT TO THE EXTENT THAT THEY ARE BREAKING UP(THE BUSHINGS) WHICH ALLOWS METAL TO RUB OR HIT ANOTHER METAL AND THAT EXPLAINS THE THUMP THAT I WILL USUALLY HEAR. IN MY OPINION THE WORN OUT BUSHINGS ALSO EXPLAIN THE SWAYING THAT SEEMS TO COME FROM THE REAR BECAUSE JUST FIGURE IT OUT, THE BUSHINGS OF THE ARMS THAT LINK THE REAR AXLE TO THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE ARE WEAK, BUT THIS WILL NOT CAUSE SWAYING AT LOW SPEEDS, AND EVEN IF IT DID IT WILL BE UN-NOTICEABLE. THIS SWAYING AT HIGH SPEEDS IS DIFFICULT TO TELL SOMETIMES IF IT IS COMING FROM THE REAR OR FRONT. MY ADVISE IS TO CHANGE ESPECIALLY THE BUSHINGS OF THE REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS, THERE SHOULD BE FOUR OF THEM, TWO LONG ONES AND TWO SHORT ONES. IT MAKES SENSE TO ME AFTER ALL THE VEHICLE IS 10 YEARS OLD! ALSO MAKE SURE THAT NONE OF THOSE CONTROL ARMS ARE BENT. FEEL FREE TO SEND ME A QUICK EMAIL. *TR

THE DRIVER'S POWER SEAT BACK WILL NOT HOLD A CONSTANT POSITION. THE SEAT GRADUALLY MOVES FORWARD ON ITS OWN AND IS NEVER IN THE SAME POSITION WHEN YOU GET BACK IN THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A VERY ANNOYING PROBLEM BECAUSE THE SEAT NEEDS READJUSTED EVERY TIME YOU SIT DOWN TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER ORDERED A NEW SWITCH 4 WEEKS AGO AND CLAIMS THAT IT IS OWN BACK ORDER.
