My Pathfinder has 19798 miles and I was informed that the brake pads are 3mm or less need replaced and the rotor resurfaced. The front brakes are at 7mm at the same mileage. I do not tow anything and use for city and highway driving. My complaint is that at this rate I will have to change my rear brakes twice as often and have them inspected more often. The cost for brake replacement at twice the rate of front brakes is 2x. I am concerned that there is a design flaw that can lead to rear brakes failing if I do not have them inspected twice as often as the front brake wear. Typically the front brakes handle 60-70% of the breaking force due to weight transfer. If the rear brake pads are wearing out before the front brake pads, and the rotors need resurfaced it seems that heat buildup due to increased brake wear is affecting the rotors. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The rear brakes, especially the one on the passenger side, are worn out. I took it to the dealer and they tell me that it is normal, something that is not true

Our brakes are making a sound & rough when braking. The dealership has not evidently inspected as should until today, when we told them to look at. Now they say our rear brakes need replacing, they are at a 1 & need attention immediately. Front brakes are good at a 6. We questioned them with 60,303 & we have NEVER towed anything why the rear & not front, no explanation. I see in recalls/complaints where there are other 2024 Pathfinder owners with same/similar complaints: [XXX] ; [XXX] ; [XXX] . Vehicle: 2024 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek 4WD VIN: [XXX] Mileage at failure: approximately 26,000 miles Component: Service brakes Description: Rear brake pads completely worn at 26,000 miles. Front brake pads remain in good condition with normal wear. Vehicle is driven under normal conditions — no towing, no off-road use, no aggressive driving. Rear brake pad part number D4060-6TA5B is the same part used across 2022-2025 Pathfinders. This pad cross-references to the Nissan Altima, a sedan weighing approximately 3,400 lbs. The 2024 Pathfinder Rock Creek weighs over 4,600 lbs and is rated to tow 6,000 lbs. The pad is not engineered for this vehicle’s weight or intended use. The fact that front brakes show normal wear while rears are completely gone proves this is not a driving behavior issue. The rear brake system is receiving disproportionate braking force relative to the capacity of the pads installed. This is a known pattern across the 2022-2024 Pathfinder lineup. A class action lawsuit has been filed: [XXX] v. Nissan North America, Inc., Case No. 3:25-cv-01183, [XXX] , filed 10/13/2025. NHTSA has received multiple prior complaints documenting identical rear brake failure on 2022-2024 Pathfinders at mileages as low as 12,000 miles. Dealer (Peters Nissan of Nashua, [XXX] ) declined warranty repair. Nissan Consumer Affairs notified, Case #XXX. Nissan classifies this as “normal wear and tear” despite failure occurring well within the 3-year/36,000-mile warranty period and despite front brakes showing no comparable wear. This is a safety defect. Premature rear brake failure without warning reduces stopping ability and puts the driver, passengers, and other motorists at risk. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I own/lease a Nissan Pathfinder that currently has approximately 27,000 miles. At approximately 19,000 miles, the dealership resurfaced the brake rotors. The service department stated only that “sometimes it happens” and did not provide a diagnosis or explanation for the premature wear. Now, at approximately 27,000 miles, the dealership has informed me that the rear brake rotors and pads must be replaced due to excessive wear. This appears to be premature brake component failure on a relatively new vehicle. The vehicle is driven primarily on highways and is not used for towing or heavy loads. The early rotor resurfacing followed by rotor and pad replacement shortly afterward raises concerns about potential premature brake system wear or a possible defect in the braking system. Because brakes are a critical safety component, I am submitting this report so the issue can be reviewed to determine whether similar premature brake wear is occurring on other vehicles of this model.

Issues with alternator, oil leakage, and currently the transmission. After sitting idle for 10 to 15 minutes transmission will not shift out of first gear. It has become dangerous to drive the vehicle due to not being able to properly accelerate resulting in the possibility of being hit if driver pulls into traffic. The vehicle has been taken to local Nissan dealership several times without the issue being resolved. Currently, the dealership has had the vehicle for over 30 days and still has no solution for fixing the issue. Vehicle has less than 13,000 miles on it. When the transmission problem began the vehicle had less than 8,000 miles on it. Other issues with the vehicle began when vehicle was only a few months old and had less than 4,000 miles.

5x my Suv in drive popped either out of gear or just would not shift into the next gear. My main concern is i was coming up a hill into a 4 land highway (route 6 and my car would not shift the transmission was whining loud?. I had to shut my car off in the middle of 4 lanes with oncoming traffic to put it in park to get it to shift back into drive to get out of harms way. This happened 4 more times where I had to just stop where i was to put car in park and try it again in drive, which usually fixes it except for 1x would not take off at all. When whines its almost as if the car transmission would blow. No one can recreate this issue so i am stuck with the car that does it randomly. Example bought it new Feb 2025 it is now August & happened 5 times. Hoping they do a recall or sometype of fix I do like my Suv & would like to keep it.
Aug 05, 2025
when stoped at a stoplight the engine shuts off. when you take your foot off the brake and move to the accelerator, the transmission shifts to neutral. This is very dangerous because it's the last thing you expect and when your on a step hill and rolling backwards it takes a moment to act. If a child or pedestrian was behind the vehicle at that moment or a car up close it could be terrible. I have reported it to the dealership and have an appointment this coming Monday morning to have them address the problem. Not a good situation to be shifted out of gear when in traffic or on hills.

Sunroof “exploded” while driving and shattered. Yes, this may be inspected. Risk of glass entering the vehicle. The incident has not been inspected yet. There were not any warning messages or indicators.

On two separate occasions I placed my child in the car and then placed my bag in the front passenger seat of the car with my key fob in the bag. After closing the door, the car would automatically lock as if I had walked away from it with my keys. But the key fob was in the car. My car was not turned on and on one occasion it was 70 degrees outside. I had no way of accessing my car and my child was locked inside it. Luckily things turned out okay, but now I can never trust my keys or my car. I always have my keys on me and never leave them in the car. I know it’s a safety feature for these cars to stay unlocked whenever keys are in the car. My car however, seems to have an issue with this feature. It’s impossible to duplicate so I’m not sure taking it into the shop would make a difference.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
3 complaints
The component that failed/malfunctioned is the instrument cluster and it is available for inspection upon request. The instrument cluster which displays the RPMs, miles, gas gauge, vehicle temperature, speedometer and other pertinent information while operating the vehicle has started to go out. If the entire panel goes completely out there is no way to see any of this information which could also lead to odometer fraud as well as other notifications that are displayed on there going unnoticed. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership to see what would need to be done. They stated the entire instrument cluster would need to be replaced. I feel like this should not already be happening on a not even 2 year old car. There was no warning or any other symptoms of the problem prior to this happening in February of 2026. The cost to replace the entire panel would be over $1200 and after speaking with one of the service technicians at the dealership he stated that this was not the first vehicle he has had in with the same issue. Nissan needs to address this issue because if you can't even get a new vehicle to last 2 years or 45,000 miles before it has a malfunction like this then what are we doing.
Apr 17, 2026
Issue with 360 around view monitor. Picture quality for the 4 cameras at night is very poor. Backing up at night is quite challenging as the picture from the cameras are very fuzzy. If something comes from behind like an animal or a child, it is very difficult to see them. The whole purpose of the backup cameras is to increase safety when backing up. Unfortunately I’ve address this issue with two Nissan dealers and was told that this is normal as designed feature. I had several Nissans before and the picture quality was fantastic, until the 2024 Nissan pathfinder. I hope that someone will start the investigation and address this safety issue.

As a result of service on this vehicle that was provided by Nissan of McKinney in McKinney, Texas the vehicle was intentionally returned to the owner after servicing in an unsafe condition. The service included removal of a trailer hitch receiver and electrical harness that had been installed earlier. After the service and the electrical harness removal, the vehicle was left with exposed electrical conductors underneath the rear bumper that are exposed to the external contaminated road environment. This results in a potential for electrical fire, electrical harness damage, and possible explosion with the exposed electrical conductors so near the fuel tank. The problem has been reported to Nissan of McKinney several times, who, while they acknowledge having received the communications, have not commented on the condition in which they left the vehicle, and will not state if this is a safety issue.

Mar 31, 2026
The engine failed due to coolant infiltration, which caused catastrophic damage and required a full engine replacement. The failed engine remains at Conyers Nissan and is available for inspection upon request. When the vehicle finally started, thick white smoke poured from the exhaust while it was in my garage with the garage door raised. I immediately removed my child from the vehicle and moved it outside to avoid potential fire or toxic fume exposure. The sudden failure created a serious safety risk to both myself and my child. . After failed multiple phone check-ins then finally going to Conyers Nissan, the shop foreman confirmed the problem on October 13, 2025, and determined that the engine must be replaced. To my knowledge, the vehicle has not yet been inspected by Nissan Corporate, insurance representatives, or law enforcement. There were no dashboard warning lamps, error messages, or prior symptoms before the failure. The vehicle had been operating normally until October 9, 2025, when it suddenly became difficult to start and then emitted smoke. All maintenance has been completed according to Nissan guidelines. The incident occurred on October 9, 2025, when the vehicle had 35,855 miles. It has remained at the dealership since that date. Despite the proposed engine replacement and any other associated component, I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle, particularly with my child onboard, due to the severity and suddenness of the failure. I sent an email to Nissan Consumer Affairs (case# 55923865) requesting that Nissan repurchase the vehicle due to this serious safety concern. The dealership stated they cannot give me an inspection report until the repairs are done. However on the status link that is sent via text to check on the vehicle, the inspection shows complete.

I purchased a brand-new 2024 Nissan Pathfinder on December 18, 2024. Just seven days later, at only 1,198 miles, the transmission completely failed while driving, causing the vehicle to come to an unexpected stop and then shift into reverse without warning. This created a serious safety hazard for my family and other road users. The vehicle was out of service for 28 days due to delays in repairs. Even after the transmission was replaced, ongoing issues persist, including poor fuel economy. Nissan has denied my request for a replacement or refund, despite the severity of the failure and continued safety concerns. This vehicle poses a serious safety risk, and I urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue further.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
2 complaints
Engine, ABS, Collison, Traction Control malfunction lights came on. I took it to the dealership and it was determined that the right wheel sensor was reading at 407 mph. After replacing the sensor, the lights came on within minutes of me leaving the dealership. The vehicle is at the dealership currently. With the recent engine replacement and returning within five days for the second issue twice is a safety risk given that the vehicle can brake at any minute while driving which can cause catatrophic danger to me and/or others. The service techs are not sure what is going on with the vehicle. No other issues occured prior to the engine replacement (October 9, 2025 - November 3, 2025 at the dealership) and now the malfunction of the sensors (November 7 - current) twice within days. Dominos effect of safety issues and defects.

The collision warning deactivated the vehicles cruise control and slowed the vehilce down at highway speeds. Traveling at 80mph speed limit and cruise disengaged and as a result the traffic to the rear of the vehicle came very close. There were two vehicles behind my vehicle and it was too close for comfort. The event occurred in North Dakota on Interstate with no forward traffic.

While driving at highway speeds, when attempting to accelerate when passing another vehicle or changing lanes, the vehicle has lost acceleration on more than 1 occasion. I could not accelerate even with the gas pedal all the way down. The car just rolled slowly for about 10 seconds before it began accelerating and jerked forward. Nissan not providing a solution because they “cannot duplicate the issue”

Transmission malfunction/failure caused loss of all power and had to coast over 3 lanes to the only available shoulder on the left side of the express lanes. This in and of itself could have been catastrophic due to the speed of the vehicles on the express lanes. Turns out there's a failure point on the flexplate and nissan techs are aware of the issue. Nissan as a whole should replace them if this is the result.

I was at a stop sign the auto start stop was on. The car stopped engine off while at the stop sign. I heard a chime Ive never heard before, pressed gas pedal and didnt move. Realized the car was off and now was in neutral. It took me a couple minutes to get the car back on and continue on my way. This a brand new car at the time had approx 1025 miles on it. I have now made an appt at the dealership to trouble shoot the issue.

Hi ! I just purchased the 2024 Nissan pathfinder SL on March 13th , 2026 . Three days later I noticed a slight vibration to the car . I was told it was the mount they’d replace both mounts . Get the car from getting the mounts replaced , & when I went to leave with the “ repaired “ the car sounded horrible while in Reverse. It was a loud sound more than just a vibration. I immediately went into the dealer and they said they’d replace the other two mounts . Fast forward to that appointment, I get a call it needs a new motor . I’m not sure the mileage on the vehicle but it’s less than 46k . The mechanic shop in Macon , Ga has had the car two weeks. They replaced the mount close to the transmission with a OM mount , said the previous one was a defective mount . Now they have no clue what is wrong with the car . This car is so “ new “ to be having these issues. So now I’m waiting to hear what the next steps are on this car . Such a beautiful vehicle truly ! I just don’t know if this mount / transmission is going cause me issues nonstop within the car .

The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to the dealer for a routine oil change, the contact was informed that the driver’s and passenger’s side rear brake pads and rotors were severely worn and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that due to the low mileage, the brake pads and rotor should not need to be replaced. The contact stated that there were no issues with the brakes prior to the visit. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that there was a class action lawsuit pending against Nissan for the 2022 and 2023 Nissan Pathfinders due to premature brake pad wear. The class action suit stated that numerous owners of similar vehicles had complained that the brake pads were prematurely worn between 20,000 - 30,000 miles, as opposed to the average 50,000-60,000 mile range. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the failure was caused by normal wear and tear. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

Hello, My name is [XXX] . I need your help!! I bought a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder from Carvana for $41,000.00 at the end of November 2025 I reported some minor damage at the time we picked up the vehicle at Caravan [XXX] . Never heard back. I've only owned this car for 4 months and now the brakes have been screaming and my dashboard is lit up like a Christmas tree!!! All the tires are bald and the air conditioner does not work!!. Ughhh. I was on the phone with Carvana this morning for almost 2 hours.. And ultimately there nothing they can do for me. One the 7 days of course is over the 100 day coverage is gone. I purchased xtra coverage but of course that doesn't cover anything that is wrong with the car... The car has been towed to a shop.. Waiting to hear what the bill is gonna be Yikesss!! HELP!!! I FEEL I HAVE BEEN SOLD A LEMON!! I'm not asking for anything just to repair this vehicle as it should have been before I bought. Selling a vehicle that is less than 2 years old in this condition is not good business practices. This is not right. I was driving the vehicle and it just stopped on the highway, no warning no kickback no precursor that something was wrong with the vehicle, and it stopped, the warning sign: Not available System malfunction came on and then the entire electrical system shut down. I had to have the car towed home because it would not start. I went to the dealer on several attempts and no help was rendered. I was told to either come back or there are too many cars, just really getting the run around for a matter that is fatal. I was driving with my family in the car and it just stopped. I almost had an accident, it could have been fatal. This is unacceptable.

Very unusual and excessive rear brake pads and rotor decay, I was asked by dealership to replace brake pads and rotor just at 22000 miles, and then after replacing again they are asking to replace just after another 19000 miles. I am filing a safety complaint regarding a Chicco NextFit car seat. The anchor tab on my child’s car seat has become visibly stressed and appears to be failing after only two years of normal use. This is extremely concerning as this component is critical to properly securing the seat and ensuring my child’s safety in the event of a crash. I contacted the manufacturer and provided photos. They confirmed that the tab is stressed but did not offer an explanation for how this could happen or provide any investigation or corrective action. The product is discontinued, and I was told I am outside of the warranty period, which does not address the safety concern. This appears to be a potential structural or material failure and could put children at risk if the seat does not perform as intended during a collision. I believe this issue should be investigated to determine whether this is an isolated defect or a broader safety problem affecting other consumers. I am requesting that this issue be reviewed for possible defect or recall to protect child passenger safety.

My 2024 Nissan had a malfunction light of my auto on/off come on and then a malfunction of the traction control. I turned the car on and off which cleared the lights. I then began driving again and those came on as well as check engine light and reduced power came on while on the highway. The code was the camshaft sensor. I replaced this and codes still appear. Another mechanic put my car back on the computer and it is showing my timing chain at a 7. This is very disappointing considering car has less than 86000 miles on it. It isnt under warranty anymore as I do drive a lot. Oil changes were down regularly and this was a cash purchase. I loved my car up until this point. But at this point once I spend the extremely high amount to get this fixed I will be leaving nissan behind.

TIRES
1 complaint
The Original Equipment (OE) Bridgestone Alenza Sport A/S 255/50R20 105H M+S tires on my brand new 2024 Nissan Pathfinder suffer from groove wander on roads in which grooves are cut into them to mitigate hydroplaning in rainy conditions. The geometric design, tread design incompatibility, or structural irregularities of these tires cause severe groove wander and impair safe handling. Groove wander causes the vehicle to follow road grooves involuntarily, which is a handling defect that compromise driver control. Groove wander causes the vehicle to rapidly swerve from side to side, and in the case of my vehicle, feel as if the rear end is "fishtailing" and raising off the pavement. This condition is a safety hazard, especially at highway and interstate speeds or in inclement weather. Groove wander does not allow the vehicle to operate safely, causing the driver to constantly correct the involuntary path of the vehicle on such roads. The driver's and others' safety are at risk if the driver is unable to quickly correct the path of the vehicle and keep the vehicle in the lane of traffic to avoid lane departure into another vehicle or object. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by both the Nissan dealer from I bought the vehicle and a local Bridgestone/Firestone service center because both are unwilling to do so. Both have refused to accompany me on a test drive on Interstate 90 where this occurs because this road is approximately 12 miles one way from their locations (their claim it is too far away; if it was only 5 miles, they would be willing to do this). The tires have been visually inspected by both companies, and naturally both have found nothing wrong with the tires (normal wear at this time). Visually inspecting he tires will not diagnose the issue, and a test ride needs to be completed to document this issue - again both Nissan and Bridgestone refuse to do this. Other brand tires on other vehicles I own do not suffer groove wander.

ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
1 complaint
The vehicle has an ongoing safety-related defect involving the forward distance sensor. The distance sensor randomly turns off while driving, which disables critical collision-avoidance systems including Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning, and Intelligent Cruise Control. The failure is intermittent and unpredictable. The safety systems may appear functional and then shut off without warning, which creates a safety hazard because the driver cannot reliably depend on the vehicle’s crash-prevention features. The vehicle has been taken in for repair multiple times. The distance sensor has already been replaced once, but the problem continues to occur. In addition to the sensor issue, the vehicle has experienced multiple serious repairs, including replacement of the ECM, fuel pump replacement twice, battery replacement twice, engine oil pressure switch replacement, and other electrical-related issues. These repeated failures suggest an ongoing electronic or control system problem. At one point, the vehicle was held by the dealership due to the ECM being removed. A representative at Nissan of Murfreesboro suggested that I could pick up and drive the vehicle without the new ECM installed, stating it “shouldn’t” cause damage. I refused due to safety and risk of engine damage. Nissan Consumer Affairs has denied a buyback request and has only offered partial repair assistance, despite the safety system continuing to fail. The defect remains unresolved and continues to disable collision-avoidance systems while the vehicle is in operation. This issue presents a safety risk due to the loss of crash-prevention functionality without warning. I’ve had issues with the vehicle since I bought it in 2024. Nissan would only see my vehicle if I had a “video” since they have to have “proof” of the issue. Jan. 5, 2026 is the most recent time of me taking it in for the electrical light turning on and they said it’s internal failure of distance censor again.

Car has many problems with battery. The dealership stated the wires are coated with soy, which is a food source for rodents. I've had to get the wires replaced in the car but continue to have problems with the battery. I've had multiple times when the car is dead and needs a jump. The wiper fluid pump also recently stopped working. I'm not sure how the car has not been recalled yet, with coating food for animals how many more wires have been eaten. The seatbelt system, including the computerized imaging alerts on the dashboard, seatbelt warning tone notification, and possibly the seat sensors of the vehicle have been failing and continue to malfunction. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This malfunction alerts and states that passengers are not buckled in the backseats when nobody is in the vehicle but the driver. This malfunction also alerts and states that passengers are not buckled in the backseats when they are this malfunction occurs randomly while driving the vehicle. It was initially brought in for this concern the first week of August 2025 and the local Nissan service techs replaced the seatbelts in 2 of the back seats. Unfortunately, this did not resolve this issue and has been documented with video evidence on multiple occasions. My children are frequent passengers in the backseats of this vehicle and I have safety concerns that should an accident occur, the seatbelts malfunction and are not actually keeping my children safe as expected with a seatbelt. The most recent visit to Nissan services for this problem was on 08/18/2025 to 08/20/2025 where the techs stated the problem could not be reproduced and that all I can continue to do is keep driving the vehicle and take videos of the incidents. Using a phone while driving sounds like a safety concern to me, as well. The vehicle has only been seen, with multiple appointments, at the local Halliday Nissan Service Department. Prior to the original problem the first week of August 2025, these issues first appeared around the end of June, early July 2025. There are warning lamps, signals, and notification noises associated with this issue. I have video documentation, service documentation, recordings, text messages, voicemails as proof of documentation.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE
1 complaint
Since we purchased the vehicle we noticed that power outlet would not work. We have taken this vehicle back to the dealership and even though they "fix it" as soon as we drive it out within in one or two hours it will give out again. The last time we took it they said not to use "off the market" cellphone chargers because that is what is making it not work. Then the AC has also stopped working a couple of times. All of sudden the truck will blow out hot instead of cold air. We have to stop the vehicle, turn it off and let it rest and then the AC will be back up. They have supposedly looked into it. Lastly, this vehicle has on several occasions not accelerated while we are on the road. Even though the speed limit is 75mph it will not move faster than 40mph. At the same time the service lights on the dashboard begin to turn on/off. It has been very difficult because the last time we took the vehicle to the shop it was in there for more than 30 days. I am very concerned that although they say the "fix it" the vehicle can stop running on me and I can have a serious accident with my family in inside.

This morning at approximately 0615 I walked out to my vehicle to go to work. There was no damage to my car. When I entered my vehicle and closed my driver door, my tailgate glass crumbled leaving a massive horizontal hole in my rear windshield as well as the outer sides. There is now glass all over my trunk and driveway. Once again, the car had been sitting in my driveway for three days, there were no large pieces of debris around that could have hit it, and when I was in my car there were no loud sounds indicating something struck my tailgate. It just spontaneously shattered.

AIR BAGS,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
1 complaint
The car was involved in a collision into a jersey barrier on the left side of the vehicle at high speed that is 60 mph first the none of the airbags deployed and including the front airbags driver knee airbags or the curtain side airbags. Next, the driver‘s Apple Watch confirmed that we were in a collision and was able to call 911 where the safety features within the vehicle did not make any notification that we were in a collision, nor is it reflected within the Nissan app that there was a collision after the fact. Additional safety features for an accident are supposed to include four ways being automatically turned on in the car, unlocking the passengers had to engage the 4-way lights and the passenger side front had to unlock the car to be assisted by Paramedics. Additionally, the back driver side tire is completely flat and reads as such within the app at 0 PSI however, the front driver side passenger tire is ripped from its rim and still reading fully at 39 psi. Despite the car being unable to start, additionally, the app is showing that all systems are fine within the car. Finally, the brakes the driver stated their foot was all the way to the floor attempting to break and the passenger front side also heard a severe grinding noise. No warning, lights or lamps appeared during the accident. In addition no warning lights were visible within the app post accident. Finally, there was not an alert sent through the app. Insurance company has considered the car totaled. These have been unable to be reproduced. We have requested that our insurance save and document everything in our insurance, USAA has been unresponsive at this time. Our car has already been moved to Copart Philadelphia and is potentially pending auction. We have requested documentation multiple times.

The auto stop/start function. When enabled sometimes it shuts off engine and does not restart as the system should. Stopping at a red light, almost completely but light turns green and you go to accelerate but auto/stop shuts engine off and car dies in middle of intersection. You have to put in park restart engine and put in drive. Has happened to us 4 times with only 14k on car. Shop can’t seem to see what wrong. Car dies set faults but as soon as you restart car faults go away and Nissan says they can’t see any stored faults. They changed fuel pump put it did. It did not fix the issue. Happens again.

While merging onto the parkway, the gas pedal snapped off during acceleration. There was no warning at all, it just snapped off when I stepped on the pedal. I was fortunate enough to pull over onto the shoulder of the parkway without incident, but I had no way to accelerate the car if I needed to. I was very lucky that nothing happened, but I'm very concerned about driving this vehicle and the potential danger it poses to myself and others if this happens again. I believe this is a serious issue and should be looked into with urgency. I've attached pictures of where the pedal snapped off. It appears to be a cheaply made piece of plastic that completely broke off. There is another picture with the pedal intact and circled in red, you can see an indentation towards the top of the pedal. This is where I believe the pedal broke off from.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
1 complaint
Since I purchased the 2024 Nissan pathfinder in October 2023 I have had multiple issues with the glass windshield and visibility issues. The problem normally occurs when it rains and a white film comes on the windshield making it sometimes impossible to see while driving the vehicle. The problem gets worse at night if its raining because the glare from the light makes it impossible to see anything while driving. On two occasions while driving the car while raining especially at night I have almost ran off the road because the white film on the windshield was so blurry I couldn't see. I have taken the car back to several Nissan dealers who replaced windshield wipers. The problem has still continued after replacing three sets of windshield wipers blades. The windshield has been washed with Windex and film remover and film still remains. I took the car to Coggin Nissan where it was inspected by service adviser and glass rep. The glass rep stated that it was a after market windshield and not the normal Nissan genuine part. The service advisor stated that all he saw was calcium build up from hard water. In addition there also seems to be an issue with the defrost system not working when this film on the windshield appears. This is a serious safety issue that can cause me to get into a serious accident that could injure myself or others.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
1 complaint
Upon purchasing the vehicle, the headlights are not bright enough. There are several threads on reddit talking about this issue. Some people say they are fine, but others are reporting that they have almost hit curbs and other items due to the lack of density. The coverage is far and wide, but the visible light in all conditions is horrible. I had a previous 2021 Nissan Murano with LED headlights and they blew this out of the water. Same for a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The rating on the headlights is not "Good" but "Acceptable." These are unsafe! In snowy weather I could not see the road. I have had to purchase aftermarket lights to supplement the headlights as trading in the vehicle is not financially feasible for us. This needs to be investigated! The dealer is saying they are aimed properly but that Nissan has cut the brightness. This is unsafe! There are a lot of dark areas in the lights. In the photo I have uploaded, my vehicle is aimed down (driveway down on the angled curb) to show the gaps in lighting, so it appears brighter than it actually is). There are a lot of dark spots, etc. too.

4 separate times now when driving the vehicle the vehicle has sputtered and died. The first time we were on a road driving at around 40mph and were able to coast into a parking lot. After a few minutes the vehicle restarted a we took it to the dealer the next day. The first 2 occurrences were in January of 2024. The 3rd occurrence was on April 23,2024. At around 9:30 PM, I was on my way home from the store and driving at 55mph when the vehicle suddenly died and was coasting. I was able to coast into an empty school parking lot. The Pathfinder would not restart and had to be towed to the dealership. They replaced the fuel pump and we picked it up on April 29th. The 4th time happened on May 20, 2024. We had just dropped our dogs off at the groomer and as we were leaving their parking lot, the engine suddenly died and would not restart. Since the vehicle does not have a way of putting it into reverse when it is off, we had to try starting it repeatedly until we were able to get it into neutral and then it had to be pushed back into the parking lot and had to be towed from there to the dealership, where it currently sits.
