Car has extreme CVT shudder on acceleration. Know issue with Nissan (service bulletin NTB17-039K). Confirmed by dealer. Nissan won't fix this issue because of ever changing excuses. Issues caused traffic issue close call accident and driver hit head on side glass due to shudder.

I bought a new transmission from Nissan 2 years and couple of months ago, about 3 weeks ago car started jerking and engine light lit up. I took my car to my mechanic and he told me that it was CVT transmission problem, to take it to Nissan that it should be under warranty. Nissan had the vehicle for about two weeks and informed me that indeed it was the transmission but that it was not covered because I had an implied warranty. I called Nissan consumer affairs that informed me that the service department was wrong and a decision was not made yet. I was treated like trash by Nissan and was thrown out of the premises because I was asking questions she did not like. She accused me of calling names, which I never did and refused to let me take pictures of the vin# from inside the door. She did allow me to take pictures of my vehicle and told to that she was calling the police which was uncalled for. I went and spoke to Nissan managers, Alphonse and Igor about my situation at the service center and that the refused to to let me take a picture and I missed an appointment that I had on with one main financial at 3:00pm. Alphonse came with me to service center and I was able to get my keys and that the manager was lying because I showed him the video that I did. Very disappointed that it went this far, I might be suing Nissan. Because the Nissan supervisor that came with me noticed that the service center manager was lying he did not charge me for the diagnostic done.

BOUGHT CAR A YEAR AGO, EVERYTHING FINE. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG STOPPED WORKING OR STOPPED DETECTING ANYONE SITTING IN THE FRONT SEAT. AN APPARENT KNOWN ISSUE FOR NISSAN FROM 2013-2017. I WAS DRIVING WHILE I HAD A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT AND NOTICED THE AIRBAG WAS TURNED OFF. AND LIGHT WAS FLASHING. THE PERSON WAS OVER THE WEIGHT LIMIT THAT TURNS IT OFF. I TRIED REACHING OUT TO NISSAN AND THEY STATED IT'S ONLY VIN SPECIFIC BUT YET IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THIS YEAR AND MODEL AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS.

ON 7/19/19, MY CAR WAS SERVICED FOR BROKEN PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR DUE TO TECHNICIAN FINDING WATER BOTTLE UNDERNEATH THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT. PAID $638 FOR THE REPLACEMENT. LESSON LEARNED, NO WATER BOTTLES ALLOWED IN CAR. LESS THAN 2 MONTHS LATER, ON 9/12/19, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHTS GO ON AGAIN!! BROUGHT CAR TO SERVICE ON 9/19 AND TECHNICIAN FINDS CLIP TO SENSOR SNAPPED. NO WATER BOTTLE, NO KNOWN REASON WHY THE SENSOR IS BROKEN. HAD TO PAY ANOTHER $189 TO REPLACE IT AGAIN!! I'M TIRE OF THIS PATTERN IF YOU JUST SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, OR BREATHE THERE, THE SENSOR WILL BREAK!! NISSAN HAS DONE A HORRIBLE JOB AT DESIGNING A PROTECTIVE AREA AROUND THE AIRBAG SENSOR!! I CONTACTED CONSUMER SERVICES AT NISSAN AND THEY JUST TOLD ME THEY WILL REVIEW THE CASE AND IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT AFTER MY CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. The problem I am having now envovles the EMC. After getting the catalytic converters replaced 2 times replacing the oxygen sensors 3 times and the manifold replaced, also a few other things that’s all connected the computer won’t acknowledge that’s the new parts have been replaced. So the engine still has a bad exhaust smell and the vehicle won’t run properly. Mechanic said I shouldn’t have a problem with the EMC but it is the problem. The problems go away once the codes are cleared but come back when the engine light comes back on. I have also noticed that a recall for the EMC for the same year vehicle but for a hybrid.

The rear subframe is completely rusty. The problem has been looked at by multiple independent auto repair centers. It is a safety concern as the subframe could fall apart due to the rust putting myself and others at risk while driving this vehicle. I bought this car in June of 2024 and it was a problem that was brought to my attention at that time but was rusty before that.

3 of my door handles have broken once before I had taken ownership of the vehicle. Since owning the vehicle those same 3 door handles have broken again. This is a cause for concern because if you were in a motor vehicle accident you wouldn’t be able to get the doors open from the inside of the vehicle. For the past few months I have been rolling the windows down to open the door from the outside handle..

This recall has been out for 2 years now and Nissan still hasn’t come up with a way to fix it or a replacement. I’m constantly in fear driving down the highway that my hood will fly up into my windshield.

Driver side sun visor has broken and can’t be stowed. Visor now hangs down and blocks at least 50% of the drivers view to the front. Visor can be moved to the left, up against the side window, but then it blocks the view to the left. This is a known issue. It is a safety defect and a recall should be issued.

THE VISOR DOES NOT STAND FLUSH WITH THE ROOF, IT DROPS DOWN INTO THE DRIVER'S LINE OF SIGHT. THEY WILL OFTEN FALL COMPLETELY DOWN, MAKING IT A SAFETY ISSUE FOR THE DRIVER.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a fractured rear sub-frame. The contact was informed that the sub-frame was corroded. The contact was informed that the rear sub-frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 262,000.

The contact stated that he was informed at a State Inspection that the vehicle had failed the inspection due to severe rust on the front sub frame, at the engine cradle location. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the entire sub frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that no assistance would be provided because the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000. The VIN was not available.

While driving I noticed the front alignment was all of a sudden off. When parked I checked around the vehicle and found the driver side rear wheel to be kicked out at an angle. I checked the rear under carriage and found the nearly the whole rear subframe and crossmember to be rusted out. The bushing that held the control arm to the subframe came off in my hand. For a vehicle with only 80k and always garaged I was surprised at the extent of the rust. Had the full subframe failed at highway speed it could have been a lot worse. The rear wheel assembly was only connected to the car by the spring and control arm. After some online research I have found many other examples of similar failures with the rear subframe on this generation of Nissan Pathfinders. No recall exists for this failure. $4700 repair bill.

1.) The engine makes extremely loud running noise after pressing gas pedal. It is available for inspection. 2.) no NOTICEABLE safety of occupants was place at risk. We will say the deafening sound of the engine when accelerating is unsettling. 2a) The vehicle struggles to accelerate fast after pressing acceleration pedal. 2b.) It’s not shifting automatically at all. 3.) the problem have not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, only reported to dealer. 4.) The vehicle or component havr not been inspected by police, manufacturer, insurance representatives or others. 5.) there weren’t any warning ️ lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The sudden occurrence was observed three-days ago, when the loud engine sputtering noise began after running quietly earlier in the day. 5a) it simply sounded like the header pipe (s) to the engine became disconnected from the engine, or the equivalent of the header/engine exhaust pipe(s).

The catalytic converter bank one has been replaced twice within a year on this vehicle and now for the year is out it needs to be replaced a third time. I do not know if there is a manufacturing issue with that but I don’t have another $3000 to replace this. The catalytic converter bank one only stays good for less than six months, but the warranty runs out after the three month period. I am not sure around the month, but I do believe it first started happening December of last year. I can get the paperwork from my mechanic.

Overheating, Burning Smell, Shuddering, Transmission Failure. The Safety concerns are that the vehicle will shut off/stall involuntarily The Safety Problem has been confirmed by a dealer. The Vehicle hasn’t been inspected by the Manufacture since 2017 by its previous owner. It was a pre-owned vehicle when I purchased it in 2023. I am not able to transport the vehicle to Nissan due to the CVT safety concern. [XXX] The Check Engine Light came on the same day the issue was discovered. My car (2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid) has been stuttering/juddering as it has been described by other users. took to my local mechanic who found the software needed to be updated. he was nice enough to take to the local Nissan dealer (San Leandro) phone (510) 347-3030 who did a software upgrade. since then, the juddering/stuttering is a lot worse and doing things it has not done before. they are saying I need a new transmission which does not sit well with me because the car is worse off from the software upgrade that they performed. it was doing much better prior to that. now I get a couple error messages one of which says the hybrid system is overheated - how could it be overheating soon after starting the car first thing in the morning when it has not been running all night. it never did this before. I also get an I-key system error which never popped up before either. in addition, the car has stopped in the middle of the road while street driving which can be a dangerous event! i have called Nissan consumer affairs and they were pretty useless. all they could do is place a dealership complaint. please help.

We took are vehicle in for AC service. At this time the dealer performed a recall fix for a break relay switch. After the supposed recall was corrected we had issues. The issues were loss of power after pressing and releasing brake. The other issue was having to make multiple attemps to start car. They happen at random moments after driving vehicle over 25 miles in city driving. The dealer claime and charged 2.5k dollars to replace a transfer transmission part. This was not the issue and we still lose power after braking. The main problem is we didn't have these issue until the dealer made the supposed repairs. There are no error codes for any issues with the vehicle. I don't think the recall procedure was completed or was not completed properly.

After dealership replaced the stop lamp switch and brake pedal position switch, they came back in less than 20 miles to say that the noise from my brakes was from the master cylinder and brake booster. A bill of over $1600 in which I feel is in no way my responsibility but Nissan and dealership rejected my request for assistance. I was hoping that the recall resolved the noise and shifting issues I have been complaining about to two Nissan dealership for almost 2 years. All of my Nissan vehicle services have been completed by Nissan dealerships including oil changes, brakes pads and rotors, battery replacement amongst other devices/ parts. I am a loyal customer to Nissan but disappointed in their response to this bill.

I bought my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 sv a couple months ago and it’s always had when starting where the RPMS will constantly jump while driving, I took the car in to Nissan dealership in Tridelphia wv multiple times, after buying to have recalls done that needed to be done and they said it was fine no previous codes or anything. Then driving home from work [XXX] the check engine light came on and codes were CVT Judder, Bank 1 Low Catalytic Converter, Driver TPMS Sensors Bad. And then after couple days the check engine light went off. Car has a loud Humming noise prior to light coming on and still. RPMS still jump but now the speedometer does it as well. This can’t be safe and there’s been multiple accidents/complaints about the CVT Death Judder in these suvs and for what we pay for them it should be fixed before someone dies.They need to be recalled ASAP!!! Transmission sputters, hesitates at acceleration & after stopping sputters to move. Then died in intersection turning left. Evening tow sat behind vehicle for safety. In 1 situation actually rolled back at slight incline RR tracks after took my foot off brake. Had to put into park, before I could move forward. 1/6/23-Car turned off on me before entering the highway, luckily I was still in the street. Took it to the Nissan dealership and they stated the car was done for and gave me a trade in value of $1500. This car was purchased sometime in July 2022. Now The dealership of Nissan is quoting me $8K to fix the battery. Also charging a high diagnostic fee. Don’t think it’s fair their selling cars like these to people where they know the battery is expensive.

After performing Recall PC786 my vehicle still randomly fails to start and I have to wait for 20 to 30 minutes for it to respond to normal start procedure. Fob battery new, battery good, break engaged. The recall didn’t provide a solution, problem with starting relay and connectivity remains. Safety issue.

The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving at 50 MPH, the hood unexpectedly opened, obstructing his view and causing him to swerve into oncoming traffic. The contact was able to pull over on the shoulder of the roadway. There was smoke coming from underneath the hood. The failure damaged the hood, fender, and body of the vehicle. The contact was made aware by Carfax that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V420000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AT ~ 30MPH, THE HOOD FLEW OPEN BENDING BOTH THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER FENDERS AND MANGLING THE SEALS. THE FORCE AT WHICH THE HOOD OPENED NEARLY BROKE THE WINDSHIELD AND DID NOT ALLOW FOR THE DRIVER TO SEE OUT OF ANY PART OF THE WINDOW REQUIRING AN IMMEDIATE STOP. THERE WAS NO INDICATION ON THE DASHBOARD THAT THE HOOD WAS AJAR. IN DOING SOME RESEARCH, THERE IS A RECALL ON THE SAME YEAR/MAKE/MODEL BUT NONE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS VIN. WHILE THE DRIVER AND NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT, THIS ISSUE HAD THE POTENTIAL TO INJURY OR KILL SOMEONE IF THIS HAD HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY OR ON A BUSIER ROAD.

Good morning I am sure you are well aware of the cvt transmission problems with the Nissan pathfinder 2014. . Well I just join the group of Nissan [XXX] drivers . I had my cvt transmission replaced and I am still getting the judder as they call it each time I accelerate. Mileage was roughly 143K when I had notice these judder problems . Went to AAMCO had a new cvt transmission put in drive roughly 500 miles since then . I still experience those juddering incidents of the cvt transmission. What can be done ? Will go back to aamco but other then this , any recalls any liability on Nissan itself for manufacturing bad components or a bad cvt transmission? As for the airbag indicator light flashing on the dash . That happen after my cvt was replaced . Any ideas please ? Would appreciate any help advice here . Thank you . The transmission jerking/shuddering problem has been ongoing in the Nissan Pathfinder ever since a safety recall in 2014. Passenger airbag light is always on, even if an adult is seated there. The airbag warning light flashes on the dashboard. Nissan’s OCS system seems to be frequently complained about online. Dealers say it’s just wear and tear which is just unbelievable. Dealers quote repair / replacement cost for the frame and harness anywhere from $1200-$2900. I want to report this issue so that others with the same problem may come forward so a recall be issued.

PURCHASED PRE OWNED 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER SL 4X4 WIT 30,000 MILES FROM SERRA VISSER CULLMAN, AL NISSAN DEALER IN MAY 2015. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE NOTICED PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT WOULD MALFUNCTION (MEANING SHOWING THAT IT WAS OFF) WHEN SOMEONE WAS SITTING IN PASSENGER SEAT. EVEN WHEN NO ONE WAS SITTING IN SEAT IT WOULD SHOW AIR AG WAS ACTIVE WHEN IT SHOULD BE TURNED OFF. TOOK TO SAME SERVICE DEPT. I BOUGHT VEHICLE FROM. THEY RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND SAID VEHICLE WAS FUNCTIONING AS IT SHOULD AND TO BASICALLY IGNORE LIGHT. I WAS TOLD "TRUST ME YOUR AIR BAG WILL ACTIVATE". NOW VEHICLE HAS 37,100 MILES AND STARTING TO NOTICE THE CVT TRANSMISSION WILL SHUDDER/JUDDER AT CERTAIN SPEEDS. TAKE FOR INSTANCE YESTERDAY BETWEEN 20-25 MPH THE VEHICLE JUST STARTED TO JERK SIGNIFICANTLY. I DECLINED BECAUSE THIS SHOULD FALL UNDER THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY AND PROCEEDED TO CALL NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS HOTLINE TO OPEN CASE ABOUT ISSUES. I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS. IT SEEMS THAT NONE OF THE REPROGRAMMING, REPLACING TRANSMISSIONS, TORQUE CONVERTERS EVEN SOLVES THE PROBLEM. IVE EVEN READ WHERE IT IS A DESIGN FLAW IN TRANSMISSION. THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR HAS AN INNER PLASTIC PIECE BROKEN WHICH MAKES THE SUN VISOR RANDOMLY FALL, BLOCKING MY VIEW WHEN DRIVING. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE ON MANY 2014 PATHFINDERS THAT CAN BE FIXED BY MAKING THE PARTS (VISOR) BETTER, OR BY SELLING A REPLACEMENT PART FOR THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT EASILY BREAKS. INSTEAD, THE MANUFACTURER ONLY SELLS AS A REPLACEMENT PART, THE EXACT SAME VISOR THAT IS LIKELY TO BREAK AGAIN. A SECOND ISSUE ON THIS CAR IS THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE DOOR. I FIND MYSELF OFTEN TRAPPED INSIDE THE CAR OR OUTSIDE THE CAR DUE TO THIS DOOR HANDLE MALFUNCTION. THIS COULD EASILY BECOME A LIFE/DEATH SAFETY ISSUE IF EVER I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS TRAPPED INSIDE THE CAR. THIS IS ANOTHER COMMON DEFECT ON THIS CAR CAUSED BY A CHEAP PLASTIC PIECE BREAKING. THE SUN VISORS ON OUR 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER STARTED TO DROOP DOWN AND EVENTUALLY BECAME SO LOOSE THAT THEY DID NOT STAY UP AT ALL AND ARE DANGLING ALL THE WAY DOWN. Rear subframe failure due to rust.

The car started making a very annoying squeak from the left rear when going over bumps or entering and exiting the car. I took it to my local mechanic to investigate the problem. He discovered the rear suspension sub-frame was rusted out where it attaches to the car body. I was advised that the car was unsafe and should not be driven. I am awaiting more information from my mechanic about the repairs. There were no accidents or injuries caused by this but there could have been if I continued to drive the car. I will retain the rusted sub-frame once the repairs are made. I read three other similar complaints ( all 2014 Pathfinders ) on this web site. I think Nissan should be made aware of this situation.

Heard loud clunk from passenger rear of vehicle, then started hearing binding clunk noise from rear when going over bumps or turning at certain points. Inspection of rear suspension area on rear passenger side revealed a sub-frame that had rusted to the point a suspension part had broken from the frame and was sitting in a hole in the sub frame instead. Surrounding areas of undercarriage not rusted like the sub frame was.... The frame of a vehicle rusting to point of breakage at only 11 years old is a safety hazard suspension wise.....Suspension parts bolted to the sub-frame at multiple points.

in late June 2025, I heard a loud noise in the rear of the Pathfinder, that would happen during normal driving and worsen if I went over a speed bump for example. I took it to a local mechanic . He informed me that the rear subframe was rotted. It was undriveable once I knew how dangerous this situation was. I have a [XXX] child. I am his legal guardian and he lives with me. We spend a lot of time going for rides and doing things he likes. I was shocked when I heard what was wrong. Thank God we did not get injured or worse. Now, this frame needs to be replaced and I can imagine the cost to me.I am a retired RN. I have seen a good amount of complaints on line in Google from other Pathfinder owners regarding the exact same issue, Why wasn't there a recall? Will Nissan reimburse me once I get an estimate and the car fixed?This is not fair. I do not tow a boat, the car has not been submerged in water...I Imagine the frame was not prepped properly by Nissan. I know Nissan recalled some vehicles a few years back for the rotted sub frame issue. Now I have to pay for a repair..I need assistance please. I am using someone's car in the meantime. As I am accelerating once the car reaches 30-60 mph there is a very distant shuddering that occurs that cause the engine to lose some power and turns the check engine light on. This appears to be a common problem as I have found many complaints on forums describing very similar symptoms.

PURCHASED 2014 PATHFINDER NISSAN FROM NALLEY NISSAN IN DECATUR, GEORGIA. PRIOR TO PURCHASING I CONDUCTED MY RESEARCH AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE THEIR WAS A RECALL ON THE HOOD LATCH. I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS HAD BEEN REPAIRED. AFTER RETURNING HOME WITH THE CAR OVER 170 MILES, THE 2ND DAY (RAINY MORNING) WHILE TRAVELING WITH MY TWO DAUGHTERS, HOOD BLEW BACK (BENDING BOTH SIDES), WHICH BLINDED MY VISIBILITY, THUS FORCING ME TO STEER OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID HITTING OTHERS. THE DEALER WAS NOT RESPONSIVE AND I CONTACTED NISSAN HEADQUARTERS. AFTER 2-WEEKS, AN INVESTIGATOR CAME AND RULED THAT THE HOOD WAS NOT REPAIRED PROPERLY. IT TOOK NEARLY 4-ADDITIONAL WEEKS TO PROCESS PAPERWORK. AFTER 6-WEEKS OF PAYING OUT OF POCKET FOR CAR RENTALS (THEY WOULD NOT PAY NOR ASSIST ME WITH GETTING A RENTAL CAR) WHICH CAUSED FINANCIAL HARDSHIP; EMOTIONAL DISTRESS (EMERGENCY ROOM VISITS AND SEVERAL DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS); AND NOT TO MENTION TWO PAID CAR NOTES WITHOUT THE CAR. THE PROBLEM STARTED A FEW MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED MY CAR. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO INVESTIGATE AND FIX MANY TIMES. THE COMPANY HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE A FIX FOR THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS). THIS IS PUTTING THE PASSENGER AT RISK OF FATAL INJURY OR RENDERS THE VEHICLE USELESS. WHILE VACUUMING UNDER BACK SEATS NOTICED RUST UNDER SEATS. ONLY HAD VEHICLE 1 MONTH. SHOWED DEALERSHIP AT NEXT OIL CHANGE. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO GET THE DEALERSHIP TO DO ANYTHING I CONTACTED NISSAN MYSELF. THEY TRIED TO TELL ME THAT THIS RUST UNDER THE SEATS IS ENVIRONMENTALLY INDUCED FROM SALT ON THE ROADS WHILE TRANSPORTING THE VEHICLE FROM A NEIGHBORING STATE. THe ABS, brake and skid and other lights came on screen with 4WD error At this speed on a bridge with rain and wind to lose ABS is a risk, there was perceived loss of power train and and skid luckily no accident and we pulled the car over to safety what if was higher speed in rain/snow so writting this and also that nissan has a technical bulletin but not covered under nHtSA for them replace for free. THis was all sudden with shake. just like the picture in the https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10190203-0001.pdf We like to know if this is recall and is covered and to be paid by dealer or we have to out of pocket and if NTSB can help us and consumers recover this from Nissan or Nissan should do a safety recall on this part.

THE TRANSMISSION IN MY 2014 PATHFINDER HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE I PURCHASED IT. I HAVE DEALT WITH REPLACING COMPUTER COMPONENTS IN THE TRANSMISSION, FIXING FAULTY BRAKING SYSTEMS THAT CAUSE THE CAR TO SHUTDOWN, AND A TRANSMISSION THAT WAS FINALLY REPLACE ONLY TO FAIL ROUGHLY 4 WEEKS LATER! WHILE STATIONARY AND MOVING MY VEHICLE BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE STAYED ON EVEN WHEN I AM OUT OF THE CAR AND THE CAR IS OFF. OUR NISSAN PATHFINDER IS GIVING US INACCURATE FUEL GAUGE READING WHEN THE FUEL IN THE TANK IS AT 1/4 OR BELOW. IT CAN SHOW US THAT WE HAVE 120 MILES TO EMPTY TANK AND 5 MINUTES LATER THAT WE HAVE 20 MILES TO EMPTY, THEN IT COULD STAY AT 20 MILES FOR MORE THAN 50-60 MILES DRIVEN. The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle was shaking, and the front end of the vehicle was wobbling. The contact pulled over and stopped to inspect the vehicle; upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact was unaware of the cause of the failure. The contact drove to a nearby Auto Parts Store and upon turning into the parking lot, the wheel detached from the vehicle. The contact stated that while inspecting the vehicle, the contact became aware that four of the five lug nuts were missing from the passenger’s side wheel. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact stated that an independent mechanic arrived at the residence and repaired the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 139,000.

THE TIRES WORE VERY QUICKLY ON THE BACK. I TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. I ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 5-6 MONTHS WHEN I FIRST NOTICED HOW BADLY THE TREAD HAD WORN DOWN. THE FRONT TIRES ARE WORN VERY BADLY AND I BARELY HAVE 26000 MILES. THERE IS NO REASON THE TIRES SHOULD HAVE WORN DOWN THIS QUICKLY. The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23T009000 (Tires) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue but provided no assistance. The contact had not experienced a failure. The VIN was not available.

Tire size Continental Cross Contact 235/65/R18 LX 20. Three tires developed sidewall bubbles the fourth has tread breaking down. It was found during routine tire inspection at the car dealer. Tires have about 40,000 mile on them and rotated every 5,000. Contacted Continental and told them the problem. They were not very helpful. I purchased new tires because having 3 bubbles is unsafe. I went to Costco to purchase new tires. Will never buy Continetal tires again. If you have theses tires have them inspected frequently.

I was experiencing shaking and guttering during acceleration. I was coming from a full stop (red light, stop sign). It shakes, and I have back off the accelerator. When it happened, I had my children in the car on a busy roadway. I would hate to think of what could have happened if my vehicle had stopped on the busy road or crossing railroad tracks. Thankfully, we were close to home, roughly 2-3 miles away. I took the truck to the closest service center to have it looked at. It turns out it is a CVT failure. The service technician could reproduce the same guttering I explained and received various error messages. I have not had the vehicle taken to the dealer yet, as I would have to tow it because I fear driving the truck. I didn't experience any warning lights before the CVT failure. Now my airbag warning light comes on. I called the closest Nissan dealership and explained the issue I was having. Unfortunately, my vehicle has not been repaired because I don't have the $6k plus I was quoted for the repair. I have been made aware of a class action lawsuit regarding failing CVT transmissions. I don't have any information on where I can get help with this issue, and I don't have any correspondence from Nissan. My Pathfinder has been parked since April 2023.

FROM TIME TO TIME, MY 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER WILL NOT ACCELERATE ON FULL THROTTLE WHILE DRIVING. I NOTICED THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME WHEN THE MILEAGE WAS AROUND 22K, AND NOW AROUND 34K, IT IS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP A WEEK AGO TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. THEY CHANGED A BRAKE RELAY AND DID SOME RECALL-RELATED SOFTWARE UPDATES. SINCE THEN, IT IS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY. I ALMOST GOT HIT BY ANOTHER CAR IN THE INTERSTATE RAMP AS I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. I LOOKED UP ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THIS WAS THE MAJOR ISSUE AMONG THE 2013-2014 PATHFINDERS AND THEY HAVE RECALLED CLOSE TO THE MILLION VEHICLES FOR THIS. HOWEVER, ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER'S TAG ON MY CAR, THIS BATCH WAS BUILT AFTER THE RECALL DATE (AUGUST 2014). IT LOOKS LIKE NISSAN PROBABLY HAVE NOT YET FOUND THE REAL SOLUTION FOR THIS ISSUE, OR, THEIR CVT TRANSMISSION DESIGN IS FUNDAMENTALLY FLAWED. The contact stated that the failure occurred while driving or while the vehicle was idle. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that they were not obligated to repair any additional damages during the recall repair. We have a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder and started having issues in June 2021. Our car stalled while driving home from work almost causing an accident. Had it towed to Nissan and they told us we needed to replace the Transmission. It took them 2 months to fix our car. In the midst of fixing the transmission they said the supercharger pulley needed to be replaced. OKAY! We finally get our car and a day later the check engine light is on again and now the horn wont stop blaring. We had to disconnect the battery. WE TOOK IT BACK TO NISSAN and they said the battery was bad. They replaced it but it did not fix the issue. Nissan had to call the Nissan Tech Line for suggestions. So they said the DC/DC converter assy needed to be replaced and the HV harness was also failing to communicate. All this is connected to the transmission. With the new recall coming out all of this should be refunded. We need assistance. Any information or suggestions anyone has would be highly helpful.

I PURCHASED A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER AS USED VEHICLE IN SEPTEMBER 2015. SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE MY WIFE HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT THE VEHICLE SHUDDERING AT LOW SPEED OR WHEN TURNING. THIS SHUDDERING HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT AND NOW HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS CRUISING DOWN THE ROAD. WE HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL SHOW THAT THERE IS NO BODY IN THE SEAT EVEN WHEN THERE IS SOMEONE SITTING IN THE SEAT. I purchased my car 1 year ago. Since then my car has continued to stutter. Sometimes its a suttle stutter, most times its very noticeable and has continued to get worse in the short time I've had my car. I commute 1 hour to work and 1 hour home from work and am very concerned traveling on the highway at high speeds with this issue. I've asked a dealership in Hutchinson, KS to help me with this issue as I am concerned the CVT valve in the transmission has not been fixed and they won't help me. They tell me that since their tech does not witness the stutter during their brief test drive there is nothing they can do to help. I've read several complaints on nhtsa.gov from other customers as well and they are consistent with my concern.

I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON MY NEW NISSAN PATHFINDER 2014. 1. CRUISE CONTROL INTERMITTENTLY DISENGAGES GOING DOWN A SHALLOW BUT STRAIGHT ROAD. IN A 3 TO 4 MILE DRIVING STRETCH, IT WILL, AT TIMES, DISENGAGE 2 TO 3 TIMES. 2. THE 'SET' AND 'RESUME' TOGGLE SWITCH AT TIMES THEN DOES NOT RE-ENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL. THE SWITCH ACTS DEAD. I THEN HAVE TO SWITCH OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL AND THEN SWITCH IT BACK ON TO HAVE THE TOGGLES SWITCH WORK BUT NOT ALWAYS. 3. THE CRUISE AND SET INDICATORS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DO NOT FLICKER. THE NISSAN DEALER CARRIED OUT A TEST RUN AND FOUND THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGING EXACTLY AS STATED ABOVE. THEY REPLACED PART #25550-3KS1A, SWITCH ASSEMBLY-STE, TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM BUT IT DID NOT. THEY REITERATE THAT SUCH A CONDITION OF CRUISE DISENGAGEMENT AS STATED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL IS CONSIDERED NORMAL AND ACCEPTABLE. HAVING READ THE OWNER'S MANUAL, I DO NOT FIND ANY MENTION OF THE TOGGLE SWITCH INTERMITTENTLY ACTING DEAD AFTER DISENGAGEMENT OF THE CRUISE CONTROL NOR THE HIGH FREQUENCY OF THE DISENGAGEMENT. Pressing the gas pedal from a full stop resulted in no car accleration (aside from normal car rolling forward from taking foot off of brake) and no engine 'acceleration'. Only when I pressed hard enough did the car suddenly lurch forward/accelerate. This is very risky, as I had been making a turn I would potentially be blocking the incoming lane. In addition, after parking in a parking lot, and turning off the car, I noticed that the brake lights were still lit up.

The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that upon closing the hood, the hood failed to latch securely. The contact released the hood release lever on the secondary hood latch, allowing the hood lock release cable to hold the hood in place and to prevent the hood from unexpectedly opening. Additionally, the contact stated that the front driver's side sun visor clips had fractured, causing the sun visor to lower, obstructing the visibility of the roadway while driving. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V420000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that there was no failure with the secondary latch. The dealer lubricated the hood lock assembly and the secondary hood latch; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

Alternator failed, Broken Tensioner, Catalytic converters bad, Engine misfiring, Brake failure. Discovered odometer disclosure is incorrect and VIN is wrong on the inspection certification. Odometers to the best of my knowledge only move forward, not backward unless they are tampered with or the information presented is fraudulent. I could have nearly been injured fatally, when the car stopped on three separate occasions and ultimately the brakes failed. I had the car less than 1 month in my possession and out of approximately 30 days, it did not run consecutively for 7 days. This information was turned into the Virginia State Police - Office of Inspections; however, they found no fault, but this is a clear misrepresentation of vehicle identification and mileage.

Experience judder and stall of vehicle while driving, pulling off and coming from a complete stop. Vehicle will lose power while driving which is unsafe when getting on the freeway or driving in high traffic areas. Vehicle has been taken to the Nissan twice and to other repair shops for related concern and all have stated that the trans needs replacing. There were no lights or warnings before problems started it all occurred simultaneously.

While driving on the parkway several times for traveling to work, my car would suddenly and violently shudder and drop speed much lower than the posted speed limit. My RPMs would race from 1.5 to 5 but no increase in speed when the accelerator was pushed. I had to put my emergency 4 way lights on and drive in the far right lane. Nissan dealership kept saying the vehicle was working fine when I complained about it. I took it in for service at least twice, nothing found. Then when my whole family was with me, the car shuddered violently, and would not respond at all with the accelator pedal and was unresponsive and the brakes difficult to engage and hard to steer. I had to glide into the shoulder to make a full stop. Then the engine would not turn off. All I could do was put my emergency flashers on and put the windows down for air. I had to call for help. My husband then tried the next day to drive my vehicle to the Nissan dealership, but again, the vehicle broke down and had to be towed. Nissan then finally diagnosed the problems as needing transmission replacement. Since it is a hybrid 2014 Nissan Pathfinder with less than 84,000 miles and over 7 years old I would need to buy a new transmission for over $14,000. My milage is under 73,500, but my vehicle is 9 years old. So my mileage is acceptable, but the age of the vehicle disqualifies me, because both parameters must be met for warranty to be effective. I already spent $1400 for a new air compressor system less than 3 months earlier for the same vehicle. I had no heat and no air conditioner.

Yesterday as I was driving normally at about 40mph the traffic came to a stop I slowed down as usual then came to a complete stop when traffic began to move again I gently accelerated and my car started moving abnormally slow I pressed down a bit more on the pedal and no acceleration at all the car was on and on drive mode there was nothing irregular but it would not advance more than about 2/3 miles per hour super slow. This went on for a minute and no matter how many times I pressed the gas pedal nothing happened I was absolutely terrified of the cars and semis behind me because it was a freeway and traffic flow started moving quick and I was still at less than 5mph Suddenly the car jerked and at last speed. I drove off with the car working normal again but that situation has be very worried and scared because it is my main transportation for my 3 children

The contact also stated that the vehicle would hesitate upon the depression of the accelerator after a complete stop. Additionally, the vehicle would shake as the engine would rev while idle without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving 25-30 MPH, the hood flew open and crashed into the windshield, cracking the windshield. There was no injury sustained. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact closed the hood manually. The contact then drove to his residence. The vehicle was taken to Safelite where the windshield was replaced. The contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V420000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). However, the parts to do the recall repair were not yet available. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 114,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving up a hill during icy road conditions at approximately 10 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. As a result, the vehicle slid backwards down the hill and crashed into a brick mailbox. The catalytic converter warning light was illuminated prior to the failure however the part was on back order. The front air bags failed to deploy and the unknown air bag that did deploy trapped her in the vehicle causing it to need to be cut in order to release the contact. The failure had occurred on several occasion. The contact did not sustain any injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it remained pending an investigation from Nissan. The contact received NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V774000 (Engine and Engine Cooling, Hybrid Propulsion System) back in 2021 however parts had not been available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that there was no remedy for the recall repair. The contact was concerned that it will take 3 months for Nissan to conclude their investigation with the vehicle failure and that in the meantime she was left with no transportation. The failure mileage was 130,000.

In 2017 the engine light came on and I took my car to Nissan of McKinney, Texas. They found the transmission was damaged and they claimed they replaced with another/new transmission. On November 18, 2021 the engine light came on again and I took the car to Nissan of McKinney. Michael D. Riffe at phone number 214 390 5370 or 469 877 0690 was my service agent., after inspecting the car, he told me that the transmission is bad again and I need to pay approx. $5900 before tax and labor. I reminded him that they had just changed the transmission in 2017 so I didn't understand why the 2nd transmission went bad again, he refused to help repair/replace the transmission even though they claimed to have installed a new transmission in 2017. Michael told me since I had added miles on the car they can't replace the transmission and I will need to pay approx. $5900 before tax for it to be replaced. Nissan of McKinney is deceptive, I feel like I was robbed and Nissan of McKinney lied in 2017 when they claimed that they had replaced the transmission because a transmission does not just break and they never showed me proof that they had installed a new transmission. I am requesting for assist so Nissan of McKinney/Nissan can take full responsibility and repair/replace the transmission at no charge. Also, after a research I found similar SUVs had transmission issues and there was a lawsuit filed in which Nissan accepted to settle, I was never made aware of this lawsuit and my vehicle is one of the affected vehicles in the lawsuit.

June 2021 I brought my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder in for routine maintenance. I was informed there was a recall for the 'Brake Switch'. I had not received notice for this recall but east Charlotte Nissan insisted it get done. Until this date I had NO problems with this vehicle. Right after the recall was done I was driving thru a round-a-bout, tapped the brakes and then had NO Acceleration. There was a semi-truck on my bumper and I had no where to go. I immediately brought the vehicle back to EC and they insisted it was my transmission. They said they found no issues and charged me for work that was not necessary. I continued to brake down 4 more times pulling my trailer from NC to ME. Two incidents were on I81N. I had semi-trucks all around me. Panicked!! I had the vehicle into 4 different dealers, 6 different times. They could not fix the issue. I asked Berlin City Nissan to at least replace the recall parts. They did. My vehicle totally broke down this time, again going thru a round-a-bout. Every light on the dash was flashing. I had no control of the vehicle but was able to roll onto the sidewalk. I was too afraid to drive this vehicle any further. I called a tow truck. Several dealers explained they had seen this already and thought they could repair. None Could. Marc Motors sent that vehicle off to auction, as is!!! I have nightmares of some mom breaking down with her kids in the car. I have filed complaints with Nissan, 10 different departments. Nissan Corporate is telling me the NHTSA is responsible for the Nightmare Nissan has caused me and have 'brushed me off'. I am now in a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder and have identified 3 different issues with the vehicle. One of which is very dangerous. Not sure where to go next. I have all the documentation to back up my claim. Can you help?

I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE YOU AWARE OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER HYBRID WHICH YOU SHOULD NOTIFY OTHER CUSTOMERS OF AS WELL. THE REAR BLOWER MOTOR IS USED TO COOL THE VERY EXPENSIVE BATTERY SYSTEM AND HOLD OFF BATTERY FAILURE. THERE ARE NO SENSORS OR FEEDBACK MONITORING OF THE REAR BLOWER MOTOR TO CONFIRM IT IS OPERATIONAL. THE REAR BLOWER MOTOR OF MY PATHFINDER HAS DIED 3 TIMES WITHOUT ISSUING EITHER A SERVICE CODE OR ANY INDICATION OF A SYSTEM FAILURE. THIS HAS THEN LED TO THE DEATH OF THE VERY EXPENSIVE BATTERY PACK. THE FIRST FAILURE HAPPENED IN 2016 AT 37,000 MILES AND IT APPEARS TO HAVE A MODULUS OF ROUGHLY 35,000 BETWEEN DEATHS AND SHOULD BE PRO-ACTIVELY REPLACED BY THE OWNER TO PREVENT THE VERY EXPENSIVE BATTERY FROM HAVING TO BE REPLACED. THE ONLY INDICATION TO THE USER THAT ANYTHING IS WRONG IS THAT THE BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR SHUTS DOWN WHILE IN MOTION. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED TO ME I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND WAS STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE LANE UNTIL A POLICE VEHICLE ARRIVED. THE NEXT TIME WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHEN I WAS ON SIDE STREETS WHERE THE CAR CAME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF AN UNLIT ROAD, WITH THE BATTERY DYING COMPLETELY AFTER AN HOUR WHILE WAITING ON A TOW TRUCK. THE LAST ROUND HAPPENED 3 WEEKS AGO (ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON THANKFULLY WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT POSSIBILITY) - THE CAR WENT INTO THE SHOP AND THE VERY EXPENSIVE BATTERY WAS REPLACED BUT NOT THE REAR BLOWER (AS THEY WERE UNAWARE OF THE FAILURE). I GOT THE CAR BACK FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS BEFORE THE CAR DIED AGAIN WITH THE SAME ERROR - AT WHICH POINT THE TECHNICIANS IDENTIFIED THE REAR BLOWER DIED (AGAIN). YOU SHOULD NOTIFY OTHER CUSTOMERS OF THIS 5 YEAR OLD PRODUCT OF THE DESIGN DEFECT AND THE NEED TO CHECK THE BLOWER FAN REGULARLY TO ENSURE THE VERY EXPENSIVE BATTERY HAS A LONG LIFE.

I HAD 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER AND MY VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND PASSED WITH NO ISSUES IN JUNE 2019. THE DAY OF THE ACCIDENT, I DROVE ALL MORNING WITH NO TYPE OF INCIDENTS. MY NIECE, WHO LIVES ON A HILL WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME AND I PICKED HER THAT MORNING FROM HER HOUSE. SHE HAD TO RETURNED TO HER HOUSE LATER THAT MORNING FOR AN ITEM SO I DROVE BACK UP THE HILL, WAITED FOR HER IN HER DRIVEWAY, LEFT HER HOUSE AND AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HILL I REALIZED THAT MY BRAKES WAS NOT FUNCTIONING, MY EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT APPEARED AND THEN ALL THE LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD TURNED ON. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WASN'T WORKING AND I COULDN'T STOP THE CAR. I KEPT PRESSING MY BRAKES AND NOTHING WAS HAPPENING. IT JUST KEPT GOING! AT THAT POINT, I LOOKED AROUND TO SEE THE BEST PLACE TO CRASH. I DID FIND OUT THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE SOFTWARE IN THE 2013 AND 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDERS MODEL-YEARS AND THERE WAS A RECALL. CVT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THE SUV HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS FOR EACH ISSUE THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 6 PLUS TIMES AND I JUST PICKED UP THE 2014 PATHFINDER 8-16-2016 AND WAS TOLD AND HAVE IT ON MY INVOICE THAT THE SERVICE TECH DROVE THE SUV AND FEELS THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING OR SKIPPING BUT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO NISSAN POWER TRAIN WARRANTY WILL NOT ALLOW THEM TO REPLACE IT BECAUSE MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT SHOWING A CODE. SO I HAVE A 2014 PATHFINDER THAT IS A COMPLETE SAFETY HAZARD FOR MY FAMILY AND OTHER PEOPLE ON THE ROAD. THE CAR WAS HAVING TRANSMISSION ISSUES BACK BEFORE IT MADE IT TO 30,000 MILES AND NOW AT 55,000 MILES THE SUV IS HAVING MAJOR ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BUT NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX. NISSAN INSTEAD PUTS THIS SUV BACK ON THE ROAD KNOWING IT IS HAVING A SAFETY ISSUE FOR ACCELERATION AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR-BAG AND PUTTING PEOPLE AT RISK. I AM REQUESTING NISSAN TO DO A BUY BACK OF THIS SUV. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT WITH ANOTHER FAULTY TRANSMISSION OR A REBUILT TRANSMISSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY (39, BEACH BLVD IN BUENA PARK, CA.) PROCEEDING STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD THE THIRD ROW LEFT SEAT BELT ANCHOR BECAME UNATTACHED FROM THE SEAT/VEHICLE FRAME WHILE IN USE BY AN ADULT THAT WAS OCCUPYING THE LEFT SIDE OF THE THIRD ROW SEAT. THE ANCHOR OF THE BELT WHERE THE BELT BUCKLE LATCHES INTO CAME COMPLETELY LOOSE FROM THE CAR, ENDANGERING THE ADULT OCCUPANT. THERE DID NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY BREAK BUT LIKELY DEFECT AS THERE WERE NO BROKEN, CRACKED OR DAMAGED PARTS VISIBLY SEEN. NISSAN U.S.A. WAS CONTACTED REGARDING THE SITUATION AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH US DUE TO THE INDIVIDUAL BEING UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE ENOUGH TO COMPREHEND NORMAL AND RELEVANT CONVERSATION AND DETAILS ABOUT THEIR PRODUCT. A CALL BACK TO THE SAME NUMBER PROVIDED BY NISSAN U.S.A. ENCOUNTERED THE SAME DIFFICULTY AND AN OVERALL DISREGARD OF THE PROBLEM. OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP INSTRUCTED US THAT SINCE THERE WAS NO RECALL, WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS OUT OF POCKET. OUR THIRD ROW IS ONLY UTILIZED RARELY WHEN WE HAVE MORE THAN 4 OCCUPANTS, AND HAS ONLY BEEN USED 3 TIMES. NO ABUSE OF THE BUCKLE BY ANY INDIVIDUAL HAS OCCURRED. THE PASSENGER IN THIS CASE COULD HAVE BEEN EJECTED FATALLY IN A COLLISION.

THE COMPUTER IN MY 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER CONTINUED TO PRESENT DIFFICULTIES. THESE MALFUNCTIONS WERE DOCUMENTED WITH NISSAN AND THE COMPUTER WAS IN FACT REPLACED. WE WERE IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH NISSAN TO WARRANTY THE COMPUTER WITH THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. ON APRIL 1, 2016 MY WIFE STARTED THE VEHICLE IN THE DRIVEWAY AND WENT INSIDE TO LET IT WARM UP. WHEN SHE WENT OUT (APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES LATER) THE VEHICLE WAS GONE. IT HAD SLIPPED INTO DRIVE ON ITS OWN AND GONE STRAIGHT DOWN INTO THE WOODS, TAKING OUT TWO TREES AND HITTING A TELEPHONE POLE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. NISSAN'S FINDING WERE THAT THE BLACK BOX WITHIN THE VEHICLE DID NOT SHOW ANYTHING AND, THEREFORE, THEY WERE NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. WE HAVE ALL THE DOCUMENTATION FOR THE DIFFICULTIES WITH THE VEHICLE LEADING UP THE COLLISION.

DRIVING WEST ON HWY 60 FROM NASHVILLE, TN TO BRANSON MO. NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME, JUST OPEN FIELDS ON EACH SIDE. I HEAR WHAT SOUNDS LIKE AN EXPLOSION. I LOOK AROUND AND REALIZE THAT I HEAR WIND AND GLASS ABOVE MY HEAD AS WELL. APPOX. 8 BY 12 INCHES OF GLASS WAS GONE FROM THE CENTER OF MY SUNROOF. LUCKILY, MY VISOR WAS CLOSED OR IT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE WITH GLASS FALLING ON MY HEAD AND FACE. THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE, BUT UPON FURTHER RESEARCH IT SEEMS TO BE A MUCH MORE COMMON OCCURRENCE THAN THAN I WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE. I HAVE HAD THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER ON 4 DIFFERENT TIMES, THEY CLAIM TO HAVE FIXED THE AIRBAG, BUT AFTER THE FIX MY LIGHT CONTINUES TO BE ON INTERMITTENTLY EVEN WHEN AN ADULT IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT NISSAN SAID THE AIRBAG WOULD DEPLOY EVEN THOUGH THE LIGHT WASN'T WORKING. I FEEL THAT NISSAN IS NOT HONORING THEIR WARRANTY, I BOUGHT A NEW CAR AND THE LIGHT ISN'T WORKING AND I CAN'T BE SURE THE AIRBAG IS WORKING EITHER. I HAVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRONIC KEY, I WAS GIVEN A NEW BATTERY IN MY FOB BUT I STILL CONTINUE TO GET A NO KEY DETECTED AT DIFFERENT TIMES EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS RUNNING THE DASH WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN SAY NO KEY DETECTED. MY LAST PROBLEM IS WITH THE CAR ROLLING BACK ON A HILL, I PURCHASED AN AUTOMATIC, WHEN STOPPED ON A HILL I HAVE TO GUN THE ACCELERATOR TO STOP THE CAR FROM ROLLING BACK ON THE CAR BEHIND ME. I WAS INVOLVED IN A ROLL OVER ACCIDENT AND NEITHER THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE SIDE AIRBAGS DID. THE VEHICLE WENT HEAD FIRST INTO THE DITCH AND THEN FLIPPED OVER. THE VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AFTER I FIRST BOUGHT IT AND SUPPOSEDLY "FIXED." OBVIOUSLY NOT. THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY EITHER. MY PATHFINDER IS A TOTAL LOSS. WE HAVE A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER SL, WITH 3551 MILES ON IT. WE PURCHASED IT USED ON 8-6-2014 WITH APPROXIMATELY 2240 MILES ON IT, WE ARE THE SECOND OWNER. ON 8-20-2014, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCESS AN INTERSTATE FROM AN ON-RAMP WE EXPERIENCED A SHUTTER AND STRONG SHAKING OF OUR 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER SL, AT THAT TIME IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 3336 MILES ON IT. WE WERE FORCED TO PULL OVER, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. WE TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT TO CONTINUE ON THE INTERSTATE BUT DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANOTHER INCIDENT THAT DAY. THE FOLLOWING SIX DAYS THE CAR BEGAN DOING THE SAME THING BUT IT WOULD USUALLY BE SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. I DID RESEARCH ON THE TRANSMISSION AND FOUND THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS RIFE WITH PROBLEMS. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP (NOT WHERE WE PURCHASED IT) AND THEY RAN A DYNAMOMETER DIAGNOSTICS ON THE CAR AND SAID THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. AS WE WERE DISCUSSING THIS ISSUE THE TECH MENTIONED THAT THE RECORDS SHOWED THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS CAR HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED ONCE BEFORE, AT APPROXIMATELY 2000 MILES. ALSO, I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP, WHO IS GOING TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, THAT THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET THROUGH TO THE NISSAN "CVT HOTLINE" TO REPORT THE PROBLEM AND ARRANGE FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT WILL BE REPLACED BUT THAT NISSAN IS THE HOLD UP. IT IS EXTREMELY UNFORTUNATE THAT A CAR MANUFACTURING COMPANY CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS AND FORCE CUSTOMER TO WAIT FOR A RESOLUTION WHEN THEY KNOW (AND HAVE KNOWN FOR YEARS) THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM. THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT. I TOOK IT IN ABOUT A WEEK LATER AND THEY STILL COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT. I WAS IN THE AREA OF THE DEALERSHIP WHEN THE ISSUE OCCURRED. I ARRIVED AT DEALERSHIP AND SUPERVISOR WENT FOR A RIDE WITH ME AND WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. IT TOOK THEM ABOUT A WEEK TO GET THE PART AND HAD MY VEHICLE FOR ALMOST A FULL WEEK TO INSTALL TRANSMISSION. ONCE I RECEIVED MY VEHICLE BACK FROM THEM I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH THE CAR NOT STARTING. AFTER ABOUT 5 TRIES, THE VEHICLE WOULD START AND ALL MILEAGE AND FUEL GAUGES WOULD GO BACK TO ZERO. I WAS RECENTLY ABLE TO GET THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY DETERMINED THE BATTERY WAS HALF DEAD. THEY RECHARGED THE BATTERY LAST MONDAY, JUNE 16TH. I HAD NO ISSUES FOR THE FIRST FEW DAYS AND ON THURSDAY, JUNE 19TH, THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. IT TOOK MANY TRIES TO GET IT STARTED. I HAD TO RETURN TO THE DEALER AGAIN TODAY. TL * THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT THE BRAKES SEIZED AND FAILED TO ENGAGE. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONTACT HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE LOOSE FUEL CAP WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER NOR REPAIRED. A) AT 9+ MILES SHIFTER MECHANISM NOT RECOGNIZING I WAS IN DRIVE MODE OR STARTED WITH I-KEY ERROR, GRADUATED TO OBD CODE P0850 OVER THE NEXT FEW MILES. I WAS TOLD THE FOB NEEDED TO BE PROGRAMMED. CRUISE CONTROL NOT WORKING, TURNED OUT THE SHIFTER MECHANISM WAS AT FAULT - DOES NOT RECOGNIZE VEHICLE IS IN DRIVE MORE OR PARKED OR NEUTRAL. B) PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INDICATOR NOT WORKING NOTICED AT APPROX. 120 MILES. WAS INSTRUCTED THE SEAT NEEDED CALIBRATION. SEAT CALIBRATED. C) TOLD THE AIRBAG: WAS TOLD THE ISSUE WAS POSSIBLY THE WEIGHT OF THE PASSENGER, HOW THE PASSENGER SAT IN THE SEAT ETC. LATER TOLD THE DTC CODE NEEDED TO BE CLEARED. 3 HRS LATER WAS TOLD THE AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. D) PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG STILL NOT WORKING AT APPROX. 2500 MILES. INTERMITTENT AFTER THE AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE IS REPLACED. E) AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE REPLACED - AIRBAG INDICATOR STILL NOT WORKING CORRECTLY, NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS TOLD ME THE CAR IS NOT GOING TO BE RECALLED. I SHOULD GET THE VEHICLE FIXED AT A DEALER. STILL NISSAN DOES NOT THINK THERE IS ANY MAJOR ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE AND IT IS NOT A LEMON AND SHOULD NOT BE REPLACED. F) READ ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE RECALL NOTICE ON NHTSA'S WEBSITE. NONE OF THE DOCUMENTS MENTION THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT INDICATOR (AUDIO OR VISUAL INDICATOR). ISSUE IS WHEN THE PASSENGER OCCUPANCY MODULE FAILS, I BELIEVE THE SEAT BELT INDICATOR IS ALSO NOT WORKING CORRECTLY EITHER. I WROTE TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS THEY DO NOT SEEM TO CARE, NHTSA [XXX] INSTRUCTED ME TO FILE A COMPLAINT. I JUST WANT NISSAN TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND FIX THE SEAT BELT ISSUE ALONG WITH THE AIRBAG SO CONSUMERS ARE SAFE. I AM NOT SURE IF THE SHIFTER IS RELATED OR NOT BUT IT IS ODD SEVERAL ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS FAILED. DEALER WANTS TO REPLACE ALL SENSORS, I DO NOT THINK IT WILL FIX IT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 13V445000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER FOR RECALL REPAIRS. BEFORE THE CONTACT COULD HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED AND WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT THEN CRASHED INTO A NEARBY POLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED THE CONSEQUENCE MENTIONED IN THE RECALL PRIOR TO HAVING THE VEHICLE SERVICED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,039.
