My 2018 Nissan Pathfinder started knocking at 75000 miles and it’s getting worse by the day I’ve paid my car payment down to 4000$ and now I’m told my motor is soon to go out.

On May 7th at 1:22 PM, the engine in my 2018 Nissan Pathfinder catastrophically failed for the second time while my family was driving. The engine completely lost power in the middle of a very busy highway intersection, going over an overpass, where there was no shoulder. I had no ability to pull off the road. My wife had to push the disabled vehicle off the highway to avoid causing a major accident. This was an incredibly dangerous situation where my entire family’s life was at risk. My wife could have been struck by oncoming traffic while we were pushing the vehicle to safety. There was no protection or space to safely move out of traffic. This is the second catastrophic engine failure on this vehicle. The first engine failed just over two years prior and was replaced by the dealership. Despite the replacement, the second engine also failed, repeating the same critical failure that Nissan Pathfinders from this model year are widely known to experience. There were no prior warning lamps or engine codes during this incident. The engine immediately lost power and locked up while in motion. This vehicle was properly maintained, and all scheduled services were performed by licensed service providers. I bought a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder august of 2022 from miller and miller Chevrolet in Marianna FL. I noticed the very next day after purchasing the vehicle that there was smoke coming from the tailpipe. This occurred everytime I cracked it. I took videos and pictures and sent it to my sales rep. I took it to them three times trying to get them to figure out the issue and fix it but they were unable to detect any issues. January of 2023 my Engine completely failed I had to have it towed to the dealership. They said that some rode camshaft broke. The mechanic told me that the engine was full of metal shavings. So they replaced the entire with a used low mileage engine that failed the day I picked it up 3/20/23 . I'm told that a used engine is what they are putting in it again that they (the warranty company Zurich) will not put a new one in it. I am a bartender and got to talking about this with a regular and it so happens that his wife has the same 2018 Nissan Pathfinder and he said the had the exact same problem. Their engine failed at 57,000 miles. He had to pay $15000 to put a new engine in it. I really feel like this is a manufacturing defect and should be recalled and made right. Thank you. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, A RATTLING, METAL TO METAL NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LIA NISSAN OF GLENS FALLS (518-636-1098, LOCATED AT 373 DIX AVENUE, QUEENSBURY, NY 12804) WHERE THE FAILURE WAS DUPLICATED DURING A TEST DRIVE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE NOISE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE NOISE WAS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000.

The stop lamp switch has become contaminated with silicon off-gassing from silicon-based grease used in surrounding components in close proximity. This is causing the car to not start, not able to switch gears, and break light is not turning on.

TEN MINUTES AFTER LEAVING DEALERSHIP ABS WARNING LIGHTS STARTED COMING ON AGAIN AND CONTINUE TO COME ON, NOT EVERY TRIP, BUT SEVERAL TIMES PER WEEK. I KEEP GETTING A WARNING FLASHES ON THE DASHBOARD TO INDICATE THE PROBLEM: 'FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION.' THE SENSOR FREQUENTLY DEACTIVATE ITSELF, DISABLING CRUISE CONTROL AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM. THE SYMBOL LOOKS LIKE A CRASH IS GOING TO HAPPEN. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE IN MOTION AND NO OTHER CARS ARE AROUND, AND WHILE OTHER CARS ARE AROUND AND ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS.

FAULTY RADAR ON MY NISSAN PATHFINDER IS COMPROMISING MY EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM. IT FREQUENTLY DEACTIVATES ITSELF THEREBY DISABLING MY CRUISE CONTROL AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM. A WARNING FLASHES ON THE DASHBOARD TO INDICATE THE PROBLEM: FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE. IN MY VIEW THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM IS UNRELIABLE. A RECALL AND A FIX SHOULD BE ORDERED.

The 4x4 never stays engaged. We live in an area where it snows A LOT and depend on the 4x4 for winter driving. We purchased the vehicle brand new and it had this issue. We reported it to the dealership when the vehicle had less than 500 miles on it, within the first few weeks of ownership. They couldn't figure out what was wrong. They sent someone from corporate to look at the vehicle. They found and replaced a cracked coupler. (Our vehicle was sold to us with a MAJOR broken part.) The 4x4 still wouldn't remain engaged. I kept taking it back to the dealership every few months. Nothing. Finally they sent a corporate mechanic out to look at the vehicle. He told me the 4x4 will never stay engaged because 'the drive train is set up to protect itself and the 4x4 is only to get out of a jam", and then told me it is not to be used for driving in snow. I asked why they sold these vehicles as safe for snow. He told me they don't anymore because they have realized they are not safe. So now I am stuck with a vehicle that isn't safe to drive. We purchsed a Tesla that day, January 28, 2022 and while waiting for it to arrive the transmission now went out on the vehicle. Nissan refuses to fix it claiming we are over the warranty miles. So not only is this vehicle not safe for snow and chain control (according to their mechanic) it can't be fixed. Is the NHTSB aware that Nissan Corporate Mechanics are telling people their 4x4 vehicles are not true 4x4 vehicle even though they were sold that way? In the past 4 years I have slid into snowbanks numerous times at low (under 25mph) speeds because the 4x4 does not remain engaged. Many times my children are in the vehicle. There have also been numerous times when I have slid due to the 4x4 not staying engaged where I have almost hit others. I have put my life and others lives in danger thinking my 'Auto' was making sure my vehicle was in 4x4, even though the mechanics assure me it wasn't and I was actually in 2-wheel drive.

THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE SLIPPING. AT LOW RPMS THERE IS A NOTICEABLE METALLIC SOUND AND LOSS OF POWER, ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING LEFT OR RIGHT TURNS. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AT LEAST THREE TIMES WITHOUT THEM FINDING A SOLUTION OR BEING ABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE. INSTEAD I'M BEING TOLD THAT THE HEAT SHIELD IS THE ISSUE AND THAT IT HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OFF EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS.

WHEN DRIVING AT DIFFERING SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION REDUCES, THEN STOPS APPLYING POWER TO THE WHEELS, AND ACTS AS THOUGH IT'S IN NEUTRAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT FREEWAY SPEEDS, DOWN TO BELOW 20 MPH, AND A ALL OPERATING TEMPERATURES. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS NOT TOUCHED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE GAS PEDAL, AND THE VEHICLE WAS ALWAYS IN DRIVE. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED TO US A MINIMUM OF 6 TIMES, WITH NO RESOLUTION FROM NISSAN.

I HAVE A 2019 PATHFINDER. NISSAN HAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE AEB SYSTEM. I GET A MESSAGE CONSTANTLY THAT THE FRONT RADAR IS UNAVAIABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION. IF THE FRONT OBSTRUCTION ISN'T WORKING AND THE AEB IS DISABLED, THIS IS A SAFELY ITEM. WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN ANY RECALLS?

FOUR SEPARATE TIMES AS I WAS DRIVING A WARNING APPEARED THAT SAID " FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION". I AM UNDER WARRANTY, TOOK TO COGGIN NISSAN @ THE AVENUES JACKSONVILLE FL. THEY ARE AWARE OF FAULTY SENSOR PROBLEMS BUT REFUSED TO FIX THE ISSUE STATING THAT THEY DID NOT SEE THE WARNING WHEN THEY DROVE IT AND THEIR ANTIQUATED COMPUTER CHECKER COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR 5 HOURS AND DID NOT REPLACE THE FAULTY SENSOR THAT NISSAN CORP IS TOTALLY AWARE OF. THIS DEALER SAID THEY WON'T GET REINBURSED FROM NISSAN FOR THE PART UNLESS I CAN PROVE THAT I AM RECEIVING THESE MESSAGES. THAT IS THEIR WAY OUT OF HAVING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR NOW AND ONLY HAVE 15,930 MILES ON IT ! MANY NISSAN MODELS HAVE THIS FAULTY SENSOR. THEY ALSO DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM WITH THE RADIO/NAVIGATION SCREEN FREEZING AND TURNING ALL BLACK. SAME EXCUSE THAT THEIR COMPUTER CHECKER CAN'T "DUPLICATE" THE PROBLEM. THERE IS A DEFINITE ISSUE AS I HAVE DISCOVERED AFTER RESEARCHING NISSAN ISSUES, THE SENSOR IS RANDOMLY DEACTIVATING ITSELF AND NISSAN IS AWARE IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE THIRD PARTY COMPONENT FROM BOSCH, BUT WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL.

I PURCHASED MY 2018 PATHFINDER IN MARCH 2018 AND BEFORE I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT THE MIL LIGHT CAME ON. THEY TOOK IT TO THE SERVICE DEPT, SAID THEY FIXED IT. I DROVE IT HOME AND ON THE WAY HOME YOU COULD FEEL THE CAR STUTTER AND WHEN OUTSIDE OF THE CAR YOU COULD HEAR THE ENGINE MISFIRE. THE AEB LIGHT, SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT AND MIL CAME ON. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY NEVER COULD FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX IT. THEY ENDED UP FINDING ANOTHER CAR LIKE MINE AND I TRADED VEHICLES. NOW OVER A YEAR LATER THE AEB LIGHT AND SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT HAVE COME ON A COUPLE TIMES. WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A SENSOR THAT WAS RECALLED. THEY FIXED THAT. NOW THE AEB LIGHT AND SLIP INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON AGAIN. CALLED TO GET A SERVICE APPT - DAYS LATER THE MIL LIGHT CAME ON. IT IS CURRENTLY IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP. I DO NOT FEEL LIKE THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE HAPPENING ALREADY. THE CAR IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD. HAVING THE SAME LIGHTS AND PROBLEMS WITH 2 CARS THAT ARE IDENTICAL IS SCARY. THERE IS A PROBLEM - IT WAS NOT A FLUKE. EVERYTIME THE INDICATOR LIGHTS COME ON I AM DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. YOU CAN FEEL THE CAR STUTTER AND YOU KNOW THE LIGHTS ARE GOING TO COME ON. THEN THE CAR JERKS A LITTLE AND THE LIGHTS COME ON. AFTERWARDS YOU CAN FEEL THE CAR STRUGGLE AT TIMES - LIKE IT ISN'T GETTING ENOUGH GAS. ALTHOUGH NOW THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON THE CAR IS MISFIRING - YOU CAN HEAR IT WHEN IT IS IDLING IN THE DRIVEWAY.

I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND MY AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. I WAS STOPPED ON THE INTERSTATE AND HIT IN THE REAR AT A HIGH SPEED. THEN MY SUV HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. IT CAUSED CLOSE TO $9000 IN DAMAGE.

METAL RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE CAR WHEN ACCELERATING AROUND 1,500RPM-2,000 RPM. I WENT TO TWO NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN TOTAL THREE TIMES BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT SOLVED. THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO WHICH IS RIDICULOUS. I HEARD FROM ONE PERSON WHO WAS IN THE STORE WITH ME THAT HIS 2018 PATHFINDER WAS RECALLED FOR THE RATTLING NOISE. HIS CAR WAS AN AWD SO IT MAY BE DIFFERENT, BUT I THINK IT MAY HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON. THE DEALER JUST CHECKED MY VIN NUMBER AND AS THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR IT THEY WOULD NOT CHECK IT ANY FURTHER. REALLY WORRIED SINCE THE NOICE IS CONTINUING FOR OVER 3 MONTHS NOW.

While driving the airbag passenger light went on then off then the red airbag light on the dashboard started flashing and continues to flash.

Driver and passenger airbags deployed without cause while driving on busy expressway. No lights, warnings, sounds or crash in any way caused deployment. Broke windshield and car has been inoperative since. Insurance can't help and Nissan is being difficult trying to put blame on us. Insurance and State Police put in reports that it is a manufacturer malfunction and we are not responsible. Nissan will look at but is stalling and not giving clear timetables. Won't help with towing or rental.

Our vehicle has 22,000 miles and the air bag sensor on the front passenger side has malfunctioned. The passenger air bag light stays on and flashes on the dash board. After being diagnosed at a local car shop they advised the vehicle would be unsafe for a passenger to sit on that side and even with weight distributed on the seat, light stays on indicating the no airbag. As the vehicle does not have much mileage this has become a huge safety concern for myself and family. We would like to acknowledge that this is a defect of the vehicle and hope for a proposed recall for safety.

I was driving along at 35-40 mph and the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating when I gave it gas. Nearly empty at the time so I thought maybe it was a gas issue. I drove it a couple of days after that and it drove just fine. I filled her up with premium gas, thinking that it would fix the problem. The third time I went to drive it was last Friday, [XXX] It would barely accelerate. it took about maybe a quarter to 1/3 of a mile for it to get up to 40 mph, during which time I have my foot smashed on the gas pedal all the way down to the floor. I went to pick up my dogs, pet food, which was 5 miles away. I made it there. I was not sure that I would make it back. I live in Colorado Springs, which is a city full of very much traffic, and I was afraid that my vehicle was going to stop in the middle of the road and I was going to get creamed by an oncoming car. I just purchased this vehicle back in October. I have barely driven it myself, as I don’t go out that often. The main reason for this vehicle is my profoundly disabled child to her doctors appointments and back. Now if we stop in the middle of the road and my daughter is killed by an oncoming car because this car just stops working… what a tragedy that would be. I went online and looked up this issue on Reddit and other forums. I found a post all the way back to 2013 from a gentleman who had the same exact issue. Now I’m not sure why. In 10 years you guys have not insured that Nissan fixes this issue but I find this to be pathetic. A six-year-old car should not be doing this. Now I am paying $380 a month and have a $20,000 loan on a vehicle that I cannot even drive, for fear that I will die in it. Somebody needs to figure this out, and Nissan needs to stop producing garbage vehicles that put peoples lives at risk. You guys need to ensure this gets done, that’s part of your job. 100% certain that I am not the first person that has submitted a complaint about this to you guys. THE CRUISE CONTROL IS VERY SLUGGISH. ONCE THE CRUISE CONTROL IS SET, IF YOU ARE TO STEP ON THE GAS TO GET AROUND A CAR QUICKER OR IF YOU PRESS THE CANCEL BUTTON, STEP ON THE GAS AND THEN RESUME, YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS AND LET YOUR SPEED SLOW DOWN 5 - 10 MPH UNDER WHAT YOU HAVE THE CRUISE SET FOR BEFORE IT WILL ENGAGE AGAIN. I HAVE BEEN ALMOST REAR-ENDED A FEW TIMES WHILE GETTING THE CRUISE TO ENGAGE AGAIN. NISSAN STATES THAT THAT IS THEY WAY THE CRUISE CONTROL IS DESIGNED. The Nissan DCU/Infotainment center/Radio no longer has a working display in my 2018 Nissan pathfinder (R52 model). I haven't replaced this unit and it is still not operation in the vehicle. This display is necessary for the use of the back up camera and its failure could result in damage to the vehicle, person or property. While I have not taken this to the dealer at this time, numerous others (online posts) have experienced this issue and have brought it to the dealer. The dealers response is to replace the DCU. The stereo initially started looping, now there is no display. When placing the vehicle in reverse, you may get camera from anywhere between 2-10 seconds. There were no warning lights or indicators prior to the failure.

ABS Light comes on and stays on...Checking for recalls seeing if our vehicle could have same problem with brake fluid leaking on internal circuit board and possible fire danger. Also, several times our PATHFINDER will lose power or act as if you have shifted the transmission into neutral. This has happened at speeds from 30mph to 60 mph. Stalls and then after a few seconds it will resume speed.

ARTICLE FOUND STATING NISSAN WAS WORKING ON A FIX, IS IT AVAILABLE YET? 2 DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENTS AND AN AGENT AT NISSAN USA KNEW NOTHING ABOUT IT. WE HAVE HAD OUR CAR INTO THE DEALER 9 TIMES SINCE JUNE 2018. THEY HAVE BEEN REPLACING THE CRUISE CONTROL SENSORS AND THE CAR STARTED PULLING TO THE RIGHT VERY HARD. WE HAVE WORKED THRU THE DEALER, THE CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS, CONTACTED THE BBB AUTO AND HAVE AN OPEN ACCOUNT THERE. WE GOT OUR CAR BACK YESTERDAY AND TOOK IT FOR A LONG RIDE ON HIGHWAY 95 NORTH THIS AFTERNOON AND FOR 100 MILES THE CAR KEPT PULLING TO THE RIGHT AND THEN TO THE LEFT AND CONTINUED FOR EVERY MILE. WE TURNED OFF ONTO A 3 LANE ROAD AND WERE GOING SLOWER AND IT WENT ACROSS ALL THREE LANES EACH WAY, LEFT AND RIGHT. I TOOK VIDEO WHILE MY HUSBAND DROVE. IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. The Display Control Unit (DCU) went blank on my 2018 Nissan Pathfinder. No working display causing steering wheel controls not to work. This includes being unable to use any hands-free phone calls. This is a significant safety issue. Nissan has a voluntary recall for this problem on the 2018 and 2019 Pathfinder, but for whatever reason my VIN Is not included. Multiple attempts to have Nissan fix and they refuse. I can’t tell you how unsafe it makes traveling with no working display and no hands-free phone capabilities. Requesting your assistance to require Nissan to recall this problem on the 2018 Pathfinder.

The forward collision warning and traction control light is stuck on both together. Today is the 1st time it has come on, but when doing research I seen that people have had this issue before and that there was a recall for maxima’s and Murano’s, but nothing that has been seen for the pathfinder.

This vehicle had a recall repair related to Antilock/traction control/electronic limited slip system in March 2021. The Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) System Warning Light and the Slip Indicator Light would come on intermittently. Ten minutes after that repair the lights came on again, and about two times in subsequent days, but not again. In the last weeks these lights have been coming on again, but more problems have been associated such as the start button will not work and these lights come on. Sometimes, when it will start, these lights come on but the car gearshift will not move out of the Park position. Or, maybe if you use remote start when you get in and push the brake pedal and the start button the car shuts off. This leaves the vehicle immobile and can leave one stranded if in a remote area. Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting does usually allow you to start it, but you cannot put the vehicle in park or you will not be able to get it out of park to drive it. Again, this is associated with the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) System Warning Light and the Slip Indicator Light coming on. And we have put new batteries in the key fobs, so that is not an issue.

The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. The failure persisted, and there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine with the check engine warning light illuminated. In addition, the vehicle hesitated while starting the vehicle and pressing the Push to Start button. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where a diagnostic test was performed, and the contact was informed that there was sludge in the engine oil. The mechanic stated that sludge was found in the oil due to a lack of regular oil changes. The contact disputed the claim and provided receipts that all oil changes were up to date. The contact had the engine taken apart by the dealer and an independent mechanic, and both discovered metal shavings inside the engine, which had resulted in the engine failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was repaired by the independent mechanic. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.

My Nuna rava was part of the recent recall that happened. The company offered remedy kits to replace the seat fabrics as well as tools to clean where the harness straps tightened/loosened. We received the remedy kit in March after waiting 3 months for the kits to be available. I followed the instructions for cleaning of the car seat and installation of the new cover. My child’s safety was put at risk as the straps are now able to loosen without pressing the button. We had not had strap loosening issues initially, but now are despite having followed the instructions as part of the recall which I was told would resolved the issue and prevent further concern over the strap mechanism failing. To my knowledge this is a known issue that is what caused the recall for the car seat in the first place. I have removed the car seat from use as it is no longer safe with the straps loosening. I have contacted Nuna Baby customer support.

The disabled vehicle when delivered by flatbed car hauler unit to the nearest dealership, Petro Nissan, 47 miles from the breakdown site would not move at highway speed but only jerked/bucked and crept along at little more than a fast walk. This condition was last experienced when the vehicle had been on a remote undulating interstate for about 2 hours. The check engine light had reappeared after being recently reset and the engine revving and loss of ground speed started causally then increased in frequency and intensity until totally failing to the point of forcing me to creep with emergency flashers in mode on the shoulder to reach an exit two miles ahead. The high RPM revving coupled with the ground speed loss condition initial stages occurred each of the two prior days. Two Nissan NA dealerships in those two days had performed diagnostics and service. On each prior day the check engine light, the high revving engine RPM, and the ground speed loss occurred. On each day a potentially serious safety issue arose. Initially an attempt to match speed and merge with traffic at an onramp and again when (using cruise control) during which the vehicle system attempted an automatic acceleration to maintain speed on rolling hills. Both conditions forced me to the shoulder to avoid a potential accident from immediate and drastic ground speed loss and engine revving at or above 4500 RPM After each of these incidents a Nissan NA dealership was consulted and services were performed. In each case I postulated to the service advisors that the transmission sounded/felt like it was slipping on acceleration when the vehicle/ transmission had heated up from extended driving. Both days service advisors checked for diagnostic codes of transmission issues but never mentioned emission issues aside from mass air flow sensor or ABS sensors apparently either not seeing or not looking beyond transmission related codes. The engine began to fail because of a lack of adequate breathability into the crankcase, causing high crankcase pressure, excessive oil blowby, severe exhaust smoke, severe engine sludge, severe engine shuddering, and lack of response to the power steering because of engine power loss. The failure of the PCV system was at fault. Produced codes P0300, P0306, and P0430. Engine sludge needed to be cleaned, PCV hoses and PCV needed to be replaced, spark plugs needed to be replaced because of blowby, and valve covers also needed to be replaced because of sludge clogging the PCV baffles within the valve covers.

The Infotainment System screen is black and doesn't work. This poses a safety hazard as the navigation is inoperable; handsfree calls cannot be made while driving, which is required by law, since bluetooth is inoperable; and the back-up camera works intermittently and a person or another car could be hit while I'm backing up the vehicle.. The problem appeared quickly without warning in late January/early February 2023. I immediately took the SUV to the dealership on February 3, 2023 where it was confirmed that the Infotainment System does not work and the service manager advised that it cannot be fixed.

As we were driving on the highway about 70 miles per hour, no traffic relatively, the vehicle started to violently shake and then we heard a loud explosion in the front end, prompting the front drive and passenger airbags to deploy, as well as the full right side curtain airbags. This curtain airbag struck my wife in the head and prompted her apple watch to call 911. we initally thought we popped a tire or ran over something but no damaged at all visible to the car. even the state trooper was baffled by the situation as emergency personnel arrived. the car was not driven home so when the tow facility assessed the vehicle even he was baffled and assumed perhaps the explosion happened in the front end inside the cvt transmission. the officer on site stated this couldve ended horribly with us going the normal speed on the highway but somehow we were guided safely to the side of the road.

The entire braking system failed without warning! My 25 year old daughter was coming up to a busy intersection that usually has semi-trucks and when she went to break the breaks failed and the pedal went to the floor. I found out that there was a recall on the Nissan Pathfinder emergency breaking system and asked Nissan as was directed on their website to immediatly tow the car to the nearest Nissan dealership to get repaired. They refused! I was on the phone with them for 5 hours telling them that they had to come get their car the ABS light had been on and the car was a risk to our family, home and community as we lived on a main street. They refused. My husband got the car to Nissan. I have since have talked to Nissan and Nissan dealership for over 12 hours. This car also has a major transmission defect that Nissan dealership denies. They said the car is find even though I told them that my husband and I both notice the car slipping. We have 10 children, 8 that still living with us including 2 disabled children. We have asked Nissan to buy back this recalled, defective car and I was told to come pick it up at the dealership tomorrow and turn back in the rental car that they fixed it as much as they would. They did nothing to the transmission, and the Transmission has extended warranty. They know it has a defective part on it and have refused to fix it and said it was fine, even though they know the car could just shut down and shake violently when I am on the way to take my daughter to Boston from Ohio for her healthcare conditions. Upon getting my car to the shop the dealership stated the Calibers were bad, the rotors were bad, the front break pads were pad, and this was all on top of the recall on this car. Nissan needs to buy back there defective car immediately and Hertz should never have sold us this car with these know defects. Nissan informed us that Hertz car sales knew about the defects before selling us this car. Please Help us with inspection!

REAR LIFT GATE DOOR JAMS AND THE MOTORIZED FUNCTION WILL NOT OPEN OR CLOSE THE DOOR. THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED WITH THE KEY OR THE SWITCH ON THE DASHBOARD. THE ONLY WAY TO OPERATE IT IS BY MANUAL FORCEFULLY OPENING OR CLOSING AGAINST THE LIFT ARMS. THE MECHANISM WAS REPLACED BECAUSE IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, IT STARTED DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE SUN ROOF EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING. THE EXPLOSION MADE AN ABNORMAL BANGING SOUND SIMILAR TO GUN FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT CALLED KELLY NISSAN OF WOBURN (95 CEDAR ST, WOBURN, MA 01801, (781) 835-3500) TO INFORM THEM OF THE FAILURE, BUT AN APPOINTMENT WAS NOT SCHEDULED BECAUSE THE DEALER WAS CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.

THIS ISSUE WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN ON 11/5/2018 HOWEVER IS PENDING A RESOLUTION. THIS ISSUE HAS EXISTED SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW ON 10/25/18.

THE LARGE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR, COMBINED WITH THE LOW SEAT CAUSES A LARGE BLIND SPOT. ANY VEHICLES OR PEDESTRIAN ON THE DRIVERS LEFT SIDE ARE DIFFICULT BE SEE. I AM UPLOADING A PICTURE OF THE VIEW I HAVE WHILE SITTING IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. IN THE PICTURE WHERE THE RED ARROW IS POINTING THERE IS ACTUALLY A STREET COMING OUT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. AS YOU CAN SEE THE DRIVER CANNOT POSSIBLY HAVE A CLEAR VIEW OF TRAFFIC OR PEDESTRIANS COMING FROM THAT STREET ON THE LEFT SIDE.

MY HUSBAND ROGER AND I PURCHASED A 2018 NISSAN PATHFINDER LESS THAN A WEEK AGO AT GRANITE NISSAN IN RAPID CITY, SD. WE DROVE TO DICKINSON, ND TO DROP OFF MY STEPSON TO SEE HIS MOTHER AS REQUIRED BY COURT ORDER EVERY MONTH. THE TRIP THERE HAS NO CELLULAR SERVICE AND TEMPERATURES THAT REACH SUBZERO. UPON ARRIVING IN DICKINSON, WE HAD THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH AND THE RPMS BECAME ERRATIC. WE ALSO NOTICED DECREASED FUEL EFFICIENCY. THE LIGHT CAME ON WITH LESS THAN 400 TOTAL MILES ON THE VEHICLE. WE CONSULTED THE USER MANUAL WHICH ADVISED TO DRIVE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINING ON. UNFORTUNATELY, WHEN WE RECEIVED THE NOTIFICATION OF READY FOR PICK UP, THERE WAS NO RESOLVE. THE SERVICEMAN CLAIMED THAT IT WAS AN ISSUE 'CURRENTLY BEING INVESTIGATED BY NISSAN'. HE SAID THEY CLEARED THE ERROR AND THAT WE WILL NOTICE LESS EFFICIENCY WITH GAS MILEAGE AND STATED THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T BREAKDOWN BUT WAS UNSURE OF WHAT MAY HAPPEN. WE PURCHASED THIS BRAND NEW VEHICLE TO BETTER ENSURE A SAFE MEANS TO DRIVE IN DESOLATE AREAS AND IN EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS WHILE MONTHLY TRANPORTING OUR SON FOR VISITATION. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN WAS DISMISSIVE/BELITTLED OUR CONCERNS WHEN ASKING ABOUT SAFETY, ESPECIALLY WITH THE SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES AND THAT WE HAVE A ONE YEAR OLD AND SIX YEAR OLD WHO RIDE DAILY IN THE CAR IN ADDITION TO OUR 14 YEAR OLD WHO TAKES THE MONTHLY TRIPS TO ND. WE ARE WAITING FOR NISSAN TO REPLY WITH WHEN AND HOW THE ERROR CODE P34A9, INTAKE TIMING CONTROL WILL BE FIXED AND IF DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE OR OTHER PARTS OF THE VEHICLE WHILE THIS ERROR OCCURS. IF WE ARE STRANDED IN DESOLATE ND IN EXTREME TEMPERATURES, OUR LIVES WILL BE AT RISK AS EVEN IF THE 'SOS' FEATURE WERE TO BE PRESSED, THE NEAREST EMERGENCY RESPONDERS ARE HOURS AWAY. WE'VE INQUIRED WITH NISSAN ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS 2018 PATHFINDER.
