The contact owns a 2025 Mazda CX-70. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds with the Lane Keep Assist feature deactivated, the steering wheel jerked to the left. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, and the failure was being investigated. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

I have put on over 20,000 miles since I purchased new in September 2024. The entire time of ownership, I have dealt with false blind spot warnings. With a clean car/clean sensors, it doesn't matter the time of day/night... when driving at highway speeds, the right rear blind spot warning comes on intermittently even when driving in the right lane of interstate with only the shoulder of the interstate next to me and no other obstructions. When this happens while in the passing lane and believing there is nobody next to me and I put on the blinker and try to switch lanes.... it alarms me saying there is something in my blindspot. These are false readings, that make this "safety feature" a safety concern. Sometimes, the car even tries to pull me back in my current lane even though there is nothing in sight in the lane I'm trying to switch to. The I have had the car to the dealership approximately 4 times for this ongoing issue and they claim they are unable to replicate the problem. I have read numerous other complaints reporting the same issue, and Mazda has not developed a fix to date.

The contact owns a 2025 Mazda CX-70. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the blind spot monitor beeped and lit up on the mirror. The contact stated that there was no other vehicle nearby. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. In addition, the contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with failed blind spot monitor sensors. The contact was informed that the blind spot monitor sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, failure reoccurred. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the blind spot monitor beeped and lit up on the mirror. The contact stated that there was no other vehicle nearby. The blind spot monitor independently activated the service brakes. The contact stated that the blind spot monitor steered the vehicle in the opposite direction. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a blind spot monitor issue. The contact was informed that the manufacturer was currently working on a software update to fix the failure. In addition, the contact was informed that the failure was not a safety concern. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 2,500.

While attempting to change lanes on I-75 southbound, one lane to the left of my current position, I was enforced and the steering wheel pulled back to the right. I was navigating a right-hand curve on the interstate and moving past slower traffic at 81 mph. My turn signal was activated, the lane departure system deactivated, and the signal was still flashing as the lane change was executed. The turn signal should suspend enforcement as well as the system being deactivated. Both interlocks failed to operate. No other vehicles in the area would've contributed to this event. The lane departure "off" warning light was on the dash, indicating that the system was not operational. I was not firmly holding the wheel and allowing it to glide effortlessly through the lane change to execute my plan when it jerked back to the right.

Blind spot monitoring at highway speeds randomly triggers when nothing is there. Due to this, car fights lane changes due to collision avoidance system if you try to change lanes when it thinks something is there when it’s not.

My cx 70 has extreme brake squealing. This began early on after I purchased this vehicle new from the dealership. I have brought this car to the Mazda dealership that I bought it from three times for this issue.

Vehicle has been squealing countlessly when braking about 1 to 2 days after leaving the dealership in September 2024 up until current. The vehicle has been out of commission for more than 15 days while attempts to repair the issue at local Mazda dealerships. On the last attempt to correct the issue, Ferman Mazda dealership in Brandon FL performed some sort of shaving of brake component to ensure this would not continue; however, the noise continues and this also may increase the safety risk now.

The contact owns a 2025 Mazda CX-70. The contact stated while parking the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed, however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The contact stated that while the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle jerked forward and hit a huge rock before crashing into two trees. The contact stated that she may have nudged the cruise control switch, however her foot was still on the brake pedal. The contact lost control of the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure occurred in the Mountain America Credit Union parking lot. In addition, the contact stated that the air bags deployed and there was a lot of smoke in the interior of the vehicle. The fire department and the Police arrived on the scene. The vehicle was towed to a local lot. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic for repairs. A Police report was filed. The contact was transported to the local hospital for treatment. The contact sustained a head injury, an injury to the left wrist, multiple contusions cuts, and bruises to both legs. The contact stated that she thinks the injuries to both of her legs were caused by the deployment of the air bags. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 100.

Lane assist system acts on it's own and attempts to override my input. It can be very jarring especially at high speeds. I notice the issue mostly when I'm on the highway/freeway and attempting to lane change or take an exit ramp. The system trys to correct my steering and I have to briefly fight against it to maintain control.

I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned Mazda CX-70 that exhibits intermittent and unpredictable steering behavior, creating a significant safety concern. The steering will intermittently stiffen and then pull the vehicle left or right without driver input, at times toward oncoming traffic or the breakdown lane, requiring immediate correction. On straight roads, the vehicle does not consistently track and will drift unpredictably. When driving over minor road variations (such as small bumps or frost heaves), the steering wheel may jerk suddenly in the opposite direction. The vehicle also intermittently behaves as though lane-keeping assistance is active—auto-correcting relative to lane lines—despite all lane assist features being turned off. In multiple instances, the vehicle has tracked erratically along lane lines or navigated slight curves without driver input. The issue occurs unpredictably but is more pronounced on rural or uneven roads and during initial driving, though it can persist on highways as well. The issue caused several near miss accidents-twice it sent my vehicle careening into oncoming traffic; another time it tried to drive me back toward a pedestrian I was driving around intentionally. Driver has to be at constant heightened attention to avoid accident. Multiple repair attempts were made, including replacement of the steering column. The condition temporarily improved but returned and worsened. During the final repair attempt, dealership foreman, master technicians, and manufacturer technical support were involved, and the condition was ultimately deemed a “characteristic” with no repair available. The vehicle remains unrepaired and unsafe to operate. The dealer is refusing to supply the customer with any details of the repair order and diagnostic work that was done. The manufacturer has agreed to repurchase the vehicle under lemon law, confirming the defect could not be resolved.

While traveling eastbound on GA-20, I signaled to change lanes with my hands in the 9 and 3 position. I don't hold the wheel in a death grip like some people do, as I am confident with my vehicle and my skills. As I am changing lanes at 62 mph the car jerked the wheel to the right while flashing a warning that I need to hold the wheel. This has happened multiple times even though I am in complete control of the vehicle and very comfortable with my hand position. The car should NEVER jerk the wheel like that unexpectedly. I have lane departure turned off for this reason.

The vehicle has engaged the automatic braking feature multiple times while in a parking garage and when in the middle of a four-way stop despite there being no cross traffic or moving vehicles around my vehicle. In two instances, there was a vehicle behind mine that the breaking could have led to me being rear-ended and in the case of the four-way stop, there were other vehicles waiting to cross that could have hit me from behind or on the side. The vehicle was taken to the local Mazda dealership who had the vehicle for approximately 3 weeks trying to identify a fix and was subsequently told to pick up the vehicle without a fix being performed. I was informed after that time that Mazda was aware of this being an issue for multiple owners but did not have a solution to resolve it. I was told to wait to be contracted at some point in the future about an identified repair or recall. This is a serious safety issue that could lead to a collision and Mazda has stated that they do not have a solution to the problem.

I was operating the motor vehicle at roughly 60 mph on a two-lane divided highway around 830AM. I was driving toward the sunrise to the east and passed under a highway overpass. As I cleared the overpass from the shade back into the sun, the vehicle flashed a collision warning on the windshield and immediately applied aggressive braking for no reason. No other cars were in the area around me at the time of the incident. Had someone been following me too closely, this would have likely resulted in a rear-end collision. Safety system malfunctions are frequent and unexpected. It is always something, and this isn't the only time it has happened. It has simply annoyed me enough to cause me to submit a report.

The contact owns a 2025 Mazda CX-70. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in a recall for the hybrid system software update and was taken to the dealer, where the update was completed. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and coming to a stop, the vehicle lost motive power and turned off. The contact shifted to park(P) and attempted to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was able to restart after several attempts in approximately 15 minutes or more. The contact stated that one morning, the vehicle hesitated to start; however, after several attempts, the vehicle restarted. The contact stated that the vehicle had failed to restart after being driven and parked at the place of employment. The vehicle remained in the parking lot. The dealer was informed of the failure but had not diagnosed or repaired the vehicle. The contact was in the process of filing a Lemon Law claim. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

After fuel gage recall completed, vehicle still doesn’t read fuel level correctly. Sometimes doesn’t show fuel level at all, sometimes, after refueling to a full tank, computer only shows 250 miles of range.

My auto flashed an Engine Malfunction error then lost power. I had to pull over immediately. Would not restart. Unsafe road with no shoulder in a no passing two lane road. Towed to dealer. They told me gas tank sensors failed. Resolution is a new gas tank. This could have been much worse had there been a car behind me, had children in car, been on a highway etc. The auto did not show any signs of issue until the warning light that appeared as the auto lost power. The auto is at the dealership where it will remain until new part comes in. I was told there has been an influx of this part being requested and it could be 2 months before one is available. Very dangerous. Mazda road side assistance sent tow truck.all communication with dealer has been via phone except for text letting me know the auto arrived there.

After starting the vehicle and driving it for a short distance, I forgot to disable the engine start/stop function. When the engine shut down, I pressed the button to disable it as I loathe this feature. The button would not respond, resulting in the engine repeatedly shutting down during coasting events and limiting the functionality of my AC. I tried multiple times during my 45-minute drive to disable it, but was unable to. I shut the vehicle off and restarted it when I was safely stopped. The system worked as intended after this action. I have never had a car with so many technology bugs and electronic safety system issues as this one.

This has been happening for over 6 months but it's getting worse. When moving at a lower speed, 10-20 mph, the motor or transmission is jerky and sluggish. This makes it very slow to move when pulling out from red lights or when in stop and go traffic on the highway. (Might as well be pulling out from the light in an 18 Wheeler.) I haven't taken to the dealer because from my experience, unless there is a code to look up, it's just money (and time) wasted. No, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. No warning or messages have been displayed, no other symptoms to report. One more thing, after driving for hours and getting back to the office. With the vehicle in Park, the rear passenger removes their seat belt and the driver removes their seat belt, the seat belt warning message displays. Now I could understand this if the vehicle was placed in Drive or reverse, but in Park? Really? Also note, in the mornings, the vehicle can sit and idle for over an hour and if the rear passenger doesn't have their seat on and you put it into Drive nothing happens, no messages or warnings at all. What if you had a kid in the back seat or something? Make it make sense.

On multiple occasions I have had driver assistance system failures with the most recent occurring this past Saturday 8/2/25, which I have on dashcam. In this incident, I had adaptive cruise control set to short following distance. I had about 5 or 6 car lengths in front of me at highway speed and the lead car was far enough ahead that the car was not showing it on the interactive display. Another car changed lanes from the right to left in front of me right behind the lead vehicle. The car that changed lanes was not detected by the vehicle even though it was right in front of me. I was approaching the vehicle at a higher rate of speed and the car never attempted to slow eventually requiring me to depress the brake to cancel the cruise as the car was not responding to the fact that I was now right behind the car and had to brake to avoid a collision. On a separate incident a month or so ago, I was entering a center turn lane, waiting to turn into a gas station which required crossing of 2 lanes of traffic in the opposite direction. As I was entering the center lane with my signal on, the car detected the opposing traffic and slammed on the breaks nearly causing me to get rear-ended by the traffic behind me that expected me to enter the turn lane at the rate of speed I was going. Routinely, the car fails to detect vehicles in the blind spot. I can approach, pass, and clear a vehicle on the left (vehicle to my right) and the car will never detect that a car was there in the first place. Additionally, if a car is detected and then stays in the blind spot long enough, the car loses it and thinks the car is no longer in the blind spot.

The i-Active safety sense system in the vehicle shuts off in moderate rain. I believe it to be far too sensitive. the system complains that it cannot see the road and vehicles with the camera system. Inclement weather is when I need the i-Active safety sense the more. Earlier this week on my way to work, it disabled itself in very light rainy conditions. I had no trouble seeing but the system did. When this happens cruise control is completely disabled. I reported this to the dealer but they shrugged their shoulders. No one seems to test these systems in less than perfect weather. There are warning on the dash saying that i-Active safety sense is disabled.

Plastic trim pieces emblems are melting. Dealer replaced the first two trim pieces and said they would not cover remaining pieces if they melted. I feel all the plastic parts are melting on this vehicle and it is a 2025. This should not be happening. What can be done? First piece was window pillar trim drivers side on May 14, 2025 and the second piece was the In-Line 6 emblem front panel drivers side July 3, 2025. Each time outside temperature was 90 degrees. Inferior plastic melting should not be the consumers responsibility to repair.

The steering wheel on the car will often get stuck and not return to the normal position when turning. Happens at low speeds on on/off ramps and at interstate speeds when the road slightly shifts. “Jerking” the steering wheel is often required to get the car to drive straight and return to normal driving position.

Vehicle has transmission related issues. Delayed response/hesitation when accelerating from a stop or after decelerating. Delayed torque sometimes few seconds off. Others reported dealer has had software updates however issues remain which is a safety concern when on the road. Suspension frond end mild early on 500 miles or so however has gotten louder at 12k miles. Vehicle seems to be to heavy for the type of suspension used or defective suspensions parts. Many complaints filed on the front end noise however Mazda has not announced recalls. Stock tires Toyo All Weather are a safety hazard. Slippery in the rain and snow. These are not safe for a vehicle this size. Doors do not have insulation, road debris comes inside and all the cold air or wind makes it in through the side and bottom doors.

On the morning of January 28, 2026 I arrived to work and came to a complete stop in my works parking garage. I used my key card to raise the gate. Once the gate was fully raised I pressed the accelerator to drive up the ramp. Shortly after accelerating, my engine revved really loud and high rate, then my car automatically increased speed. I immediately pressed the brake pedal but it didn’t stop. It continued accelerating at a speed not controlled by me with my brakes not engaging even though I was pressing the brake as hard as could. I estimate I travel about 100’ with no control of the gas or brake. It lasted about 15-20 seconds. If a car were in front of me at that time, I would have crashed into them because I could not stop the car. I immediately called Davis Moore Mazda. I had the vehicle towed there because I didn’t feel safe driving it. Information from my cars computer program was sent to Mazda. Mazda didn’t see any issues and their diagnosis was a foot was likely on the accelerator causing the acceleration. The general manager called me to discuss. He said the only thing that registered was acceleration. I asked does the computer show my attempt to brake (stop) the car. His response was the computer wouldn’t read that because that was a normal driving process that wouldn’t be recorded. I asked why the acceleration would trigger an alert in the computer, since acceleration is also a normal driving process. He then said the computer picked it up because it accelerated quickly. There were no warnings present prior to this issue.

At highway speeds (>60 mph), the blind spot detection on the passenger side will alert that a car is present in the vehicles blind spot when no car is present. This will happen intermittently and will continue even if I begin the lane change process, it will continue to alert that the car is there. Additionally, and less frequently, the forward collision detection system will identify a car is in front of the vehicle causing a sudden slow down in the adaptive cruise control or an alert.

Incident details: While driving under winter road conditions, the vehicle experienced a brief slide. During this slide, the vehicle lightly scrapped a curb, leaving a minor mark on the wheel. Despite this, the airbags deployed unexpectedly. There was no collision, no rollover, and no other object was struck, and there is no visible exterior damage to the vehicle. ________________________________________ What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The suspected malfunction involves the airbag system, potentially including the airbag control module (ACM), crash sensors, or the electronic stability control (ESC) system. The airbags deployed without a qualifying collision or impact. The vehicle is being preserved and has not been repaired, and it is available for inspection upon request, with event data recorder (EDR) data preserved and available for retrieval.________________________________________ ________________________________________ Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. A Mazda-authorized dealer (Mazda of Salem, Oregon) declined to accept the vehicle, stating that they do not perform post–airbag deployment investigations. As a result, the issue has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. I contacted Mazda of Hillsboro (Oregon), and the service center manager contacted the Mazda Experience Center on my behalf under case number 00404588. I was informed that the Mazda Experience Center advised them that the case would be closed with no further investigation. I had my car only for 4 months, but the windshield glass is broken when the car was parked on my driveway couple days ago I usually only drive my cars during weekends so the windshield glass broke without any forcing. I was asked to bring to Mazda dealer, the 495 Mazdas at Lowell MA. The technician couldn’t find any cause leading to broken windshield. I took the car to safelite shop. The inspection report is same and believe it is most likely due to quality issue. However Mazda service was not willing to repair. Very poor and disappointing customer support!

Multiple times when there is a car on my left or right blind spot and I am merging into their lane the warning does not go off and has caused me to nearly collide with the cars without my intervention. The warnings only work if the cars are behind me not adjacently. This is misleading because the , i-ACTIVSENSE says its 360 degrees, but its not alerting or warning to cars to my left or right. I do not trust the safety systems.

with 500 miles on the car i heard a faint rattle around the front driver tire when driving slow on rough roads and slow over small bumps. Now with 3600 miles on the car the noise is much louder and something sounds very lose. Fear failure of suspension will cause an accident. TSB was released on CX-70 for vehicles produced prior to my vehicles production date. Fear the issue has not been resolved and my safety and my vehicle are at risk.

Safety Issue: Gear box unexpectedly disengaged while driving at highway speeds, between 60 and 70 mph. This occurred without warning and under normal road and operating conditions. Driver was unable to accelerate or decelerate vehicle. Driver did not have forward propulsion of vehicle at time of incidents (this happened more than once), and therefore, this is an extreme safety issue.

Dealer advised that that the tires needed to be replace, 4/32 front, 5/32 rear. Car only has 12,277 miles, over half of them are freeway and the remainer are mostly country roads. Service department at the dealership said he has seen examples of bald tires ant 10k miles. Service department said they are too soft of a compound for the heavy car. Tires are Falken ZIEX CT60A A/S 275/45 A21. I normally see original tires needing replacement at 30k. The Service rep at Falken said that normal original tires last 30k. My ticket with Falken tire is 2102897918 and I talked to them at 11:30 AM EDT on 9/25/2025.

CX-70 routinely has been falsely alerting to an impending crash when no vehicles in front or to the sides. Vehicle routinely does not alert when there is traffic to left or right when merging into a lane. Multiple near accidents when a vehicle was present in blind spot when merging lanes and the safety system failed to steer away or make an alert noise. Vehicle routinely alerts to take over steering wheel even when both hands are on steering wheel. I do not feel confident in the safety systems as they are not executing safety procedures as described in the vehicle manual and appear to be defective. Vehicle fuel gauge consistently under reports the amount of remaining fuel. This causes the gauge cluster to fall to empty faster than it actually should be.

As I was stopped on [XXX] waiting to turn left onto [XXX] , another vehicle struck mine from the rear, at approximately 50mph. The seat belt did not immediately lock, compromising my safety. I slid upward, partially out of the seat belt striking my head on the headliner and the belt caused a large bruise on my upper left arm. Additionally, the air bags did not deploy, but a spray of chemical came out onto me from the dash. The chemical sprayed onto the right side of my neck and collar bone, leaving a burning sensation. A week after this wreck, all the skin that was contacted by the spray, began peeling off, like a sunburn peel does. After this wreck, a warning notice appeared on my dash screen, stating AIRBAG FAILURE, in red lettering. There were no failure notices prior to this wreck. It’s unknown if any inspection of these two failures was done by my insurance adjusters, the manufacturer, the police or a dealership. There has been no known reproduction of these failures I am aware of. The vehicle is expected to be a total loss, but I am still waiting for that determination. The vehicle is still at the repair facility, Caliber Collision in Carbondale, IL, as of 7-1-2025. I have reported these failures to my insurance representative, the manufacturer, the repair facility and the dealership. Involuntary acceleration. Twice now at very low speeds between 1-5 mph the engine revs up and the car lurches forward for a second or two. Was pulling into house garage and was about to push acceleration pedal when the engine revved on its own and jolted the car forward. I slammed on the brakes real quickly when it happened and slid to a stop almost a foot away from crashing into house wall. I don't know for sure but I feel if I hadn't pushed the brakes it would have continued. Has happened one other time to a different driver, same car. Aside from possibly sending me crashing through my house I live next to a school and children and families are walking across the crosswalks all the time. If it were to happen when someone was in front of me I'm scared of what would happen, or even just parking at the grocery store I could easily slam into the car in the next spot. There were no warning /safety lights or any error lights on the dashboard before or when this happened. Not sure what caused it so I checked multiple boxes of what I think it could possibly be. Mazda has a recall out but I checked my vin and so far it's not registering a recall. My technician at the dealership is off today but I will call back tomorrow and talk to him about the incident.
