Fuel System, Gasoline 3 Read
What's wrong. Vehicle description: passsenger vehicles. Fuel tank damage could have occurred during installation of the screws on the soft top mechanism covers
Risk. This condition could cause fuel leakage from the fuel tank, increasing the risk of a vehicle fire
Fix. Dealers will inspect the fuel tanks for leaks. If leaks are found, the fuel tank will be replaced. Dealers will also inspect the soft top mechanism cover screws to verify proper length. If the screws are found to be the wrong length, correct length screws will be installed
What's wrong. Vehicle description: passenger vehicles. The fuel injection line can wear due to interference with the water hose clamp on the coolant pipe
Risk. If the fuel line fractures, fuel leakage can occur. If an ignition source is present, a fire could occur
Fix. Dealers will inspect and rotate the incorrectly fitted water hose clamps
What's wrong. Vehicle description: passenger vehicles fitted with single fuel pumps. The fuel injection line fitting can fracture if the aluminum nut attaching the lines is tightened excessively
Risk. If the fuel line fractures, fuel leakage can occur. If an ignition source is present, a fire could occur
Fix. Dealers will remove the fuel injection lines that have aluminum nuts and replace with new lines containing steel attaching nuts

What's wrong. Ferrari is recalling certain model year 1995 through 1999 ferrari 355 and 355 f1 vehicles. Independent automobile repair facilities may have improperly installed certain screw clamps that are located in close proximity to the fuel lines and that fasten the water sleeve to the thermostat connection. The improper installation of these screw clamps may damage the fuel supply pipes
Risk. Fluid could leak into the engine compartment, causing smoke and, in some circumstances, a fire, rendering the vehicle inoperable and possibly resulting in a crash
Fix. Dealers will install a new fuel divider block, which will serve to provide a greater distance between these screw clamps and the fuel lines. This will eliminate the possibility of any damage to the fuel supply pipes which could cause fluid leakage. This service will be performed free of charge. The recall began on…

Frequently asked questions
How many recalls does the Ferrari F355 have?
7 NHTSA campaigns on record, covering 1996–1999. Not every campaign applies to every car — coverage is by production range, so check your VIN.
Is recall work free?
Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer regardless of the car's age, mileage or how many owners it has had. That is a federal requirement, not a courtesy.
How do I know if my F355 still has an open recall?
Enter its VIN above. We show campaigns that apply to that exact vehicle and whether the repair has already been recorded as done.
Why did a defect take years to be recalled?
On this model the average gap between the car being built and the defect being admitted is 4.22 years, and the slowest campaign came 13 years later. Defects usually surface as they accumulate in the field: complaints pile up, an investigation opens, and only then is a campaign issued.
