What's wrong. Certain vehicles fail to comply with the stop lamp and reflex reflector requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, 'lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."
Risk. This standard is to reduce crashes, injuries and deaths by providing adequate illumination of the roadway, and by enhancing the conspicuity of motor vehicles on the public roads so that their presence is perceived and their signals understood, both in daylight and in darkness or other conditions of reduced visibility
Fix. Dealers will replace the rear combination lamp assemblies free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on or about april 16, 2007. Owners may contact infiniti at 1-800-662-6200

Electrical System 2 Read
What's wrong. On certain passenger vehicles, one of the diodes used in the alternator may have been damaged when built. This can eventually result in failure of the diode and an electrical short which could melt the plastic housing
Risk. If the combustible gas emitted by the melting plastic does not disperse due to air flow through the engine compartment, it could ignite and in turn ignite the fan guide in the alternator
Fix. Dealers will replace the alternator. Owner notification began july 29, 2002. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261 or infiniti at 1-800-662-6200

What's wrong. Nissan is recalling certain model year 2003-2005 infiniti q45 vehicles. A wiring connector for the seat mounted airbag may experience increased electrical resistance, resulting in the non-deployment of the side air bags
Risk. Non-deployment of side air bags could increase the risk of personal injury
Fix. Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will modify the wiring connector, free of charge. The safety recall began on march 19, 2012. Owners may contact nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261

Child Seat 1 Read
What's wrong. Certain passenger vehicles equipped with power rear seats fail to conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 225, "child restraint anchorage systems." the lower anchorage brackets in the rear seats do not meet the location requirement in this standard. This may cause difficulty in attaching some child seats to these brackets
Risk. If a child seat is not secured, there is an increased risk of injury in a crash
Fix. Dealers will replace the lower anchorage brackets with modified ones to ensure that the standard is met. The recall began on october 17, 2005. Owners may contact infiniti at 1-800-662-6200
Engine And Engine Cooling 1 Read
What's wrong. On certain passenger vehicles, the circuit board for the crank position sensor or cam position sensor may have an improper solder joint due to solder deformation caused by heat stress accelerated by the existence of flux residue during the soldering process
Risk. This could cause the "service engine soon" warning light to come on, create a no start condition, cause reduced engine power, or cause the engine to stop running without warning during vehicle operation, which could result in a crash
Fix. Dealers will replace the crank position sensors. Camshaft position sensor(s), and in some cases, the variable timing control sensor(s). Vehicles involved in a previous recall campaign, 01V357, are also included in this new campaign. The replacement sensors used in that campaign are also affected. Owner notification…

What's wrong. On certain passenger vehicles equipped with 17 inch alloy wheels, the wheels may have a casting defect from which cracks could propagate as the vehicle is being driven
Risk. If a sufficient number of cracks develop, the wheel could fail and separate from the mounting hub, increasing the risk of a crash
Fix. Dealers will replace these wheels. Owner notification began april 28, 2003. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact infiniti at 1-800-662-6200

What's wrong. Vehicle desription: passenger vehicles. The ignition key can be removed when the engine is turned off without placing the transmission shift lever in the "park" position. This does not comply with the requirements of fmvss no. 102, "transmission shift lever sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect."
Risk. If this occurred and the driver failed to move the shift lever to 'park' or engage the parking brake, the vehicle could roll away if parked on a slope
Fix. Dealers will replace the shift lock control unit

What's wrong. Vehicle description: passenger vehicles equipped with bose rear speakers that have an integral amplifier. A conductive bridge can form between two lines of the circuit board pattern when there is accumulated electrolyte leaked froma capacitor and high humidity conditions. This can close a transistor on the circuit board which causes overheating
Risk. This condition could result in smoke or flame and possibly the speaker catching fire
Fix. Dealers will replace the circuit board with a new board that has been coated

What's wrong. The front safety belt buckle release buttons can break. These red plastic release buttons are marked "press." if a button breaks, pieces can fall into the buckle assembly causing the buckle to operate improperly
Risk. The safety belts would not provide adequate protection to an occupant in a vehicle crash
Fix. Owners should promptly check the condition and operation of both front safety belt buckles and carefully inspect the red release button for any breaks or cracks. They should ensure that both buckles are operating properly by inserting each latch plate into its buckle, tugging on the belt to make sure the latch is…

How long a defect stays unadmitted
Campaign numbers encode the year of the announcement, so each recall on this model can be dated against the car it applies to.
| Measure | Value |

| Average gap before admission | 3.3 years |
| Slowest campaign | 9 years |
| Admitted 5+ years later | 35% |
| Campaigns on record | 11 |
Which Q45 years were recalled most
Campaigns per model year. A year with more campaigns is not automatically worse — it may simply have sold in far greater numbers.

Frequently asked questions
How many recalls does the Infiniti Q45 have?
11 NHTSA campaigns on record, covering 1990–2006. Not every campaign applies to every car — coverage is by production range, so check your VIN.
Is recall work free?
Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer regardless of the car's age, mileage or how many owners it has had. That is a federal requirement, not a courtesy.
How do I know if my Q45 still has an open recall?
Enter its VIN above. We show campaigns that apply to that exact vehicle and whether the repair has already been recorded as done.
Why did a defect take years to be recalled?
On this model the average gap between the car being built and the defect being admitted is 3.3 years, and the slowest campaign came 9 years later. Defects usually surface as they accumulate in the field: complaints pile up, an investigation opens, and only then is a campaign issued.
