Wear issue is with the valve guides in the cylinder heads. If the issue was not addressed, the hollow, sodium filled exhaust valve could break and destroy the engine. The repairs were made before the car had an engine failure while driving. Mileage on the car was around 32,000

After filling the car with fuel, I could smell gas instantly and I thought there was a leak. Upon parking my car in the garage the whole garage smelled of fuel. After two days the smell was gone but it does appear every time I fill the car to some degree. It comes and goes now…

I had to replace the exhaust valves in my 2008 z06 in order to prevent catastrophic failure. Replaced 2-piece soda filled valves with 1 piece stainless steel valves. Upon inspection valve guides on #3 had excess slop. Sent heads out for machining and new guides. Stock engine had…
