Suzuki Problems

The contact owns a 2006 suzuki forenza. While driving at approximately 45 mph, the vehicle was involved in crash with another vehicle and the air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The driver was reported injured and was transported to the hospital via ambulance. There was smoke seen coming from under the hood and the vehicle was towed to an independent repair facility. The vehicle was not examined for the cause of the air bag failure and was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileages were 50,000

- the contact stated that while driving the 1996 suzuki sidekick sport on an icy afternoon he pulled into the driveway at 5 mph and hit the utility pole, and both airbags deployed. The passenger side airbag popped and burst into flames in the center of the bag. A neighbor saw what happened ,came over, opened the passenger door, and beat the flames until the fire was out. The driver side airbag deployed and forced the contact left hand to go through the driver's side window which shatter,ed,and caused contusions to his knuckles. The contact contacted the police and there was report. The officer couldn't understand how the airbags could have deployed because the utility pole had no damage, but the vehicle did receive a ding. I was involved in a front end collision where I t-boned another vehicle and my 2006 suzuki grand vitara became immobilized because the impact was so hard that the driveline broke. But the driver airbag did not deploy at all!

Coming around a corner up a hill I applied throttle to go up hill. A large clunk occurred and I lost all forward ability. Not having power I barely made it to the side of the road almost getting hit. I swerved to avoid a car and went down. Nothing other than minor scrapes as a result. Upon determining the problem to be the final drive I removed the part and found it was never lubed during assembly. This caused the shaft to rust causing the failure. There is no way to apply grease to the part without entering the non maintenance area of the final drive. This is a known problem with the 05-09 model years as evidence by a simple internet search. No recall has been issued yet. I was lucky and made it out of traffic, others may not be as lucky

I purchased this car new in 2/ 2009. I have had to have it into the shop for repairs of check engine light and transmission, ultimately leading to a transmission replacement on 7/17/12. It has been in the shop 14 times from 7/24/10 until the present most of which included the check engine light/and or the transmission failure, still today my car is in the shop because it won't reverse. The accident that occurred on 12/24/2012 could have possibly been avoided had I been able to reverse because as the car approached me I attempted to reverse when it failed

Was stopped at a red light. When light turned green I went to first gear then second. While trying to go to third it slipped out of gear and a car hit me from behind

My VIN number is [XXX]. A recall was issued for Suzuki Vstrom. The recall was issued for 2012-2016 Suzuki V-Strom 650 stator due to a wiring issue. The wire burns. The problem is that the 2008 model has the same stator rectifier system. The part numbers are identical and feature the same wiring. My stator currently went bad at 42,000 miles. Rectifier and stator problem. Riding down the road the bike completely turns off. Pulled into a parking lot and smell smoke. I look at the rectifier and it is extremely hot with a small ember burning on the back of it. Bike will not turn on anymore. Looks to be a similar recall for bikes made in 07 as well

I was driving home from work and smoke starting to come inside the car from the driver side vents. I pulled over and let the smoke air out as I called a tow truck. On the tow truck at the pooler parkway exit off of I-16, the car alarm was going off, the lights were flashing, and the car was completely filled with smoke. The tow truck driver pulled over, ran to the car on the tow truck bed, opened the driver side door and saw flames engulfing the panel under the steering wheel. He grabbed the fire extinguisher and put out the fire and disconnected the battery. During this time, I was in the cab of the tow truck. Car was then considered a liability, therefor was not allowed at the tow truck yard or my apartment complex. The tow truck driver towed the car to dan vaden chevrolet, where I had been contacting them for two weeks regarding the part I got a notice on about the recall

Forty-nine days after purchasing the car it burst into flames from under the hood only moments after my wife had exited the car in her parking lot at a school. The car became a total loss as the fire reached the driver's compartment. Two nearby cars belonging to workmates were also damaged with melted tail lights and blistered paint. No after market equipment had been installed and no service had yet been performed on the car

At aprx 40 mph my 2007 suzuki gsxr 1000 was side-swiped by an on-coming motorcycle and after my bike fell over onto the street all the gas poured out and it burst into flames luckily some guys stopped and pulled me away

I had received a safety recall on a fire hazard with the lightening after I kept smelling plastic burning every time it rained...I then noticed it was because I had the lights on all the time. I have called suzuki to no avail to have a local procured to do recall repair due to the closet approved vendor being 2 hours away in traffic and the length of repair taking most of their day plus return trip. We would have to spend night in a hotel. My mechanic even called them and said they would do the repairs in chantilly, va. And suzuki refused saying it would only take me 20 minutes to drive to wheaton md???????? I am in bristow, va. I asked that they have the vehicle towed and fixed and brought back to me then and they refuse every suggestion. This is by far a huge inconvenience and wear and tear on my vehicle. It is their fire hazard, they should make every effort to provide for a local repair to the fire hazard

Upon turning on head lamp switch on steering column, noticed smoke, then flames, fanned out, result head lamp and park lights are inoperative

Sub frame of 1999 suzuki esteem had rusted thru .I was driving at 70 miles per hour when the sub frame cracked and pushed the passenger front tire back against the fender caused the front tire to lock up which caused me to wreck. I spoke with suzuki and gave them my VIN number and was told that part was on recall and to have my car towed in and they would fix that part. Two days later I was called and told that the recall had expired 3 months earlier. I was never notified and was also wondering how a recall on a safety issue could expire. I have seen hundreds of complaints on forums about the same issue and it is always the passenger side

First occasion approx 1/04 - backing up out of a parking spot and car accelerated uncontrollably on its own. I put both feet on the brake and still could not stop vehicle-had to put car in park to stop. If someone was in back of me I would have caused a crash. Simultaneous with this incident, I received a recall from suzuki for this particular problem and took car in for recall service. Second occasion, 3/25/04 - waiting in line to go into car wash when car did the same thing-accelerated uncontrollably. Luckily no one was in front of me, if they had been I would have caused a crash. Again being unable to stop the car with both feet on the brake I had to put the car into park to stop it. I took the vehicle to the dealer where I bought it new and they have determined there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. Note - this was not reported to police, there was no fire or crash - I couldn't get those items to come up correctly

After coming to a complete stop at a stop sign, I slowly turned the corner to pull into a parking lot when the vehicle suddenly accelerated to a high speed on the city street. I was unable to stop the vehicle before hitting a parked car. The air bags deployed - minor injuries were sustained and the car was extensively damaged. In researching the cause, I see similar complaints about the suzuki sx4 and its "sudden unintended acceleration" problem on the NHTSA website, repairpal, and cnn. At this point, the damage has not been repaired though it is likely to be $4,000-$5,000
