Equipment 100% 2 Read
1995 GMC Vandura · 94V227000 · admitted after 0 years

What's wrong. Both the supplemental inflatable restraint (sir) caution label and an engine start label were installed on the same side of the driver's sun visor. This does not comply with fmvss no. 208, "occupant crash protection."

Risk. Consequence of non-compliance: operators could fail to notice and heed the warning labels

Fix. A new label, with installation instructions, will be sent directly to owners. Owners will install the label or can have their dealer install the label for them

1994 GMC Vandura · 94V087000 · admitted after 0 years

What's wrong. The manufacturer's certification label and/or the driver air bag advisory label may be missing from the vehicles, which does not conform to the requirements of 49 cfr 567

Risk. Consequence of non-compliance: owners of vehicle would be unaware of the load capacity of the vans, the van build date, and would not have any assurance that the vans meet the federal motor vehicle safety standards

Fix. The labels will be furnished to owner's for installation on the vehicles

Frequently asked questions

How many recalls does the GMC Vandura have?

2 NHTSA campaigns on record, covering 1994–1995. Not every campaign applies to every car — coverage is by production range, so check your VIN.

Is recall work free?

Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer regardless of the car's age, mileage or how many owners it has had. That is a federal requirement, not a courtesy.

How do I know if my Vandura still has an open recall?

Enter its VIN above. We show campaigns that apply to that exact vehicle and whether the repair has already been recorded as done.

Why did a defect take years to be recalled?

On this model the average gap between the car being built and the defect being admitted is 0 years. Defects usually surface as they accumulate in the field: complaints pile up, an investigation opens, and only then is a campaign issued.
