The contact owns a 2011 dodge charger. The contact stated that while braking to a stop, the vehicle started smoking as all of the lights on the instrument panel and dashboard started to flicker. The contact then crashed into the rear of another vehicle. There were no injuries. The contact and several child passengers became locked into the vehicle for several minutes due to the door locks failing. The door was opened after multiple attempts. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the contact was advised that the battery and alternator failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000. Kmj

I experienced ramdom failure of the headlights on my dodge caravan. I brought this to the attention of my dealer and they said they "could not duplicate concern". I was told the cause was probably the "front control module" but they would not replace it because they were not positive it was the cause, and because of the cost of the part. After this occured the second time I took it to my own mechanic and he replaced the module at a cost of $307.05. The replacement occured 9/15/2004. I have had no similat problems since the module was replaced. I had purchaced the extended warrenty with the vehicle but I was told by the dealer the module was not covered by the policy. It covers 7 different named control modules but not this one. I called chrysler and registered a complaint-#12641005

Hit a pole on an parking lot access road at approximately 15 mph. Car started on fire and burnt the entire car. The interior was completely destroyed

Vehicle downshifts hard in slow traffic. Vehicle then proceeds to turn off but engine will not stop until you put foot on brake put vehicle in park and push engine button. The dealership resets code and runs good for about 200 to 400 miles and happens again. Been back to dealership three times. The transmission shifts jerky between 30 to 37 mph and then engine light comes on and vehilce stops

Rear axle locked up while driving and snapped bolts to the drive shaft then drive shaft fell off onto the road. Truck came skidding to a stop. Rear axle will not turn at all

On December 29, 2025, my wife put her van in park, turned off the vehicle and proceeded to exit the vehicle. The drive is on an incline after exiting the vehicle it began to roll backwards. She was caught in the door and attempted to press the brake to no effect. She was drug about fifty feet before separating from the vehicle. The vehicle then rolled down a steep embankment and continued another hundred feet or so where it struck a building. Upon entering the vehicle, the gear shift was in the park position and the engine was turned off. The vehicle sustained over $5,000 in body damage from the impact to the building. And an unknown amount of damage to the steering and exhaust system from rolling down the embankment

I got my oil changed, tires rotated, and windshield wipers replaced on april 13 2011 around 6:30pm. My oil change took approximately 15 min. After the oil change and tire rotation, I paid and went straight home. I was not informed by anyone at valvoline that anything was wrong with my car. I got in my car around 7:40am on april 14th and headed towards my insurance company on asheville highway. As I entered onto business 85, my car started to smoke from under the hood and I could feel heat on my feet near the gas pedal and brake. As I tried to brake and slow the car down, something under the hood caught fire and the brakes failed to stop the car and the car ended up sliding into the back of a pick up truck and the hood and front end of the car completely burst into flames. The brakes on the car were replaced supposed have been replaced by the dealer before I purchased the car in december of 2010. Because of the incident, I sprain my wrist, dislocated my toe, and am without a vehicle

2008 model dodge viper srt10 convertible caught fire and burned entirely maybe before a somewhat minor collision. Have talked to emergency ambulance workers and wrecker drivers and they verified that this was common (3rd incident in the houston, tx area)

Son drove my car and lost control as it sprung out of control and he hit a tree. No airbags deployed during that impact. My insurance company totaled my car out but really didn’t give a reason as to why they didn’t deploy with such a hard hit. The contact owned a 2020 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving at 12 MPH and attempting to complete a right turn, the vehicle suddenly began to jerk left to right. As a result, the contact briefly lost control of the vehicle, coming to a complete stop after colliding with a pole that pierced through the vehicle and protruded out from the center console. Upon exiting the vehicle, the contact observed flames emanating from the engine compartment. Local fire services were not called, as the fire had dissipated on its own. The air bags did deploy, but the contact stated that the left curtain side air bag failed to fully deploy, resulting in injury. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. A fire report was not filed. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The contact transported himself to an area hospital and was treated for a minor concussion and a laceration to his left leg. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was unknown

I was driving my 2017 challenger rt with only 22k miles down a city street. And while approaching a stop sign and my front passenger wheel completely broke off. I was not able to stop or steering enough to control the direction of travel. Causing me to hit a gate and a street at a college. Sadly I'm suffering from a broke neck, femur, leg, ankle, fractured lungs and ribs, and a ruptured vessel in my heart. The front sub frame rusted out and almost killed everyone in the car the wheels turned out and lost all steering was really scary is there any way we can get this fixed by dodge this should be a recall I’ve looked at 6 calibers and all of them are rusted out

The contact later became aware that his VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V426000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic), which he associated with the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000

The contact owns a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at various speeds, the ABS warning light illuminated and the vehicle seized. The contact managed to coast the vehicle to the shoulder of the road and place the vehicle in park. The contact exit the vehicle to inspect the engine and without warning when the front hood was open 4-foot flames shoot out from the hood. The contact sustained burns to the right hand. No medical attention was sought. The contact ran to the rear of the vehicle open the trunk and poured water that he had in a bucket on the flames. No police report was made. The fire department was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired or diagnosed. No dealer was contacted nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. Damages were to the wire harness, ABS module, and connecting rod. The failure mileage was approximate 220,000

I was in a wreck on oct 2 2019 where the fount end of my car was ripped off and and severely damaged my airbags never deployed causing me to hit my door and window as well as slamming me into my dash causing injuries this wreck happened as I was crossing a intersection on a city street going about 15mph when another car hit me going very fast with extreme force

I was stopped at red light,I was rear ended at aprox.45mph by SUV. The car started in fire at rear of car,flames touched to of car inside of car. After emptying a fire extinguisher,fire restarted 5 more times,each time using another extinguisher,fireman finally flooded car to stop the fire...just wondering if anyone else has had this happen? The muffler and gas tank arevery close,and were touching after impact

My daughter, michelle owned a 1996 dodge avenger es which she lost her life in. On october 6, 2001 she had an accident which the car burst into flames and exploded. It was in for recalls within the previous year for the lower lateral ball joint. On october 2000, her front end of her car fell to the ground, which we reported to you and to daimen chrysler. Daimen chrysler paid for the repairs to her car. Now her car explodes and bursts into flames killing her. She did not die from the injuries of the accident, she died from the fumes and fire. We want to know since there are reports of other daimen chrysler autos that have been in the news as to catching on fire we want it on record that her car also caught on fire. We would like to report this and to possibly save someone elses life. We want to know if the auto manufacturer held information on other makes and models that they were investigating from the consumers for recalls. The accident does not explain why the car burst in flames immediately

The vehicle had been parked and unused for approximately 24 hours. We drove it home after staying elsewhere overnight and arrived home about one hour before the incident. About an hour after parking, I asked my fiancé to retrieve our belongings from inside the vehicle. He immediately noticed smoke filling the interior of the vehicle. I opened the hood to try to determine where the smoke was coming from but did not see any visible fire. As I continued looking for the source of the smoke, the vehicle suddenly caught fire. Within approximately 10 minutes, the fire spread rapidly, completely destroying the vehicle and reducing it to a total loss. The flames then spread to my home, causing part of the house to catch fire. Thankfully, we discovered the smoke when we did. Had it gone unnoticed for even a short time longer, our entire house could have caught fire. Firefighters arrived just as the fire began spreading to the house and were able to prevent further damage. Thankfully, no one was injured
