By the time the contact and her family were able to exit the vehicle and move to a safe distance, the vehicle had become engulfed in flames that were originating from the engine compartment. Local emergency services arrived and were able to extinguish the fire. All warning lights were illuminated. My mitsubishi outlander sport has a keyless start. There is no mechanism that prevents the vehicle accidentally being turned off while still in drive or reverse. On 5/30/19 at approximately 9:20 pm, I made a run to my local rite-aid. I turned of the ignition, but forgot to put it in park. I exited the store after approximately 5 minutes to find my car missing from the parking lot. I initially thought it had been stolen. The police found my vehicle after it had rolled out of the parking lot, into traffic and ended up crashing in a ditch. It had to be hauled out and sustained significant damage and may be a total loss. I can only be grateful that it did not collide into another vehicle,l or hit a pedestrian. This accident could have easily killed someone. There is no logical reason that a safety mechanism should not be a standard requirement in all push button start vehicles to prevent such a tragedy. The car rental I am currently using is a 2019 escalade. I tested the remote start in the escalade and no matter what gear I am in when I shut off the engine, it automatically defaults to park. It can be done and should be required!

Dt: while driving on the four lane highway, the car dropped on the passenger side causing the car to spin out of control. Went to the other side of the highway and stopped in the medium. I have experienced nothing but problems with the body shop personnel at little rock dodge, and the service department at little rock mitsubishi in handling this matter. It has been a month, and I still haven't been able to get any answers, unless , I count the lies that I've been told by your so called trained professionals. I would appreciate it very much if someone would be honest and not prejudice , and help me out. If I honestly thought that this matter was not a safety issue, I would not be going through all of this; and I definitely wouldn't be without transportation for a month. I am not trying to cause any problems. All I want is for the dealer to fix my car. I feel as though I shouldn't have to pay for something that is defective.
